I know I am late for updating this chapter but I had a hard time writing this, I was not sure to make it to either one or two chapters but as you can see I made it into one. I hope you like this chapter and yes this is the beginning of all drama's. Enjoy.
"Buzz Buzz.."
Arnold rolled over to grab his phone to turn off his alarm, he rolled back to see a sleeping Helga, he took a minute to study her for a bit. He noticed she looks so peaceful and have an angelic glow, he wondered if it was the pregnancy that was giving her the glow or he didn't notice it before but damn it made her more beautiful. Arnold decided to do something special for her, so he rolled off the bed very slowly not to wake her up, he put on his slippers and made his way to the kitchen down stairs.
When entering the kitchen his finds his best friend Gerald in the kitchen as well, he was looking at his phone and didn't see Arnold coming in the kitchen:
" Morning Gerald"
Gerald looked up
"Morning man, what you doing up?"
"Well I thought to do something special for Helga, so I thought why not make her breakfast in bed like I did when we first moved in together and I am guessing you thought the same idea." Said Arnold.
"haha well yes I usually bring her breakfast on the weekends after she had a busy week but today she is extra sleepy since she was up most of the night (he winked)."
"haha still trying to make that baby I see." Said Arnold
"yea she very determined to get pregnant before Helga to give birth, so I don't have enough time."
"Gerald don't worry it will happen just let nature take its course, what are you planning to make Phoebe?" asked Arnold
"Well I am not sure I was looking online for idea plus's plus trying to get pregnant so she on a health kick as of right now." Answered Gerald.
"Well I was thinking to make a spinach omelet with turkey bacon since pork bacon makes her sick as of right now." Said Arnold
"Well that not a bad idea make that two except of turkey bacon I will replace it will blueberries and blackberries on the side. Whole wheat toast and blueberry jam and coffee."
"Well coffee for Phoebe, Helga can't have caffeine so I will give her orange juice."
"Alright my brother let get started before the girls wake up."
When the husband was done making the breakfast they placed their creations on trays and started to make their way to their respectful rooms.
"Knock Knock"
Arnold poked his head in the room to see Helga stirring in the bed, she slowly opened her eyes to see Arnold making his way to the bed with a tray of delicious food.
"Hungry?" asked Arnold
"You bet I am, uhm let me use the rest room first your son thinks my bladder is a squeeze toy." said Helga
"Now he is my son when he does something that bugs you?" said Arnold
"uhm yes, cause it's natural to blame you when something bugs me." With that Helga heads in the bathroom, all Arnold could do is shake his head.
Once Helga did her morning routine in the bathroom, she tied her hair into a bun and looked herself at the mirror. She took to the side to examine her belly and notice it was bigger than before. She rubbed her belly and couldn't help fall in love with her son.
"Well baby you may bug me like squeezing my bladder but I do love you very much."
Helga looked at herself one more time and made her way to the bedroom, she opened the door and saw Arnold fixing the bed, Helga raised one of her eyebrows.
"Wow I never thought I would see you fix the bed."
"Well I been making it since you left the house, I missed how the room looked clean so I decided it was time to pull my weight around and keep the house like you do." Said Arnold
Helga kept quiet she didn't know what to say, so she looked somewhere else and found the tray of food sitting on the table in the corner of the room. Arnold notice she was looking at the food:
"Here come sit and enjoy the food while I go clean the bed and shower."
"Thanks, you are not joining me?" asked Helga
"No, I already ate with Gerald while we were making the breakfast for you and Phoebe."
"Well that was very sweet of you gentleman's….mmmmhmmm this is so good, man this is making my stomach dancing and your son is thanking you for this breakfast….by the way should I pass the kitchen?"
Arnold eyes popped out "uhm not a good idea let me fix the room, clean the kitchen and shower, enjoy the food."
Arnold finish fixing the room and headed to the kitchen which Helga can imagine the mess the boys left behind. What seems ten minutes have passed Arnold came back with a towel hanging on his arms.
"Do you want me to take that?" Helga looked down and saw what he meant her empty tray.
"Nope, I got it go shower since there a good chance I will be hogging the bathroom most of the time and we have three hours left since the party starts at two and we leave at one."
"Alright, let me pick out my clothes…"
"Oh no, I am picking it out your clothes I need you to match me so there no suspicious. Got it bucko?"
Arnold just nodded
Helga grabbed her tray and headed down stairs where she saw Phoebe washing her dishes
"Kinnichwa Phoebe, I see you enjoyed your breakfast." Helga usually greets Phoebe in Japanese when she is in the mood
Phoebe turn around and saw her blonde friend,
"why yes that was very sweet that the boys did that for us." Said Phoebe.
"Yes, it was sweet for them to do, (Helga made her way to the sink to wash her dishes) well I have Arnold showering. So, he can get ready first and I have the bathroom for most of the time"
"Same here, it going to take me a while to pick out an outfit, I still have not decided on what to wear. Plus, I don't know what to do with my hair as well." Said Phoebe
"I got my outfit already, just need shoes that fit my swollen feet and with my hair it's a hassle now ever since taking prenatal my hair is even longer and thicker than before so just doing my hair is tougher than before."
"wow I can imagine, cannot wait for that I hope my hair thickens out since I have really thin hair."
"haha do not worry Pheebs it will happen to you soon, just give it time it will happen when you least expected."
"Um well I might tell you since I have you alone."
"What?" Helga had a feeling what her best friend was hinting but she didn't want to get her hopes up.
"Well I am a week late."
"Wow Phoebe, are you sure? Don't get me wrong if you are pregnant I am ecstatic but you must be sure of this. Have you told Gerald?"
"No not yet, (Helga gave Phoebe a wondering look) the reason of it is you know my menstrual cycle has never been normal. I have always miss months, plus the stress of my job can affect my cycle as well. So, when we go home I will go to the doctor to find out."
"Well I hope you are pregnant so you can join me in this moody roller-coaster and see how you treat Gerald."
"OH, Helga you are horrible."
Helga put the last dishes away
"Well what do expect from me, there must be a reason we are still friends. (Helga side hug her best friend) come on before our husband finish taking a shower and pick out clothes that don't look right."
"Oh my, that is true I must hide the pants that Gerald want to wear… skinny jeans do not look right for a baby shower."
"Plus, I think Rhonda will go into early labor if she saw that."
Both women ended up laughing up the stairs and made their separate ways. Helga walked to her room to hear the shower still running. She went to the drawers to see what Arnold could wear, since it was on ranch so a suit was out of the question, blue jeans were the perfect option with a white polo shirt and red plaid shirt but opened. She picked out black sneakers to finish off the outfit she picked out for him. Picking Arnold outfit was done she started going through her drawers to find the dress she brought, she heard the shower turn off she set her towel and her bath bag on the side to be ready. Arnold came out of the shower with a towel wrap around his waist, Helga was looking at his abs and chest; with her hormones, all out of sync she was feeling very hot right now. She wanted to bite his chest but she shook her head, Arnold gave her a smile and headed towards her.
"The bathroom is yours and I must add try to message option its feels amazing."
"I see why you took a long shower, well if I had known I was sharing a room with another female I would have woken up earlier to shower first."
Helga started laughing and Arnold stop smiling and made his way to the bed where Helga laid out his clothes. Arnold took off the towel and Helga turned away.
"Excuse me can you wait till I was in the bathroom" said Helga
Arnold laughed "Well sorry I didn't think it like that since you have seen me naked before."
"Well that when we were living together and still in good terms."
The room got quiet and awkward set in.
"You are right (Arnold grab his towel to cover himself) I will change in one of the other rooms and leave you this room to get ready in."
Arnold grab his clothes and walked out. When Helga heard the door close, she cried her eyes out, she grabs her bath bag and towel and headed to the shower. After an hour of taking a shower which was spent mostly crying, Helga dried herself off and wrapped her hair in a towel. When she walked back to the room, she put on light makeup mostly blush since she was cursed on being pale, eyeliner and eyeshadow. She heard a knock on the door and it was Phoebe frantically coming in the room with what seems four dresses hanging from her arms.
"Are you alright Phoebe?"
"No, I have no idea what dress to put on; I asked Gerald but his response was (whatever babe you look beautiful no matter what) men do not know what they are saying. Help me Helga." Phoebe usually don't freak out but this made Helga laugh.
"Alright Pheebs, first relax not to freak out over a dress. Just show me what you got."
Phoebe held out the first dress which was a pencil blue dress, second was a white flow dress that reach above her knees, third was long blue and black dress and the last dress was also a long dress with a black belt wrapped about the middle, mixed with blue and white like tie-dye design.
"I like the last one, I think it suits you better and plus give you a figure on one hand, plus with black heels it pulls it together."
"Thanks, you so much Helga, can I see you dress?"
"Sure"
Helga grab the pink dress and showed it to Phoebe.
"Oh, my Pheebs this looks wonderful and looks comfortable as well."
"Thanks, yes Olga was the one who told me to put it one. Since I can't wear heels I thought white flats would suit me but as for my hair I am not sure."
"Alright how about we get ready and I will come to your room so we can do each other hairs."
"Alright deal"
Phoebe walked out the room
In the living room, we find their husbands, Gerald was wearing black jeans with a red collar shirt and black and red shoes.
"I am guessing Phoebe picked out your clothes."
"Yes, she said no man of hers is wearing skinny jeans to a baby shower so she is making me wear black boot cut pants but it's fine I will let her win for now but the skinny jeans will come back."
"haha relax Gerald…."
"You alright man?" asked Gerald
"Yea, why?"
"Arnold, I have known you since we were three what's up?"
"Alright, when I finished showering Helga was in the room; since she put my clothes on the bed I dropped the towel and she turn around and said why I didn't wait till she was in the shower. In reality, I didn't think much of it, she has seen me naked, I mean that how she got pregnant anyway. So, I didn't think she was going to be offended, then she said (Well that when we were living together and still in good terms) so I walked out the room and got ready in the other room."
"Arnold listen man…"
"No Gerald, she right and we can't be on the right terms till we talk. I guess for a moment I thought we were fine you know, in love and excited for our son to come into this world."
"I feel you man, like I said I still rooting for you guys."
"Thank Gerald, you are awesome friend."
The men did their handshake.
"Gerald did you wrap Rhonda gift?!" Screamed Phoebe
"How about you football head?" Screamed Helga
The men just looked at each other.
"We are on that right now." Screamed Gerald."
"You better get on that," screamed Phoebe
"Wow I forgot Phoebe can scream loud." Said Arnold
"Well imagine in our bedroom." Gerald winked
"Awe come on, Phoebe is like my sister I can't picture that."
Gerald gave a hearty laugh.
"Come on, let go get the gifts before our wives rip our heads off." Said Gerald
It was ten minutes before one in the afternoon the girls came down stairs, Phoebe hair was put in a bun and Helga hair was in a half and half do with curls ascending down. The men had their mouth open;
"Well I must say you guys clean up nice." Said Helga
"Helga, you look beautiful and you to Phoebe." Said Arnold
"Thank you, Arnold." Answered Phoebe
"Yes, Arnold thank you." Said Helga
"Yes, your welcome." Arnold could not stop staring at Helga. He took every inch of her beauty with the makeup and how the dress hugged her curves just right.
"Alright saps, enough with mushy stuff let hit the road; cause its one – fifteen and it's a thirty minute drive."
"Agreed so are we going in separate car or taking one?" asked Phoebe
"How about we take our own cars, so we are not cramped and just in case one of us to go home early." Said Arnold.
"Good idea, plus me in the back seat is not a good idea since I get car sick now and I don't think Geraldo would like it if I throw up in his precious car." Said Helga
"You know what that not a bad idea, I don't want anybody messing up my baby." Said Gerald
Helga rolled her eyes
"Alright, Gerald just follow me and we should really hit the road (Arnold looked at the time) it's already one twenty and I don't want to hit traffic." Said Arnold
The two-couple got into their respective cars, the drive to the ranch started smoothly until they got on the last exit where most of the road was dirt, making the ride bumpy especially for Helga; she was trying hard to contain her nausea. After five minutes of driving on dirt, they finally reached a smooth surface and Helga could relax now; the two cars finally reached the ranch and drove their cars to where they set up the valet to park their cars for them. Since Arnold was the first they waited for Gerald and Phoebe to give their car keys to the guys. Ranch they were at was not just an old beat up ranch it was one of those luxury ranches. The outside had beautiful flowers planted on the path that leads to the front, the doors are double doors that was covered blue and white see through curtains. Which made it seems a baby shower theme, also on the outside had some balloons placed outside saying it's a boy. Once inside, there were pictures of Rhonda and Curly maternity photo shoot. There were drapes of blue and white hanging from the ceiling and soft music playing. At the end of the hallway, there are double doors that lead to the hall, next to the hall was a table that have table labels which have the names of people sitting in the specific table. Arnold, Helga, Gerald and Phoebe made their way to the hall to find their seats, the hall was even more beautiful than the outside. The tables that can sit six people covered with blue table cloth and white seat covers, the center pieces had blue and white flowers in clear vases with a red bow tied around it. The plates white with gold rims at the end, the gang made to their way to the table. The first couple of tables sat Rhonda family meaning her mom, dad, grandmother and grandfather; Curly mother and father as well sat in table one. The second table held Curly and Rhonda few close aunts and uncles. The third table sat Nadine and Peapod with their one-year old son, Lorenzo and Katrina with their baby girl Jasmine. The gang had table four where Lila and Stinky were also sitting. Making their way over to the table Lila looks up and her eyes gets bigger and filled with excitement.
"Oh my gosh! I can't believe it Helga." Screamed Lila
"Well you better believe it sister." Answered Helga
Lila ran up to the gang to give each of them a big hug but of course save Helga last, Lila gave her a hug first, next started rubbing her belly.
" I cannot believe it, how far along? How come I didn't know about it?"
"I am five months now and well you been busy at the hospital you have not been out to lunch with us." Answered Helga
"Gee Willikers Helga I must say you look more beautiful, you have a special glow on you." Said Stinky
"Why yes Helga, the pregnancy does compliant you very much. Beautiful." Said Lila
"Thank you Stinky and Lila, that is very sweet of you to say."
"No problem, I have to say congrats to you Arnold on the count you are the father."
"Thank you Stinky"
"Arnold are you ever so excited?" asked Lila
"Yes Lila, I am even more excited that we are closer to the due date."
"Awe beautiful, Gerald and Phoebe must be excited to soon meet their nephew or niece soon?"
"Nephew, I am having a boy as well Lila." Said Helga
"Oh, my goodness another boy in this group, we need some girls in this group."
"I must say I agree" said Phoebe
Helga was putting her bag down when she noticed something shiny in Lila
"Lila! Is that an engagement ring?" asked Helga
"Oh my gosh, yes, it is Stinky propose to me last week when we went back to Pleasantville to visit my grandma."
"Hey congrats! Another couple tying the knot." Said Gerald
"Yes, on congrats on the engagement and I must add about time to, you guys been together as long me and the football head here."
"Thank you, guys, I could not be any happier to be with the women I love." Said Stinky
"Have you guys set up a date yet?" asked Arnold
"No not yet, still up in cloud nine." Said Lila.
"Awesome, let us know the date." Said Arnold
"We will, oh look here come Harold and Patty with their son." Said Lila.
The gang turned to see Patty while she is holding Harold Jr, and Harold walked through the door, Lila waved them over to their table.
"Patty over here!" shouted Lila
"Lila, how are you?" Patty gave her son to his father and gave a hug to Lila, that when she noticed everyone else.
"Hey everyone! Are we sitting together?" Asked Patty
"Yes, we are, from what I see everyone is scattered around." Said Phoebe
Harold made his way to the men, while the women occupied the one side of the table
"Hey what up?" Harold said.
"Well we are waiting for Rhonda and Curly to show up but knowing her, she will show up late for her own party." Said Gerald.
Patty squealed, the men turn around to see Patty jumping up and down while holding Lila hand.
"I see someone got engaged, congrats Stinky and about time."
"Well willikers I been hearing that for a while now but I needed the right moment and that was it."
"Stinky we are happy for you and maybe soon you will be hearing little feet running around." Said Gerald
"Haha well I would love to have kids but I want some time with my wife as well. When we are ready, we want to bring four little ones into the world."
"Nice" Said Gerald
"I also hear someone is becoming a new dad." Harold turned turn around to look Arnold face.
"Yes Harold, Helga is five months pregnant and we are expecting a boy." Said Arnold
"Congrats man, I am so happy for you and amazing that our kids well grow up together." Said Harold.
"That is true, they will be amazing friends." Said Arnold
Their wives made their over to them, to take their seat since more people are coming in; it was getting a little crowed. They took their seats and since the wives has so much to catch up on they decided to sit together on one side and the husbands on the other while they continue chatting to each other and wait for the couple to arrive.
About forty-five minutes have passed and it seems that everyone had made it. The DJ made announcement that Curly and Rhonda were finally here and to stand up and give them a round of an applause. Rhonda was wearing a beautiful red long maternity dress that had a red bow wrapped around her waist showing off her round belly. It had small diamonds stitch around it and black flats, while Curly just wore black's pants with a white polo shirt. Curly was the first to grab the mic:
"Hello everyone, first I want to thank everyone for coming to Rhonda and I baby shower, we are excited to be having our first child. We are already counting down the days till our son is born, we are already ready for the adventure that coming ahead of us."
Curly passed the mic to Rhonda:
"Hello everyone, thank you for coming to our fabulous baby shower, I am so excited and soon we will be seeing our son's face. Alright everyone we have some activity plan for you guys this evening. So, if anyone want to participate you can sign up to any activity, we have amazing prizes, the first activity which will be how fast you can diaper a baby, it will start in an hour." Said Rhonda
Curly and Rhonda made their way down stairs to mingle with family and friends, what people didn't notice there was a figure made its way in without being seen.
Rhonda was the first to reach Helga and the rest of the gang and of course being Rhonda, she saw the magazine where Arnold and Helga announce their baby.
"Well I must say that was unexpected of you, I honestly thought you would tell us after the baby is born."
"haha well princess I decided to do something unpredictable and I never got a chance to say congrats on your baby boy."
"Thank you, just one more month till he is here; so how are you feeling?"
"I am feeling tired and always hungry, have you ever had weird cravings?" Asked Helga
"Yes, I did, you should see what I ate and poor Curly he would always have to get up at three in the morning to get me something to eat. Now the baby is moving a lot, he is becoming restless usually means he is coming soon. What about you? What is the gender of your baby?" asked Rhonda
"Well Rhonda I am having a boy as well (Rhonda squealed) and well he moves only at night so he is keeping me up. Same Arnold does have to make night trips to get me food as well, poor thing he get so tired he has to sleep on the couch when he has to drop off the food." Said Helga.
"What you mean he has to sleep on the couch and drop off food?"
Helga just notice her mistake, she had to think fast to distract Rhonda from her slip up; she turns around and saw Lila talking to Phoebe and she had the perfect plan.
"Oh, did Lila tell you the good news?" Asked Helga
Rhonda eyes went big and turn to look at Lila finger
"Oh, my goodness Lila…" squealed Rhonda
Helga felt relieved that the attention was off her, she went back to the girls. While the girls were talking the guys their way to the bar, to take a break from the girls.
"So, I just heard we have a new father and a new engaged man?" Asked Curly
"Guilty" said Stinky and Arnold at the same time
As the guys were talking, they still didn't notice a figure staring at them and their wives; this person was making sure it was not being seen by anyone. After an hour passed and the first activity was starting. This activity was for the men only, so Arnold, Curly, Gerald, Stinky and some other fours which seems to be soon to be father or not fathers yet. Each man got their own babies, diapers and wipes the timer was set to see who finish first. The horn was rung and the men went to work, all you see men rushing and old diapers from the doll flying. The horn was rung and first place winner was Arnold.
"Alright Arnold won first place, Curly second and Gerald third congrats guys and to Ms. Shortman that a good sign for you." Said the DJ
"Well that does help." Screamed Helga
Arnold made his way to his wife gave her a big hug and a small kiss on her lips. The next event was staring and Arnold took Helga to the table since her feet was staring to hurt. He made his way to the bar to get himself a drink and a soda for Helga. While he was waiting for the drinks a figure made his way behind him.
"Hello Arnold…"
That voice made Arnold froze, he turned around a saw the one person he hopes he never sees but at the same time he saw his life flash before his eyes.
Yes! Many of you guess it, yes, I am bringing Lola into the baby shower. Please do not hate me, for the other chapter I am really having a hard time writing it. So please give me time. ILY guys and thank you for following the story.
