From a certain aesthetic standpoint, the glacier that dominated the main street of Musutafu was more visually appealing than the road. Mount Lady had to disagree, especially as she was helping other Heroes clean it up after the League had, yet again, escaped.
Not just that, but they'd left another little USB filled with damning information on various crimes the bank had committed. Continually charging accounts for people that had died, wiring away a small but noticeable amount from some people's accounts to set up an off-shore account - it felt good to be busting up something like this, but it also meant that the Heroes had to stay for an official investigation.
And to top it all off, the League of Super Villains had just dumped several tons of ice down a street, forcing them to clean it up. She sighed, grabbing another chunk of ice and hauling it away. "How much blame is the HPSC throwing at us for not knowing Mastermind had recruited an ice Villain this powerful?"
Death Arms looked over at the small representative who, per HPSC regulations regarding notorious Villains, had been forced to meet them on site. After a year of dealing with the League of Supervillains' increasing escalation and general tomfoolery and pressure from his own higher-ups, the pen-pusher looked like he was about to collapse. "I'm not sure - after all, we tried to catch them, only to be blindsided by a new Villain on their team, and one with a mass scale Ice Quirk. We didn't hear anything from HPSC approved sources about this, so…" He simply shrugged.
The small man slumped slightly. "...Your conduct has been impeccable," he muttered. "Just… just clean this up. Make sure your paperwork's submitted on time."
Mount Lady managed to keep her face straight as he slumped off to his car. As the League of Supervillains kept escaping and escalating, his snooty, lecturing attitude had started draining. After the first year of Mastermind being free and annoyingly public, the entire HPSC was desperately having to update regulations to try and keep up. "You think we're ever going to catch a break with Mastermind and his case?" She asked, managing to push a lump of ice to the side where it could be broken down further.
Kamui Woods shrugged from where he had set up a blockade, directing traffic around the giant hunk of ice. "I have no idea. But in their overconfidence, they will slip up and make a mistake, and we will be there! Justice will ultimately prevail!"
A couple of passers-by cheered upon hearing that. Mount Lady managed a thumbs up as she grit her teeth to haul another lump of ice. Even though it was unlikely, she found herself hoping that the League was having a hard time managing their freedom.

In the League of Super Villains' Evil Lair (also known as Gentle Criminal's apartment), Mastermind held up a cup of tea. "A toast to our newest member, Lady de Winter!"
Fuyumi couldn't help but smile as she raised her own cup of tea to match the cheers, the rest of the League joining in. "You didn't have to go to all this trouble," she said, taking a sip of tea.
Midoriya looked affronted. "Why not? You're one of us now."
Bushijima cheered, a huge smile on his face. "Guess what? I'm not the newest member of the team anymore!"
Kaneshiro groaned at that. "Yeah, yeah… You're still a junior though!"
"Shut up, man!" Bushijima paused, thinking about it before turning to Fuyumi with a cheeky grin. "Guess I'm your senpai now."
In spite of herself, she smiled. "I guess so. However…" Her smile took a cheekier edge. "I think I managed to beat you in terms of take-downs."
"She's got you there, Bushi," Bubaigawara crowed. "No she doesn't!"
"You're idiots, the lot of you," Stitch grumbled half-heartedly.
"Wow, you really do care!" Bubaigawara cried, giving the doctor a thumbs up. "I feel a lot better after that sit-down session!"
"Still not a therapist."
Sidney grinned at him. "Doesn't stop you from sitting us on couches and asking us to talk about our fathers or whatever." Stitch threw a pen at her in response.
While the rest of the League bantered, Midoriya beamed at her, clapping his hands. Spotlights activated all over the lair, while Mr. Compress threw confetti around. "So to celebrate this monumental day, we're going to have an official welcome party for Todoroki, with-"
"Karaoke and beer!" Inkblot shouted, tapping the large computer that Mastermind had installed. The screen lit up, displaying 'KARAOKE SONGS - EVIL MIX,' a long list of songs displayed with a microphone and a stylised graphic for the League of Super Villains.
Fuyumi snorted at that. Even after all the exposure she had had to Midoriya wanting to be seen as a dangerous Villain, things like this just made her laugh.
"What kind of songs are you looking for?" Notou's voice chirped.
Kaneshiro jumped slightly. "Eesh, I forgot you could talk now!" He turned to Midoriya with a weirded out look on his face. "Why did you make an A.I again, dude?!"
Midoriya shrugged. "Seemed cool?"
As one, the rest of the League shook their heads in exasperation for that reason, before the festivities started up. Within a few minutes, the party was in full swing. Kaneshiro, out of his suit and in jeans, stood up to do a scratchy rendition of Gangnam Style on Bushijima's urging. Manami and Danjuro continued to drink tea, cheerfully watching him awkwardly dance.
Sidney when out of her costume had pulled out a large mug of beer, the cat woman leaning back on the couch with Stitch, the alcoholic doctor crossing his arms with a face that said he was definitely not enjoying the celebrations. Mr. Compress started showing off some magic tricks, apparently producing cards from behind Midoriya's ear while their leader enthusiastically acted. Bubaigawara clapped each act, before spinning around and declaring that he 'totally knew how the trick worked.'
Fuyumi couldn't help but smile - while also keeping an eye on Midoriya and Kaneshiro to make sure that they weren't having any alcohol. While she knew that the other adults were responsible enough, it never hurt to check.
"What story didja give Endeavour about being out tonight?" Sidney asked.
She took a swig of beer. "I said I was hanging out with some friends." Fuyumi grinned. "Well, I'm not technically lying about that."
Kaneshiro flopped on the chair nearby, grinning widely like his name, golden skin shining with sweat. "Yeah, I told my mum pretty much the same thing - welcoming a new coworker and friend, that kinda thing."
Sidney cooed at that. "Nice to hear you're rebelling, Todoroki!"
Fuyumi shrugged, sitting back in her chair. "It's not really rebelling - more me bending the truth a bit." She shrugged, taking another sip. "My father and my feelings about him are…" she looked for a word, settling on, "complicated… but if there's one thing I'm sure about, it's that he does care about our family's safety - in his own way."
Kaneshiro looked angry at that. "You don't hate him? After everything he did-"
She held up her hand to cut him off. "Oh, I know what he did, and I'm not going to forget any time soon." Fuyumi looked at her bottle of beer, sighing. "But I also remember my father before his obsession with beating All Might consumed him. And… Well, he wasn't the best dad of all time. But he did care about us all."
The other Villains paused, looking over at her. Midoriya hummed. "That's - that's good to hear."
Kaneshiro hummed at that. "Sounds better than my dad, at least. If I never see him again it'll be too soon." He scowled at that, and Fuyumi winced.
Sidney looked over at Midoriya. "Come to think of it, Midoriya - what's your dad like?" When Midoriya started slightly she paused. "I - I mean, if it's bad I'll stop asking but… we haven't really seen or heard anything about your dad."
"No, no, it's not really a rude question, just… My dad doesn't really like having photos taken of him except for the wedding and other important ones, and we keep those in the album mostly. As for not talking about him… I just forgot?"
…That seems accurate, Fuyumi had to admit. Looking at the rest of the League and seeing similar expressions on their faces, she wasn't the only one. She cleared her throat. "Do you mind showing us a picture?"
He beamed at her. "Oh sure, no problem!" Midoriya reached into his waistcoat and pulled out his wallet, pulling out a photo. "Here's my dad, right there!"
Fuyumi looked at the picture, interested. It was just a standard family photo of a mother and father with an enthusiastic kid between them. The man in the picture looked very similar to Midoriya - they had the same fluffy, curly hair and freckles, and Fuyumi had to admit that she had only seen Midoriya wear a tie that badly fastened before. The unhinged grin seemed to have been passed down as well, both father and son grinning in front of some hideously complicated piece of machinery while his mother watched in the background. But he was tall and rake thin where Midoriya was short, toned and fit, black haired and eyed compared to his son's green, and had dark bags and circles under his eyes.
Midoriya just smiled fondly. "My dad works for a Support company in America called OxCorp - but we stay in touch over Zoom and other programs!"
Sidney grinned. "Sounds like he's a pretty good dad. You mind telling us his name?"
"Sure, it's not a problem." Midoriya shrugged. "His name is-"
—
At his desk, Midoriya Jack coughed deeply, a small tongue of flame passing his lips. He wondered if somebody was talking about him, before turning back to his screen. He double checked the designs for the new systems in the body armour Oxcorp was presenting at the Expo. Once he was happy with it, he submitted the design to the main engineers, before sitting back with a sigh.
Another email popped up from his boss. He looked at it and groaned, the dark circles under his eyes deepening when he saw their smug email. "No overtime, again?"
This was the third time this month that his bosses had denied him overtime pay. Never mind that he'd practically designed half their inventory for them, overtime was a no-go. For a moment, he wanted to step up and complain. Then he looked at one of the two pieces of memorabilia he had on his desk - a picture of his eight year old son wearing an All Might costume, grinning while Jack and Inko beamed at the camera.
A fond smile crossed his face as he saw his son and wife. He looked at the inscription he'd put in the first time his bosses' had forced him to work longer hours.
DO IT FOR THEM.
Sighing, Jack cracked his knuckles. Having heard about his son getting into U.A's Support Course and securing an internship with David Shield, he couldn't be prouder of Izuku for everything he'd done. "Well, just gotta stick this out for a bit longer until Izuku's graduated. Maybe they'll promote me some time?" He muttered to himself, adjusting his tie.
He could only hope that his boss would approve of him going to the Expo, at least.
—
"Jack? Really?"
Izuku chuckled when he heard Sidney's incredulous question. "Yeah, Dad's parents wanted him to have an English name - there was a bit of a craze for it when Dad was born."
Mr. Compress hummed. "That was when the American model of Heroics got a surge of popularity in Japan, wasn't it?"
"Yeah!" Izuku grinned. "Dad wanted to be a Hero but, uh, asthma and fire breath don't combine well. He thought that he could be a Hero like Iron Man but he just… doesn't have the stamina or muscle to do it."
Dad had been heartbroken when he hadn't passed the minimum physical requirements for being a Hero. Even with all the armour and other gadgets he had designed and employed, it wasn't enough to compensate for his poor health.
His dad hadn't let it get him down for long, though. Izuku had grown up with his dad constantly encouraging him to build bigger and better machines, while mum had made sure that they didn't level the house with their experiments. And even though his father had been worried about Izuku not having a Quirk, he had encouraged his son to try to be a Hero all the same.
That had been nice, even if Izuku had ultimately decided that being a Supervillain was better.
Then Izuku winced. "Unfortunately, the Support market in Japan wasn't as big as it is now, so Dad had to look for work everywhere. So he went to America because he could get more money for me and mum to live on!"
The rest of the League looked between each other. "Sounds like he's a good guy then," Todoroki said.
"Yeah, he is! Just…" Izuku's smile slipped a bit. "I just wish he'd stand up for himself a bit more, that's all - he keeps getting these long hours without overtime. And I'm pretty sure they haven't credited him with any of his work, which is a bit disappointing."
Manami and Danjuro frowned at that. "That's…"
Izuku sighed, before forcing a smile on his face. "Believe me, I'm working on something to deal with them. But that's for later! Tonight, we're celebrating our newest member!"
"YEAH!" The rest of the League roared.
The rest of the night was spent with embarrassing karaoke and dance routines. And Izuku wouldn't have it any other way.
—
Meanwhile, the Mastermind Task Force was having a rather less enjoyable time.
"Why is there so much paperwork for Mastermind…" Mount Lady groaned, rubbing her twitching hand.
Kamui Woods was similarly frazzled. "If I never have to do a Form 1908-C, it'll be too soon," he groaned.
Principal Nedzu gave them sympathetic looks. "It is important, regrettably." He looked over the paperwork for the League of Super Villains, pausing when he saw their newest member. "Especially since they have a heavy hitter like this."
Death Arms crossed his arms seriously. "Do you have any leads on who she could be?"
(From his apartment, Todoroki Natsuo watched the news with wide eyes. His eyes were fixed on the newest Villain as she hit a Hero with a wave of ice, freezing them in place. "Fuyumi…" He breathed.
Then his face split into a grin and he burst into laughter. "Damn it, sis! I'm mad I never thought about doing this to get under the old bastard's skin, but this is brilliant!"
His roommate looked at him oddly. "What are you talking about?"
He waved him off. "Nothing - just thought of something funny."
Natsuo sat back, resolving to never, ever tell anybody about this. If the old bastard found out about Fuyumi, he would probably have a heart attack. Or a stroke. Maybe both would be too much to hope for, but Natsuo could hope anyway.)
"Alas, no." Nedzu steepled his paws seriously. "Assuming that Lady de Winter is in her mid-twenties to early thirties, there are roughly thirty thousand women on the Japanese Quirk registry with ice Quirks - after all, it would be quite, quite easy for her to fake a weak Quirk and stay under the radar. If she is older, younger or not born in Japan, then the search widens considerably."
"So it's a similar problem to the League of Villains," Death Arms griped.
"It is quite frustrating, true." Nedzu sighed. "Still, I shall do what I can."
"Especially since Lady de Winter's now the biggest threat in the League of Super Villains," Mount Lady commented. "Considering how much firepower she has."
Nedzu shook his head sadly at that. "Alas, Mastermind is still the most dangerous of his group."
The rest of the taskforce stared at him. "...We needed to call in a couple of dozen Heroes to clean up that ice," Mount Lady started slowly. "There's still lumps of it on the sidewalk."
Kamui Woods shuddered. "I still feel like I'm in the middle of winter."
Nedzu shrugged. "True, true. I consider him the most dangerous for several reasons, but the simplest one is that he seems to have a knack for bringing out the best in his companions, as well as finding new, dangerous Villains."
He tapped the files. "Gentle Criminal and La Brava were C-lister Villains who had never robbed anything more notable than a convenience store before the bank robbery where they met him. Golden Grin was a D-lister who barely had any presence in the underworld - a couple of robberies, nothing more. Inkblot, another C-list Villain who bounced from fight club to robbery after her initial crime of blowing up the movie studio where she used to work. And then Stitch, a back-alley doctor who had no major crimes to his name and still adhered to his oath despite being stripped of his medical licence."
Nedzu grinned. "Mastermind took these minor Villains and united them. He has boosted their effectiveness with Support Gear as well as his unique charisma and leadership. Not to mention sourcing an apparent warper gate Quirk and two powerful elemental Quirks to work for him that haven't appeared on the registry at all!"
The rest of the Taskforce looked at each other uneasily. "When you put it like that…" Death Arms said, before shaking his head. "He really is a terrifying Villain, inspiring such loyalty."
—
"Hey now, you're a rock star, get the show on, go play!" Izuku sang, the rest of the League cheering him on. The party was starting to wind down, everybody just sitting back and relaxing as they wound down after a long day.
Sidney grinned tipsily, clinking her beer with Todoroki as he wound down. "Nice one, boss!"
Todoroki looked at him and Kaneshiro with a worried look. "It's a school night, isn't it? Shouldn't you be back home and in bed?"
Izuku shuffled a bit. "Well, I'm all up to date for the Finals. Plus, Mei and I have been working on something for the Hero students, so I'm fine-"
Todoroki raised a disapproving eyebrow. "Are you? If you don't get enough sleep, then you won't be able to focus in class. I know you want to stay up later, but you don't want to make your mother worry too much."
He opened his mouth to object, then wilted when she continued giving him a disapproving look. "...It's getting late. Maybe I should go home," he mumbled.
Kaneshiro snickered until Todoroki turned her disappointed stare on him. "Alright, alright…" he muttered, stomping off.
Aiba stared up at her with wide eyes. "I've never seen anybody get Izuku to back down like that…" she whispered.
Izuku shot Aiba a hurt look, then turned his eyes on Todoroki. "Traitors," he grumbled half-heartedly.
"Just looking out for you, Mastermind," she shot back with a grin.
With no other option, Izuku grumbled under his breath as he pulled on his coat.
—
Mount Lady and Kamui Woods nodded seriously, Kamui Woods looking particularly anxious. "Truly, he is a sinister figure."
"I can see why you're interested. I mean, super genius with crazy tech? Seems right up your alley," Mount Lady commented.
"Indeed. A charismatic leader and genius like Mastermind is dangerous for the wrong reasons."
"...The wrong reasons?" Death Arms asked.
Nedzu beamed at them. "Ultimately, Mastermind has been a positive force in spite of his damages. If not for the hundreds of millions of yen stolen from these businesses and the damage they have done to Heroes, I would be inclined to describe them as Vigilantes. Even then, he's a net positive compared to other Villains."
The three of them exchanged dark looks. Some positive force.
"Even if he has been a positive, he's still a Villain," Kamui Woods pointed out.
"Honestly, I'm surprised that All Might hasn't come to deal with them, especially since he recently moved to Musutafu," Mount Lady said.
When the other Heroes gave her pointed looks she shrugged. "Well, it's true."
"All Might is working on a… different case. One that I am also involved with," Nedzu stated. "Between that and his new duties as a teacher, he doesn't have much time for Mastermind and his ilk."
The Taskforce really couldn't argue with that.

Toshinori may have been drained after a long day keeping his time limit stretched to teach, but he still managed a tired smile as he saw Tsukauchi and Sir Nighteye. "Good to see you, my friends!"
Sir Nighteye tutted, fussing around him. "Have you been following your diet?"
Toshinori sighed, seeing Tsukauchi suddenly focus on him. "Yes, of course I have."
Tsukauchi blinked. "...Truth," he muttered, wide-eyed. "You - you've actually been following your dietary advice?"
"I have a lot more downtime than I did before," Toshinori admitted. He hesitated, then pushed on. "And I have to admit, taking more time to rest feels… good."
It felt like he was backing down or giving up to say that, but Toshinori felt better. His scars still ached, and there was no way he could breathe as freely as he once had. But his fatigue was draining away, and he felt more energetic than he had for a long time.
Sir Nighteye gave him a small, strained smile. "...Hopefully you're going to have a fine retirement."
Toshinori's eyes widened, before he returned it. "I truly hope so as well." He hadn't been able to muster the strength to tell David or Melissa about Sir Nighteye's prediction. All for One had been easy compared to that revelation.
Then the door of Toshinori's apartment burst in. "You damn well better, brat!"
Toshinori immediately shot up when he saw his old teacher/torturer, Gran Torino, come hobbling in with the aid of a cane. One for All fired up as old instincts screamed DANGER! "G-G-Gran Torino? What are you-?"
Gran Torino let out a short, bitter laugh. "Nedzu called me a couple of weeks ago about this whole situation." He frowned, jabbing his cane at Toshinori and causing him to leap backwards "Thought you could leave me out of this, didja?"
He swallowed. "I-I thought that you wanted to enjoy your retirement-"
"Oh, I did! But knowing that he's still alive, I can't just sit back, can I?" Gran Torino shot back, before plopping on a chair. He glanced up at Sir Nighteye and grinned. "Good to see you again, beanpole."
"Gran Torino," Sir Nighteye bowed. "Nedzu told me that you would be visiting tonight."
He stared at his old sidekick, confused. "Why didn't you-"
"In Nedzu's words, 'All Might will be so surprised when his old teacher shows up!' And I have to admit, your reaction was amusing." Sir Nighteye grinned, the traitor.
His master cackled. "The look on your face, Toshinori!" Then his face turned more serious. "Seriously, how have you been?"
Toshinori winced slightly guiltily. "S-sorry I haven't been in touch. I've been busy with teaching." Even knowing that he only had so much time in his muscle form (now barely an hour, a fact which still hurt) for Hero work, he was still exhausted trying to come up with teaching plans for 1-A and B.
Nedzu had offered some advice, as had Eraserhead. As payment, Eraserhead had been provided with several cat pictures.
Gran Torino and Sir Nighteye made understanding noises. "Yeah, teaching's like that," Gran Torino said. "Still, you might not have to do much for the final exams, at least."
Toshinori glanced between them. "Ah… Well, Nedzu's got a plan for the final exams for this year. I won't say much, but I am involved, quite extensively."
Sir Nighteye looked alarmed. "A surprise from Nedzu?" He shuddered. "...Terrifying."
When he had heard Nedzu's plans, he had thought they might be a bit extreme, as had the teachers. But Nedzu had overridden their concerns. "The League of Supervillains has acted with considerable impunity for the last year and a half, and the League of Villains has been far too brazen with their terrorist activities," he had said with a chipper tone. "So we must make our final exams more intense to compensate."
Still, as long as the students weren't too distracted, they should be fine.

Mina couldn't help but feel like she was forgetting something important. After several minutes wracking her brains, she shrugged, flopping back on her bed. Whatever it was, it couldn't be that important. Not when she had something as important as love on the line!
She grinned as she looked at her notes, especially the pinned photos of Melissa, Hatsume and Midoriya. Tomorrow, Operation Three-Way Ship would commence. It was going to be so great!

AN: Well, my loyal minions, I have returned! After a lengthy hiatus, during which time I watched a bunch of r/EntitledPeople stories on Youtube, I have decided to get back to what really matters.
So! The League of Super Villains is gearing up for their leaders' absence due to exams! Will Izuku pass his exams?
Also, we now have Midoriya Jack in the picture! This is officially more presence than Izuku's dad had in the original story. Honestly I had the idea that Midoriya Jack is Izuku's father for ages, I just never found a way to add him to the story. And Gran Torino, who I have to admit I forgot about until now.
As always, many thanks to Banchoking on SpaceBattles for helping me edit this mess, and to the guys on Discord for also helping with edits. You're all great. Please comment and like - your appreciation and ideas help make this series even better than it already is!
Next time… Three nerds finally get together! See you then!
