CHAPTER 4

The swampy Kram Quay was the next area on Diddy's quest to rescue Donkey Kong and Kai Kritter's Parents. With the help of Nelson Necky, their new friend, they were sure to get around much easier with his coconut-throwing skills and his fantastic flying. And with the addition of Rambi, who had just been healed from his wounds, they were sure able to get around on the ground much easier too. However, when the group reached Barrel Bayou, which was a bayou full of barrels and barrel cannons, Rambi had no way across as the bayou was filled with dirty green water that no one would want to go swimming in. However, Nelson Necky got across easily while Diddy and DIxie Kong just used the barrel cannons provided in the bayou. When they exited the bayou, they reached a huge shipwreck. However, due to how damaged the ship was, the only way across was by swimming in the dirty, mucky green swamp water.

"This is going to be disgusting!" shouted Dixie Kong.

"I'll… uh…see you on the other side of the ship." said Nelson Necky.

"Hey!" Diddy Kong exclaimed. "How about telling us how to at least get across this dirty ship's water!"

"Glimmer is a friend of mine who lives down there." Nelson said. "He oughta help you. Good luck, Kongs. You too, Kai." He later flew over to another ship that was not wrecked.

"WHAT?!" Kai Kritter asked in shock.

"Come on!" said Diddy Kong.

As they swam across the submerged shipwreck with Glimmer the Anglerfish helping them out along the way, there were a lot of Flotsams, Lockjaws, and Snapjaws in the way, looking for food to eat. However, that food they were after was actually the Kongs and Kai.

"We'd better make a swim for it!" exclaimed Kai. But as Kai was right behind Diddy and Dixie, he got caught in a fearsome trap.

"Quick!" said Diddy Kong. "Let's get Kai out of there!"

"Wait," spoke Dixie Kong. "I think he's got himself out!" But Kai was hurt a little. Diddy and Dixie Kong then went to find Nelson.

When the group found Nelson and Rambi, they had told them that Kai was injured and he had a hard time walking.

"We oughta rest up right here." said Nelson. "But the question of the day is how can we heal Kai Kritter's wound and get him back to normal?"

"That's the question of the day." said Diddy Kong. "This oughta take some quick thinking." As the group was thinking, Nelson had an idea. However, this would force the group to exceed in a difficult task.

"We need to find a white-scaled Kritter." said Nelson. "He should have a red cross on his necklace. He's a medical Kritter."

"You know him?" asked Dixie.

"Yup." Nelson said. After he asked Rambi to have Kai ride on his back, Rambi agreed, and they went off to find the Medical Kritter. However, this would force them to face off against Kudgel, a giant Kremling with a wooden club, before proceeding to wherever the medical Kritter was. Then, when they easily got past Kudgel by defeating him after throwing him into the dirty, mucky swamp water, the group found an amusement park.

"Not like for K. Rool to have his own amusement park on Crocodile Isle…" Diddy Kong said.

"Don't. You. Dare." said Kai. "The theme park may look fun, but actually, it's a monstrous adventure. You'll see what I mean."

"You know this place, Kai?" Dixie Kong asked.

"According to my studies at Kremkroc Kollege, I've obtained some documents that K. Rool wrote about this place. He stated that the rides are deadly and that they haunt people." Kai explained.

"I see…" said Diddy Kong.

"Let's go anyways." said Dixie Kong.

Back with Kaptain K. Rool, he noticed that the group was closing in on his location. Then, he received reports that the group reached Kremling Koaster. K. Rool was shocked.

"Send out some more troops!" said Kaptain K. Rool.

"Sssssure bossssss….no problem…." said a Kritter.

"And don't be all day!" said K. Rool. Then, K. Rool got reports about Kai falling down one of his traps. He was laughing, not even regretting what he had done.

"We have to seriously ride this?!" asked Dixie Kong in shock when they reached the Kremling Koaster.

"But the medical assistance is up there somewhere!" said Kai. "Right, Nelson?"

"Yes." Nelson said. "Well, you two ready for a Rickety Ride with a bunch of Klanks?" asked Nelson.

"Uh…" Diddy Kong said in confusion.

"Well, Kai, Rambi and I will be at Mudhole Marsh." said Nelson. "You guys just go on your own." Nelson, Rambi, and Kai later went to find help for Kai Kritter's wound on his leg. Diddy and Dixie then took a chance at the Rickety Race. However, when the car crashed moments later, they landed in purple-shaded water.

"Ewwww!" said Diddy Kong.

"This is disgusting as it already is!" Dixie Kong said. "Worse than Krem Quay!"

"Yeah, I know!" Diddy Kong responded. Then, a ghostly sound was heard. It was unknown where they were. The two decided to explore.

When they finished exploring, they found Kai with a bandage around his leg. They also found Rambi and Nelson, who were staring at something in the gloomy sky. No one knew what it was. However, a giant hornet hole was blocking the way. Then, a giant Zinger emerged, shocking Kai, Nelson, Diddy, and Dixie. However, using his coconut-throwing skills, Nelson defeated the winged buzzing freak. Then, off to the next area they went, which was the haunted Gloomy Gulch.
