Day 5: Jealousy
Wash this feeling away
The soft spring-like breeze blows strongly in the middle of a full moon night, brushing her feathers like a stroke as a contented caw escapes her beak, perched on one of the highest branches of a beautiful bloomed Sakura tree.
The crow can't help but keep enjoying such a gentle stroke, before the sound of footsteps echoes in between the rustle of the centenarian trees surrounding her, prompting her to open her sharp golden eyes on alarm to any possible danger, just to see a gorgeous pink haired priestess walking towards the bloomed trees.
Guuji Yae.
The stoic general in her crow form thinks, noticing how her tiny heart beats faster with the mere sight of the pink haired woman in front of her, each one of her heartbeats matching perfectly with the priestess' steps, before Yae stops under the shelter of the Sacred Sakura, her long hair flowing in the air as its pink color stands out against the moonlight, almost competing with the hundreds of Sakura petals fluttering around.
A shaky sigh escapes her beak completely captivated by such a mesmerizing sight in front of her, noticing then the soft relaxed smile playing on the priestess' lips that contrasts with her usual sly smirk, before she sees Yae crouching, her smile widening encouragingly as she holds out one of her hands to leave it over the sacred ground.
Confused by this sudden gesture, the crow can't help but descend a couple of branches, her little legs walking over the tip of the new branch that holds her weight to watch closely that the sly priestess isn't in danger, when the rustle of a nearby bush alerts her of the presence of somebody else.
Sara gets ready to attack the intruder at any moment, when slowly and timidly, a small nightingale gets out of the bush, walking with difficulty as the crow appreciates a small wound on the poor bird's wing.
A chill runs down her invertebrate spine upon remembering the innumerable times she had to walk around with a wound on her precious wings, but especially, upon remembering the way she broke her wings while trying to escape from the monsters massacring every specimen in the mountain forest where she lived when she was a mere kid.
Her breath becomes labored upon remembering the fear she felt as she ran through the forest pushing the branches out her way, before she threw herself to the abyss, spreading her wings wide away to fly, only to find herself falling as a sharp pain pierced her, crashing onto the ground before she blacked out.
Sara can only flinch at the painful memory, before Yae's soft voice pulls her out of such a traumatic memory, bringing peace to her.
- What happened, little one?
The priestess' voice echoes like a whisper in the middle of the night, getting lost in the blowing breeze as a quiet chirping answers the woman.
Sara's heart skips a beat at the pain laced in the bird's chirping and the worried expression she observes painting the priestess' features, before she sees the pink haired woman taking the small nightingale in her hands carefully, stroking its head.
- Don't worry little one, I'll heal you.
She hears the other woman saying, a reassuring smile adorning now her lips as she comforts the hurt bird, one of her fingers stroking its head much to the little one's delight and Sara's discomfort as she hears the happy chirping escaping its beak instead of a distressed one.
The crow then begins to feel something she can't quite understand bubbling inside her, a heavy and constricted weight settling in her feathered chest that barely lets her breath, her sharp golden eyes following Yae's moves, seeing her petting the small bird's head one last time, before she carefully begins to pull up some bloody feathers that stand out of its wing.
The distressed and pained caw of the nightingale fills now the quiet night mixing with Yae's comforting words and shushing as she carefully tries to move its wing to make sure it's not completely broken beyond healing.
- You're doing great little one, just hold on a little more.
Yae tells the small bird reassuringly while Sara observes her hands taking the wounded wing in between them to then see a pink light enveloping it. And even though the fact of knowing that the small bird will heal and fly again makes her happy, the crow can't help but feel her chest constricting more as she wishes somebody as kind as Yae would have treated her the same way when she passed out in the middle of the ground, pain filling her tiny body as she held her vision tightly against her chest.
As she lied on the bloody grass praying to keep living, praying be able to fly high again, before she blackened out, never being conscious about how the kind person that found her and healed her wings the best she could muster so she could go back to fly high as she prayed for, was a certain pink haired priestess.
Another shaky sigh escapes her beak as she observes how the small bird stops wriggling in pain in Yae's hands, its happy chirping filling the quiet night air once again as a wide and tender smile spreads across the priestess' lips, captivating Sara with it while a feeling of yearn settles in her chest now.
Under her feathered chest, Sara can feel the new emotion springing up, eating her alive as she observes the tender smile returning to Yae's face, her happy giggles mixing with the chirping of the nightingale as she pets it and the small bird pinches her fingers playfully with its beak in return as if they were playing a game that Sara will never get to play.
The constricted feeling in her chest soon increases tighter, making her gasp for air while yearning to be the one in Yae's hands experimenting such a thing, to feel her warmth, her soft touch caressing her silky feathers, massaging her wings as she hears such a melodic giggle filling the air.
Sara doesn't notice how this unknown feeling of yearning and jealousy slowly taking over her becomes so palpable that her golden eyes begin to glow in the dark night, glaring menacingly at the poor small nightingale which instantly notices it and begins to flap its completely recovered wings nervously as it complains sensing danger, before the small bird flies into the vast sky.
A chuckle can be heard as Yae's gaze follows the nightingale's flight into the dark night until disappearing out of her sight, rising from the ground while shaking the dust off her clothes to take a step closer to the Sacred Sakura's trunk, letting her hand rest over it.
A soft smile draws on her lips, before she turns her gaze to the sky, taking pleasure in the mantle of bright stars covering it and the beautiful full moon illuminating it, closing her eyes to enjoy the calm feeling washing over her and the soft breeze blowing, swaying her long hair into the air carrying timid raindrops with it, before she soon feels a light drizzle beginning to fall over her, her calm smile widening at it.
Still perched on her tree, Sara can't help but be completely transfixed by such a captivating sight, feeling her heart fluttering hard against her feathered chest upon being able to witness such a lovely and serene expression adorning the priestess' features and that makes her leap a bit closer to keep enjoying such a enthralling sight.
Sara can't help but observe how the drizzle falling and managing to trespass the refugee of the Sacred Sakura's branches wets Yae's face, timid raindrops traversing her divine features slowly, tracing every inch of her pale skin, every curve, before they keep descending to places that not even her dares to follow with her sharp gaze, prompting the crow general to look away.
A strange feeling begins to bubble inside her once again, ruffling her feathers as she can't help but let her mind wander, envying how even the rain seems to be able to touch Yae's smooth skin so carefree, to feel her warmth just like that small bird did not many minutes ago, before she feels the constricting feeling weighing on her chest coming back at full force, stealing the air off her tiny lungs.
A pained sound escapes her beak as Sara engraves the calming sight of the woman in front of her in her mind to then fly away, leaving the tree she was perched on to fly into the darkness of the night, getting lost in the sound of the rain beginning to fall harder now.
Now in her human form, the general can't help but halt on her walk for a brief moment to let the sight of the woman in front of her calm her down once again, contemplating the pink haired beauty in a better way, admiring her beautiful features bathed by the moonlight as its light stresses her pale skin and the rosy of her cheeks. Her eyes trace them until she sees a welcoming smile appearing on her half-open mouth.
A shaky sigh escapes the general's lips as she keeps admiring Yae's beauty, her heart skipping a beat, or several ones, as she notices the priestess shivering lightly under the rain, her damp hair stuck to her face prompting her to resume her walk and spread her wings wide open to shelter the gorgeous priestess under them and prevent the rain from keep touching and traversing her lovely features.
Sara then notices Yae's lovely smile widening, seeing the priestess taking a step closer into the shelter of her large wings, before she feels her placing one of her warm hands over her feathers, such a simple touch sending an electric jolt through her body while her breath gets caught in her throat.
She hears the pink haired woman letting out a cute giggle, before she buries her damp face into their silkiness, her eyes fluttering open to trap Sara in their mesmerizing amethyst color.
- Until you finally got out of your hiding place and reveal yourself, my little bird.
Another cute giggle escapes the priestess' lips making the general's heart flutter at such melodious sound, before she shivers upon feeling Yae's warm hand running up and down her wings, caressing her feathers in a tender way to then let her hand get lost into their silkiness.
The general barely has the time to open her mouth and reply to her, when she notices Yae's tender smile turning into a knowing smirk.
- You know, I almost feel bad for the small bird. The poor thing had to leave in such a rush upon feeling threatened.
Yae comments playfully yet with feigned dismay, her hand never ceasing caressing Sara's majestic wings as the general lets out a snort not believing her feigned dismay in the slightest.
- But I have to admit that it was certainly cute to witness such a display of jealousy coming out from you.
Yae continues with a giggle, a playful glint shinning in her mesmerizing eyes as a sly smirk adorns her lips, her fangs showing off timidly while a guilty and embarrassing blush creeps up to Sara's cheeks making the general look down in shame.
A loud laugh resonates then in the quiet air, before Sara feels Yae's warm hand cupping her cheek, obliging her to look at her and see a tender smile playing on her lips now.
- You're so endearing cute, my little bird. But as much as I love to see you like that, there's no need to feel such an ugly thing. You're the only bird that holds my heart.
Yae says reassuringly, leaving a last tender caress on the general's cheek, before she finishes shortening their small distance to place a hand on her chest, making Sara's heart race.
Jealousy.
Yae's voice resonates inside her mind giving meaning to everything Sara has been feeling until that very moment, causing the general to bite her lips, before she gasps, tensing up upon the feeling of Yae's head resting on her chest whilst her hand travels down her chest to snake her arms around her waist and hug her, a sweet giggling reverberating against her chest that makes her blush.
Sara then feels how the constricted feeling settled in her chest and that didn't let her breathe slowly begins to fade with such a simple gesture, a fluttering feeling that makes her heart race even more replacing it instead, causing her to blush embarrassedly and self-conscious about the woman resting against her chest being able to hear it yet hoping Yae isn't scared upon the loud and fast beating of her heart.
A shaky sigh escapes her lips as she wraps the priestess in her arms and wings, finally being able to enjoy her warmth too. Finally being able to finally enjoy the soft touch of her hands caressing her feathers with nothing but tenderness as a fond smile adorns Yae's lips at the same time the priestess feels the general relaxing against her.
Sara can't help but wrap her wings around Yae tighter, sheltering her from the rain as she closes her eyes to enjoy such a pleasant sensation, feeling her feathers ruffle in anticipation, awaiting for Yae's tender and warm touch, before a happy and unconscious chirping escapes her lips, causing her to blush even harder than before as Yae's sweet giggles fill the quiet air and Sara's heart.
The general feels the woman in her wings pulling away slightly to look at her with a happy and tender glint in her mesmerizing amethyst eyes that make her heart race for the nth time of the night while a mischievous smirk adorns Yae's lips.
- You're so endearing cute when you do such happy and amusing sounds.
Yae says softly, not a single trace of playfulness laced in her voice while her hand gets lost once again in between the silkiness and wetness of the general's feathers, her soft touch causing not only her heart to flutter, but also her wings.
Soon enough, Sara feels the priestess' free hand making her way up to cup her cheek once again, brushing her thumb over it as the warmth of her touch contrasts with the coldness of her wet skin, before she finally feels her soft lips on hers.
The general tenses up shocked for a brief moment, before she reciprocates the kiss awkwardly, feeling Yae smiling against her lips as she wraps her wings around the beauty in them tighter to shelter her from the rain falling harder now.
- Would you want some hot tea while I dry and preen your wings, my lovely little bird?
Yae offers her ever so kindly, tenderness laced in her voice as she sees the stoic general blush harder, nodding coyly at her too embarrassed about the sweet nickname and the prospect of feeling Yae's hands preening her wings to say anything, afraid even to let out another happy chirping.
- You're seriously so cute.
Yae teases her then, leaving another kiss on Sara's lips as she feels the general taking her in her arms with her wings wrapped tightly around her body to carry her towards the most remote part of the shrine where her private chambers are to enjoy together a pleasant night while sipping some hot tea.
And Sara never felt so happy in her life, brushing Yae's fluffy tail while hearing her purring. Yae for her part, dries and preens her wings, helping her to make the feeling of jealousy settled in her chest to fade completely and be replaced by a fluttering feeling that she will slowly come to understand sheltered away from the rain.
