Red knows that this tournament is something that will cause the people who told his brother to give his dream up to be there, but as they only knew what Ash wanted them to know and as he starts to head down Mount Silver one of the thoughts that appear in his head are what sort of trainers he will encounter in this tournament.

Sighing he pulls out his Xtransceiver and calls a number saved under the name 'Tulip.'

"Yes, what is the matter Red?" a female voice asks from the device getting Red slightly smile at seeing one of the closest people in his life.

"Oh, not much except I'm going down the mountain for the tournament that's happening in a week," Red explained before looking at his watch and seeing the person he is talking to his adopted sister Domino.

"Really? You're entering a tournament of you're own free will that's surprising I would have thought that I would have had to get Silver or Father to convince you to enter," Domino exclaims in shock and humour.

Domino is a young adult who has blonde hair that reaches her shoulders, she also has violet eyes and is wearing a customised Team Rocket uniform that has a black top and white skirt that has dark pink lines running horizontally near the end of it, she is wearing white thigh-high heeled boots that also have the dark pink line on them.

"How are Silver and Father anyway, sister?" Red asks in curiosity about the health of his youngest brother and his father seeing as he left them mostly in the dark about what he was doing for the past two years.

"Well excluding the fact that you left they are doing all right would not be the complete truth," Domino exclaimed before continuing upon seeing the look Red gave her, "The executives excluding Arianna decided to go rogue after the incident two years ago."

"Those little shits." Red scowls at the mention of the ones who killed his brother right in front of him.

"Well anyways I need to get back to work, so I will talk to you later Red," Domino says as she looks in worry at her brother.

"Alright talk to you later Domino, give father and Silver my regards," Red says with a small smile before hanging up the call. then he pulls out a pair of headphones he turns them on before opening up the music app on his Xtransceiver and letting some music play as he continues his journey down the mountain to the Pokemon Center so that he can then fly over to the Indigo Plateau.

Timeskip

Red had just reached the Indigo Plateau where the tournament was going to be taking place and much to his shock trainers were crowding around a battlefield made for training at the league. Deciding that his registration can wait a little longer he decides to see what is going on.

Upon reaching the field he is treated to the sight of the boy that he met two years ago in a Pokemon battle against a trainer who is wearing a black and dark red cloak that seems to not let any light go to where his face is making it impossible to see who they are.

Having his curiosity get the best of him he turns to the person to his right and asks, "Who are the two people battling?"

Upon suddenly hearing the question the person jumps in surprise before seeing the person who asked before calming themselves replies, "God you scared me but to answer your question, the person with the glasses is a trainer from Hoenn Named Max Maple and the other one was called Aether."

After getting that knowledge he looks back at the battlefield to see what Pokemon are fighting and to his surprise, he sees a shiny Sylveon fighting against an Aggron and the Sylveon is winning the fight.

Sylveon is a quadrupedal, mammalian Pokemon covered with pale cream-coloured fur with pink feet, ears, and tail. It has light blue eyes, long ears with blue interiors and thicker fur, a tiny nose, two stray tufts of fur on top of its head, and two pointed teeth which can be seen when it opens its mouth. There are two bows on its body: one at the base of its left ear and one at its neck. Each bow is pale cream with a pink centre and trails a pair of ribbon-like feelers. The feelers are pale cream and ends the tips with a pink stripe, then a dark blue stripe, and then a light blue colour. It has slender legs with small, three-toed paws and a fluffy, slightly curved tail. With a shiny Sylveon, the pink becomes a light blue and its eyes become pink.

Aggron is a huge, bipedal Pokemon. It primarily has a crusty grey exoskeleton, with plates of silver armour adorned. The armour on its head has two pairs of holes with horns protruding from the foremost holes. Its forehead plating extends past its upper jaw in a small point. It has sky-blue eyes and two nostril-like holes on the tip of its upper jaw. On the rim of its mouth are several pointed, fang-like protrusions and the nape of its neck and back have grey-silver armour sections. It has wide, blunt spikes on its shoulders and grey-silver bands on its arms and legs. Its hands and feet each have three claws. It has a thick, long, black tail. It is said that they wear gouges in their armour as mementos of previous battles.

"What type of battle is this one?" Red asks as he is in a little bit of shock at the fact that there is a trainer who has a Pokemon that is destroying a Pokemon that has the type advantage over it.

"Um, this was a one v one battle," the person said still in shock that a fairy type is crushing a steel/rock type so easily.

"Well damn, this Max kid is being destroyed," Red says in false awe as he knows how bad of a trainer Max is from his father's stories of him trying to get the Earth Badge and failing every time.

The person in shock at the casual jab at the losing trainer asked "Do you think that Max could win at all?"

"Not unless he got extremely lucky but even then it would be a very hard battle to win for him," Red simply said as the Aggron finally fell to a powerful Moonblast. "Well, that's that."

Not waiting on anyone else the person in the cloak starts to walk away with the Sylveon following while wrapping two of its ribbons to his left hand showing the bond that they have.

"Well I still need to sign in for the tournament, do you want to join me?" Red asks the person who was next to him as he starts to turn around to head to the Pokecenter.

"Sure I need to sign up as well," the person responds before asking "What is your name?"

Realizing that he has not thought that someone would ask his name so early in the tournament he hesitates before responding "...My name is Red Satoshi, may I have your name my fair lady?"

Blushing the person stuttered out, "A-apologies my name is Leaf, Leaf Feuille."

"Well nice to meet you Leaf," Red says before thinking "Now that I think about it didn't I know a Leaf back in Pallet?"

"You too, by the way where are you from?" Leaf asks after recovering from the blush she had.

"Technically Pallet Town, but I was mainly raised in Viridian City"

"Wait!? You're a Pallet trainer!?" She yelled in shock over the fact that there is a Pallet trainer who she does not recognise.

"Technically, but Pallet has no fond memories for me" Red clarified.

Red then starts to head to the Pokemon Centre to register, making Leaf run after him so she can also register. But unknown to them there was someone watching their interaction and was shocked at there being two people from Pallet Town, the birthplace of their crush.

"Interesting, I hope they can tell me about him." they say before thinking, "I miss you, Ash Ketchum."
