Less than a week earlier
The battle between Captain Grime, Sasha and King Andrias shown to be a brutal one. Dodging each other's moves. Captain Grime used the warhammer to hit the giant male salamander's right foot but King Andrias punched him hard to send him flying across the room.
Sasha was about to attack him and slash him with her sword but King Andrias used his massively long, thick and wide tail to hit Sasha, sending her flying across the room and against the wall. She slid down and looked to her left as she saw that King Andrias was charging after Anne, Charlie, Marcy and the Plantars when he shouted "The Box!" in desperation.
To both Sasha and Captain Grime's shock, King Andrias sword literally stabbed Marcy from her back.
"MARCY!" cried Sasha.
"Hey King Andrias! I got a present for ya! Your gonna love how sharp my wits are!" cried Charlie in defiance.
Sasha and Captain Grime saw Charlie toss his machete and a needle forward and the needle hit Marcy in one of her legs as she fell and collapsed to the floor while the machete had impaled King Andrias through his left leg, causing him to scream in agony at the pain that he felt when the machete stabbed him in the leg.
Marcy fell to the floor and dropped the box as it hit the floor. Causing a bright flash of white light to flash all around everyone like they were about to be transported to Earth. Once the light faded, they saw that both Anne, Charlie and the Plantars were gone and back to Earth, the box had black smoke coming out of it like a car engine that needed serious work done on it.
Marcy was unconscious but her body was starting to glow a bright gold light all around her but it was showing to be glowing all around her body in a way that looked as though it flickered like a light being turned on and off.
"No... they managed to open the portal... Well, no matter." said King Andrias as he groaned in pain and snapped his fingers.
Once he snapped his fingers, four Frobots came in and two of them came to King Andrias, one of them tied a tourniquet around his left leg to stop or slow down the bleeding as the machete was pulled out, causing him to scream briefly in agony. A second Frobot gave him a crutch for his left arm to hold onto.
"That Leotárian. Charlie might be the last one." said King Andrias as he closed the Calamity Box and picked it up into his hand. "I still have the box."
Lady Olivia and General Yunan both tried to sneak their way out but King Andrias stopped them as he caught them.
"So...what about you two? Are you with me? Ahhh, this leg isn't doing me any favors." said King Andrias with a groan of pain.
"We're with you." said a visibly frightened Lady Olivia giving a curtsy.
"Definitely with you!" said General Yunan also visibly frightened giving a salute.
"Good. Get her to a rejuvenation tank and make it snappy. She's fading fast." King Andrias commanded. "And get me some medical attention for my leg."
Captain Grime and Sasha saw this from a pillar they hid behind while King Andrias and everyone else was distracted. Sasha wanted to go help Marcy but Captain Grime kept her from going after her.
"There's nothing we could do for her. Now let's move before someone..." Captain Grime paused.
Sasha and Captain Grime turned to see they got surrounded by three Frobots, armed with their laser cannon guns. The two both got up on their feet.
"So what's the plan, Captain?" whispered Sasha.
"It might sound drastic but I'm gonna have to toss you out the window." whispered Captain Grime.
"The window? If you think that we're going to have to jump, you might as well ask me to kiss your..." Sasha began.
Sasha's rant was interrupted when Captain Grime used his long, thick, wide, stretchy toad like tongue to grab hold of Sasha and tossed her out the nearby window and he jumped out the window after her. Letting out a battle cry as the two were falling from hundreds if not a thousand feet.
"Grimesy, are you out of your fucking mind!" cried Sasha.
"A flawless escape!" cried Captain Grime with a smile.
"And did you have a plan for after you threw us out the window?! If only Charlie was here. He'd know a way to escape without doing something so suicidal!" Sasha said annoyed.
Captain Grime looked up, down, then back at Sasha as he just realized that he didn't think this one through.
"Oh shit." Captain Grime uttered grimly.
They thought they were about to fall to their death but then an eagle's vocal sounds coming towards them and they turned to see it was the large male sparrow that Marcy had as her friend and steed, Joe Sparrow. The large sparrow flew to them and the two landed on his back, saving them. Letting out a victorious eagle like vocalization.
"Well, that's lucky. Excellent work, George Sparrow." said Captain Grime with a grin.
Joe glared at Grime for getting his name wrong.
"Grimesy, his name is Joe, not George." Sasha corrected.
Joe smiled at Sasha and nodded, continuing to fly off and away from the castle. A grim face was upon Sasha when she looked at the castle.
"Anne... Marcy...Charlie... please be alright." said Sasha under her breath.
"Do you still like Charlie after all this time?" said Captain Grime subtly teasing her.
"You do know I can drop kick you off this bird's back right now and you'd end up becoming part of the ground afterwards, right?" said Sasha annoyed.
"Relax, it's only a joke." said Captain Grime.
Joe Sparrow flew them both far away from the castle till they were out of sight. But King Andrias saw them making their escape to wherever they were headed as some of his Frobots were tending to his leg. He sent one of his Frobots to follow them but then the Frobot gave him a needle that was found on Marcy, it had very little golden liquid left in needle as it had droplets left.
"This was the needle that Charlie tossed at Marcy that was on her leg. The gold liquid." King Andrias said examining it for a moment till he had realized what the gold liquid was or where it came from. "The golden all miracle healing apples. Charlie must have, he was... he's smarter than I predicted."
As Sasha and Captain Grime flew over the land. They spotted the toad army, or some of the soldiers from the toad army, had been captured by the Frobots. They dropped their weapons to the ground, raised their hands up and the Frobots held them at laser gun cannon point.
"Crap! Our army has been captured. Looks like we'll have to take shelter somewhere and come up with a new strategy." said Captain Grime.
"Ok. But where do we even go? Your tower? Andrias will be expecting that. But didn't your tower get completely demolished?" said Sasha.
"It got rebuilt recently. How that happened is a long story. Charlie explained it to me." said Captain Grime. "But you have a point. We'll have to go somewhere he doesn't expect to find us."
Morning in Wartwood
Some members of the town of Wartwood, standing near the founder's statue and near the Grub & Go shop. They saw something was coming to them from above in the sky. It turned out to be Joe Sparrow as he landed on the ground, both Sasha and Captain Grime hopped off his back and onto the ground. Sasha had a nervous look while Captain Grime was trying not to look nervous but he appeared to feel awkward being back in Wartwood. A few of the locals approached them, looking worried or panicked out of concern.
"What in the frog is going on?" asked Mrs. Croaker.
"Why are you two here?" asked Stumpy looking surprised.
"Is it just me or is the palace flying?" said Loggle.
They all looked at Loggle for a moment and he blushed as if they all realized he said something funny.
"That's a huge bird, isn't it? Not a flying palace." said Loggle blushing.
"You got it." said Mrs. Croaker.
"Where are the Plantars? Where's Anne? Where's Charlie? Where's Marcy?" said Felicia.
"Where's Sprig?" asked Ivy.
Sasha and Captain Grime knew that a lot of questions were being asked but the truth would make them turn on the both of them. Sasha and Captain Grime plotted against Anne, Charlie, the Plantars and tried to take over Newtopia, betrayed Anne, Charlie and the Plantars, what happened to Marcy, King Andrias true plans being revealed and wanting to conquer all worlds, and both Anne, Charlie and the Plantars got transported to another world. Sasha knew the truth would crush them and have them turn on them. Captain Grime knew they're turn on them and place all blame on them.
"What do we tell them?" Sasha whispered.
"Not the truth. That's for sure." Captain Grime whispered back.
Captain Grime cleared his throat before he spoke out loud to the locals of the town.
"People of Wartwood, we have terrible news: The king has turned out to be a ruthless tyrant of unspeakable power." Captain Grime announced. "We nearly gotten our mother fu-"
Sasha slapped a hand to Captain Grime's mouth as she knew that swear words was not the words to use in front of them.
"Grimesy, there's children present." Sasha interrupted before removing her hand.
Everyone in town gasped in horror by the news. Mrs. Croaker remarked on how she didn't vote for King Andrias.
"Anne, Charlie and the Plantars had to go a daring mission, but they sent us to protect you fine frogs in the meantime, along with the elderly and children, right, Sasha?" said Captain Grime lightly patting Sasha on her back.
Sasha was aware they were lying but she fought to let out her guilt as she spoke to Captain Grime through a whisper.
"There's no way they're gonna trust us just because we name-dropped Anne." Sasha whispered.
"Not with that attitude." Captain Grime whispered back.
"Oh... what a relief." said a relieved Mrs. Croaker.
"Classic Anne and Charlie. Always looking out of us." said Stumpy relieved.
Toadstool approached Sasha and shook her hand while even hugging her, briefly lifting her up off the ground before placing her back on her feet and releasing his arms from her.
"Why, that's wonderful. Rest easy tonight, folks, because Anne and Charlie's best friend is here to watch over us." Toadstool reassured the town.
Everyone cheered for them while Sasha briefly smiled but she began to show guilt. The moment was interrupted when they heard a very loud, audible fart that last for a good several seconds. Everyone was blushing and nearly chuckling but fought the urge to laugh.
"Was the flight on the way over here really that long?" said Toadstool blushing.
"That wasn't Sasha." said Captain Grime blushing.
"We could use the bathroom for now. The flight lasted from sometime last night to early this morning." said Sasha.
"I'll lead them." Loggle volunteered.
Loggle led both Sasha and Captain Grime to a nearby bathroom while everyone else went back to what they're doing.
Later That Night
Captain Grime and Sasha approached the Plantar's home as they opened the front door to the building. Sasha had a saddened face the whole time but tried not to let the town see her that way. The guilt was hurting her inside from the fact she lied to the whole town or Wartwood about what really happened and for what she really did. Captain Grime was the first to enter the house and placed his warhammer down near the door.
"OK. We'll lay low here and then in a day or two, we'll ditch this crummy town. Dibs on Hop Pop's bed." said Captain Grime.
Sasha wanted to enter the Plantar's home, but her guilt was preventing her from doing so. She had the same saddened and guilty look. The older male toad could instantly notice she wasn't behaving normally.
"You gonna come in or just stand there and be weird? It's just like my fourth date. She was kind of a weirdo." said Captain Grime misunderstanding Sasha's reaction.
"I- I think I'll sleep in the barn." said Sasha about to head for the barn house. "What made your fourth date a weirdo?"
"Her sense of humor was... disturbing." answered Captain Grime with a shudder.
Sasha walked off towards the barn and Captain Grime shrugged his shoulders as he headed for Hop Pop's bedroom. He kicked the double doors open and jumped onto the bed, causing it to break from under his weight and size. He proved to be larger than the bed itself that the wooden bed frame and headboard smashed to pieces.
He grabbed a book from the nearby bedside table and opened it as it looked like it was a type of magazine as he expected to see pictures of nude frog, toad and salamander women with massive sized breasts and butts. He learned it wasn't one of them magazines but a magazine of vegetables.
"Now that is a big potato. Maybe Hop Pop isn't a pervert." said Captain Grime.
At The Barn
Sasha made it to the barn and opened the right door to the barn house and was greeted with a small, cute chirp that turned out to be a small male snail. It was MicroAngelo and Sasha jumped a bit but found out that the small little male snail was harmless.
"Oh... a tiny snail." said Sasha taking notice till she heard a louder chirping sound and saw it was Bessie. "Aaaaand a bigger snail. I'm actually seeing you two and it's not my guilt making me hallucinate, right?"
The two snails made a couple of chirps as if to answer her. She let out a sigh and walked towards the stable that had the door, she opened it and closed it as she flopped down on a huge pile of hay.
"Well, don't mind me. I'm gonna go sleep in the corner with the rest of the trash. It's all someone like me deserves." said Sasha covering her head with hay.
Bessie and MicroAngelo could sense that something was bothering her as Bessie remembered that Charlie had shown times when being that down deep in the dumps. The two snails slithered their way over to her to keep her company as a form of comfort. Bessie nuzzled her head across Sasha's face which she pulled the hay from her head and was about to say something but feeling Bessie's affection along with MicroAngelo seemed welcoming to her.
"Would it be alright if we kept each other company tonight?" asked Sasha.
The two snails instantly snuggled up with her as Sasha saw her question got answered.
Later That Morning
Sasha was sleeping in the barn with Bessie and MicroAngelo. She was holding onto MicroAngelo in her arms as she was talking in her sleep.
"Beans are protein. Beans make you fart. We got a convertible." said Sasha in her sleep.
Sasha suddenly let out a loud fart. Then Bessie let out a louder fart then Sasha but that's when MicroAngelo let out the loudest fart out of all of them. Sasha suddenly smiled and chuckled in her sleep.
"Gas is a smoky fart fume." chuckled Sasha in her sleep.
The doors to the barn got kicked open loudly which caused Sasha to jerk awake. Two straws of hay were in her hair, her hair was ruffled and a mess, her left eye was halfway closed while her right eight was fully opened. She had that sleepy look in hers but she also looked like she got started out of a dream.
"Who is it? Where am I? Of course, this is my natural hair color." said Sasha in a ramble.
"Rise and shine. I made worm waffles." said Captain Grime coming into the barn.
He approached her with a plate of waffles that had worms in them but also had strawberry syrup on them with some of it traced on there to make it look like a smiley face was drawn on it. Sasha knew that Captain Grime was trying to put a smile on her face but her guilt over what she's done was still weighing heavy on her as if carrying over eighty pounds on her back.
"I'm not hungry." Sasha grumbled.
"Look, I get you feel guilty about tricking your friends, trying to get back with your ex-boyfriend and inadvertently helping the King get the music box, but you've got to get ahold of yourself." said Captain Grime his attempts to console her was weak but he used his tongue to launch out and eaten the worm waffles, chewing and swallowing it down. "We need to be in fighting shape if we're going to take down Andrias and-"
He was interrupted by a loud, ridiculous horn that honked twice. Captain Grime got on the alert and so did Sasha. They grabbed their weapons and burst through the barn double doors with a battle cry. But they turned to see it was only Mrs. Croaker. She had driven over to the Plantar's farm on her giant ladybug as a mode of transportation. Her pet spider Archie accompanying her as she had a pie with her to welcome them.
"Ooh! I love an enthusiastic welcome." said Mrs. Croaker approaching them.
Sasha and Captain Grime put their weapons down as they knew the elderly frog woman was of no dangerous threat to them unless they attacked her first.
"Why are you two so jumpy? Too much caffeine in you or were you two making out with tongues in each other's mouth in there?" joked Mrs. Croaker. "Kidding, I'm kidding."
"My massive tongue wouldn't fit in her small mouth. And we're not each other's type. I actually dated someone who wasn't my type and she was only dating me to try and in my pants to fu-" Captain Grime stopped as Sasha covered his mouth with her hand.
"Let's not swear in front of the elderly, Grimesy. Also, he didn't know you were joking. Last couple of days were kind of rough for us so our sense of humor is kind of on a low right now." Sasha interrupted.
"Quite understandable. I just wanted to thank you again for watching over the town." said Mrs. Croaker.
Sasha's guilt was growing stronger. She tried to fight it off from letting it explode out of her like she was forbidden from lying and tried to lie. Her face shown visible guilt growing. Mrs. Croaker given Captain Grime the pie as he smiled with delight.
"Oooh! Boysenbug! Gonna go inside and heat this bad boy up." said Captain Grime heading off inside the Plantar's home.
"You alright, deary? You appear to be looking as though you're bothered by something. Kind of like when I first went through puberty and I had to use my first tampon. My daddy almost freaked out but good thing my mama was there to help us through it. Are you going through, you know, your first lady moment?" said Mrs. Croaker looking concerned.
"It's not one of them times." said Sasha blushing. "It's just there was something I want to tell Anne, Charlie and the Plantars but I didn't get the chance to tell them. While they're off on a mission, I'm having to wait till they get back to tell them."
"Is it a personal thing?" asked Mrs. Croaker curiously.
"Kind of. Charlie's more familiar with helping others with that said issue. When he comes back with Anne and the Plantars. I plan on talking to them about it." lied Sasha. "Also, I already had my first lady moment before and my mom already helped me through it so I at least know how to handle that."
"Fair enough. Charlie's done a lot of help for so many people here like Anne. Charlie healed my eye." said Mrs. Croaker. "I'll be off."
Sasha watched the elderly female frog adult walk off as she knew her words were meant to be compassionate towards her but hearing more of what Anne and Charlie did to help people in Wartwood made her guilt sink deeper and deeper.
"I wasn't sure about these two, Archie, but they turned out to be good eggs. Anne and Charlie sure worked things out for them." said Mrs. Croaker talking to her pet spider.
Sasha felt her guilt growing but she had no time to ponder over her guilt when she heard a male adult call out and say "You Hoo!" which she recognized the male's voice as she remembered Charlie told him about Wally. Wally had shown up near her with his accordion as he briefly did a little dance and played a few notes on his musical instrument before he stopped.
"Any friend of Anne's or Charlie's is a friend of mine." said Wally.
"That's touching. Look, I got to go." said Sasha weakly brushing him off.
"Yes, they both taught me many lessons. Showing me the importance of honesty, being true of yourself, the meaning of friendship, Charlie even helped me mend the bond and relationship between me and my dad when I've failed to do so myself, so I could totally relate to him when he had his own daddy issues, I've been working on a song about it." said Wally.
Wally was vocalizing his voice and about to play a musical tune on his accordion till Sasha placed a finger to his lips to stop him.
"Hold it!" Sasha said. "How did Charlie reconcile things between you and your dad?"
"Well, keep this between you and me. Things between me and my dad, we love each other but he didn't always listen to me. Anne, Charlie and the Plantars stepped in and after Charlie had a talk with my dad, he helped my dad realize that he should listen to me more and accept me for who I am. Charlie really has a way with working out issues and reconciling people as he brings them together again. He's a good man, he is." said Wally.
"I see. Well, your secret is safe with me but I'm very busy protecting the town for Anne and Charlie and stuff." said Sasha lightly dragging him forwards away from her. "Take cover if you need to."
"Will do." said Wally walking off.
Sasha groans as she was about to walk off.
"I swear if one more country bumpkin-" Sasha began.
She was interrupted once more a puff of light purple smoke and Maddie appeared, she used her magic to teleport to Sasha but Sasha freaked out from the surprise as she flinched, keeping her swords up as if ready to defend herself. Maddie was carrying seven loafs of bread, two in each arm and three in a bushel that was on top of her head.
"Free bread, anyone?" said Maddie.
"Right now, I'm trying to restart my heart." said Sasha catching her breath.
"Sorry about the big surprise. Charlie appears to be welcomed to it. But he did tell me not everyone is up for surprises like that when it pops up in their faces like popcorn. Pop, pop, pop, pop, pop, pop, pop, pop, pop, pop, pop, pop, pop, pop, pop. But I can understand it can get a little annoying." said Maddie. "We need more people like Anne and Charlie. They're good role models."
Sasha's guilt was about to explode out of her, but she took off running towards the barn.
"Sorry, got to use the girls room!" lied Sasha.
"Has to use the girl's bathroom and don't want the extra carbs, eh? I get it." said Maddie understanding the feeling. "Going to use the bathroom at the barn? Just like that man said in that dinosaur film Charlie shown us. When you gotta go. You gotta go."
Maddie pulled out what looked like purple herbs and she tossed it down to the ground, making her teleport in a puff of bright purple smoke. Sasha was inside the barn while Bessie was feeding on hay. MicroAngelo had already eaten and was napping on top of Bessie's shell as Sasha was pacing back and forth till she stopped and faced Bessie.
"I actually wish you could talk like humans because I'm going through an issue of my own and I feel like if I don't tell the people the truth. I'm going to lose it and go berserk; it would get worse and worse and now they'll see I've gone completely out of my mind which once I've lost my mind from the guilt. They'd be coming to take me away ha-haaa. They'll be coming to take me away ho-ho hee-hee ha-haaa, to the funny farm. Where life is beautiful all the time and I'll be happy to see those nice young men in their clean white coats. And they'll be coming to take me away ha-haaa!" said Sasha rambling while she started to sound a little crazy, but she snapped back to reality within an instant. "I'm losing it from guilt, am I?"
Bessie lowered one of her eyes down as if to answer her in her way of saying "A little bit" which Sasha actually understood what Bessie told her in her own way of sign language. The right barn door opened and in came Captain Grime once again, but he had what looked like a small fruit bat hanging from his left arm as he kept that arm up for the time being.
"Great news. I got a message from Beatrix." said Captain Grime looking optimistic as the bat spread its wings to show a rolled-up paper that he took, and the bat closed its wings afterwards. He unrolled it and the note read that it had come from Captain Grime's sister Beatrix as it read "We have weapons, soldiers and fortification" with her name signed down below.
"She's hiding underground with the toads that avoided capture. They've got weapons, soldiers and fortification. We've got to join her." said Captain Grime.
"Why? So we can come up with another cruddy plan that fails and ends up hurting the people we love? And you if you make any jokes about Charlie or call him the "M" word. I'll whoop someone's ass." Sasha warned.
Captain Grime looked on with surprise as he was feeding the fruit bat strawberries as it would eat one of them and be ready to eat another strawberry.
"Are you sure you don't still have feelings for that Mo- I mean Charlie?" Captain Grime corrected.
"I do NOT have those feelings for Charlie! He's dating Anne now and I've come to accept that it won't work out between us because I was a cold, heartless bitch to him. And that the toad army only treated him much worse as I was also to blame for any of his trauma. I dated him for selfish reasons, treated him like shit, viciously dumped him, beat him up, controlled his life when around him, he had every right to be pissed at me when he stood up to me just like Anne stood up to me, and he had a right to spout out insults towards me after how I treated him and Anne, and you were part of it as well as that damn toad army was and we stood by and let it all happen. I want Charlie to be happy and since Anne makes him feel that way. All I can say is fuck the toad army. And to top it all off. I'm lying to an entire town here and so are you, about what we've done and what Anne said we're doing. And the walls are closing in on me here that I'm about to be out of my fucking mind!" babbled Sasha as she appeared to be blowing off steam.
Bessie looked at Sasha with widened eyes, she chirped twice, and Sasha looked right at her which the large female snail pointed her left eye at MicroAngelo and was giving Sasha a look that meant the swearing had to be left out when in front of little children, even if one of them was a snail.
"Too much?" said Sasha.
Bessie chirped twice and made that same sign language with her eyes to tell her that it was a little bit too much on her part. Captain Grime couldn't believe it ether when Sasha ranted on about the wrong, they've done and the wrong they continued doing. He was a little annoyed but surprised that Sasha would swear up a storm like that.
"No need to be a downer and I thought I had a potty mouth." groaned Captain Grime. "You want another strawberry, little guy? Yes, you do." he said being affectionate to the fruit bat as he gave the little creature another strawberry to eat.
"Look, I don't know. Maybe we're doing this all wrong. What we've done to Anne, Charlie and the Plantars is eating away at me as well as lying to the people of Wartwood. I can't do it anymore." said Sasha.
They suddenly heard a loud noise coming from outside that sounded like a boulder had landed on the ground and crashed into a building. This left Sasha to get up, growing annoyed as she went to open the barn door and just as soon as she was about to rant again, she was wide eyed at what she just saw.
"Grimesy?" Sasha called.
She saw the Frobot that was sent to follow them by King Andrias and it was a black frog like robot. It was scanning the Plantar's home like it was scanning someone's eyes for any possible diseases. But that's when Captain Grime came over and he too saw the Frobot when it turned to spot them.
"It followed us, didn't it?" said Captain Grime.
"Oh yeah." answered Sasha.
They ran outside and stopped as they knew hiding would do them no good now that they've been spotted.
"They must have tracked us here." said Sasha.
"Go for the legs! Watch its lasers!" cried Captain Grime.
Sasha charged at the Frobot while it fired lasers at her, but she dodged them, she even used her sword to deflect some of them. She remembered something that Charlie did when he attacked a monster or Frobot to defend himself or others. Sasha slid under him and with her sword, slashes the Frobot's legs.
"Jack, Jack, Jack, Jack, Jack"
After she slid underneath it and got up on her feet, the Frobot's legs were sliced in two, making it fall backwards on the ground. Then Captain Grime charged after it and jumped at the machine, swinging his warhammer up and about to smash it with his weapon. He let out a battle cry.
"Grimesy, smash it!" cried Sasha.
"Grime smash!" cried Captain Grime.
That's when the Frobot had a device come out from its head that looked like a radar sensor as it uttered in a robotic voice "Signal reinforcements" before Captain Grime smashed its head with his weapon. They heard what it said when they heard them two words being uttered out loud.
"Damn thing was calling for help. There's probably a whole army of them on their way now. Let's pack up, we're getting out of here." said Captain Grime.
"What? We can't leave these frogs to face them on their own. What about that old lady who gave us a pie? Or that musically in tuned guy with the accordion? Or that little girl giving out free bread for the day? There's women and children here as well as elderly. Charlie and Anne wouldn't ditch them." said Sasha expressing her compassion.
"Lieutenant, these bumpkins will only slow us down. And if I'm being honest, that piecrust was soggy, that one with the accordion is a weirdo, a stable minded one and that girl, well, I got nothing to say about her. I know it's harsh, but Wartwood is done for. We need to rejoin our forces and make plans for the coming war." said Captain Grime about to head out.
"Grimesy, you stop right there, right now or I'll slice that hammer into seven pieces which you need that weapon right now as much as I need my swords! What I'm saying here is no... enough with the plans and the schemes... I'm done." said Sasha her guilt starting to spill out.
The older male toad stopped and turned around, looking at the blonde teenage girl with shock. He approached her.
"What? But you love schemes. Lies, manipulation, backstabbing. It's... like... your thing. Since when have you cared?" said Captain Grime in disbelief.
"Since I saw the consequences." answered Sasha sadly. "Seeing what happened to Marcy because of what I've done could've had the same thing happen to Anne, Charlie, the Plantars, or worse, any other innocent lives. I don't want that on my head for the rest of my life."
Captain Grime sighed as he knew that Sasha wasn't the same person as he remembered when he first met her. She was showing remorse, guilt, compassion. It was as if she went soft.
"Listen, Lieutenant, whatever you're dealing with, you need to confront it. Go into that house, face what burdens you... Then when you've got your head back on straight, come join me. Please." instructed Captain Grime firmly before he turned around to walk off.
Sasha turned to look at the Plantar's home and let out a sigh. She walked over to the building and entered. She was at first going into the living room where the couch was, and she saw a book that was on the couch. It was a black book that had the picture of a male adult samurai warrior printed on the front with Charlie's name taped to the top of it but the word "Journal" at the bottom.
"Charlie had a journal?" said Sasha confused.
She picked it up and flipped through some pages as she would read them to herself but would hear Charlie's voice was reading them to her. She was reading what appeared to be lists of milestones he's experienced.
They were as Sasha had read: Meeting Anne for the first time, the love of his life. Standing up to the toad army or anyone who was a bully. Healing the town locals with natural healing remedies. Bonding with Hop Pop as father and son. Got his first kiss from Anne. Showing everyone the film on his phone that involved dinosaurs. Anne teaching him how to drive Bessie, being taught how to dance by Anne. Being victorious at a martial arts tournament and his bond with Hop Pop becoming stronger as he knows what it's like to have a father figure in his life. Charlie and Wally proving the existence of the Moss Man to everyone as well as everyone and the Plantars apologizing to Anne and Wally. Using the golden, all miracle healing apples to good use for those who need them, planting and growing the seeds of them apples to make more trees grow with them. Anne becoming his official girlfriend. Making the first step in getting Toadstool to change for the better.
The journey to Newtopia while every town, city and village they encountered; he gave them some golden apples for them to use and to use their seeds to plant and grow trees that they can harvest them for future use. Battling against dangerous beasts. Battling against criminals that got put away for good. Helping Wally reconcile with his dad. Their encounter with a creepy curator that led to stopping his evil deeds that anyone wouldn't have to encounter. Their time in Newtopia, finally finding Marcy. Resolving conflict that others had. Healing others with those golden apples. Helping Bella with her debt. Experiencing his first sleepover. The battles they had along the journey. Resolving any conflict that happened in Wartwood. Inspiring Toadstool to accept his sexuality and come out as bisexual. Charging the stones. Saving the town multiple times. His powers developing. Bessie and MicroAngelo bonding. Helping the town change things for the better. Helping Toadstool and Toadie realize their feelings for each other and more.
Sasha read how Charlie has grown up, changed and become an inspiration to those around him because of the love and support he has from them. She tried to hold back tears as she knew that she was never loving towards him. But she also read a passage in the journal.
"We gotten everyone back together, reunited. I know things between me and Sasha were rocky and all. But I'm so glad that she's changing for the better. I need to let the ladies of the house back home know that Sasha isn't a bully. She's changed for the better. I just hope that Sasha can forgive me for anything I've said to her when we were fighting and arguing. I know it's going to take some time for us to get over all the things we've said to each other. About all the fights and all the horrible things we've said to each other. I know it's going to be so hard. But I know somehow as long as all of us have each other. We'll get through this. But I don't want to hurt the people around us. I'd like to tell Sasha that I don't want to do that to each other anymore. The who did what to whom. Ever since I first met Anne. the Plantars and so many wonderful people in this world. I knew that all of us. Me, Anne, Marcy and Sasha were a lot happier together. We brought out the best in each other. I'm starting to bring out the best in Sasha and she's on the road of doing the same with me. We need each other now more than ever. Even when we go home"
Sasha closed the journal immediately as she was blinking back tears. She knew she was so horrible to Charlie when they were dating and long after she dump him. She carried the journal with her as she explored further into the house as she walked down the stairs to the basement that Anne lived in. Anne's room in the basement was a mess like any other teenager's bedroom. But Sasha felt that one of her feet was higher than the other for some reason, till she looked down and saw one of her feet stepped on Anne's diary. It looked like a purple covered notebook with a frog sticker, stickers of a cloud with lightning, stars and a flower on the front with Anne's name taped on it.
"I thought Anne was the only one with one of these." said Sasha breaking her silence.
She picked up Anne's diary and flipped through the pages till she stopped at a page that caught her attention. The page on the left shown a drawing of Anne, Sasha, Marcy, and Charlie in their costumes, with a picture of Captain Grime playing a harp beneath them. The page on the right shown a note that Anne written down with a drawing of a purple guitar below it. She could hear Anne's voice in her head as she read it to herself.
"Sasha, Marcy, Charlie and I are finally together, and you know what? It's awesome. Tomorrow, we head to Newtopia and after that I think we're actually going home. I can't wait to meet Charlie's family. Just as long as their hugs don't crush my spine. I hope my parents love Charlie and give him their blessing for him to continue to date me because we've been dating for months now. I'm so happy we trusted Sasha again. We always knew, even after everything that happened, we'd work it out. Same with Charlie. They probably didn't have the best relationship but even though me and Charlie are dating. I think Sasha is doing a good job at reconciling with Charlie and so they can work things out"
Sasha couldn't hold back anymore. Tears leaked out of her eyes as the guilt came flowing out of her. Some tears dropped onto the page as she closed Anne's diary as well.
"Oh, Anne... Oh Charlie... I'm so sorry... I shouldn't have tried so hard to be in control again or to keep Charlie under my thumb, in the end... where did it get me?" said Sasha with a shaky voice but took a minute for her tears to stop. "Well, that ends now. I wanna be someone better. Someone that deserves you both. I know what I have to do."
Without warning, Sasha suddenly let out a loud fart and blushed with widened eyes. It was brief but she knew that she was lucky that she was the only one in the room. She sniffed the air and wrinkled her nose.
"Now that was definitely me." said Sasha as she let out one last fart and sniffed the air again but waved a hand in front of her face. "Now that's a stink."
Later That Evening
Sasha had gathered the residence of Wartwood at the town's entrance as Sasha had terrible news to tell them.
"Listen up, everyone, I called you all here to tell you something that's not going to be easy for me to say. It's probably going to make you all mad at me and possibly have one of you feel the desire to punch me in the gut afterwards. I don't know how to tell you this to make it sound less of a sting." Sasha informed.
"Sasha, I used to be someone that everyone hated for his actions and I've said and done a lot of bad in the past. I was a royal jerk. Half the town wanted to punch me in the gut back then. But thanks to good old Charlie and Anne. I'm not so much of a jerk anymore. I might've had an instant feeling of being attracted to Charlie but I knew I was too old for him and he was too young for even me. That, and he was already in a relationship so I knew that I couldn't steal someone from another. I kind of already found someone who likes me back as much as I like him." reassured Toadstool as he took hold of Toadie's hand. Revealing that they have become lovers. "Charlie is the first person I told about my...gender preference which he inspired to come out with it and to accept myself for who I am."
"Charlie encouraged me to confess my feelings for the man I love. He told us he never discriminates against who people choose to love. And it's the best decision we ever made." said Toadie with a proud grin. "But if you have bad news to tell us and don't know how to tell us. Just tell it to us straight up."
Sasha knew that Charlie and Anne have both left an impression and positive impact on the town and sighed as she knew that she had to bite the bullet.
"Okay, then the news is... a robot army is on its way to destroy Wartwood." Sasha blurted out really fast.
What Sasha told them left everyone to gasp in shock while others were confused by what she told them.
"What? An army?" said Loggle confused.
"How many are we talking?" said Stumpy scratching his beard.
"What's a robot?" asked a confused Mrs. Croaker.
"And that's not all.. I lied to you about Anne and Charlie sending us to protect the town. They've been zapped to another world that has no idea I'm even here. I'm no guardian, I'm a fraud. We're not good eggs. We're rotten eggs. Everytime I heard more people talk about how good Anne and Charlie always are when anyone was thinking we were sent to help protect the town or when someone was being nice to me. The guilt of me lying to everyone got to me and I wanted to say something sooner but I was wallowing in self-pity when I should've just told the truth and man up. The guilt's driving me so crazy that they might as well have the men in the clean white coats come to put me in the funny farm." Sasha confessed while rambling.
Sasha took in a deep breath and let it out while they all gasped but were also thinking that Sasha held this all in for a little too long. One of the residences had uttered "she sure had some steam to let out" under their breath.
"Fraud or not, though, I'm gonna do the right thing for once in my life. With my last breath." said Sasha as she pulled her sword out. "I'm gonna defend this town."
There was suddenly a loud boom as the ground shook and they all turned to see what made that sound. There, near the town's entrance, was a giant Frobot that was a rotund model with bronze armor, as well as being much larger and bulkier than most models. As the eyes began glowing right red. Sasha stepped forwards to face it.
"Only one? Honestly, that doesn't seem that bad." said Sasha feeling confident.
The back like carapace on its back opened up and there popped out multiple green tadpole-like Frobots. Many of them were ready to attack while Sasha barely reacted as if expecting such. She started to remember how Charlie would handle such a situation and her face got stoic as she got her sword ready.
"Of course. Hey, you bucket of bolts!" cried Sasha her sword raised. "Say hello to my little friend!"
Sasha charged at them with a battle cry as some attacked back but she used her sword to slash at four or even seven of them as she was trying to attack them just like how Charlie would fight with his sword.
"Jack, Jack, Jack, Jack, Jack." Sasha said as she slashed up some Frobots.
She was doing good at first, but she got overpowered by six of them as their arms wrapped around her and kept her immobilized. The giant Frobot opened up a hatch from its chest which a huge cannon came out from it. Getting ready to blast her.
"Dear God!" Sasha uttered under her breath.
It blasted a missile at Sasha which the missile was looking like some odd-looking fish but just when it was about to hit her. That was when Captain Grime hopped over and swung his warhammer at the missile.
"Dodge this, motherfucker!" cried Captain Grime.
He swung his warhammer and hit the missile while it got sent sky high into the air, blowing up far away from anyone or anything. The smoke cleared afterwards. Sasha smiled at him.
"Sorry I'm late. And I really love Charlie's one liners. I always wanted to use one of those." said Captain Grime with a grin.
"Grimesy! Charlie's rubbing off on you two." said Sasha looking happy to see him.
"Big time." Captain Grime uttered.
Captain Grime swung his warhammer at the Frobots from one side the made them go flying and hit something hard to destroy them, having half of Sasha freed. Sasha leaned forwards far enough to get four feet away from the remaining Frobots that had their hands and arms one her. Then Captain Grime used his weapon to smash the rest. Fully freeing Sasha.
"I got to thinking, Beatrix may have weapons and soldiers, but you know what she doesn't have? You, Lieutenant. That, and them cool one liners that Charlie uses." said Captain Grime showing his compassion.
Sasha got up and pulled him into her arms to hug him while he got uncomfortable from the hugging, but something made him let her hug him.
"Grimesy! You big softy. And looks like Charlie is rubbing off both of us." said Sasha flattered.
That was when the giant Frobot retracted its cannon and closed the chest opening. A compartment on its back opens up and less than thirty of them Frobots came blasting out from it, getting ready to attack. Sasha and Captain Grime were ready to fight back and defend the town.
"Thirty against two, huh?" said Captain Grime.
"Hardly a fair fight. But you know what Charlie would say?" said Sasha.
"Let's kick some metal!" said Sasha and Captain Grime in unison.
Before they could get the chance to attack. Mrs. Croaker charged at one of the Frobots with a battle cry as she used her fists to hit one of them on the head, knocking it to the ground as static discharge emitted from its head, making it squirm all over till her pet spider Archie spit acidic saliva all over it, making it melt within seconds. The little spider jumped into Mrs. Croaker's arms as she told him how much of a good boy he is.
This left Sasha and Captain Grime surprised with widened eyes. Did they just see Mrs. Croaker and her pet spider take down one of the Frobot soldiers with ease? Next, they saw Wally charge at more of the Frobots and used his accordion to hit and knock around four Frobots over their heads. Toadstool punched one of them over the head, smashing it, then punched another nearby, sending it flying.
Loggle attacked another one of them and pulled its left robot eye with a battle cry of delight. Maddie came in and used her pouches of magic to throw at many of them. Each one that got hit with one, they turned into some harmless objects like a rubber duck, an alarm clock, a top hot and one of them got turned into a glove.
Ivy kicked one of them and sent them flying. Then her mother Felicia kicked one of them that came from behind her to save her and to watch her back. Many of them took down the Frobots while Sasha and Captain Grime looked on in surprise. They had no idea that the townspeople of Wartwood could actually defend themselves.
"No way. The townspeople?" said Sasha surprised.
"By the Barrel's belly. They're deadlier than any soldier. Even Charlie whooped tougher asses." said Captain Grime looking just as surprised. "I'm kind of starting to like it."
Wally hit one of the last Frobots with his instrument, sending it flying across towards the giant Frobot. The giant Frobot than stood on two legs and with its front legs, they transform into a pair of giant cannons. The People of Wartwood stood there paralyzed with shocked fear, but Sasha and Grime knew it was time to step in and take this giant Frobot down as they both ran towards it.
"You know what to do, Grime!" called Sasha.
"Way ahead of you!" answered Captain Grime.
The giant Frobot locked its cannons on them both and fired a missile out of each cannon. Two of them went flying towards them but the two ran in opposite directions. One followed Sasha and the second followed Captain Grime. The missiles appeared to be heat seekers.
"Those bastards are following us." said Captain Grime.
"Then let's lead them in the right direction." instructed Sasha.
Sasha ran around a nearby tree with the missile following her while Captain Grime launched his huge tongue at a hollow stone to grab onto it and did a deadly pirouette through it with the missile still following him. They both returned to run towards the giant Frobot and that's when Sasha and Captain Grime jumped high into the air and run over the huge machine's head.
"Bite the bullet, asshole!" said Sasha and Captain Grime in victorious unison.
That's when the two missiles collided with the giant Frobot and a loud boom was heard. There was smoke and it took a minute for it to fade and clear as the townspeople saw that the machine was so damaged and beyond repair that it fell to the ground. Sasha and Captain Grime were shown to be on top of it. Its head popped off the body. Loggle ripped its right eye out from the Frobot's eye socket with a victorious scream.
"I think you're enjoying this too much." said Mrs. Croaker looking annoyed.
"Sorry, is that bad? Now I know how Charlie feels when he stood up to his enemies." said Loggle looking embarrassed.
"Well, it's not a bad thing. But ease up on it a little." said Mrs. Croaker.
"Yes ma'am." said Loggle.
Sasha walked past them and placed her sword back inside it's sheath. She was surprised at how everyone was able to defend themselves.
"Wow... I don't- I don't know what to say. Except I'm sorry for lying and for my actions. Not gonna lie. When I rambled. I think I went a little crazy." said Sasha apologetically.
Mrs. Croaker placed a hand over her left shoulder when Sasha sat down on the ground to rest for a minute.
"You said enough, deary. And to be honest, I think you needed to let all of that out. Charlie did say that it's better to let it out than to keep it in. Unless you end up farting. Have it aimed away from people." said Mrs. Croaker kindly.
"Will do." Sasha replied.
"You may have been a terrible person, Sasha, but you were honest with us when you didn't have to be." said Maddie placing a hand on Sasha's right shoulder.
"And taking those robots on alone to protect us frogs..." Ivy began.
"It really is something Anne and Charlie would've done." said Wally cleaning his accordion and playing it a little afterwards.
Sasha felt better to know that they've forgiven her as she knew that she no longer wanted to be in control or to be evil ether. She got up on her feet and knew that while Anne, Charlie and the Plantars were away. She had to take on their jobs as protector of Wartwood for the time being.
"Thanks, you guys. You can count on me, for real this time." reassured Sasha.
They all cheered for Sasha as they knew that more of King Andrias Frobot soldiers would be coming but they knew this meant they'll be ready to take them on.
"So what happens now?" asked Mrs. Croaker.
Sasha looked at Captain Grime for a moment who winked at her as he let her know he's going to stay with her and help defend the people of Wartwood. Sasha smiled.
"We start fighting back." answered Sasha.
But their little moment of cheering got interrupted when someone let out the loudest and smelliest fart out loud and they could smell it as it smelled strong enough for them to wave their hands in front of their faces.
"Captain Grime!" they said in unison.
"That wasn't the Captain, everyone." said Stumpy chuckling.
