Keno Fasris Invern, formerly the princess of the Kingdom of Invernia, a prodigy who achieved the realm of second-tier spells at a tender age, was currently yelling at her companion.

"Of all the names you could come up with, you came up with 'Blondie'?!" came the high-pitched voice of a young girl with red eyes. "All those guards back there were giving me such weird looks...ugh, It was so embarrassing!".

"I am sorry, Keno. We won't go there now, okay?" came the deep monotone voice of her companion wearing dark robes with a red-green mask with a wide mocking grin.

It had been two years since they had started their adventure together to find a way to save Keno's parents, ever since that they had visited many towns, where they had to hide their undead nature to blend into human society. They had been searching many libraries, consulting many people who might know what happened to the people of her country, but they had yet to find the reason for the incident, much less a cure.

"Alright alright, but we will work on your naming skills afterwards"

"Fine" "But for now, let's return to our inn."

Since, they had already gathered quite a lot of information on the town but regrettably nothing on the situation of Keno's country. They would get ready to depart for, what is known as The Highest Peak of the entire continent, Mt. Claritas.

Mt. Claritas, a mountain said to be so high that some believe it to be the gates to heaven, reaching into the clouds and above that no mortal eye could see its peak even with the best vision enhancing magic. They had learned of it from another town's library and there seems to be some legends concerning about powerful creatures residing near the mountain ranges. With Keno being ecstatic after reading about it, thinking of conquering it and looking at him those red puppy eyes, there was little choice for the overlord to state otherwise.

As the two made it back to their room in the inn, they would now spend the night talking and Satoru telling the tales of Ainz Ooal Gown.

"Alright, today I will tell you about how 37 members of Ainz Ooal Gown managed to take out the gigantic dragon called the Devourer of the Nine Worlds"

Just hearing the name of the beast, Keno could conclude the fact that the beast would have been nothing like the monsters she knew about before meeting Satoru. As Satoru described it's appearance to her, she shuddered at the thought of even looking at the creature. And, after explaining the appearance and a few abilities of the Devourer, Satoru started with the tale that would put any story of the bards to shame.

"-while Ulbert, being one of the main damage dealers continued to use his various high damaging spells to finally take out the Devourer" concluded Satoru, while the sun was already out.

Meanwhile, Keno was attentively listening to his stories with shining, red eyes and thinking about how these living calamities would have easily destroyed the entire world if not for Satoru and his friends.

"You are so awesome, Satoru!" "And, all the other members of Ainz Ooal Gown as well!"

"Kuku...I am glad I make such an excellent story-teller that made you hold onto your breaths"

"Hoo, good one there" said Keno after a little pause, as if deciphering some hidden meaning behind his words.

Meanwhile, Satoru was confused of his partner's strange remark.

Ehh?..What does she mean 'good one'?...I didn't make a jok-oh...ah, forget it

"Now then Keno, let's get ready to depart for Mt. Claritas"

"Yup! I can't wait to see the view from the peak!" said Keno in her usual childish demeanour, trying to bounce on the bed but failing to do so because of the inelastic mattress on the bed.

After packing up their luggage onto the third cart they had purchased since the first was destroyed and the second one had been burned in an attack, our beloved undead were ready to set out on the journey to conquer what the men call The Highest Peak on the entire continent.

As they approached the exit from the city, Satoru spotted the same guard that they had encountered when they first arrived in the city. He couldn't help but chuckle internally at the ridiculous act he had performed infront of him and the many other guards of different cities. As they approached the guard, he initiated:

"ah, Sir Satoru, Are you departing now?...I hope there weren't any inconveniences in your stay in our city."

"There weren't any, thank you for your suggestion earlier, though I still cannot believe that the humans could mistake the Glorious Ancient Ones for those miserable undead!"

"a-ah...I am g-glad to hear there weren't any problems, Sir"

With that, they left the city and laughed as they remembered every other person on whom, they had used that act.

After many days of traveling on their carriage, they were somewhat close to their destination, Mt. Claritas. But what have our two favorite undead been doing as they travel. Surely, Satoru must have been teaching Keno some PK tactics or perhaps Keno would have been going over some magical research?...Why don't we just see it for ourselves?

"-Terrible! Terrible! How can you even call that a joke?!" "I know, I said I won't make fun of you but still, I wasn't ready for that"

"Hrrgh...Then why don't you give me one of your best ones, Miss Keno Joekstar" announced the overlord, seemingly referencing some unknown thing.

...Perhaps we should just skip ahead, as this talk could very well go on forever.

After sorting out their quarrels over the jokes, the two finally decided to set up a camp, as the night was approaching fast.

What's up fellas, Hope you like this, a sort of prologue to this Mini Arc, where the two best undead conquer the highest peak. This is my first time writing ANY fanfiction at all, so I hope you would leave a helpful review for me to read.

I will continue to work on this and you can expect chapters of about 5-6 thousand words, though I cannot exactly comment on a fixed schedule for future chapters.

Good Day
