Author Notes: Hey everyone OnlyCasual coming back at you with another chapter of A Second Chance . I just wanna let everyone who's even taken a look at this story know that I appreciate it. Also that all Reviews and any advice is greatly appreciated. Now onto the important stuff. As far as an update schedule I don't really have one. I wrote that first chapter on a burst of inspiration after taking a pretty good Dab, but I'm hoping to get the story rolling so readers have more then just a a a few chapters to read. So look for at least 5 Chapters to be up before the weekend ends. A little patience will be needed as im currently writing this story from the fanfiction App until I can afford a Laptop. Now let's get on to the story !

Chapter 2: From Viridian With Love!

Walking Up to the start of route 1 I couldn't quite believe it.

I've dreamt about having my own Pokémon journey like every other young kid in my original world, and now I actually get to live that life while the rest of those kids probably hate their lives and work at a dead end warehouse job!

Well not I! I'm gonna take everything this world has to offer and throws at me and make it mine!

Then I came to a sudden stop as I remembered something very important. I'm friends with Ash Ketchum . Trouble magnet extraordinaire, Soon to be number 1 on Team Rockets shit list if they're even a thing in this world.

With those thoughts running through my head I smirked. Well looks like I'll have to be number 2 on that shit list. Who knows maybe I'll end up being Team Rockets kryptonite and Ash will be my side kick.

I laughed at the thought , no way can that happen . Ash has been fate and a certain legendary Pokémon's punching bag since before he was born. I thought to myself .

Me and my future team of Ass Kickers will just have to be ready at all times , and that's the bottom line because JACOB KNIGHT says so!

Doesn't quite sound as badass as when Stone cold says it but it'll be a work in progress I thought with a smile on my face.

Before taking my first step onto Route 1 I looked at Scorbunny on my shoulder and Grace his head a rub

"Hey buddy , I'm gonna have you do some light movement training while we walk to Viridian alright?" I said to him

He looked at me, nodded and then jumped off my shoulder .

I smiled " Alright here's what I want you to do. You see all these trees?" I asked him while pointing at the trees that went on and on down the path

Vulcan nodded and looked at me waiting for the actual instructions with an Eager look on his face that spoke of just how much he wanted to improve .

" Alright buddy , what I want you to do is leap from tree to tree while trying your best to land and shoot off to the next tree as fast as you can. The point of this is just help build up the speed in which you can land and jump and how strong your jumps are. Until we can build up your power your speed is gonna be what sets you apart ." I said to him as I crouched down to ruffle his head .

Scor! Scorbunny! Vulcan said with an excited gleam in his eye.

"Alright Bud, get to hopping but Stay close . Only go a couple trees ahead and then leap back. Keep going in that cycle until you're tired and need a break. Viridian shouldn't be that far and we have plenty of time to get there before night." I finished talking and started walking again.

Vulcan nodded his head and then jumped onto the nearest tree and started his training.

After about 45 minutes of walking Vulcan jumped down besides me and started walking with me

looking down at him I noticed he was breathing a little heavy so I figured he must've needed a break . I reached into my bag and grabbed out a water bottle and took the cap off. Handing it to him I laughed when he chugged the whole thing and let out a small burp .

We kept walking for another 10 minutes when what I was waiting for finally happened . A wild Ratatta jumped in front of us and bared it's white fangs at Vulcan and I.

Finally I can see what Vulcan can do , even if this is only a Rattata I thought to myself.

" Vulcan get ready , I think this Rattata is wants a fight!"

Vulcan jumped in front of me with a loud Scor!

I don't think the Rattata liked what Vulcan said because the next thing I know is snarled and leapt at Vulcan with surprising speed .

My eyes widened , what a little shit! Doesn't he know the rules of Valor

" Vulcan use quick attack to dodge him!" I ordered

Vulcan was pulling off his evasions perfectly . Dodging to the left to the right and over his opponents head . There was just nothing the little Rattata could do. Until it decided I would be an easier target then my Pokémon.

Cheeky little bugger I thought to myself with a smirk. To bad Vulcan won't even let you get close .

"Vulcan , Quick attack into an ember!"

He went straight into action , speeding towards the Rattata I saw Vulcan make contact and the little rat bounce off to the side. The Rattata got up on all fours and snarled again.

strong little rat isn't he? I thought .

It didn't matter tho because Vulcan was gonna finish his mission orders .

Getting up on all fours the Rattata wasn't ready for the ember that hit it in the face stopping it in its tracks or the finishing move I had planned out for it. Time to see how good a grasp Vulcan has on his egg move.

"Vulcan , finish that overgrown rat with a Hi Jump Kick!l I said while pointing to the sky and then to the rat.

Scor!

I watched as Vulcan leapt into the air did a flip and started falling towards the Rattata with a glowing foot. And then there was impact .

A small cloud of dust lifted off the ground from the impact and I heard a squeal followed by Vulcan leaping out of the cloud and towards me with his front never leaving the opponent.

When the dust cleared I was able to see the Rattata laying there. It was breathing , but it was clearly knocked out . That's when I heard rustling from the bushes next to the Rattata.

"Vulcan , back up a little bit we don't know what can be in that bush ."

He listened and took a couple hops backwards but never took his eye off the enemy.

Good I smirked , he has good instincts that should save us against any opponents who like to go for surprise attacks.

Looking back at the bush I noticed a small pack of Rattatas growling at me and coming out of the bushes.

Vulcan tensed seeing that this could be an issue with only 1 of him and 1 of me.

Then the Rattatas dragged their comrade away from the road and into the bushes.

Before they could decide they wanted in on the action I told Vulcan to leap on my shoulder and hold on because I was about to sprint to Viridian as fast as I could. I need some potions and poke balls.

Thinking back on it I came to a realization . Wasn't professor Oak suppose to give me a few free poke balls ?

Old mans memory must be going I thought to myself with a laugh , and then I took off towards Viridian.

Viridian City limits

I read the sign and smiled almost there I thought to myself .

Oh no, I thought to myself as a saw an Officer Jenny walk up to me with a very stern gesture on her face.

If she stops me and accuses me of being a Pokémon thief I'm gonna have a very weird sense of Deja Vu.

Of course with my lack of luck that's exactly what happened

" Stop right there Pokémon thief!" She ended up yelling at me.

I couldn't help it I gave her my best deadpan stare I could manage . Is this lady serious? Just blurting something like that out with no evidence ?

Looking around I saw several people staring at us with looks of shock .

Unbelievable I thought to myself .

looking at the approaching Jenny I stopped her dead in her tracks with the next words I said.

" Oh that's quite the accusation you just said out loud with no evidence and in front of so many people" I said while pointing around us .

"For your sake and your Departments sake I hope you're right , because trust me when I say I have no problem talking to the press about how the Viridian police department likes to make false allegations in broad daylight with a crowd around." I said with my eye brow raised in a manner that basically shouted to her to dig her hole deeper .

Her mouth dropped open and she flinched back as if she'd been struck. I smiled , perfect she can see she's in the wrong here .

"Now that won't be necessary will it? It was all just a small mistake." She said rather nervously.

putting my hand to my chin in the iconic thinking pose I made her wait for a few minutes before I gave my answer.

"Actually I think it is necessary" I said while taking my Pokédex out.

Holding it out so she could grab it I continued talking. " you just accused a brand new trainer of being a Pokémon thief no more then a couple hours after he just started his journey." Looking around I saw a few people were Filming with their PokéGears.

Continuing where I left off " Not only a new trainer ; but a trainer from Professors Oaks lab , and a trainer aiming for the indigo league . Do you know how bad this could've made Professor Oak and myself look? "

She scanned the Pokédex and saw that I was telling the truth about everything . The look of embarrassment on her face was golden to me.

"What do you mean could've ? You aren't going to to say anything now?" She asked hopefully

I laughed out loud and she gave me a confused look

After calming down I pointed around her at everyone recording. She paled considerably.

" I'm sure your department will reach out to me soon as well as the media . Hopefully this can be a lesson to you . Just because you're an officer doesn't mean you can say and do whatever you want with no consequences." I said while taking my Pokédex from her hand.

" Have a good day everyone" I said while looking at all the PokéGears that were filming and winking . With that done I started walking towards the Pokémart .

Entering the Pokémart for the first time was a surreal experience . It looked just like it did in the video games , plus a few extra rows with camping equipment.

Checking my Bank account I smiled . Thank god for odd jobs around pallet town and Professor Oak lending me a little bit of money so I could buy the necessities.

Walking over to the camping Section I picked up one of the newly made expandable backpacks and a single person tent, as well as a pot and pan for cooking on the road.

With that all sorted out I went a grabbed some Pokémon and human food then headed to the counter for the rest of my stuff .

Walking up to the counter the clerk smiled " will this be all young man?" He asked

"Actually sir I'd like 10 poke balls , 5 potions, and 3 antidotes " I told him

The clerk nodded his head and started to grab my items . Looking at the racks behind him I noticed a nice belt with what looked like poke ball holders on it .

Looking at the clerk I asked him " excuse me sire but could you add that belt as well " I pointed at the one I wanted and he smiled and added it to my total.

" With all of your items your total comes out to 2,500 poke dollars . " the clerk said to me .

Nodding with a grimace because that's certainly gonna put a dent in what I have I handed him my Pokédex for the payment.

After finishing my shopping I walked out of the poké Mart and headed for the Pokémon center . Thank god they made them easy to find with the bright red roofs I thought to myself .

Walking into the Pokémon center I went and stood in line to talk to nurse joy about renting a room for the night. Luckily they don't cost much since they're meant for trainers to use anyways .

After talking to Nurse joy and getting a room I decided to head to the training field behind the Center for some more training with Vulcan. I already decided I wanted to have him be blazing fast on the battlefield so with that in mind getting him to learn agility will be the next step .

Walking to the center of the training field I stopped and told Vulcan get off my shoulder .

That's something I noticed about Vulcan , he would much rather sit on my shoulder then be in his poke ball . It makes sense I suppose if I was a Pokémon I wouldn't want to be in a poke ball for long periods of time if I could walk around outside instead.

"Alright Vulcan , for the next 2 hours we are gonna try and get you to start learning the move agility, but on top of that we are gonna discuss how I believe we can make the move Hi Jump Kick your absolute BITCH." I said to him with a smirk on my face.

Vulcan looked at me with what I could only describe as a look of questioning and excitement mixed together , in truth it looked rather funny on the small rabbits face.

Laughing at his look I explained to him my thoughts on his rabbit biology being the key to negating the negative affects of the move if he misses. He looked at me like he understood but I didn't think he did .

" Vulcan if we can get you to to alter your trajectory with your unpowered leg if you miss the attack then you can deal massive damage with an unexpected redirect. The opponent will definitely assume you're just gonna crash and burn." I finished saying with a smirk

Then the true look of realization appeared on his face. Now I think he truly understands.

That's for another day I ended up telling him.

" Alright, I want you to sprint from end to end of the battle field while using quick attack . The goal here is for you to get a a good grasp on that energy and then hold it in instead of letting it out like you do for quick attack that way it's more of a permanent speed boost." I finished up explaining to him.

he nodded his head and got to work , what he didn't expect was for me to be running with him.

Look say what you want , but there was no way I was gonna let this body grow a beer belly too alright! This will be just like football practice when the team had to run the field 15 times back and forth before ending practice .

So with those thoughts in my head I got to work alongside Vulcan.

After about an hour and a half I decided to call it for the night. I needed a shower and sleep and I'm sure Vulcan was just as tired. I'm proud of his progress . He was starting to get a good grasp on Agility , and I could tell he wanted to get it done as fast as possible so we could work on perfecting Hi Jump Kick.

Walking into the Pokémon center I noticed two things . One There were people tied up and among those people was Ash, and two there was a talking cat going on a monologue standing in front of a blue haired man and a pink haired women who were wearing black uniforms with a Red R on the back .

I couldn't help it , I Facepalmed rather loudly and accidentally brought all the attention to myself .

" Well look what we have here James , a new Pokémon to steal." The women spoke

I looked up and met their eyes.

" You're not gonna be stealing any Pokémon today you circus clowns. I mean seriously what is this Viridian Cosplay night?" I said to them

They started to sputter until the pink haired women told the blue haired man to release his Pokémon along with hers.

Out came an Ekans and a Koffing.

Well at least they're not evolved , I thought to myself .

"Alright you two chuckle fucks let's get this show on the road !" I said to them

"Chuckle Fucks?!?! It's Jesse and James (and meowth that's right) and we're gonna make you remember that." The women now identified as Jesse shouted at me

Jesse and James ordered there Pokémon to attack.

"Vulcan use quick attack to get close and then spit an ember right into Ekans face . Don't sit still for long it'll be able to wrap you up and it has support ! " I ordered him

Vulcan sprung into action performing his orders perfectly . Unfortunately even tho the Ekans did coil back in pain it was still a two on one . Vulcan ended up taking a tackle from the Koffing.

Leaping back with a little bit of a wince Bulcan waited for my next command.

"Vulcan , do you think you can perform agility right now?" I asked him

He looked at me and nodded . Suppose I'll have to trust the little guy on this I thought to myself.

"Alright Vulcan , use agility and get in close to the Ekans , keep on the move and pelt it with embers" I ordered

my thought process was clear we needed to take out the more offensive Pokémon first . Koffing are slow from what I remember if we can take out the Ekans we win this fight.

Looking on as Vulcan carried out his orders . Pelting the Ekans with Embers while moving around him I saw our opening when the Ekans exposed the bottom of its mouth .

This is gonna suck for that snake I mused to myself .

"VULCAN QUICK ATTACK RIGHT UNDER THE EKANS MOUTH!" I yelled at him .

Orders received and orders delivered I laughed in my head as Vulcan was instantly on the move . Little bastard is gonna be a monster when he's all grown up I thought to myself.

A very loud THWACK echoed through the room as Vulcan jumped away from the now unconscious Ekans.

I looked across from me and saw Jesse Fuming with what looked like steam coming out of her ears.

"JAMES! tell Koffing to use explode , we still have meowth to protect us." She said with venom in her voice

James swallowed thickly but gave the command , to bad for him I was a few commands ahead and Vulcan was already on the move With his commands .

"Koffing use explode on that little rabbit!" James ordered his Koffing, but then he looked up and a look of horror crossed his face.

Vulcan was already in the air with a High Jump Kick raining down on Koffing but the order still went through.

CRASH! Koffing was sent into Jesse, James , Meowth, and the Ekans . And then he started to glow

Everyone was looking on in horror, and fascination as the Koffing exploded and sent them flying out of the building at a pretty good pace . In the Distance you could hear " Team Rockets blasting off again!".

Yeah!! I yelled out

Everyone in the Pokémon center turned to look at me as I performed the perfect (Suck It!) motion at the ceiling where they just flew out of

"Take that you fucking clowns ! That'll teach you to mess with Jacob Knight and his Scorbunny the Mighty Vulcan !" I shouted out.

I must be rubbing off on Vulcan because he was standing there flexing his little rabbit arm with the biggest grin I've ever seen on such a small face. I was also completely oblivious to everyone else in the room and the one PokéGear that was filming.

"From Viridian with Love you Bastards!" I said as I pointed at the ceiling like I just smashed a home run ball through it.

Then I turned around , and I'm pretty sure I had my first sweat drop moment.

Oh right , there were people here . Then I saw the PokéGear being held up like it was filming. I face palmed. Well that video will be makings it's rounds and wow that's embarrassing , hopefully Daisy doesn't see it I mused.

Walking forward I helped untie everyone then waited for the officers to show up . After giving my statement I was told to go to the police station tomorrow because the chief wanted to talk to me.

I nodded then went up to my room , took a shower and knocked out with Vulcan laying at the bottom of my bed sleeping peacefully .
