Jason didn't know what was more frustrating, The fact that he was stuck here in the boring old cottage, or the fact that Michelle was being a telescope hog, by using the "I'm the Oldest" excuse.
Groaning, He looked around to see if there was anything to use to make Michelle move a little bit...faster. His eyes then landed on those silly penguin figurines that Michelle was playing with earlier...and an Idea sprung into his head. Grabbing the toy ship, he began to stuff them inside. "After a Short Lunch break, Captain Manolo and his team of botanists resume their search for a perfect bonsai breeding ground." He announced, running past Michelle and making spaceship sounds.
He ran past her again, hoping to get a reaction out of her, But unfortunately, the only thing he got was Michelle mockingly saying "I can't hear you!" Now Jason's eyes narrowed into slits. Fine, If she didn't hear him, he would Make her hear him. Getting up behind her, he made one more obnoxiously loud spaceship sound. But unfortunately...This didn't rattle Michelle in the slightest. Jason grumbled. If his sister didn't hear him, then maybe a little more physical moves would-
Jason's thoughts were cut off as he accidentally tripped over a toolbox, that made him fall backwards, and made him accidentally throw the ship into the air. Landing on the ground, Jason watched as he saw the ship fall into a box, Cringing as he hoped the damage wasn't too much, he quickly ran over to the box, but to his surprise, the ship bounced out of the box, the hatch now fully closed at the top as the sound of what sounded like an engine starting was heard.
Jason almost has to rub his eyes. Maybe that fall was harder than he thought. However, when he saw that the ship was now fully flying in the air on its own, he assumed that he finally cracked. "H-Huh?! M-Michelle! The ship is f-flying by itself!" He exclaimed, hoping that his sister could see it too. Unfortunately, Michelle, still thinking that this was another trick by Jason, just shrugged it off as she mockingly said "Nice try Jason."
"N-No! Really!" Jason says, trying to get her to turn around, when the ship flew directly in front of him. Curiosity and Fear coursed through Jason's body as the ship hovered in the air in front of his face. Backing away slightly, Jason's foot almost slipped when he saw that he was near the entrance of the attic. Knowing it wouldn't end well if he fell, he stood his ground as the hatch of the ship opened up, revealing light inside.
"Jason T Conrad?" a voice asked from inside. Jason looked into the ship, and he could almost swear that his brain had finally snapped, as there was now a small penguin inside the, Fully alive and talking to him. "Huh?!" was the only thing he could say as the penguin adressed him again "We need your help!" He said in a almost heroic voice. Jason shook his head in disbelief "You're...You're alive!" He exclaimed, once again just missing the step of the attic.
"'Course we are Kid." Another voice with an Australian accent said, from a much smaller penguin "It's much easier to do our jobs that way." He said. The heroic sounding penguin spoke again "Get in here Jason, The galaxy waits for NO MAN." He said, but to Jason, he couldn't have sounded more put there. Not only was the ship a toy, and the penguins mere figurines moments ago, but he was at least 10 times bigger than the ship, the best he could do was stick his hand in there.
"Huh? I can't...I'm too big." He protested, hoping that would be the end of it, but the penguin just spoke to him again. "Ah too big, too big. When I was your size I was TWICE your size." He said...much to Jason's confusion, But that quickly wore off as he heard that penguin whisper "Dr Fidgel, Galeezel him." to a much skinner penguin. "Yes, Right away." the skinnier penguin said, before pulling out what looked to be a strange looking ray gun.
He then shot out what looked to be a claw from said gun and...wait, was it getting bigger? Jason shook his head in disbelief, but to his shock, that claw WAS getting bigger! Jason's eyes widened as the Claw was now as big as him. Just as he backed away, and almost lost his balance on the attic's step, He felt metal clasp around him, and his feet no longer touching the ground. Jason really thought that he was crazy, but that claw felt REAL.
Jason tried to get it off of him (as well as try to figure out if he actually did crack from boredom) when he felt himself getting pulled backwards. Letting out a yell, he watched as the world around him began to grow larger, Or was it him getting smaller. The various boxes and items around the attic starting to grow larger as Jason got smaller, the farther he got pulled back. Once the pulling stopped, he could feel the claw finally let go, and his feet finally touch the ground again...the solid, metal, ground of a now working spaceship, Surrounded by the now alive penguin crew.
Jason struggled to wrap his head around what was happening "I...I...I can't believe you guys are alive!" He exclaimed breathlessly, as the biggest one replied to him in a somewhat carefree way, while playing with his hair "Of course we are." "Either that or you're daydreaming." The smaller penguin said, giving him a hard pat on the back. "That's true, Sensors indicate that he could be daydreaming." The skinnier penguin said, holding Jason's head.
"But no time for small talk now we've got work to do." the smaller one said. Jason's head was still reeling from all this, but a thought suddenly struck him: What about Michelle? "What about my sister? Is she coming?" He asked, secretly hoping that she'd stay behind. The last thing he wanted was to deal with her millions of miles away from Earth. That's when the big haired penguin picked him up.
"Don't worry! She'll get her chance, But right now you're the one that we need." He said, pushing Jason's glasses back onto his face. That's when he let go...and Jason fell back on the ground "Alright boys! Strap yourselves in, it could be a bumpy ride." He said, as the other penguins scrambled around the ship. Jason's eyes shimmered as his heart began to race with excitement, a real space adventure!
The bespectacled boy looked around for a spot on the ship as he heard the engine of it revving. He spotted one seat near a small round window, while a much bigger penguin let him go first. Jason smiled as he began to run over to it, before said penguin picked him up...much to his confusion. Looking up, he was wondering what he was doing, until the penguin leaped into the air, and into the seat, while squishing the two of them into the window.
Jason managed to get his face from off the window before looking at the penguin that grabbed him "Helloooooo!" he said in a cheerful (if not somewhat derpy) British voice. "Um. Hi. Do you know...where we're going?" Jason asked. this confused the flightless bird, until he gave the simplest answer "Up!" He said. Jason gave a bored look "Right. OK." he replied, not going to get much out of him.
Moments later, The ship finally zoomed off, Rushing around the room faster than you could "Bonsai!" the small toy flew around an oblivious Michelle, before it finally whooshed out of the cottage, and into the vastness of space. But to an Oblivious Michelle, it was nothing more than an other annoying trick from Jason.
"You'll have to do better than that Jason."
