As Enid stepped out of the bathroom, hair wrapped in a towel and body fully clothed in her uniform, Wednesday presented their gift. In their excitement, black claws tapped along the gift box and they found themselves shifting more into their demonic form as they became more overwhelmed by their excitement."I got you a gift, I hope you like it Mistress..."

Enid grinned, obviously surprised as she took the box, her hand brushing against Wednesday's fingers. Thankfully, their gloves kept them from receiving a vision.

Enid opened the box, curious and smiling. She dropped it immediately, gagging at the smell of blood. Wednesday frowned at the sight, confused when Enid grabbed their wrists, claws digging into their skin and tears in her eyes.

"Wednesday what the fuck?!" The air was pushed from their lungs as the wolf tackled them, completely ignoring the gift. It was wrong, she didn't like it, she hated it. She didn't accept their courtship.

Enid's breath tickled their face and they couldn't help inhaling her scent, tears falling onto skin and feeling as if it burned. No such thing happened, but Wednesday could feel themselves breaking at the mere thought of Enid being afraid of their gift. The wolf was holding onto her, crying, shaking, disgusted.

"W- Why would you give me that?! Wednesday you hurt someone!"

Wednesday felt a whine build in their throat and they looked away from Enid, feeling shame for once in their life. "It was a courting gift, my lady..."

Enid stopped, scrubbing at her eyes and backing away from Wednesday, climbing onto her bed and hugging a plush frog.

"C- Can I be alone for a while?" Enid's voice was soft, scratchy and Wednesday had to fight every instinct to comfort their mate, they instead nodded and walked out of the room after getting up, trying to understand what they'd done incorrectly with their courting gift.

Enid spent a good hour in the dorm before leaving and heading to class, trying to distract herself from both Wednesday and the gross gift. She was going to ignore the demon, but he became concerned when she didn't see Wednesday during any classes, not even at lunch.

The demon was hiding in the library, one of the few crystal balls in the school held captive as they hid in a dark corner. Wednesday's hair was falling into their face and they looked as if they'd allowed themselves to cry. The ball lit up, foggy and revealing the familiar eerie sight of the Addams Family mansion.

Gomez Addams, Wednesday's father was sitting in front of the ball, resting by the fireplace in the living room. Wednesday wouldn't admit the relief that flooded into them at the sight of their father. Gomez grinned at the sight of his eldest child, but frowned when he noticed how upset they'd seemed.

"Mi pajarito, what's wrong? What has your master done to hurt you?"

Wednesday felt a shameful whine rise in their throat and they had to look away from their father, their throat choking up as they attempted to explain.

"She disliked my courting gift..." Wednesday murmured, glancing back at their father to see his reaction. The man looked upset, surprised and he grabbed his rapier, lips pulled into a snarl.

"I shall kill the one that has denied your love!" He declared, raising his weapon into the air. Wednesday frowned, shaking their head furiously.

"No Father, please! I'm sure it was a misunderstanding... She's squeamish of blood, I should've remembered. What would you suggest I give to a wolf of the sun?" Gomez relaxed slowly, pursing his lips in thought and still gripping the hilt of his fencing sword.

"I do not know, my darling vulture... Perhaps ask your mother?"

Wednesday stopped immediately, looking up from their moping to stare at their father. "You know she'd get herself involved with this if I disclosed information."

"Perhaps that's for the best, you don't know what your sun likes, your mother may be able to help you find a more suitable gift for one not of our nature. "

"She's a wolf, yet she's terrified of blood. How have I received such a cursed mistress? I'm a bird of sorrow, not of love." Gomez chuckled, nodding in agreement.

"Wait here my Nightingale, I'll send Thing for you, yes?"

"The assistance wouldn't be dissuaded." Wednesday agreed, watching Gomez get up and leave the crystal's view. They ended the call, setting the crystal ball down to explore the library. Any excuse to stay away from classes would be useful, so research on werewolves would be especially useful.

Hours passed before the two saw each other again, Enid was returning to her room and Wednesday was perched on their bed, a large pile of books on the floor, taken from the library. Enid stared, frowning and thinking.

"How did you get these up here?" She finally asked, noticing that most of the titles mentioned werewolves. Was Wednesday doing research on her?

Wednesday glanced up from their book, giving Enid a small smile.

"I had a helping hand." They replied, their head tilting and slightly jutting toward a stitched up hand, it was balancing on its wrist, the cut far too clean to be normal. In it's fingers, a black dahlia was held out to Enid.

"If I may, I would like to court you. The werewolf way, as you seem uncomfortable with a demon's devotion of love."
