"WHAT THE HELL?!" Pigsy said in a furious tone.
He was preparing the restaurant before it had opened. He noticed that the fridge was wide open and some food was missing.
"Um, Pigsy? Is everything ok?" Tang asked.
Pigsy had let Tang come in early because MK had somehow convinced him. He had no idea how MK convinced him, but he did.
"Everything is NOT ok." Pigsy responded. "Someone broke into my kitchen!"
"WHAT?!" MK yelled in a shocked tone.
MK was shocked at the news. How did someone break into Pigsy's Noodles? They always locked up the restaurant and the weirdest of it all, there was no signs of broken objects.
"What did they take?" MK asked.
"It looks like they took some mangos, peaches, strawberries, and a can of beans." Pigsy responded. "Surprisingly, they didn't take any money."
"Maybe it was rats?"
"Yeah, rats can totally open a door that's heavier than them!" Pigsy replied in a sarcastic tone.
Tang gave Pigsy an annoyed look. The scholar took his glasses off to clean them and then put them back on. MK, who was very worried about the situation, came up with an idea. Maybe, they could ask Mei to check the security cameras and see what happened.
"Pigsy, maybe we can ask Mei to check the security cameras since she has access to them?" MK suggested.
There was a long pause until the pig spoke again.
"Fine, we can ask Mei to check." Pigsy responded.
Before the pig and the two humans left the restaurant, they made sure to lock up the restaurant very well. They hopped into Pigsy's white van and drove to Mei's house. The pig and the scholar were chatting about something while Wukong's successor was lost in his thoughts.
'Why would someone break into a restaurant and only steal food? Why didn't they steal the money?' MK thought. 'This is so confusing! I really hope that Mei can find out what happened..'
"MK! ARE YOU EVEN LISTENING?!"
The boy was snapped back to reality when he heard his name being called out.
"Sorry! What happened?" MK asked.
"I was trying to tell you that we're here, but you weren't paying attention." Pigsy said, ticked off.
The pig and the two humans had arrived at Mei's house. MK walked up to the door and knocked on it, but he accidentally triggered the security protocol. Mei rushed over to the door to deactivate the protocol.
"Who's here- Oh! Hey MK!" Mei said with a smile.
"Hey Mei! Can you help us with something?" MK asked the dragon horse girl.
"Of course! What do you need help with?"
"Ok, so basically someone broke into Pigsy's restaurant and took a bunch of food. So we need to know who it was and since you can access the cameras super easily, maybe you could check it out?" MK explained.
Mei was very shocked but, she agreed to help. They went inside Mei's house and the gang followed Mei to her room. Once inside Mei's room, she pulled out her laptop to check the security cameras when MK's phone started ringing. Everyone looked at MK and he smiled sheepishly.
"I'll...uh go answer this call!"
MK left the room and looked at his phone to see who was calling him. It was Sandy that was calling him, so he picked up the phone.
"MK, I'm so glad that you picked up! I tried going to Pigsy's restaurant, but it was closed. Anyways, I have something really important to tell you." Sandy said.
"Ok, Sandy I know that this is important and all, but I have a really important thing that I have to do myself." He replied.
"Oh. What is it?"
"Well, Someone broke into Pigsy's restaurant and stole some food. So we are at Mei's house to check the security cameras to see who broke in."
"Yikes! That's really bad then I guess you're not going to like my news either."
"Huh? What were you going to tell me?" MK asked, concerned.
"I saw Macaque in an alleyway this morning and he was acting really strange."
"YOU SAW WHO IN AN ALLEYWAY?!" MK exclaimed.
"MK, KEEP IT DOWN!" Pigsy yelled from the other room.
"Sorry! Anyways, you saw Macaque in an alleyway? He didn't do anything to you, did he?"
"No, he didn't do anything to me, but when I asked about his scarf, he started acting weird, as if he was hiding something in it." Sandy explained.
"Hmm...you're right, that is weird. We'll check out the alleyways after we check the cameras, okay?"
"Okay, MK! Talk to you later!"
"Bye, Sandy!" MK said with a smile that Sandy obviously couldn't see.
He ended the call and went back into Mei's room.
"So who called you?" Tang asked.
"Oh, it was Sandy. He said that he saw Macaque in the alleyway-"
"HE SAW WHO IN THE ALLEYWAY?!" exclaimed the three friends.
"Yep, he saw Macaque in the alleyway and that macaque was acting weird about his scarf." MK replied.
"Well, that's another problem that we have to deal with, but we'll talk about that later." Pigsy said. "Mei, can you see the security footage now?"
"Yep!" Exclaimed Mei. "Now I just have to check this morning's footage."
Mei had rewinded the kitchen's security footage till she saw a familiar face. It was Macaque.
"HOLD THE PHONE! IS THAT MACAQUE?!" Mei exclaimed in a shocked tone.
"WAIT WHAT?! LET ME SEE THAT!" Pigsy said in a concerned tone.
Yep, that was the Six Eared Macaque alright. Everyone was shocked at the news. Macaque had stolen food from Pigsy's. The proof was right there in front of them.
"Ok, so Macaque appeared twice in one day, which is very suspicious. We have to check the alleyways since that was the last place that he was last seen at." MK said.
Everyone agreed on it and so the heros started to head to the alleyways.
Meanwhile with Macaque and Bei Da...
'Geez, why does it feel as if someone is talking about me?' Macaque thought to himself.
He was helping Bei Da look for her cat. They tried calling out his name, attempting to lure him out with some fish, and the whole nine yards! But nothing worked and Bei Da was starting to look a little sad. This made Macaque feel like he had to do something to cheer her up.
"Hey kiddo, it's going to be okay! We're going to find him." Macaque said cheerfully.
"I know, but what if we don't find him?" Bei Da said with a frown.
"Then...um...I'll be here!" The shadow monkey said.
"Really?"
"Yep and you're never getting rid of me!" Macaque said with a smile.
It made Bei Da laugh and Macaque felt happy that he was able to cheer her up. The monkey then heard something, it sounded familiar...
"I think I heard something over here!" Said a young male voice.
It sounded like a certain bandanna wearing successor. Macaque really didn't want to deal with him, so he spotted a nearby abandoned building to hide in.
"Hey bean, let's take a break real quick. I bet you must be tired, right?" Macaque asked.
"Yeah and I'm a little hungry too."
"Kay, I know a good place to take a break in. Follow me!"
Macaque walked over to the abandoned house and Bei Da followed him. They entered the building, closing the door behind them. The place was covered in cobwebs and boxes. The two walked around the building for a while until Macaque heard something once again.
'Are you serious?! Someone else is here too? This day can't get worse, can it?' Macaque thought.
Unfortunately, things got worse. The closer they got to the source of the noise, it sounded familiar. The noise sounded...Australian? It sounded like two Australiens were arguing and then a third person chimed in, it sounded like a raspy female voice.
"Kiddo, I don't think we're alone. Stay behind me, okay?"
End of chapter 3.
