CHAPTER 2

It took some time, but Diddy and Dixie Kong were the first to reach Crocodile Isle. Kai and the other Kongs never even arrived yet; it took them a little time and effort before they even arrived at the island. Then, as Kai caught up with Diddy and Dixie Kong, they all headed over to Gangplank Galleon. However, Kai was the one who was in for a rude awakening once the Kritters and Kaboings found out about his betrayal of K. Rool.

"Worthless, wretched coward." said a green Kritter. "You were the one that betrayed King K. Rool, and now look at what it has caused him to be."

"I left the Kremling Krew because of K. Rool's stances of him stealing and being a greedy selfish crocodile!" shouted Kai. "And nobody likes working for someone who is greedy and selfish like K. Rool is."

"Kai, maybe we shouldn't get to… uh… hm…. What was the word I was looking for?" Dixie Kong thought to herself.

"Not now, Dixie!" Diddy Kong said. "Kai, let's go!" KAi later ran off in a panic from the Kremling Kuthroats and the Kremling Krew.

"When we meet again, you are going to be nothing but toast, Kai Kritter." said a green Kritter Pirate working for Kaptain K. Rool.

Once the trio got away from the Kritters and Kaboings, they were surrounded again by vile creatures known as Kannons. "We're dead, aren't we?" asked Dixie Kong. Kai Kritter then said, "preferably not, indeed". Kai then caught a cannon from the Kannon Kritter, and threw it right back at him. The trio later made their escape on the ropes.

"Hey! Get back here, you scurvy dogs!" said a green Kritter wielding a pirate's sword.

"Trying to catch us, aren't you?" asked Diddy Kong. "We are on a boat, you know. Period. EXCLAMATION MARK!"

"Hey! This is no comedy!" Dixie Kong said. "Stop playing around and let's think of a strategy!" She then asked Kai Kritter what on earth he was doing.

"I'm trying to slide down these ropes." Kai said. "Watch this trick!" said Kai. "Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!" he said as he slid down the ropes, wacking out other Kritters in the process.

"Come on, Kai." said Diddy Kong. "Let's go."

"Right." said Kai. The group later left for the next area.

Meanwhile, back on DK Island with Candy Kong and the game show host Swanky Kong, they were shocked that Donkey Kong was kidnapped and that the others went to go rescue him. "Shouldn't we go?" asked Candy Kong to Swanky Kong. Swanky Kong thought not much of it, prompting Candy Kong asking why not. Swanky Kong never said much of anything. Candy did admit that Donkey Kong needed to be rescued, so they went to call for help so they could get to Crocodile Isle.

"I just hope this place is not dangerous as I am hearing about it…" said Candy Kong in a worried manner.

"I hope so too." said Swanky Kong.

Back with Diddy Kong, Dixie Kong, and Kai Kritter, they were venturing up more ropes to get to the top of Gangplank Galleon. There, Diddy Kong spotted a crate with a snake's picture on it. Kai then stated that whoever was inside was a good friend of his. "Break it open." said Diddy Kong. Kai then agreed to do so. Emerging from the crate was Rattly the green, red-ringed rattlesnake, a friend of Kai Kritter who rebelled against the Kremling Krew and the Kremling Kuthroats. When Kai explained the cause of trouble to Rattly, he nodded, agreeing to help the Kongs on their quest to rescue Donkey Kong from Kaptain K. Rool's clutches.

"Hey, you act like someone we know." Diddy Kong said. "Are you anything like Winky the Frog?" Rattly nodded and shrugged. Diddy then explained that Winky the Frog was a friend of theirs from DK Island, their home.

"Kai, we forgot to ask you a little bit of something." said Dixie Kong.

"What is it?" asked Kai.

"Do your parents know about this adventure?" Dixie Kong asked. This obviously worried Kai Kritter, as he was thinking that his parents were not okay.

"We'll just have to check later when this quest is over." Diddy Kong said. Kai sighed, worrying about his parents. Then, without warning, the trio stepped foot into the Krow's Nest of the ship. All three of them screamed at the sight of the giant Necky. Rattly later escaped.

"Kai Kritter, well, well." the giant Necky said. "What brings you and the two monkeys to my little nest?"

"Shut up!" Kai hollered. "You don't know what Kaptain K. Rool has done to our world now!

"Yar har ho!" said a Kritter walking towards Kai. "You scallywag! You were the one who betrayed us, you know!"

"Just shut up altogether! All of you!" said Diddy Kong. "What we are doing now is defeating you and getting out of here!"

"...Fine." the giant Necky said. "And you can obviously die trying to defeat me."

"GRRRRRRR!" Kai growled. "That so totally freaking does it with you! I, along with Diddy and Dixie Kong, will defeat you now and ONLY now! Get ready for a good rustle of your feathers, you feathered freak!"

"Fine, then!" the giant Necky said. "Let the giant eggs rain down on you insane animals!"

"Quick!" yelled Kai Kritter. "Get some eggs! Throw it at the Necky!"

"...Right!" said Dixie Kong. "Come on, Diddy!" she later exclaimed.

It took four hits to take out the insane giant Necky. However, the battle was worth it. When the giant Necky was down, his last words were that Kai Kritter's parents were kidnapped by Kaptain K. Rool. This angered Kai a lot, and he was destined to save his parents from the clutches of the old green rascal that was K. Rool. Then, to Crocodile Cauldron they went, which was the hottest place on the island, full of volcanic areas and lava. But it was a necessity to get through the area in order to rescue Donkey Kong and now Kai Kritter's parents. A long adventure was just awaiting the trio.
