"Push! madam!" screamed the midwife as the pale drawn woman screamed in pain, her hands bunching up the sheets " I am!" she howled as the pain became even more unbearable " I AM!" and gave one last push as a walling bundle slid out into the midwives waiting for arms " well misses Dunne-" the midwife stated as she made the vital check " you have a baby bo..." and as she was about to finish her sentence the mother let out a blood-curdling scream and a smaller looking bundle slid out " well look at that! it seems you have ANOTHER baby boy!" the midwife exclaimed happily as she examined both infants

"let me...let me see them.." the mother whispered as she felt her strength leave her "Let me see my boys..." she said again feeling more and more lightheaded the midwife turned her head and gasped in shock the woman was losing color fast " no no no!" she exclaimed frightened as she leaned over to check the women's pulse ' stay with me stay for your boys mam!" she said again getting more worried by the second " where is the father?! get the father in here!" she screamed and as the door flew open and a dark-headed man burst inside "What is it? MARY!" the man shouted in surprise as he practically flew towards the mother who was gasping in shock losing her fight with death

"Let me see my babies" she rasped in pain and when the midwife handed her the two bundles the father growled "Two? I thought there would be only one?!" but stopped when the midwife shushed him saying "Your wife is dying! Have some dignity..."

Nodding then he kneeled down and as he was kissing his wife's sweaty head she called out again "My babies.. let me see them..please.." when the midwife placed the two boys on the woman's chest she let out a small gasp of air when she gazed at the two sleeping boys- one of them was born with hair as dark as night while the other ones hair had already started becoming a light yellow "why do they look like that?" The father questioned angrily "What do you mean?" The midwife questioned as the mother's shaky hand stroked the boy's heads "Look at them.." she whispered, "Promise me..promise me you will look after them yes?" She continued softly as her face became even more translucent.

"I promise my love" the father answered softly as he stroked the mother's face and as he kissed her sweaty cheek the mother lost her fight with death and slipped into his waiting fingers…..

Closing his eyes the father stood up and slowly said "You may go now miss thank you for your service" As the midwife stood up and prepared to leave the father removed the sleeping babies from his dead wife's chest "Goodbye sir" The midwife said softly as she walked out of the families home "may the saints be with you"

Walking into the sitting room the father took in the heavyset blond men brandishing heavy-looking weapons "So you'll take him?" He asked as he shook the first man's large hand "We shall Friedrich, we shall take him and ease him in as one of our own" the man answered with a heavy northern accent "Good..he must never know about his past..understood?" The father said as he handed the men the lighter one of the twins the two men nodded and left.

Back inside the father placed the darker twin inside a small crib and as he was sleeping he made the decision that would change the infant's life he placed a large hand on the infant's forehead and whispered in a strange language when he reached the last word his hand glowed black and the infant's eyes opens to reveal startingly golden pupils "he will be happy now.." said the father softly "he will bring you to the right side" "he will swallow the world and all that's inside of it"

"And you will stand by him won't you?" murmured the father as he walked out of the nursery reaching the door he looked one last time at the boy whose life was about to become a whole lot harder "You will be the one to look out for.."

"Won't you? Cyril?" he finished closing the door behind him with a click.

And in the rickety silver crib, Cyril slept on .not knowing the fate the saints have decided upon him.

Miles away a young girl awoke to her younger sister's terrified screams running over to her wooden crib she peaked over the railing and gasped in shock- her younger sister was rolling around screaming bloody murder, and her hair had turned a silvery color, and when she had opened her eyes they were black "mamma! Pappa! Come quick! It's 'gen!" the young girl screamed as her parents ran inside the nursery and let out a nervous gasp "Oh my!" her father whispered as he picked up the flailing body "what Is it pa?" the young girl asked her father nervously "It seems we have done badly in the eyes of the saints..."

"What do you mean papa?" the young girl asked as her mother's eyes filled with tears "It seems that your sister had been cursed..she has been cursed by the saints," she said letting out a weak sob. The young girl looked at her father in curiosity "Papa what does that mean?!" she asked as her father knelt to look his oldest daughter in the eyes "It means..my dear.. it means you will need to promise me.. promise me you will protect your sister with everything you have inside of you yes?" Her father whispered and when the young girl nodded he hugged her tightly "Everything is going to be ok my dear. I promise" as he led her back into bed and tucked her in "Everything is going to be ok"

The two girls slept on not knowing if their life is ever going to go back to the peaceful way it once was.

As the young boy once again resumed his previous position "Ready? Go!" The instructor shouted over and over again each time getting more and more agitated "Get up you lazy lump!" And as the boy struggled he looked up at the sky "Looks like there's a storm moving toward..finish this quickly boy and head inside for supper yes?" The instructor said suddenly appearing calmer than ever

"Y-yes sir" the boy whispered as he finished up the last exercise "and none of that whimpering!" Nodding the young boy ran back to the children's barracks and started preparing himself for dinner
