All the toys gathered in the center of the room to mediate their new problem. Ray and Tikal released Mighty from Spencer's collar and laid him down nearby as the others talked. Everyone was disturbed and panicking from Sonic's capture, Amy was panicking the worst out of all.
"This can't be happening, this can't. Be. Happening…"
Rouge tried to give her any comfort at all during a time like this. Knuckles stood next to her with his fist slamming into each other in rage and Tikal walked over to calm him down.
"Once I find that kidnapper, I'm gonna-"
"Relax, Knuckles. I understand what just happened, but there is nothing we can do."
"But- We just… can't…" Knuckles sighed in defeat, only for Amy to cry even more.
Tails was the only one who wasn't with the group, but was sitting with his knees in his face next to the pillow on Scott's bed. It wasn't hard to notice he was trying to cry as well, even if he couldn't shed a single tear. Sonic was his best friend, even if he wasn't the same one they see everywhere now. In his breakdown, he starts to remember all the memories he had with him. One time he was being played with while on an adventure with Sonic. He pretended that his entire room was some kind of dangerous battleground as they dodged obstacles and drops. Speaking of drops, he remembered the time he wasn't paying attention while walking and fell off the bed before Sonic catched him. "You gotta be careful, buddy!" he remembered him scolding. What's going to happen now?
Tails stopped his mind from racing once he felt a disturbance in the bed sheets.
"Tails?" It was Tikal. The orange ancient Echidna walked up and sat down next to him. Her chaotic, liquid friend was close behind.
"Are.. Are you-"
"No." Tails interrupted.
"I thought so…" Tikal sighed.
"Th-This was the first spot I met him, you know…" Tikal didn't say a word as he continued. "Once I was fresh out of the box, I saw him. I… may have overreacted when I did. I thought he was the Sonic I was supposed to know, but he wasn't."
"What did you do?" She asked with curiosity.
"I kinda tried to hide under the bed sheets at first, but Sonic was able to convince me out. Heh… He didn't care how I acted, he just… accepted me on the spot I guess."
Tikal gave a small smile, "That sounds a lot like our Sonic. That's almost like how you met originally, correct?"
"Y-Yeah. That's how I knew he really was Sonic and I felt safe around him." Tails' smile started to rise but fell almost immediately. "But now he's gone… gone forever…" he whispered as he hugged his knees even closer.
"Maybe not." A gruff voice spoke across the bed. All 3 heads turned towards the source to see Shadow had returned from the street.
"What do you mean?" Tikal raised an eyebrow.
"I know where he is or at least where he could be…"
"Where?! Tails screeched.
"Kev's Figures." He calmly replied.
Others were now climbing on top after hearing what he just said.
"The action figure store? How do you know that?" Rouge asked.
"The license plate on the car, It literally spelled out the name."
"But if he's there, how do we get there? We don't even know where it is!" Amy exclaimed.
Everyone went silent, they knew she was right. Tails lost his last spark of hope and returned curling into a ball and Tikal placed a hand on his back. Chaos on the other hand, looks past them to the table next to them. He thinks for a moment before getting up and jumping onto the table. Tikal notices his behavior and questioned him,
"Chaos? What are you doing?"
Chaos didn't turn around as he headed towards the TV remote laying idly. He used one of his long fingers to press the power button and activated the TV. He then turned to the others and seeing their confusion, he raised his hand towards the screen, hinting to it. No one understood what he was getting at, but Amy got the wrong idea and was enraged.
"What is wrong with you?!" she screamed.
She moved closer to the edge of the bed and got onto the table as she continued yelling.
"We just lost our longest and dearest friend and all you want to do is watch TV?!"
She got right up in his face while he had his hands above his shoulder and shaking his head profusely. Tikal sprung up and ran to catch up with Amy before she did anything she would regret.
"Hold on! I'm sure that's not what he meant!"
"Then what did he mean, oh goddess of chaos?" Amy mocked.
"Spirit Guardian…" Tikal corrected. "I'm sure he is trying to help, we just have to realize it."
Chaos nodded to everything Tikal said as she defended him. Chaos is just a being of pure chaos and his form is made of plastic to look like water with no actual limbs. He was a translucent blue color and the only thing you can see through him was his eyes and plastic brain. He has no mouth so he has to rely on his movements and actions to communicate. Tikal is who understands him the most.
"You understand him, Tikal. What is he trying to say?" Knuckles asked.
Tikal turned around to look at Chaos, then at the TV. Commercials were playing at the moment during their broadcasting cycles. Commercials… Kev's Figures… The Commercial!
"That's it! The commercial!" Tikal beamed.
Chaos nodded in relief, but the others were still lost.
"What commercial?" Rouge this time asked.
"The commercial for the store! If we can find it, then we'll know where he is!"
Everyone's eyes beamed with joy as hope had returned to them, even to Tails.
"Then, we can save him!" Tails proclaimed.
"Well then, what are we waiting for? Let's get to searching!" Knuckles cried out.
Meanwhile, Sonic was still trapped inside the carrying bag as he felt it swinging side by side. Where was this man taking him? Why was he so special that he needed to steal him from Scott? His mind was racing until the swinging stopped and he felt the bag being dropped onto a hard surface. He froze as he heard the zipper of the bag begin to unzip and a hand grabbed him. He was taken out of the bag and placed in a small glass case in what seemed like a small room, almost like an apartment room.
"I can't believe I finally found him! At long last, I can finally-" His speech was interrupted by his cell phone ringing in his pocket. He reached for it and answered it.
"Yeah…? Are you kidding me, now…? No… Look, I'll be there in a second… I was just in the middle of something really important… Yes, I'm on my way." He ended the call and chuckled. "You, my hedgehog friend, are gonna make me a millionaire!"
He turned around for the door and left the room. As soon as he shut the door, Sonic came to life and panicked. He had horrible memories of being stored in a small box away from everything. He pushed the magnetic glass door open and jumped down on the floor. He ran to the double doors of the room and jumped for its handle, but his jumps were not high enough to reach. He stopped and looked around and found a window to the outside. He jumped onto a chair next to it and moved the blinds out of the way, only to see him on the highest floor of the building he was in. Jumping down is way out of the question, but he didn't see any houses or suburbs anywhere. Meaning he was far, far away from Scott's home.
"Scott…" He whispered as he placed both hands on the glass.
Next, he jumped down and saw an air vent. Maybe he could use that to escape and get back home, but it was stuck from one of the screws still attached. He pulled and pulled hoping it would break free, until the sound of a box being opened forcefully was heard. He turned around slowly and saw an open box with packing peanuts scattered everywhere, but what was unusual about it was that there was a faint trail of them slowly towards Sonic.
"What the-"
The next thing he knew, he was in a tight hold by an unknown force swinging him side to side. The sudden grab was so tight, he was barely able to breathe correctly.
"Bro! You're back! You're finally back!" his captor yelled.
Sonic struggled to get out of his grip, but was able to release one arm and use it to punch him in the face. He was released instantly as the punch connected and his captor fell to the ground. Sonic tried to catch his breath and see who caught him, but yet another hold caught him once more.
"Oh, come on!" He complained.
"Sonic! You're finally back with us! It's been so long…" his second captor spoke.
"Rgh! Let me go, or I'll- Wait…" Sonic pulled himself out of the new hold and took a look at the newcomer. At first, he almost mistook her for Amy.
She was a hedgehog and had a similar color scheme, but her skin was much more of a darker pink than her hair which was nearly covering her face. She wore a dark red, sleeveless top, a dark purple miniskirt, and a gold belt with a round, blue gem in the center of the belt. She had red pants under her skirt with dark purple spots on the knees and thin, purple stripes on each of her thighs, a pair of dark purple boots with red toes. She was also wearing long, purple gloves that go halfway past her elbows. But what caught his eyes the most, was that she also had a similar looking medallion on her neck just like him in the shape of a keyboard instead of a guitar.
"How…" He looked over to his first captor and thought he saw a clone of himself… If he was green and has messy quills.
Besides his similar appearance to Sonic, he was also a hedgehog and wore only a simple orange vest with a fanny-pack on his side. He had two piercings on his left ear and spikes on the wrists of his gloves. His medallion was the shape of a drum set.
"W-Who…"
"Well, well, well… Look who finally decided to show up."
Sonic spun around towards the box where his captors came from and saw two new figures in front of him. The first was some kind of buff, tall, orange dingo wearing nothing but green shorts, a belt, and purple glasses. He was helping another figure step on out of the box before stopping to say something.
"You certainly took your time, you meddling hedgehog."
This figure was a lot more thin than the dingo. He looked more of a gray wolf bounty hunter with his black suit with red body armor and purple-ish cape.
Sonic didn't know them at all, yet they all knew him. 'Who are they? What's going on? How do they know me?' He thought, but before he could even make a sound, a loud and demanding voice yelled out a command.
"Sleet! Dingo! Get me out of here so I can see, for crying out loud!"
The wolf let out a groan as he went back in to push out a new, smaller box from the packaging. The other two hedgehogs whine when they see him come out. Sonic didn't know why. That is, until he saw who it was. Standing inside the never opened box, was none other than Dr. Robotnik! He had a slightly longer mustache and had a robotic arm, but the red and yellow suit, his orange mustache, and bald head was a dead give away. Sonic felt anger rise once more, just like in his dream. He clenched his fist so hard, it could almost break itself apart.
"Robotnik! What are you doing here, Egghead?"
"Egghead?" Robotnik repeated. "What kind of insult is that, hedgehog?"
"Huh?" Sonic lowered his fists in confusion, "You've never heard-"
"Hey, hedgehog brats!" The wolf interrupted, still standing by the packaging box. "Forgetting someone?" He pointed at said box.
"How many times have I told you, Sleet! Stop calling my children, brats!" A feminine voice scolded.
"Mom!" The two other hedgehogs gasped.
"Aw, man! How did we forget!" The green hedgehog figure asked.
"Let's just get mother out, she has to see this!" The pink hedgehog figure answered.
They both ran and jumped inside, a few packing peanuts flying out in the air above.
"Mother?" Sonic just stood there in bewilderment, but the others seemed to be alright with it. After a few moments of rustling in the box, the green one stepped onto the top and looked back down towards the pink one. She was pushing some kind of new box out very carefully as the green hedgehog helped.
"Careful, Manic!" She yelled out.
"I am, Sonia. Calm down." The one named 'Manic' complained.
"Sonia, Manic! Please stop arguing with each other- Woah!"
The box they were both trying to carefully take out, fell and landed face first to the floor. Sonia and Manic both gasp in horror at what they just did. Sonic took this as his moment to help, maybe this will be enough of a distraction from his confusion.
"I gotcha!" Sonic ran and lifted the box upright and the front facing him.
What he saw next shocked him, but not as shocked as another hedgehog figure inside. She had dark purple hair, as well as purple fur and black eyes. She wore a gold crown with a single jewel in the center, white body armor, a white dress with a gold decoration on the skirt, and a long yellow cape with a heart-shaped pendant on the front. Behind her, was a dark red cape or cloak, possibly as an attachment.
They both gave out a gasp. The purple hedgehog clasped both her hands to her mouth and Sonic took a couple steps back, his confusion rose exponentially. But at the same time, he felt some kind of familiarity and understanding just by looking at her. 'Do I know her?' he thought.
"Sonic… My long lost son has returned." She whispered.
"S-Son?"
"I am your mother, Queen Aleena Hedgehog."
Sonic couldn't make heads or tails of anything anymore, all logic had left his mind.
"What's going on here?! Who are all of you? Since when did I have a mom? And how do you all know me-? Actually, scratch that last question."
Manic walked out of the box's shadow and spoke,
"You don't know?"
"He doesn't remember." Sonia added.
"Remember what?" Sonic asked.
Aleena slightly lowered her head in disappointment, but quickly raised it with a smile as he turned to her side.
"Children?"
Both Sonia and Manic caught on and looked at eachother with excitement as they darted towards the tv. Manic grabbed some kind of disc and pushed it into a player. Sonia stepped onto a button on a remote which turned the tv on. After the display lit up, it started playing some kind of loud guitar riff with a video of 3 different colored stars before a voice started singing.
"Triplets born, the throne awaits. A seer warns of a deadly fate! Give up your children, separate! Bide your time, lie in wait! Sonic Underground! Sonic Underground! They made a vow, their mother will be found!"
Sonic could only stare in awe as he watched, this caused the hedgehog family to smile as they watched along. The main villain and lackeys just gave an unexpressive look as they stared at the tv. Sonic just wondered how much he actually forgot all those years ago…
