Chapter Two: Awkward Reintroductions: Loki, Loni and Luke

"Damn. Is everyone alright?" Lisa asked, though something was wrong with her voice. She didn't recognize it.
"Yeah." Came another unfamiliar voice.
"What? Who is that?"
"Who are you?"

"I'm Lisa." Lisa said.
"I'm literally Lori." Lori said, though her voice was much deeper and raspier.
"Hey, dudes… What happened?" Someone asked as the lights came back on. The house had some self-reparative abilities. It could run self-diagnostics and fix things within itself. This had been a minor shock to the house's electric grid and things had shut down temporarily to avoid unnecessary damage.

"Whoa! Lori! Is that you, dude?" Luna asked. Luna rubbed 'her' throat, hating the way 'she' sounded.

"Of course it's literally me!" Lori protested.

"Yeah, but you're like… A dude…" Luna said, grabbing a mirror and handing it to Lori. Lori snatched the mirror out of Luna's hand, gasping as 'she' saw her face.

"LISA!" Lori screamed. Lisa rushed downstairs, gasping as 'she' saw 'her' family.

"I may have made a little whoopsie daisy with my machine. Now, before you look in a mirror and freak out, I want you to take deep breaths and try to calm yourselves." Lisa said, having her android hold up a large mirror.

"DAMNIT! LISA! WHAT DID YOU DO!" Lynn Jr. demanded, enraged now.
"My Gender Affirmation Machine may have activated prematurely and affected a larger area than I intended.

"The machine was designed to target a single person. But it was showing some malfunctions. It seems to have overheated and released a burst of energy throughout the house. That may be why the lights went off briefly. It used up enough electricity that the house's central computer believed that there was a surge. And rather than allow there to be damage, it shut off. But I'm sure that's not what you're interested in."
"Oh, really? Is that what you're sure of?" Lori demanded viciously.

"You literally better fix this pronto! I have to get back to my Boo Boo Bear and I CAN'T go back to him and my kids like this!" Lori snarled.
"Why not? You're still their parent. You're no less of a mother. I'll have the machine repaired as soon as I can. For the time, I recommend going shopping for clothes that will suit your current needs. For the boys, panties won't do, I can almost assure you." Lisa said calmly as though nothing was seriously wrong. This was just getting Lori angrier.

"As it is, you may want to choose male names for yourselves for the time. I should have the machine repaired within a week. I'll try to have you turned back into your old selves by then." Lisa said.

"Eeeeehh! This is great! I've always wondered what Linky would look like in girl clothes! Now I get to see for myself!" Leni squealed happily, running upstairs to the attic and grabbing some of last season's women's clothing line from her clothes.

"These clothes are a little out of season. Mrs. Carmichael gave them to me because they were from my clothing line and they were last season's clothes. But I'm sure they'll totes look great on you! Now, for everyone else, I should be able to get some guy clothes for us." Leni said.

"Of course you would already have clothes for Stinkin!" Lynn Jr. sneered, still angry about Lisa's machine.

"I should just destroy that thing!" Lynn yelled.

"If you do, it will be months before you can go back to being a woman." Lisa said coolly. Lynn growled angrily at her, storming up to her room.

Days went by and things had gotten back to normal enough. The girls were guys and Lynn Sr. and Lincoln were girls. But they had chosen their genderbent name as Linka called it. They had Loki, Loni, Luke, Lane, Lynn, Linka, Lars, Leif, Lexx, Levi and Leon. Lynn Sr. kept her name and Rita called herself Randy. They were not happy with Levi, but they were mostly leaving him alone for the time so that he could run repairs on the machine. Somewhere inside them, they knew Levi hadn't done it on purpose. Even the most brilliant scientists' inventions were bound to fail sometimes.

Loki had gone back to Bobby and 'his' kids. Needless to say, they were shocked at what they saw.
"So… Are you not my babe anymore?" Bobby asked uncertainly.

"No, no! Boo Boo Bear! I'm literally still the same person! Lisa's stupid machine just turned me into a guy! Goddamnit! How do you handle facial hair? It's so itchy!" Loki protested, scratching his face.
"Well, I generally shave. I can show you how, Babe, if you want." Bobby said.

"Yeah, I guess I'm gonna literally have to get used to it for now. What are you looking at!" Loki demanded, snarling at Par, who had come over to hang with Bobby and couldn't help glancing at Loki occasionally. The last thing Par ever thought he'd hear was that Lori had become a man.

"Nothing!" Par exclaimed, looking away. Bobby took Loki up to the bathroom and showed him how to apply the cream to his face and then how to shave without cutting himself.

Loki still cut himself several times throughout the session, but did pretty well.

"So, are we just gonna be like bros for now? Or can we still… You know?" Bobby asked nervously. He didn't want to put pressure on Loki to do something he wasn't comfortable with.

"Well if we do make love, I'm literally going to be on top. Nobody's putting anything back there in me." Loki said.

"That's fine. I've never actually done that with another person. But sometimes I do it by myself." Bobby said, blushing slightly. Loki chuckled. He hadn't known that about Bobby, though it didn't really bother him. Back when he was Lori, she went on golf tours and Bobby was on his own. If that was how he satisfied himself, it was fine.

"Not sure if I'm bigger or smaller than your toys, but we'll literally have to see." Loki said.

"I'm gonna head out, Bobby… You and Loki clearly have some catching up to do. I don't want to be in the way." Par said, getting his shoes on and heading out.

"Well, that was convenient. You want to see how we do together now?" Bobby asked, kissing Loki on the lips. Loki hesitated, but leaned in. He wasn't really feeling it, not in his new body. But he didn't want to disappoint Bobby.

"Why don't we take this to our room? The kids are at Abuela's house, we can take our time." Bobby said, taking Loki to their room, gently pushing his shirt over his head, stroking his chest lightly. Bobby kissed Loki's chest slowly, moving down to his pants.

"Mmm… Boo Boo Bear… I-I don't think… This is gonna work…" Loki sighed.

"Sorry, Boo Boo Bear… I'm just not up for it. Maybe when Levi turns be back into a woman, we can celebrate." Loki sighed.

"Oh… Yeah. No problem." Bobby said, getting his own clothes back on and going downstairs with Loki. He had actually been kind of excited to see what Lori looked like as a guy. But he also didn't want to pressure her. This was obviously going to be a big adjustment for her… Him.

"Gavin… I know this is like, totes weird. But I hope you can still love me while I'm… Like this…" Loni said shyly.
"Of course I still love you, Leni. You're still the person I married, even if you're in a different body temporarily… It is temporary, right?" Gavin asked hopefully.

"Ummm… I think so? Lisa said she was going to fix the machine and turn us back." Loni said.

"Okay, Len… I'm not going anywhere. I'm sure that Lisa will turn you back into a girl soon. He kissed Loni on the cheek lightly. Loni blushed slightly. Though he was a man now, he still was attracted to Gavin. He was still a woman inside. Is this what transgender people felt like?

"Why don't we work on something nice for dinner?" Loni offered, going to the kitchen. He wasn't a great cook, but Gavin was really good and Loni could help.

Gavin had noticed that Leni had gotten a lot smarter over the years. Leni hadn't told him. She didn't want to mess up the explanation, so she just said that Lisa had helped her. In fact, almost all the older siblings had been implanted with bionics and neurotech. Leni was still on the low end of average intelligence. She wasn't the brightest in the family or even of the older siblings. But she was able to carry on conversations better now. She could stay with trains of thought and didn't get lost in her own mind as easily.

"Len, grab the garlic from the fridge?" Gavin asked. Loni nodded, grabbing the garlic.

"Get some shredded cheese as well?" Gavin asked. Loni got the cheese as well. The two worked for a while on dinner, finally putting it in the oven and cooking it, sitting down together.

"This is an incredible house, Leni… Did Lisa really invent this whole house?" Gavin asked.

"I think so. She's really smart and I don't get a lot of what she says." Loni said.

"But she's talked about how she created a house that could serve all of a person's needs. Linky compared it to that Disney movie, Smart Home." Loni said.

"That's interesting. I've met Lisa once or twice. She always seems lost in her work." Gavin said.

"She's working on something called nuclear fusion. Something about making Hydrogen atoms smash together and make Helium." Loni said. Gavin whistled, impressed.

More about how well Loni was able to speak now.

"You know, I bet you could tell me what Lisa did to help you so much." Gavin said.

"She gave me bionics and something called Neurotech." Loni said.

"I'm sorry I had to turn into a guy to tell you that. Lisa cut me open and replaced my organs with mechanical organs. She also put bionics in my spine and brain. She called it Neurotech." Loni said.

Gavin gasped.

"Whoa! That's like mad scientist level stuff."
"No! No! All the older siblings… And Lincoln have it. I think we all do. She wanted to have a larger group of people to test her bionics on. And well, she's running professional testing now. She's trademarked it and is going to release it as soon as possible to help people who need new organs. Lisa says it will… Revolutionize organ replacements." Loni said.

The oven dinged and Loni went out and took it out, setting it on a potholder, opening up the foil on top, breathing in deep. It smelled great. They sat down together, scooping out some for each of them and eating.

"Hey, Sammy…" Luke said anxiously, smiling at her. Sam was still processing what had happened. Sam had been silent for a long time. She wasn't looking at Luke. They had gone about their day. Finally, after what seemed like forever, Sam spoke.

"Is this permanent?" Sam asked.
"No! No, of course not! Lisa promised us that she'd get it fixed as soon as possible." Luke said

"Okay… Okay, yeah… Yeah, that's… That's good." Sam said.

"Sammy, what's wrong?" Luke asked gently.

"I just… This is all so much to process. You're a guy… I just…"

"Sammy… I'm still the same person I was before. It was just a lab accident. Lisa's machine went haywire and turned us all into the opposite sex." Luke said.

"Y-yeah… I know, but…"
"Sammy, I'm still your fiancée… Right?" Luke asked, worried now that Sam was going to break up with her.

"Of course you are! But you know I'm a lesbian." Sam said.

"I know… Does that mean I can't live here?"

"It means I need some time to process all this! It means this is all a lot to try to make sense of. I'm not kicking you out. This is both our home and I still love you, but… It's hard to understand how you could go to your parents' house a woman and come back a man. I know Lisa has some crazy inventions. But this is just… How? How does anyone, even Lisa, create a machine that turns someone from one gender to another?" Sam asked. Luke sighed. He could see why Sam was overwhelmed.

"I need to go out for a run anyway." Luke said, having already gotten dressed in his jogging clothes.

"Do you want to come with me? Maybe we can both clear our heads a bit. I'm having a bit of trouble accepting being a guy. This doesn't feel natural to me." Luke said. Sam sighed.
"I understand. Let's get going." Sam said, putting on her own jogging clothes. Sam had gotten Luna into working out with her. It was something they could do together.

Sam smiled at Luke. She knew that she had no interest in cuddling or kissing with Luke. Even if Luke was Luna, he was a man. Sam didn't think she could go there with a man. It just wasn't something she could do. They went out running. They were out for over an hour. Sam was impressed that Luke was doing so well. He was able to run almost the whole five miles. Even aside from his bionic heart and lungs, which allowed Luke an enhanced constitution. With his bionic lungs, he almost never ran out of breath, even going uphill. With his bionic heart he almost never had a racing heart.

He could hold his breath underwater for almost half an hour because his lungs recycled Oxygen for him within his body. It was an amazing system that allowed him almost perfect physicality. Sam had the bionics as well. She had been excited about them, though Luna had been most excited about the bionic voice box, which enhanced her singing. She had improved her singing voice to nearly the best of human ability. She was even getting good at doing operatic singing.

The two got home after running and took turns taking a shower. Usually, they would shower together. But as it was right now, there was no chance Sam was showering with Luke. They then went about getting dinner ready and went about their individual evenings.
