The mornings were a time of calm within Nevermore halls, when students would sluggishly walk to breakfast and to their first period.
Wednesday was one of the few students that woke before the sun and went down to breakfast, always returning with food for Enid. But this morning the young wolf requested to go to breakfast with them. It was early, the sun shining through the large windows of the dining hall, causing many students to his in discomfort, including Wednesday.
Enid glanced at her roommate and took off her blazer, throwing it carefully over Wednesday's body without a thought. Confused, the shorter teen leaned into the soft fabric of the jacket and picked up the black tumbler that they kept their morning coffee in. Every demon fed from something while in the human realm, and young demons often had to deal with drinks that held all the nutrients one might need if they're unable to hunt properly. Wednesday was a skilled hunter, as was Pugsley, but no demon was allowed to hunt while on Nevermore grounds, it was a sacred rule that every demonic student knew, but many didn't adhere to such a thing. A demon fed up on sins of flesh and blood, and to remove a large part of their diet was something many demons despised.
The Addams family was an old clan, one with power. As such, Weems changed the dietary restrictions, to be certain no student would lash out from improper sustainance. Specifically, Wednesday.
The demon in question sat beside Enid with a plate of meat, a raw stake that was much like ones the furs would have, though the animal was different. Yes, sustaining themselves on animals was possible, but it never properly fed them and they wouldn't be satisfied, so it was better to simply slip human into the meat selection for the demonic family staying within Nevermore's walls.
It was immoral and not legal, Weems was well aware of that. However, it was rare to have a demon visit the school, and accomodations hadn't needed to be made for a few decades. Wednesday and Pugsley were both a rather special case in the demonic line, the Addams family was old and darkened with breeds one would never imagine. They were vastly different to the other demons that lurked among shadows and fed themselves by their specific sins. Gomez was the master of wrath, and Morticia had taken over as the mistress of lust years before Pugsley and Wednesday were conceived, none in the family was restricted by one sin to feed themselves, but they all preferred meats to quell their hunting desires. Weems knew from first hand experience, when she and Morticia were roommates together as children.
Wednesday leaned into Enid's side, the wolf whining in dispair at the trophy case within the hall by the staff's table, another win of the Poe cup that didn't go to them. Wednesday was confused, not understanding the Desire to win such a thing. Unaware that Enid wanted the cup to hopefully impress them. They ate in companionable silence, since none of their companions were there to talk to, and that left Enid nervously tapping her foot against the floor.
"My lady, we can retreat to our dwelling if you are unwell." Wednesday spoke quietly, their face nuzzled against Enid's shoulder as they pressed light kisses to her arm. Tail wagging behind them, it knocked into a passing student, the extractable spikes digging into the boy. Wednesday turned and snarled, enraged by anyone touching their tail.
Their wolf gently pulled their tail away, helping the boy up and checking him for injury. She smiled when she saw it was only a few shallow slices into his leg. She seemed pleased, until her eyes darkened and narrowed, a low growl rising in her throat as her claws extracted themselves, she gently patted his shoulder.
"You're not too injured, that's good! But if you touch Wednesday like that again, I'll give you even worse of a mark. Got it?" The boy panicked, he was a faceless, from what Wednesday could tell. He seemed afraid as he nodded and backed away from the growling wolf.
Enid calmed down when the apparent threat was gone and Wednesday's blank gaze softened when they met eyes. Enid pulled her from the table, picking up her bag and passing Wednesday theirs.
"Come on, Let's go to class Willa. I think we're done with breakfast this morning." Wednesday nodded, a fire sparking to life in their core as a purr escaped their throat. They adorded seeing Enid act so aggressively.
"Anything you desire Mistress." They muttered as they rose and followed the peppy wolf to first period.

5th period was an elective class, for students that wished to learn about demons. But some students, like the Addams children themselves, also had mandatory attendance to learn more about themselves, which seemed weird to Enid.
She was one of the few to want to learn about demons for extra credits, just for the fun of learning about her roommate more.
Enid and Wednesday sat side by side, desk partners at the front of the class. For Wednesday's assistance in examples, or so their parents said.
Enid was curious about her best friend, but found reading outside of classes to be extremely hard. So, with the odd and very anti curriculum the class was, she found herself taking multiple notes as the Addams parents spoke about their lives as demonic creatures. Multiple students asked questions, from the physical appearances to the very instincts of a demon.
And then someone had to ask about their mating rituals...
Wednesday at first froze when the question was asked, glancing to their left to look at Enid almost nervously. The wolf raised an eyebrow, frowning at them in confusion.
Morticia took charge of answering, aware of how passionate her husband could be with romance.
"A demon mates for life, and often when mating with their lover or lovers, they will corrupt the soul of that individual. As such, the individual will go through changes both mentally and physically. In a way, they will become demonic in nature as well, and will never be able to go to the purgatory mortals reside in."
"What kind of changes happen?" Enid had raised her hand, and Wednesday gripped their pen, almost breaking it as they tried to calm themselves. Enid was nervous, seemingly curious about their mating. But the question felt wrong, and the room felt too constricting, awkward and uncomfortable.
"It varies from soul to soul, my dear. But it's quite similar to the transformation of a wolf." Morticia smiled at Enid, meeting eyes with her child.
She leaned close to Gomez, a hand grazing his horn to catch his attention from a different question's explanation.
"It seems our young wolf has begun the change, we must prepare Wednesday after classes."
With the wolf's question answered, They continued class until the bell rang and students left, the two parents watching their eldest walk out with their mate.
Gomez teared up, using a handkerchief to wipe at his face, Morticia holding onto her husband.
"Our darling Wednesday has grown up, and we must prepare them for their future."
