28 years ago, on a distant island,

An abnormal baby was born. Not exactly, as this baby was normal, but also not normal as it was born to something called a mage family. But the baby's mother died due to being hunted down by the mage's association, leaving this boy for his own father to raise alone. His father, Norikata Emiya, was an eccentric individual despite coming from a shallow and weak bloodline of Magi. Was given a sealing designation by the Clock tower and thus had to go on the run in order to survive and to prevent his power from being taken away by the Clock tower to be studied and used in their research. The woman who he had married was once again killed by the mage's association, and thus, Norikata had to take his son and run from place to place with him, and the young baby boy was obviously unaware of these events.

Several Years Later,

Norikata Emiya, the man who was on the run, settled down in a rather obscure location that the mage association would not find and thus not be able to track him down so easily. That locale in question was Alimango Island, located far away from the rest of the likely spots the Mages Association would look at in order to track him down. It was located in the Philippines, a place that was remote and very much the last spot the Clock tower would bother looking for. Therefore, it would be an ideal location for a runaway magus and his young son to stay there for the time being until it was safe to get out and move to a more secure location. Thus, Norikata set up his research facilities, brought up some properties far away from the locales, and, in addition to this, had an escape plan ready in case that the Clock tower somehow finds a way to track him down and arrives here to capture him. Lastly, after settling on the island for some time, he finds an assistant for his work: one of the villagers who lived on the other side of the island named Shirley, who signed up to be Norikata's assistant and, thus inevitably, grew to admire and respect the professor for his dedication to his works and studies as well as his research into his family's magecraft Time Manipulation. He did this by taking and growing a flower up to a certain point and then manipulating the flow of time to keep the object in chronostasis. Thus, although the flower never grew, it forever stopped ageing and will never wither away, even if one were to never give it water or plant food for life. He did this for about 10 years at this point in his career; however, his son was still playing with the locals and living his life out normally, blissfully unaware of the real purpose behind his father's experiments. To be fair, neither did Shirley, the "assistant" to the professor, know about his real intentions or what he intended to do with his research.

Kerry's POV: I get up in the morning. It is very early too, but my father is out already and has left me breakfast on the table, so I brush my teeth and do what needs to be done. After I take care of the necessary things, I head to the kitchen to see what kind of breakfast my father makes for me. It is local food that I have never tried before, so I decided to eat it to see how good it is compared to the stuff that I have been getting before this day. I took a bite of this stuff, and it was very different compared to what I have eaten, but, oddly enough, it is very good, so I don't really have space to complain. I finished eating this new food my dad gave me and headed out to see my father, who was right around the corner with his serious look and sharp eyes. He greeted me with his faint smile and his serious look as he gave me a glance.

Norikata's POV: Kiritsugu We need to talk. I must tell you about something that I have been working on before you run off.

But before he could say what he wanted to say, the young boy ran off into the village to play with the locals there, much to his father's utter disappointment.

Once there, however, he was bullied and relentlessly tormented by the locals due to the fact that they saw the boy as an outsider and a foreigner that they didn't recognise nor wanted in their group due to not being "one of them". Months pass by, and the bullying gets more and more intense in its nature and scope as well. That is, until one day, a girl from the village comes over and befriends this boy. Her name was Shirley, and yes, it is the same girl who helps with the professor, but Kerry, the boy, doesn't know that yet.

After playing with the kids, with whom he had finally gained their trust and loyalty, He decided to get into the car, and they decided to drive up to the village. In the meantime, they decided to talk about the origin of the name of the island, among other fascinating things relating to its history.

Shirley and Kerry, do you know what the name of this island actually means and the whole history behind it?

Kerry: Nuh uh, I don't know. Isn't the name of this island Aramingo, which, if I remember correctly from what I heard from dad, means crab in our native language?

Shirley: Yes, Kerry You are right; it does in fact mean crab in the name of this island. But I have something even more fascinating to tell you, Kerry. Long ago, this was a place where they would make offerings to the sea gods who ruled this place. One day, a girl who was very poor and had absolutely nothing to feed or sacrifice to the sea gods decided to take some of the food that had been set out by the village as an offering to the sea gods. The sea gods were so upset by this that they decided to turn the girl who gave them the fruits into a crab.

Kerry: Wow, that doesn't sound like a happy story, and that is where this legend comes from?

Shirley: According to legends, the shrine where the people on the island used to worship these sea gods was located way up in the mountains. I would say where your house is; that is where the shrine was located, to be precise. That is why everyone is so weary of me going there day in and day out, saying that if I keep going there, I will end up being cursed for life, and a disaster is waiting to happen.

Kerry: Really, huh? If that's the case, why is everyone nice to me now?

Shirley: Of course they are nice to you; you are not an outsider to them anymore, unlike when you first came over here, when everybody used to bully you a lot, saying that you were short and that you had a really weird name to say and pronounce, among other things too. But now, the village just sees you and treats you as my little brother. To add on to this, Kerry, you have settled in to this place nicely, and I congratulate you for that.

Kerry: Hey, you were the one that called my name weird, and you caused everyone else to hope on that trend, and thus, they began to bully me because of what you did. Now I guess they see me as your little brother, not that I am complaining in the sense that it is a step up from what happened before. On top of that, you were the one who started this trend of calling me Kerry in the first place.

Shirley: That's because your actual name is really hard to pronounce, and I mean it. Kir Kirit,

Kerry: Kiritsugu

Shirley: Kerishugu

Kerry: Not even close enough, Shirley.

Shirley:Oops, sorry, Kerry.

They arrived at the Emiya household as Shirley parked the old and beat-up pickup truck that looked like a beat-up green Chevrolet from the 1940s, and Kerry got out and went to the table to eat his lunch that his father had made for him.

Kerry:Dad, what are you doing?.

Norikata: This is my 100th success story out of all the ones I collected and perfected using my technique for my experiment.

Kerry: Amazing dad These flowers have never died out, and you haven't seemed to water them or feed plant food to them, and they haven't withered away, so what gives, dad?

Norikata:Listen, son, I have altered the flow of time. These flowers will not grow and do not need things like flower feed or water to survive. But the flowers here will also not grow anymore. Think of me applying a time capsule to them so that the flowers will always remain in this state no matter what, unless I undo the alteration of time I did to them.

Kerry: Awesome dad, that is so cool.

Norikata: The better question is now: will the same thing apply to a human being? It's easy to perform on inanimate objects like flowers, but a human is what I am really interested in.

Shirley came bursting out of the shed and had a pot with a flower that had been seemingly frozen too. She scrambled out and yelled out, "Sorry for the wait, professor, here is my flower," as she gave it to the professor and his stack of flowers that had thus far been collected.

Kerry: Shirley? What's she doing here, dad?

Norikata: Shirley has been watching closely and learning while she assists me. She has the natural gift and talent to be a mage.

Shirley: Come on, professor, you did most of the work. I only watched you and helped out while failing most of the time and only getting it right this first time.

Kerry: Hey dad, can I do what Shirley said? I mean, may I help you out using my magic to make the flowers stop and make them freeze?

Shirley: Yes, Kerry, you can totally do it, and I believe in you. I think if you had a little bit of help and direction, you could do it, right, professor?

Norikata: NO Kiritsugu and Shirley, this is not a game where you can goof around. It is far too early for you to try it, and it is not a game. The risks and dangers are far too much for you to bear, and I only let Shirley try it because she has the necessary experience and skill to succeed.

Norikata Emiya leaves the premises and goes to the shed to plan out his master plan and assess the situation so far that has unfolded. He then continues on as he lets Shirley do more experiments and keeps his own son out of this as usual due to, well, the fat in his eyes, Kerry or Kiristugu not being ready to undergo the experiments with him.

The Next Day..

Shirley: Father Simon, why don't you understand?

Simon: Shirley

Shirley: Father Simon, everyone in town has the professor all wrong. I am begging you—he isn't this evil mad scientist that you seem to think he is.

Simon: Shirley, let's talk inside so that we will not cause a scene outside and attract unnecessary guests. Besides, if you keep going up to that mansion, something terrible will happen to not just you but to everybody on the island, and then what?

Kerry: Maybe I should spend more time with the villagers.

Several Hours later...

We see Kerry and Shirley sitting on the back of that old pickup truck that Shirley used a couple days ago to drive Kerry to his home.

Shirley: Father Simon has it in him against the professor for some reason. He keeps going on about how that man is evil and is pure trouble, and so on and so forth, and tells me I must stop going up to visit him lest I suffer something unspeakably terrible in the future. Check this out, Kerry. My father gave this to me a couple hours ago; he says I should always keep it with me, and it's a powerful talisman.

Kerry: You aren't scared of my father at all. That's a first, but it's expected since you work with him.

Shirley: Not at all. I realise that the magical research that he does isn't exactly normal, but the professor's discoveries and research could make history itself, and that is a big deal because it could change the world we live in. I think he is amazing, not some madman we should fear and hate because everyone else hates him because of the church.

Shirley eats the watermelon after that, and Kerry questions her as to why she is using the dagger to cut the melon, and she says it's easy to use and it's right there to use.

Several Hours later...

Shirley: See you tomorrow. Bye.

Kerry: What's wrong? Shirley

Shirley: Keeping a flower blooming forever is really amazing magic.

Kerry: But you're doing it to Shirley.

Shirley: The work with the flowers is all I can do, Kerry. The professor can do so much more than what I can do. The medicines he makes could make humans effectively immortal. I want him to use his research for the good of all human beings and humanity so that everyone knows how cool and amazing the professor is and that he isn't some secret monster. But he has given up on that dream. I was thinking you could carry on this dream, Kerry.

Kerry: Come on, Shirley, if anyone could do it, it would be you. You are the best student he has had, Shirley.

Shirley: Kerry I am not really his student; at best, I am his assistant, running his errands, helping him out when he does stuff, and so on. Look at that broken flower. I am not his student, so even when Father Simon says bad things about him, there is nothing I can say back to him. Kerry, you do realise that everything he has done so far he plans to continue through you. You're his heir; there is no doubt about it. He is preparing all of this so that you can finish what he planned to achieve even if he fails. It's just a little too soon for you; that's why he discouraged you from helping out sooner, that's all. Come with me, Kerry. Let's go to the forest and discuss something important.

Thus, Shirley and Kiritsugu went to the forest, started making their way to the body of water, and sat down. They discussed what they wanted to be when they grew up and other things for their future. Kerry kept it a secret what his dream was to do with his dad's power, so they left after ending on that note.

The Following day...

Kerry got up from his bed as the sun's beams shone down on him. He rubbed his eyes and decided to stand up, and a noise was heard as the door to his tiny room was opened by his father.

Norikata: Kiritsugu You didn't, by any chance, sneak into my workshop last night, did you?

Kiritsugu:Huh, no dad. I didn't promise.

Norikata stated, "I see, then I will punish the one who did it swiftly and decisively. And whatever you do, Don't leave the house and stay away from the villagers, okay?"

Kerry: Why dad?

Norikata: Because of something, it will happen soon or not soon, but just trust me and stay here. Don't go running off, or else I will punish you harshly for breaking one of my orders.

A Few Hours Later...

Kiritsugu had enough and decided to break his father's curfew. He headed out and decided to check where Shirley was, as he hadn't seen her for hours at this point.

Kerry: Hey guys, have you seen Shirley at this point? You know where she is too?

The children stated that they hadn't seen Shirley and had no idea where she was lurking. Thus, Kiritsugu decided to search for her in her own house. He tried knocking on the door, but it didn't do anything as no one answered it. He then decided to open the door and search inside the premises for her. As he searched, she was nowhere to be found inside, although he did find something bizarre: a capsule being opened up. This was not good, as Kerry KNEW what this was and tried searching to see if Shirley would be alright.

He then heard chickens outside and biting and rustling noises. As he opened the backdoor and tried searching, he saw a blood-stained chicken with some blood covering its wings, and then he saw two more hens coming from around the house as he used that trail to see where the hens came from.

Much to his utter shock, he saw Shirley eating the hen, which was mostly covered in blood, as she looked back at him with an expression that conveyed how animalistic she had become at this point.

Kerry: Shirley

As he ran to her, he heard her muffed response as she said "Kerry" in a ragged and animalistic voice as she scooped back into the hen's cage and locked herself, much to the shock of Kerry.

Shirley: Kerry I only wanted to prove how the professor's research worked. But it didn't work out at all. RARARAAAAAAARAARAAA as she screamed and yelled

She gave Kerry a dagger that Father Simon had given her to make her safe, and she begged Kerry to kill her, saying that she couldn't hold back her bloodlust as a dead apostle as she kept tearing the cage and her own frail body apart, even resorting to eating her own blood, which was a gruesome sight to say the least, as Shirley begged Kerry to kill her before it was too late and kept on urging him to do so to finish the job.

Kerry hesitated and went to the church, informing Father Simon of what had just happened. "Father Shirley has gone mad; she has turned into a Daemon and is now eating chickens and drinking their blood as well, not just eating the meat."

Simon: This looks serious; let's go, Kerry.

As the duo went, they arrived at the spot where Kerry saw everything and where the blood stain of the chickens was. Simon asked Kerry again if Shirley really did this, and Kerry affirmed it again, saying it was indeed her that was doing this. After that, they headed to the church, and Simon instructed Kerry to stay put as he informed everyone else of what had transpired.

Kerry was sitting there as he was scared by what he had seen just a few hours ago of his best friend eating her own arm off to survive and eating a chicken and drinking its blood to survive and tame her bloodlust.

He checked the window and saw a creature that had bitten Father Simon, causing him to jolt and stumble back in fear. He was struck by more fear as more dead apostles kept crawling into the church and kept getting closer and closer to his position.

Suddenly, a blade had pierced the door and killed the dead, who were trying to get inside the room where the boy was. As church inquisitors showed up in the shadows and eliminated the dead apostles that had shown up as they stood guard against the horde that was about to come. In that time, Kerry escaped using the back window in the room he was in and thus came to see more villagers being turned into mindless foot soldiers of the dead, as he escaped them for a bit and saw the village he once knew as nothing but a burning wreckage that had been set on fire as he cried out "What is all of this, and why is it happening to my place".

"Two rules for us: Burn all and kill all. Kill everything that moves, including non-dead apostles. Cover this thing up by burning everything to the ground, fellas. It's the policy of the mage's association whenever something like a dead apostle outbreak happens. You can't say I am a bloodthirsty monster now. It's the rules." Cornelius Aiba, one of the enforcers, stated without sugarcoating what the mage's association really came for, as Cornelius kept on burning everything in sight to cover up the dead apostle incident. As Kerry kept on running and stumbled as he saw Father Simon as a dead apostle, he stuttered and stumbled back again. He turned around and saw another group of dead apostles behind him as he kept screaming for help and kept on panicking.

Suddenly, A tall woman with a small shirt and blue hair and eyes with a pixie cut came in and started to shotgun some of the dead apostles. She then used her duel pistols and shot the remaining dead that were advancing near Kerry and her way.

Natalia: It looks like we got here just a little too late, it seems.

Kerry: Who are you, woman? What are you guys here to do?

Natalia: Don't you think you should worry about yourself first, kid? Well, if you just stand there, you will be joining the dead and will get killed as a result.

10 Minutes Later...

Kerry: What is going on here? Who did all of this? and why would they burn the village to the ground?

Natalia: Surely you must have heard of them before. What you guys call vampires. But the name we use is dead apostles.

Kerry; Apostles?

Natalia: The dead apostles drink the blood of others to increase their numbers. Nearly everybody on this island has become one now, and here we are having to clean up the mess that they caused. So now we have two groups down there trying to kill them all and clean them up for good. The first is the holy church and their group of inquisitors. They believe that it is alright, without a shadow of a doubt, to slay anyone in the name of God. They will kill anyone who they even suspect is connected to dead apostles or who they suspect had their blood sucked. They have no mercy for dead apostles whatsoever. The second group is from the mage association; they are harder to explain, to say the least. The mage's association would very much like to keep this a secret to themselves as to who made such bizarre creatures as the dead apostles. Naturally, since their motto is ''all to ourselves," they will kill anyone that they suspect has seen or heard of this incident. It was the mages that set the village on fire, and they want to recover the dead apostles to do experiments on them as well if at all possible from their point of view.

Kerry: So which side are you on?

Natalia: I am something like a salesman for the mage's association. Alright, kid, time to answer one of my questions? I am looking for a mage that is marked for a sealing designation on this island.

Kerry: What's a mage?.

Natalia: I suppose that word has no meaning for you as of now. In simple terms, someone on this island became a dead apostle first; they were provided a medium that turned people into one of these creatures and completed that person's transformation. The mage who is hiding on this island and who conjured up the medium is hiding somewhere on this island, but I don't know exactly where. Can you think of any location or locations that this mage could be hiding out at?

Meanwhile….

Norikata Emiya was getting ready to escape; he had everything he needed, including firearms for self-defence. Water bottles, snacks, and all of his research were far too valuable to lose. He then grabbed all of the stuff he knew or that was basic knowledge in his research, aka his early papers, and burned them up, as he had spare copies laying around on his boat and other escape vehicles he had scattered on this island. In addition to this, he had cash and other essentials packed up to be shipped out as he got his things ready. All of a sudden, the door opens up, and Kiritsugu comes in.

Norikata: Kiristugu, thank goodness you are alive. But, first of all, I told you not to go into the village, and secondly, I told you to stay put at home as well, and you disobeyed my orders as well. Regardless, I shall give you a punishment after we escape.

Kerry: Dad, why were you researching Dead Apostles?

Norikata: Who taught you about this, and how did you know I was doing this? Kiritsugu, don't tell me you have been hanging out with the wrong people and got a slip-up from them.

Kiritsugu: Shirley used the magic on herself.

Norikata: Oh, that's unfortunate, but you can't change what has already happened. It just means Shirley gave me an answer I was already looking for, that's all.

Kiritsugu: Dad, will you use me like you used Shirley for your experiments?.

Norikata: Don't be stupid. A dead apostle that can't control its bloodlust is a failure. But, the Emiya family research requires unlimited time to reach the root, something that frankly a mortal body and lifespan can't offer, nor can it unless I use something that doesn't deteriorate with age and can live on indefinitely. Enter the Dead Apostle. If I perfect this and control the bloodlust of these creatures, I shall have unlimited time to reach the root. Combined with my magecraft, it will be possible at last, a man can only hope. This experiment ended in failure. It seems now that I will have to consider my entire theory from scratch all over again. Kiritsugu, let's save this matter for another time; escaping comes first. I suspected something like this would happen at some point; therefore, I have a motorboat readied up on the coasts to take our things, and we can leave Kiritsugu. We don't have time to get your things, so let's go.

Kiritsugu: No, dad, I will not join you, and I will not escape. You're a monster that turns people into dead apostles and ruins the entire village, and people like you can't exist. That's what I promised Shirley, and that is what I want to be when I grow up, dad. So take your escape and give it back to yourself. I shall take you down now, dad, and put an end to your existence!

Norikata: Kiritsugu, have you lost your mind, you naive idiot? Why are you betraying me now? What has the person who put you up to this offered you that was so compelling that it forced you to go against me? Now I get it; that's why you ran away from me and went to the village where you wanted to be a hero, and you ran into whoever offered you something that would get you to turn against me and rat me out very well then. Sadly, it seems my own son has forsaken me, but I shall deal with you for now.

Kiritsugu stared at his father as he grabbed the talisman Shirley gave him, but to his surprise, Norikata, his father, knocked it away and kicked him with a sharp jab, which sent Kerry flying out the door as he heard his father murmuring, "I always end up losing those close to me; it really is a damn shame. Before I had even given up 12.5% of my crest too, it seemed this kid just had to ruin it and be a pile of waste and shit, sadly. Well, no time to mourn. I must get going. I hate that I did this to my own son, but if my son was going to kill me, what choice did I have?" Kiritsugu loses consciousness as he suffers a strong kick to the head and drops the talisman that his father picked up before leaving his own son to rot. He leaves using the routes he planned to get to the boat and escape safely. Natalia sees the boy lying there on the ground as he was hurt and had suffered bleeding in his head. As blood dropped from his head and he was unconscious, she tries to wake up the kid but to no avail.

Natalia: Hey kid, Kid, wake up. Do you want to get off this wreck or not, and did you kill the mage who was behind this whole incident, yes or no?

Kiritsugu woke up from Natalia's nagging as he opened his eyes and saw the woman he had just moments before met and was spooked out by her until she told him she was the person who told him about the stuff earlier, and she asked him if he had killed the mage that was behind this again. But to her surprise, he didn't answer and forgot about who that even was. It seemed that he suffered temporary amnesia due to how hard he got kicked by whom Natalia presumes to be the mage who turned everyone into dead apostles. It dawned on her that he had escaped once again and had likely taken some way off the island somehow. Fortunately, there was another way to get off the island. There was a spare boat that had been laying around, so the duo took it and decided to go out of this hell that they were staying in and to somewhere new and fresh and indeed far away from this place. Kiritsugu, if he didn't feel guilty enough over Shirley's death and his inability to kill her and the start of this whole incident wasn't enough, his being unable to put an end to a wretched creature of his father was even more damning knowing that his father had escaped and had left him only a small part of what he had intended had he sided with his father. Alas, that never happens, and Kiritsugu leaves the island with the only person he has left, Natalia Kaminski, who, in spite of Kerry's failure, spared him out of pity and the fact that it was a dumb idea to put a kid up to kill his dad and for a crappy reason too.

Kiritsugu: For the next several years, I survived after escaping the island and failing to catch my scumbag dad. But the good news is that I am now living with Natalia Kaminski. I Have learned many skills under her, such as how to assemble a gun, how to take care of myself, and how to fend for my own survival, among other skills that will be useful should I inevitably choose to pursue Natalia's line of work. Natalia is a freelance magus who works alone and has no allegiance to any of the two major organisations that are known by most magi: The Holy Church and The Mage's Association. The rivalry, feud, and bad blood between the two giants is what keeps Natalia's business booming, like the old industrial barons of the 19th century when countries needed steel and wrought iron. She is only interested in how much money she can earn from her hunts. During that time, I have witnessed a lot of tragedies and suffering that mirror the one that occurred on Arimango Island. I also learned that on every single continent, the same horrors happen every single day.

A Few Years Earlier

Kiritsugu is woken up on an operating table as he is bandaged all over his upper body and is bedridden due to the operation that had taken place on him, as indicated by the fact that all of the surgical instruments and all of the medical tools have heavy blood stains on them.

Natalia: Hurts, doesn't it, kid? Anyway, your origin is based on severing and binding; in layman's terms, it is based on cutting and retying. The nuance is different than simply destroying and regenerating; if you cut a rope and reattach it where it was cut, it becomes stronger and more durable. In that sense, it carries the connotation of irreversible change and effect. Kiritsugu, with the kanji for cut and tie, respectively, these bullets I am holding up will be the ace in the hole for you. These are your origin bullets. I took some of your ribs and put some of them in these bullets. Your origin will materialise in anything shot by this bullet; if your target attempts to use any magic against it, it will cut his circuits and thoroughly fry them for good. I have made about 66 of these, so put them to good use and don't waste them, alright kid? I was going to consider what to do with the problem of your magic crest, but it seems your dad already gave you a piece of his crest some time before he caused that incident. Why don't I know? Could it be that he was trying to give his crest over to you over time, but that incident caused him to flee for obvious reasons?

A Few Years Later...

We cut to a scene of Natalia as she sat on her office desk and waited for a printout of her next target that was to come. It finally came out, and she remarked how this target was quite "the piece of work".

Kiritsugu: Do you know this guy personally?

Natalia: The mage turned dead apostle named Odd Borzak uses his bee familiars to turn people into ghouls. The mage's association has put a huge bounty on this guy's head.

Kiritsugu: You know a lot about this guy?

Natalia: Forget it; look, this guy is dangerous and causes destruction wherever he goes. The last town he visited he utterly destroyed and devastated completely.

Kiritsugu: Natalia? Can I have one of those that you have?

Natalia: How old do you have to be to smoke tobacco in your home country? I will not stop you, but it isn't good for you. Trust me.

Kiritsugu took a smoke and decided to puff after taking a cigarette from Natalia, and he laid there waiting until the assignment could get started.

Meanwhile, we are not at the airport, and Natalia is frankly hurrying up as she asked Kiritsugu what the destination of her target was, and he replied that in four days there is a flight from Paris to New York and that Borzak will be on board this flight.

Natalia: I will be handling this myself. This guy is a clever target who managed to give me the slip once. After all, you have to clean up your own messes.

Kiritsugu: So sometimes you even fail once in a while?.

Natalia: That should tell you how tough he really is to catch.

Kiritsugu: What should I do then?.

Natalia: I am fairly certain that this guy has associates working for him in New York, so you should go there and eliminate them all quickly before the plane arrives.

Kiritsugu arrives in New York and prepares himself as he calls a taxi and goes inside to go to his location.

Kiritsugu: You'll fight Borzak alone, then how will you manage?

Natalia: He can't keep his bee familiars on a carryon on the plane, so I think we might be good.

Kiritsugu: I see, there is no risk of him getting away from me this time. What you are probably thinking, right Natalia?

Natalia: Shut your mouth, kid, let's get to work.

Natalia:Kid, do you copy once more?.

Kiritsugu: Loud and clear Natalia I can hear you. Alright, good luck to both of us at this point, then.

At this point, Natalia goes up to the passenger deck and decides to find a seat that is as close to her target as possible without alerting Odd Borak to her presence and compromising the mission. She finds such a seat right behind him and then sits there until she can put him down silently and quickly for good. After a couple minutes after takeoff, she decided to draw a mini magic circle, which she uses to kill Borzak for good. He then falls unconscious while staring at the ceiling. She then orders a drink as the hostesses come by to serve food and drinks.

Meanwhile, in New York, Kiritsugu is going around killing Odd Borzak's minions and is taking them out one by one. He then gets a message from Natalia, who stated to him that she had killed Odd Borzak and that it was far easier than even she had expected it to be. Kiristugu follows this up by stating that he was in fact glad that Natalia was able to kill him with a minimum amount of force and didn't take so long. Natalia burns the bees that she finds in the carryon of Odd Borzak, which she opened up with a pick and used some spray oil to burn the bees that were inside the carryon.

Natalia: Alright, Kiritsugu, his corpse is in the passenger cabin. Are you ready to carry it out yet?

Kiritsugu: I have secured a vehicle; now the only thing we need is a doctor who will carry out our sick patient's treatment.

Natalia: I don't have a licence, if that's okay.

Natalia inspects the doctor's coat she had brought with her to play as a doctor to carry out the 'sick patient," but she hears ruffling noises coming from behind, so she turns around and sees who is there, as she resided on her side arm and saw a cabin crew that had seemed to be taken over by Borzak's bees, which was bad news to her in her mind and reality. She then tells Kiritsugu about how there was a ghoul as he asked her what the commotion was about behind her.

Natalia: We have a big problem here.

Kiritsugu: So Borzak was hiding his main bees inside of himself all along. That is a big mess now. Natalia, you have to get out of the plane now.

Natalia: I am not exactly close to the ground here, and I didn't come prepared to skydive out of this place. It looks like this is an even bigger problem now. They have taken the cockpit now, as I heard the plane rumbling and shaking. It looks like I have no choice now.

Kiritsugu: Natalia What are you going to do now?

Natalia: I am coming back home alive, and I am going to make it carrying Borzak's body. I am going to have to do something about this plane as soon as it falls out of the sky. If I don't, I will be dead. You got something to say, kid?

Kiritsugu: Yea, I do good luck, Natalie. You can do this; I know you can.

Natalia: That should suffice now; let's carry on. Prepare a nice, warm bed, and that should suffice.

Natalia: Hey kid, Are you there? You didn't fall asleep in those hours between us last talking, right?

Kiritsugu: Reading you loud and clear Natalia, it's been a rough morning. We've both been up all night.

Natalia: Kid, if you had slept in a bed last night while I was stuck up here way above, I would have to kill you after this is all over. Now I have good news and bad news. Which do you want to hear first?

Kiritsugu: Start with the good news first for a change.

Natalia: I guess I will start with the good news first: I am alive for now. I also made it up to the cockpit, and the plane in question is also undamaged. I repaired the controls, but that wasn't easy at all, frankly. I also think I can pilot it, assuming the controls are similar to those of a Cessna light aircraft.

Kiritsugu: Have you contacted air traffic control and the airport yet?

Natalia: Actually, at first, those guys thought I was pulling a sick joke and making stuff up. But those kind folks will let me in, as they relented and believed me for real.

Kiritsugu: Now the bad news?

Natalia: I am the only one here who hasn't been bitten or stung by those bees. 300 passengers and crew are now all ghouls and minions of Borzak. All that separates me from the night of the living, flying dead is the cockpit security door that has been activated. Spooky, right?

Kiritsugu: Given everything you have just told me, will you be able to make it out of this alive?

Natalia: Well, the cockpit door is actually pretty tough; they are scratching at it as we speak. But they can't seem to break it down, even with their numbers. It's the landing that's worrying me. This thing is too big for me to handle by myself as well.

Kiritsugu: Natalia I know you will be able to handle it.

Natalia: Were those words of encouragement? It was good to hear from you. She laughed and was being bashful, strangely enough. But I can handle the landing, but the question is, What do I do with all of these monsters in the back?.

Kiritsugu: Don't worry about that; I have it all worked out, so be patient, Natalia.

Natalia: I can always count on you. 50 more minutes till we get to the airport. That's a little bit too long to spend praying. Kid, keep me company for a while, ok?

Kiritsugu: I can do that.

As the boat settled down, Kerry just looked out over the horizon.

Meanwhile, Up in the sky

Natalia: Hey kid, you remember way back when you said you wanted to help me with my work? I remember not being able to respond properly, no matter what I said; it seemed you weren't ready to relent.

Kiritsugu: So I showed that little promise as a student?

Natalia: No, it's not that; you had too much potential. The ability to pull the trigger to kill regardless of your feelings is a skill that most killers take years to fully develop. You had that skill from the very start. It's one hell of a skill, but choosing your occupation based solely on your talents doesn't guarantee your happiness. If you only think of what you should do and ignore what you want to do, you are not a human being; you are a machine. That isn't how a human being should live.

Kiritsugu: I am surprised I thought of you as a much colder person than that.

Natalia: What are you talking about? I am cold. Have I, throughout all of these years, coddled or spoiled you? No, I haven't.

Kiritsugu: True, you have always been a rather strict teacher, and you never once held anything back. You taught me everything you knew.

Natalia: Under normal circumstances, raising a boy like you is the father's job. But I suppose what happened took away that kind of chance for that upbringing to happen. Anyway, I did feel bad about it, but this was the only way of life I knew and was good at; therefore, this was the only thing I could teach you.

Kiritsugu: So do you consider yourself my new dad?

Natalia: I am a full-grown woman, you rude little jerk! At least call me mother.

Kiritsugu: You're right, sorry.

Natalia: I spent an awfully long time in this bloody and gruesome business. So long that I lost track of the fact that I was alone. But it's been pretty entertaining in its own way to have something like a family in my life.

Kiritsugu: For me too, for all of these years, I did think of you as a mother. I was happy to have you.

Natalia: Look kid, we should stop embarrassing stuff to us the next time we see each other. You're throwing me off my game, man. I have to land this thing in 20 minutes. So if I end up laughing over what we were talking about and screw up, I'll be dead for sure.

Kiritsugu: Alright, I'll stop for now.

Natalia: It seems like I am getting too old for this bloody business. Maybe the reason I screwed up so badly is because playing with family seems to have lowered my guard. If that's true, I should walk away or retire.

Kiritsugu: If you quit this job, what would you do with your life?

Natalia: If I weren't working, I guess the only thing left to do would be to really act like a mother.

Thus, on the sea below, a boy grabs a rocket launcher and takes aim at the aircraft that is about to come, and with hesitation in his heart, he decides to kill his own teacher as he fires the shot, and it follows through and thus blows up the aeroplane and takes the lives of everyone on board, including Natalia Kaminski.

Kiritsugu: Did you see that, Shirley? I killed someone close to me this time for real and didn't fail, unlike with my crooked dad. This time I succeeded for real, and it makes me feel sad and like I have cut a hole in my heart. Having to finally kill someone close to me again for good this time hurts. If she landed the plane safely, there is no telling what could've happened; everyone would've died as the bees would've been let out, and another incident would've happened yet again. A sacrifice prevented all of that from happening.

Kiritsugu has his mental breakdown and starts crying due to having to kill someone close to him again. He breaks down into despair and becomes consumed by it.

Prelude

After the Arimago island incident, Norikata Emiya, father of Kiritsugu Emiya, fled the island and managed to flee safely to North America, more particularly Canada, and the reasons he went there are a couple fold: one, a low magus presence due to Canada being an unremarkable country and also having a low population density and having not nearly as superb ley lines as other locales like America or Japan makes it less likely for the mage's association to care about it and thus, less likely to search for him instead of going to Japan and other locales. Two, low church presence as well would help as this would help in being able to experiment with dead apostles and other means that are similar in nature to it that will continue on the Emiya family research that he had to discard and restart over and over again due to complications and other such nuances. However, now that he feels he has found a locale that he will not have to flee or stay at for only a year or couple years tops, he feels he can stay for decades here provided he doesn't mess up, screw up horribly, or get ratted out by the locales in the countryside or the forest, that is besides the point anyways. This is a goldmine for him that he can set his research on and finally attempt to finish in the hopes of reaching the root.

Prelude over

1 Year Later...

It has been exactly one year since the incident with Odd Borzak, and his having to kill off his only true parental figure besides his father has definitely left a scar on Kiritsugu Emiya, the mage killer who now works free lance for the mage's association. He had, at this point, been thinking he could take on an apprentice as a helper. He then decided to travel around war zones to see if he could take an apprentice. He went to Lebanon in the middle of the Lebanese civil war. He had travelled there, not because of the clock tower, but because he was there to see if he could recruit a helper and, secondarily, to save as many people as possible due to his goal of wanting to be a "hero of justice". Thus, he went around saving as many as he could and also finding worthy helpers in the future. He finds a young girl who is on the ground after suffering severe injuries and is face down. He tries to see what is wrong and sees that she is not okay, as she was struggling and had been in extreme discomfort for quite some time. He then rescued her while in grief due to her horrific condition and then asked her name: "Who are you and what is your name?" The girl on the ground didn't reply as she spoke in a muffled voice. Kiritsugu was confused as he got her out of there and decided to do so sneakily in case the people who did this to the girl found out about her being rescued, and thus, he died because of it. So therefore, he took her out carefully, and thus, after they had migrated to a safe spot, Kiritsugu Emiya named this young nameless girl Hisau Maiya after a play he had heard a long while ago, and he decided to train her as his new apprentice soldier and right hand like Natalia had once trained him.

2 Years Later...

It has been over two years since Kiritsugu Emiya saved the girl from the Lebanese civil war and took her on as a new apprentice and soldier in training. Both travelled the world and went on many missions together. However, one day, when they were out on a mission and had completed it, They had received a new contact from a mage family that was all the way in Northern Europe, of all places. Kiritsugu Emiya instructed all of his equipment, including his mystic code, the Thompson contender, to Maiya before he departed for Germany. After the farewells had been exchanged between master and apprentice, Kerry left and arrived at the Einzbern castle, which was located in a place that was always snowing. He arrived there and greeted the Einzbern head, Jubstacheit von Einzbern. Jub, in return, did not say a word as he then spoke out of the thin crevice of a mouth this golem had.

Jubstacheit: Kiritsugu I will direct you to our workshop, which we have on the lowest level. Come with me.

Kiritsugu Emiya followed this ghastly man into the workshop of the Einzbern and descended down the steps. He followed the old man until he reached a test tube in a cylinder that housed a dormant Irisviel, who was asleep in the liquid. Kiritsugu remarked "Why did they give this tool such a beautiful and angelic appearance? It seems almost contradictory if all they intended to do with it was make it the holy grail in physical form".

Jubstacheit: Nonsense Kiritsugu is merely a tool to contain the holy grail and become the lesser grail. She has no other utility or use beyond such a thing, and it is even more foolish to act like I would entertain any requests to give her any sense of self that goes beyond being the grail in form and having the ability to defend itself.

Kiritsugu: I agree with you on that, but why did you make it humanoid in the first place if that was indeed the case, as you just said?

Kiritsugu: Also, this is going to be the Grail vessel. It collects the souls of Heroic Spirits anchored to this world as servants and is then presented as an offering for the Great Grail summoning. A container for that purpose. If it's just a vessel, it should look like one. But why does it have the appearance of a human? Damn it, this makes things difficult.

Kiritsugu: Ah, can you hear me? Do you understand what I'm saying?

Irisviel: Yes, Emiya Kiritsugu.

Kiritsugu: Ah, so you can speak too. I'm surprised.

Irisviel: You seem to have extremely low expectations for Einzbern homunculi.

Kiritsugu: Not at all. I doubt anyone can match the descendants of Justica Lizleihi, Master of Northern Alchemy and Saint of Winter, in creating artificial humans.

Irisviel: That's right, I come with all the functions of a complete human body. I also have magic circuits that far surpass those of a normal person and am branded with a standardised reverse-type magic crest as the default starting point. My potential as a Mage should be greater than yours.

Kiritsugu: Right, that's really great. But I have no need for those functions of yours. You'll be… Damn it, why must I explain these things?

Irisviel: If you aren't satisfied with my functions, you need to make yourself clear, or I won't be able to do anything about them.

Kiritsugu: Are you properly aware of the reason you were created?

Irisviel: Yes. I am the Grail vessel. I will function as the key that will activate the Great Grail in the coming 4th Holy Grail War.

Kiritsugu: Exactly. You're just a container. Regardless of your purpose, you're really no different from a beer mug. Why does the thing have limbs, talk so much, and even lecture its master? I don't get it.

Irisviel: In that case, please allow me to explain. On top of protecting the Grail vessel, which is the most effective method, I have also been given a psyche so I can act independently and evaluate situations. That's what I am.

Kiritsugu: So you're saying I don't need to worry about protecting the Grail vessel because it can make its own decisions and keep itself safe?

Irisviel: That would be correct.

Kiritsugu: Let me ask you, then. Do you really have the ability to defend yourself in battle?

Irisviel: That's how I was designed.

Kiritsugu: Looking at you, I find that hard to believe.

Irisviel: Are you judging me by my appearance?

Kiritsugu: Very well. All I need to do is put it to the test.

Kiritsugu strikes Irisviel.

Kiritsugu: Hey. Are you playing the fool? How could you not even counter such a simple attack? Do you not even have basic self-defence skills?

Irisviel: I had no need to counter it. You are Emiya Kiritsugu and therefore can't possibly want to destroy the Grail vessel.

Kiritsugu: I'm not playing around. If you're a defect that only knows how to talk and can't defend itself, then it's better for me if I destroy you right away and ask the family head to prepare another vessel.

Irisviel: Is returning the blow and fighting with the intent to harm what you define as self-defence?

Kiritsugu: That's right. Got a problem with that?

Irisviel: That's the worst decision I could make to ensure my survival. I should be avoiding dangerous situations as my greatest priority. In the event I make a strategic mistake that puts me in a situation where danger is unavoidable, escape, disguise, deceitful negotiations, and so forth would be the next best options.

Kiritsugu: I'll give it to you straight. Battle strength is what I need, not sophistry. I need agility that kills before being killed, accuracy, and destructive power.

Irisviel: That's not a strategy for survival. If we compare you and me in terms of self-defence, Emiya Kiritsugu, you're weaker than I am.

Kiritsugu: You're unbelievable.

Jubstacheit: If you want proof of the model's durability, then I shall throw her out in the world in the forest where there are many creatures, and we shall see if you will call her useless, weak, or having survival skills after this is over, Kiritsugu.

Acht then threw Iri out in the forest to see if his theory was proven true or not. Kiritsugu Emiya was disgusted by such filthy actions and took action to save Irisviel after her "Great Grandfather" threw her out into the wild forest after that was over. Kiritsugu began to educate Irisviel on the modern world outside this castle. He did this through various mediums such as pictures, films, books, cartoons, movies, documentaries, encyclopaedias, dictionaries, poetry, etc. Anything he could use to communicate the modern world to Iri, he used it very much. After this point, Irisviel became more eloquent and began to be interested in Kiritsugu himself. Kerry, however, declined her offer for marriage, saying she isn't fit for that purpose, and even if he wanted to, they couldn't have kids either, as the policy of the old man dictated that the models should not contain functions that are not needed, as an example, homunculi childbirth is a not-needed function. So therefore, you were not given such a function by the old man, so we can't have children even if we wanted to. Sorry, it's the rules, and I am not about to disobey the old man. to please your feelings, harsh as they may be. Irisviel nodded in understanding and spoke up. "Your right, childbearing is a function that is not given to us homunculi as a prerequisite, so we can't fall in love or have kids then. It's fine; I am meant to be the key that opens the greater grail anyway." Thus, after this point, Kiritsugu Emiya took Irisviel Von Einzbern to the workshop of the Einzbern for the upcoming war that is indeed to start in a few years.

6 Years Later...

Torino, Italy

Kirei: A command seal?.

Tokiomi: Yes, the mark identifies you as a participant in a holy grail war. It is a stigmata that bestows upon you the ability to command a servant, Kirei Kotomine.

Kirei: The holy grail war is the battle for an ancient relic that performs miracles, but why me?

Tokiomi: Normally, those chosen by the grail as masters for the servants are seasoned and skilled mages. Thus, it is highly unusual for someone like you, who has no connection to magic whatsoever, to be chosen as a master.

Kirei: Heroic servants, I still find it strange to command the summons of ancient heroes as familiars.

Tokiomi: I know all of this can be very difficult to believe. But heroes from every age and nation will be brought back to life in the modern world and will kill each other to vie for supremacy—that is the holy grail war.

Resei: Also, there is an unspoken agreement among all that are involved to keep this all a secret. To ensure this rule is kept, someone from the holy church is always sent as an overseer or an observer.

Kirei: Should one of us really be judging a secret battle between heretical and godless magicians?

Tokiomi: A mage's association member would be too partial to one party to ensure fairness. So, once again, just as we did 60 years ago, we will send your father to Fuyuki, like we did the last time, to referee our battle.

Kirei: My father will be coming to Fuyuki. But wait, how can this be considered fair? It is a conflict of interest for the overseer's child to be a participant in this holy grail war.

Resei: Tokiomi?

Tokiomi: Perhaps it's time we get to the point.

Resei: Everything we have thus far spoken about was just the official background regarding the holy grail war. However, there is an additional reason I have introduced you to Mr. Tokiomi Tohsaka here today.

Kirei: What would that be?

Tokiomi: Actually, we had proof a long time ago that the holy grail that appears in Fuyuki is not the sacred relic of the Son of God.

Kirei: So I gather that in order to retrieve it, it would have been given to us at the eighth sacrament assembly.

Resei: Be that as it may, Fuyuki's holy grail is far too powerful to ignore. It is an omnipotent wish-granting device, and who knows what disaster it would unleash should it fall into the wrong hands?

Tokiomi: In which case the best course of action is to ensure that the Fuyuki grail falls into the right hands, hands that would not misuse it.

Resei: The Tohsakas are a family of mages, but they are a mage family with a history of friendship and cooperation with the holy church. We know what kind of person Tokiomi is. More important than anything else is that Tohsaka's intentions for the grail are plain and honourable.

Tokiomi: To reach the root, that is the Tohsaka family's sole desire. But the Einzberns and Matous have forgotten the wish we once shared with them; now they covet it and have more evil and less altruistic intentions for the grail, such as immortality, world conquest, or world government.

Resei: It goes without saying that the plans of the other masters would be even worse than that. Who knows what dark desire they may harbour for the power of the grail should they get their hands on it?

Kirei: That being said, I can infer the goal of my participation is to ensure Tokiomi Tohsaka's victory rather than to prevail myself.

Tokiomi: To achieve our goal, we must conduct ourselves as though we were enemies, but behind the scenes, we will be working together in total secret to soundly defeat the other five masters and assure our victory in the end. And so, Kirei, you will be officially transferred from the church to the mage's association, where you will become my student.

Resei: The official orders have already been issued.

Tokiomi: You must go to Japan to study the principles of magic to become a mage of sufficient strength and skill to command a servant in 3 years, when the battles begin at that time.

Resei: Do you have any questions, Kirei?

Kirei: Only one—how exactly does the grail go about selecting its masters? What kind of criteria does it use?

Tokiomi: The exact criteria it uses are unknown. But it chooses those who need it most.

Kirei: So all the participating masters have a reason to covet the grail?

Tokiomi: Not necessarily I have been told that in the past there have been cases where command seals have appeared on those whom you never expected. Ah, I think I understand; you're still puzzled at how you were chosen as a master by the grail.

Tokiomi: I didn't expect Kirei to give his consent so quickly.

Resei: My son would jump into the fire if the holy church ordered him to do so.

Tokiomi: To be honest, I am a little shocked. From his perspective, he is being drawn into a conflict that has absolutely nothing to do with him.

Resei: No, this is as it should be; perhaps this ordeal would do him some good. Only a few days ago, my son lost his wife. I believe a change of scenery and a difficult new mission to focus on will be needed to nurse his wounds.

2 Years Later...

Fuyuki, Japan

We now go to a big mansion that is located in the Miyama town section of Fuyuki, in the foreigner area, as it is late at night and very dark as it is roughly 8 PM at night and it is roughly spring time. We cut to a dark room with bottles of wine and a desk with glasses that had been emptied out. It was faintly illuminated by the moonlight as it rained heavily, and it was beyond quiet. We witness a strange and eccentric man who is clad in a white, long-sleeve shirt with a crimson tuxedo over it that has black buttons, a blue ribbon, and brown shoes. He has elegant black hair, a goatee, and blue eyes. sitting on the wooden table on a desk as he filled out papers and kept drinking some of the wine that was left over as he then emptied the last bits of the wine in his glass. The room was darker than pitch black, almost lifeless like the man that inhabits the room, and also faintly lit up in the distant corner by candles that were burning. The strange man gets up after finishing his wine bottles and throws them out in the bins that were hidden in a compartment of the room only he can access, and he begins a weird trance position as he sits down in the room and begins what appears to us as meditation. But, in fact, this man's strange and eccentric way of focusing and harnessing his magical energy through emotional stimulation and possibly re-energising his mind and body through this arcane dark ritual where he channelled hate, fear, despair, and all of his conflicted and dark thoughts to keep his mind stable and steady to avoid having to sleep while discarding all positive emotions This strange man known as Tokiomi Tohsaka slept as an adult due to various circumstances that were personal and some out of reach of interference. Although one key contributing factor was an old story where he was almost killed while sleeping, Thus, he vowed to never again sleep to avoid accidents like this and also because of his paranoia and fear of weakness. In Spite of this, he tried to come up with alternate methods to re-energise himself and charge his mind and body with magic circuits. One such method was the very ritual, fittingly named "battle meditation," described before, as he, after 1 to 3 hours of such a silly ritual, got the same benefits as average people do when they sleep for 7, 8, 9, 10 hours, and none of the downsides either, supposedly. However, one major weakness was that the practitioner would be vulnerable to moral corruption by heightening the negative aspects of one's personality by inverting it over time into being egoistic, cold, hateful, and angry, as well as treacherous and disloyal. In addition to this, it also festered detachment from positive experiences as well as an overly pragmatic and heartless personality that would often discard emotional responses or needs. But, for now, Tokiomi wasn't that susceptible to the downsides, at least not yet. It was now 11 p.m. sharp, and he had pondered a serious topic: the future of his second daughter, Sakura. Although if it were truly up to him, he would give both girls a chance to decide whether they wanted to be magi or not, just as his own father had given him a choice between living normally or living as a magus. But both girls possessed immense potential, which, if not in the hands of a proper magus family, would cause dangerous supernatural events to befall the girls or lead to their capture and experimentation by the mage's association. As the Tohsaka family's protection could only be given to one kid, Tokiomi thought that he could auction Sakura away after all. He disliked Sakura's origin and affinity as a heterodox mage that defied the Tohsaka family's affinity for the elements and had some useless affinity that would get her killed by some thug on the street. As far as he knew, Imaginary numbers were a useless affinity, best against spirits and useless against living creatures. Not to mention that there were no other Imaginary Numbers teachers besides the Matou family in Fuyuki. An idea flashed in Tokiomi's head as he thought long and hard about it: why not give Sakura to a mage family that was an ancient ally of the Tohsaka's and that lived in the city and also lived close by? It was the perfect moment; all he had to do was wait for the right moment for it to be enacted. His time had come, as tomorrow morning after breakfast he would hide from his family and wait until someone came to his door. Someone indeed came to the door, and he was excited; it was the Matou elder Zouken himself.

Zolgen: Hahahahha, good evening, Tokiomi. I have come with a proposition, you see. My bloodline has thinned out to the point that children can't have magical potential. One of my useless idiots and a waste of space, Shinji, doesn't have any ability to access his magic circuits. My other son, Kariya, ran away from being the head of the family and is doing some silly and useless things now. Who knows where the rat ran away to, but I hope he never returns. So I propose a trade, Tokiomi: I get one of your children, and you get to make another one of yours the successor to your family bloodline. How does that sound like a deal?

Tokiomi: That sounds like a godsend, Mr. Matou. I thank you for this opportunity to take care of my daughter. Please take her and do whatever you want. I don't care what happens. I don't like her unorthodox magic talent, so please do whatever. Whatever you do is none of my concern after we sign the papers. (gets papers) Alrighty, I have them here. Thus, Tokiomi grabbed Sakura and told her that this man, Zouken Matou, was the trip organiser and that she had to listen to him. She finally relented and went with Zouken, and he just watched as she was sent away with the men and Zouken in the car as he closed the door and said. Goodness, finally, I have one of my other daughters receive the protection of another fellow mage family that are our ancient allies. That was truly a godsend for me, and for Rin, now she has fewer distractions and weaknesses. I mean, what did I say? I meant Rin can now be taught the Tohsaka arts and learn from me personally."

Tokiomi retired to his room for the day as he was sifting through things. As he continued to do so, Rin knocked on the door as she wondered where Sakura was. Tokiomi, not wanting to reveal his secrets, decided to use a spare compartment to get outside the room by using that to exit.

Tokiomi: Ah, Rin, good to see you, so what brings you outside this place?

Rin: Sakura, where is she? I looked around for her, and she was nowhere to be found.

Tokiomi: No need to worry about that, Rin; Sakura is gone on an assignment I sent her on, so she will be back soon. Don't worry about it; go on with your day.

Rin:Alright, father, I will wait for Sakura's return.

A Few Days Later...

Fuyuki Central Park

We observed the park of Fuyuki as it was peaceful and quiet as people played, the sun shone brightly, and the wind was chilly yet not cold.

Kariya: Hi Aoi!

Aoi: Kariya It's good to see you again. You're back from your trip? This one seems to last for a long time.

Kariya: Yeah, I guess it did.

Rin: Uncle Kariya, uncle Kariya, welcome back! .

Kariya: Hi Rin.

Kariya: You're not fooling anyone, you vampire; you only want your hands on the grail so that you can live forever and be granted eternal youth.

Zouken: Hehehehe, nearly 60 years have passed since the last time the masters gathered. But the Matous have, as of yet, not been pawns in the fourth holy grail war. Though you have it inside of you, your brother Byakuya lacks the power to control a servant. But even if we forfeit this round, we could win the next round in 60 years if we prepare ourselves. The Tohsaka girls womb will one day bear us a powerful mage that could prevail. That one has a lot of potential. She could be the key.

Kariya: So in other words, if you get your hands on the grail, you will no longer need Sakura Tohsaka anymore?

Zouken: What is it you are scheming, Kariya?

Kariya: A trade, Zouken. Next year, I will return from the grail war with grail in hand, and in return, you will release Sakura.

Zouken: Hehehehe, don't be a stupid idiot. Kariya, you're a failure, and you haven't trained a day in your life. You actually believe that in a single year you will achieve the power to control a single servant?

Kariya: You have the secret magic to make that happen, and you know it, using your special worm techniques.

Zouken: For the first three days, she did nothing but constantly scream her head off. But on the fourth, she settled down early in the morning, and I threw her into the worm pit to see how long she lasted. She has been there for 12 hours and she is still breathing. The Tohsakas have very powerful inner spirits, it seems.

Kariya tries to run down Sakura, no, not this."

Zouken: What will you do now? She is a broken little girl, ripped from the life she once knew and violated from head to toe by worms. But if you wish to save her from this ordeal, I might be willing to think about it.

Kariya: I agree.

Zouken: But I intend to continue her education until you show results; that much is non-negotiable. I still expect to achieve victory in the next war 60 years from now. But should you somehow manage to retrieve the grail in this war, all the better. Naturally, I will no longer need the girl at that point. Her education will only last a year, and after that, she will be free to go wherever she wants to.

Kariya: You won't renegade on your word, Zouken Matou?

Zouken: You can start as the breeding ground for the worms for about a week. If you don't die or go insane, I will concede you're actually serious about this and will keep my word completely.

Meanwhile…..

Irisviel was staring at the window as she saw it snow and snow until there was no end in sight. Meanwhile, Kiritsugu, her partner and guardian, was researching on his laptop and finally spoke up.

Kiritsugu: It's finally here!

Irisviel: What does it say?

Kiritsugu: It's a report from the spies I sent to the London Clock Tower. It says that the grail decided to choose a master from within the tower itself, the headquarters of the mage's association.

Irisviel: Who is it?

Kiritsugu has a rather big problem; he's the eldest son of the Archibald family, a ninth-generation mage. Kayneth El Melloi Archibald

Meanwhile, at the Clock tower at this very moment,

Kayneth: In the world of mages, a long and distinguished lineage is everything; nothing else matters. This is because magic will not yield its secrets in a single generation, as a parent passes on the fruits of his magical training to his child. Thus, the older the family of mages, the greater their power ultimately becomes. You are no doubt wondering why I begin today's lecture with such an obvious and basic fact. It is because a student from this class submitted a fascinating paper yesterday called How Wizardry Should Be in the New Century. It attempts to make a case against the long-standing traditions of which I just spoke. It claims that if one were to achieve a deep understanding of the techniques and precise control over mana application, it would allow one to overcome any difference in inherent ability. In short, even someone with diluted blood could, through their own efforts, become a master mage. To be honest, I have learned something while reading this. Chatter ensues; silence, please. I will be perfectly frank; this paper is nothing but immature juvenile fantasy. Blood determines a mage's powers and abilities; this is a hard and unchanging reality of this world. Even for you, Waver Velvet, I am very disappointed that one of my students would indulge in this moronic nonsense.

Waver: Sir I was only trying to raise a question that the mage's association has become too reluctant to address.

Kayneth: Mr Velvet, If I recall correctly, your family has only produced masons for three generations, isn't that right? Listen to me: compared to the mage's association's long and illustrious history, your family is no more than a newborn baby. Don't you think a baby should learn to speak before it tries to voice an opinion? Laughter ensues as Waver walks out.

Waver: He made a fool of me; he made a fool of me; HE made a fool of me. Is that a way for a teacher to act? Reading my paper made me jealous, and he couldn't handle it. The pompous fool is afraid of my talent, which is why he embarrassed me in front of everyone.

Thus, at this moment, Waver trips over a cart that carried something for El Melloi, and he is somewhat hurt as the cart man asks him how he is and what happened to him.

Cartman: You're in the spiritual evocation department; why aren't you in class now?

Waver: Well, Mr. Archibald asked me to run an errand for him... That's why I was in a hurry.

Cartman: I see. Would you mind giving this back to him when you go back to class?.

Waver:Ok, sure, why not?

Cartman: Just make sure he gets it. Is it supposed to be very important?

Waver steals it in an act of pure revenge and foolishness, as he then goes to the library to study more and find out what this whole thing is all about.

Waver: It's right here. So it appears all the rumours of that bastard Kayneth Archibald preparing to fight in some mage tournament in the far east were true. According to legend, the Tohsaka, Einzbern, and Makiri, collectively known as the three first families, fought the holy grail war 200 years ago. They worked together to summon the holy grail, said to have the power to grant any wish, and eventually succeeded in it. But the holy grail would only grant one of the families supplications; their cooperation quickly turned into violent and bloody conflict. That was the beginning of the holy grail wars. Ever since then, the holy grail appears once every 60 years in the city of Fuyuki. It selects seven mages from across the world to compete for it and grants them powers. Each magically summons a heroic spirit known as a servant Archer, Sabre, Lancer, Rider, Assassin, Berserker, or caster. Divided into these seven classes of warriors, the servants, guided by their masters, fight each other to the death in secret battles to determine who is worthy to win the grail. So it appears this grail war is a battle of pure strength where stupid influences and titles mean absolutely nothing, and it looks like it's the perfect place for me. Wait, in order to summon a servant, some kind of catalyst connected to them is required. A relic?

Waver opens it and finds the cloth of a hero inside as he books a flight to Japan and sits waiting for a chance to summon this servant.

We now observe the Tohsaka mansion once again as the whirring of a machine strikes up as it begins to write with its mechanical harness that contains a pen that writes complex letters and sentences out of those said letters. Tokiomi had been waiting on the sidelines with a knife in his hand and had heard footsteps coming from the direction of the stairs as he waited for the device to stop writing whatever it was it was writing.

Kirei: That device always struck me as indecent.

Tokiomi: It is a report from the clock tower; it appears that Lord El Melloi has acquired another relic. His participation in the war is certain now.

Kirei: What troubles me is that two of the slots are still unaccounted for.

Tokiomi: The grail chooses seven regardless of skill or power; the ones it chooses to round out the group are often weak or inexperienced; don't concern yourself with them. Speaking of matters of real importance, Kirei? I trust that no one followed you or saw you enter the mansion.

Kirei: No, don't worry about it; no devices or familiars, invisible or visible, are watching me or the mansion right now.

Hassan Of Hundred Faces: You have my guarantee: no matter what tricks or deceptions they use, none can dim the eyes of Hassan the spy's heroic spirit. There is no trace of anyone following my master or watching this house. Please put your mind at ease.

Kirei: If a servant has been manifested by another master, my father is certain to be aware of it. The other mages will not take action, at least for a little while longer. Assassin, you may continue to guard the surrounding area.

Hassan: As you wish. (Disappears into spirit form.)

Tokiomi: It's only a matter of time until that changes. Very soon, this place will be overrun by magical devices and family members sent by other masters to spy on me.

What is that? Kirei stated with curiosity as Tokiomi spoke up with certainty.

Tokiomi: Another investigation. I have been gathering what information I can about the Einzbern master. Nine years ago, the Einzberns, a mage family that is very proud and stubborn and refuses to rely on others or have others suddenly allowed to have an outsider fight as a representative on their behalf, The Einzbern mages have devoted themselves solely to alchemy, rendering them unfit for combat. This explains all of their losses in previous grail wars; they must have finally run out of patience. The man they chose was perfect for their needs. Kiritsugu Emiya, the man known as the mage killer

Meanwhile, a change of scenery occurs as we head to a church.

Acht: We have finally found the relic we have been searching for in Cornwall all these years; if you use it as a catalyst, you will summon what is widely considered to be the strongest of all known sword-wielding heroic spirits. Kiritsugu, this is the greatest gift the Einzberns can offer to the man who is working in service to our needs.

Kiritsugu: Thank you, elder; I am honoured.

Acht: This time, there are to be no survivors. You are to hunt down the other six servants and fulfil the third magic of heaven.

Kiritsugu: Yes, sir!

Meanwhile, back at the Tohsaka mansion,

Kirei: Kiritsugu Emiya, yes, I know that name indeed.

Tokiomi: So even the holy church has heard of this man. Kiritsugu Emiya, the mage killer, was quite infamous in his time. Officially, he was a rogue mage who didn't belong to the association. But the higher-ups of the mage's association found him, shall we say, convenient for their own needs.

Kirei: It sounds like he was quite similar to us, the executioners for the holy church.

Tokiomi: Far worse I can assure you of that point. He spent his life as a freelance master assassin who specialised in exterminating magi. He knows what mages are capable of, so he deals with them in a way that is as unlike a mage as possible for, in his eyes, the best results.

Kirei: Sniping, poisoning, bombs in public places, killing people in their sleep—he once brought down an entire airliner because his target was onboard.

Tokiomi: A man who will do anything without a second thought It is because magi operate outside the laws of the regular world that we must abide by the laws that we have created for ourselves diligently and strictly. But this man lacks even a single trace of a mage's honour or pride; the methods he employs are absolutely unforgivable.

Kirei: Then tell me, what does this Kiritsugu Emiya gain by hiring himself out as a killer?

Tokiomi: Money, I would imagine. As you can read in that report, he has been involved in more than just mage assassinations. He has appeared in war zones all over the planet, offering his services as a mercenary.

Kirei: I see. May I borrow this for a while?.

Meanwhile, at the Einzbern workshop...

Kiritsugu: Alright, let's go over what we know about Iri. Of the seven masters the grail has chosen, we have identified four of them roughly, give or take. Tokiomi Tohsaka, head of the Tohsaka family fire mage, uses jewel magic very formidablely. Kariya Matou, they took the kid who left the family a long time ago, came back a year prior, and made him the Matou representative. That old man must have lost patience or hope at this point. Kayneth El Melloi Archibald's affinity is wind and water; he is also a top expert in summoning, necromancy, and alchemy. Next is me, of course; the fourth, or rather, fifth master afterwards is Kirei Kotomine, representative of his father and the holy church.

Irisviel: He is from the church?

Kiristugu: He is the son of the overseer; father Resei Kotomine reports say he studied under Tokiomi Tohsaka three years ago. Splitting with him after his command spell appeared.

Irisviel: Did something happen?

Kiritsugu: This is his personal history. Read it for yourself.

Irisviel picks up the letter she had gotten and gets to read it right away. " Kirei Kotomine has followed his father on pilgrimages around the world since childhood. He graduated from the Theological College of Manresa St. Ignacio in 1981, where he skipped two grades and graduated valedictorian. He sounds pretty impressive and like a hardworking person like you, Kiritsugu. "

Kiritsugu: But then suddenly, he leaves the primrose path and volunteers for the holy church. Why would someone like that decide to volunteer for a secret church organisation?

Irisviel: Maybe because of his father? It says here that Kotomine is a member of the church's eight-sacrament assembly.

Kiritsugu: He has never shown any passion for anything in his life; he believes in absolutely nothing and has no deep desire or wish to be granted.

Kirei: Then what is he after?

Kiritsugu: Why would he put his life at risk to get the holy grail?

Irisviel: But the grail chose him to be one of the seven masters, right for this war?

Kiritsugu: You're right, he could have some wish he has concealed from everybody, but I can't even begin to imagine what that would even be, and that terrifies me.

Kirei: Kiritsugu Emiya?

Kiritsugu: Kirei Kotomine?

Kirei: His sudden string of battles came to an end nine years ago, and he virtually vanished from sight. It appears that his final encounter with the mages of the north, the Einzberns, was where he finally found his answer. So, I must ask the question: What did he seek in those battles? What was he looking for? And what exactly did he find?

Kirei walked out as the paper or report he had read and pondered just burned up, and the candles that lit the basement of Tokiomi had been blown out, and it returned to total darkness where it came from.

We have a change of scenery as it is now dark and nighttime in the Matou mansion, and Kariya is now laying around and has his hair changed to pasty white as opposed to the black it was before.

Zouken: Well, it seems you have just barely made it. It seems that if the grail chooses you as a master, it means that you are making some progress as a mage. I'll give you that much, Kariya. But look at you; you look like bloody hell. Kariya, is your left leg working alright?

Zouken smashes Kariya's left leg with his cane as Kariya gets mad at Zouken for doing this.

Zouken: Now don't get angry, Kariya. If you get the crest worms inside you and work them up too much, they'll simply devour you from the inside. Either way, I give you a month at best before they start to drain the life out of you.

Kariya: That's plenty.

Zouken: What did you say?

Kariya: I said that would be plenty of time.

Zouken: Hahaha, Kariya, this is your present for surviving an entire year. I found the perfect relic for you now; don't let your loving father's kindness go to waste, Kariya.

Meanwhile….

Waver Velvet was laying down in a big bed in a room he had set himself up in. He was excited that a command spell had appeared on his hand for once, and he was elated that the grail had chosen him as a master. Waver decided he needed to summon his servant as soon as possible, and he couldn't just sit around and let this opportunity go to waste. Waver had dealt with his ''grandparents" (in reality, he had used suggestion magecraft to trick these grandparents into believing that he was their grandson back from abroad. He had done such a questionable thing because he didn't want to drain his finances by booking a high-end hotel and also wanted to avoid his teacher Kayneth's early death.)

Meanwhile…

Kiritsugu: I can't believe they actually found the legendary Excalibur scabbard. Is this thing really 1500 years old?

Irisviel: The object itself is a type of conceptual weapon; it doesn't rust or degrade like ordinary physical objects; it also heals the owner's wounds, like in the legends surrounding it; and it halts the ageing process. Of course, that's only if it is supplied with its original owner's mana.

Kiritsugu: So in other words, the master can use this in tandem with summoned heroic spirit to protect himself in battle.

Irisviel: That is just like you saying that a tool is a tool.

Kiritsugu: That's right. No matter how famous the summoned heroic spirit is, when summoned as a servant, they are nothing but a tool for their master. Anyone who lets their fantasies get the better of them will never have the wherewithal to win this battle.

Irisviel: And because you act this way, my great-grandfather decided this scabbard was the perfect tool for you.

Kiritsugu: What do you think?

Irisviel: Does his gift not satisfy you?

Kiritsugu: Of course it does. Acht did a wonderful job; none of the other masters have something this powerful.

Irisviel: What is wrong with it, then?

Kiritsugu: Given how perfectly the ancient relic is connected to it, The heroic spirit we were after will surely respond to our summons. The king of knights, Arthur Pendragon My own compatibility with him is a secondary concern.

Irisviel: But Arthur, the wielder of Excalibur, is sure to be the strongest sabre-class servant that the grail wars have ever seen.

Kiritsugu: That's true; I'll have a servant far stronger than any other on the battlefield. The question is: how best to use that power and how to make it work for us? To be honest, in terms of ease of use, Caster or Assassin would be far better suited to the way I usually fight.

Irisviel: What good does it do to worry about that before you have even summoned him? We don't know what he was like when he was alive, and besides, if he finds out about your dream and goal, regardless of what strategies you use, he'll understand. We get a change of scenery as Rin is struggling to carry a suitcase as she still tries to stubbornly carry it on. Kirei was descending the stairs when he saw Rin carrying the luggage and struggling. He tried to ask her if she needed help.

Kirei: Hello Rin.

Rin: Oh, hello, Kirei (she says with anger and a scowl).

Kirei: Heading out, that is some heavy luggage you have there.

Rin: That's right I have to go live with the Zenjou family for a while. You're staying to help fight alongside my father in a coming war, aren't you?

Kirei: That's why I am his student—to help him and to learn from him.

Rin: Kirei, can I depend on you? You promise to protect my father to the end? Will you promise to keep him safe?

Kirei: I am sorry, but that's impossible. If this battle were simple enough that I could honestly make that promise, we wouldn't have to send you or your mother away to keep you safe and sound.

Rin: I guess that means I can't trust or like you no matter what.

Kirei: Rin You really shouldn't blurt out what you are thinking out loud; people might get the wrong idea and cast disapproval on your father. He is the man who is educating you, after all.

Rin: My father has nothing to do with it. Listen, Kirei, if you somehow become sloppy and because of that my father gets hurt or worse, I will show you no mercy and I will kill you and chop you to 27 pieces to avenge my father's death if you mess up!

Kirei: (his inner brain monologue) Perhaps I will take your head and mail it to your school teacher and laugh at the untold suffering that will occur.

Aoi: Rin, what are you doing, and why are you yelling and threatening your elders with gruesome murder?

Rin: Well, I um

Kirei: Oh, it's really nothing, maam; she was just giving me encouragement and telling me that my actions have consequences. That's all before we said goodbye. Rin, allow me to say that that big suitcase is far too heavy to carry on your lonesome; please don't destroy yourself.

Rin:No, thank you, Kirei. I will carry it myself.

Aoi: Kirei, do you best to take care of my husband? Please help him achieve his life's greatest desire.

Kirei: I will do my best; please don't worry.

Kirei goes to Tokiomi's room and knocks on the door. As he does, Tokiomi tells him to come in.

Tokiomi: You arrived at a very opportune time. The relic I made arrangements for this morning arrived right now.

Kirei: What is it?

Tokiomi: It's a fossil of the very first snake in this world shedding its skin. If we use this as a catalyst and get the heroic spirit we are after, total victory is as good as ours.

Kariya Matou walks down the hallway as he now suffers from heterochromia and has again had his hair turned bleach white due to a year of having the crest worms inside of him. They talk about some rather pointless stuff and stuff to do with Kariya attempting to win over Sakura to his mission or goal or whatever to "save" her and get the grail, among other things that he hasn't revealed yet. Kariya makes his way down to the basement and finally sees Zouken there with a summoning circle already on the ground.

Zouken: So Kariya, you're finally here. Did you memorise the summoning chant?

Kariya: I did; why?

Zouken: Well, it's quite simple. I am going to add two extra lines to the base chant, and the reason for that is that your abilities as a mage are going to affect the servant's abilities in its normal class due to your rank being much lower than the other masters chosen by the grail. We therefore need to boost the servant's parameters by attempting to modify the servant's class as much as possible. Kariya, to that end, I want you to add affinity insanity to the servant you summon today.

Everyone summons their servants, and they come forth from the circle and are manifested into this world for good, this time under their masters.

(Kiritsugu is narrating the following.)

I, to this point, have endured an untold amount of battles in my own mind as well as for my own mental well-being and have lasted until this final hour, where I must now confront the last master of this war and put an end to it to get world peace with the holy grail. I shall go today to the stadium and fight Kirei Kotomine and stop his plans to get the grail first.

(Narration stops here.)

And so, Kiritsugu Emiya made his way to the place that he suspects Kirei Kotomine was going to hide in order to kill him before something happened. Shortly after, he arrives at the stadium, and he makes his way around the maze of a building, trying to prepare against any ambush that Kirei might have in store. Eventually, he stares down Kotomine as he finds Kotomine at the other end of the massive hallway they are inside of.

They exchanged no words in spite of this being their first in-person meeting outside of simply reading and hearing about each other. Kirei stared down Kerry as he adjusted his golden cross and clenched his fists downward as he bent himself down and was going into some sort of attacking sprint position. Kiritsugu Emiya had resided up his Thompson Contender and was ready to shoot his infamous origin rounds, but Kirei had already begun to sprint, and he had slender rapier blades out as he charged full throttle at Kiritsugu. Kiritsiugu took no certain risks as he shot the bullet out, but Kirei used his command spell and enlarged the black keys that he had wielded as he continued on forward towards Kiritsugu Emiya.

Kiritsugu: Origin rounds cause the target's mana to go violently out of control, which in turn destroys and rips apart their body.

What?" was the man in the black suit's reaction as the giantaic command seal and amped black keys broke apart and Kirei kept charging forwards towards Kiritsugu at full speed. "Time Alter double accel," as the gunman used his magic to speed up time twice and dodge the blow that the executor was about to give him. Kiritsugu utilises his Calco to rapid fire to close the priest down to get a shot at damaging him, but the priest's clothing and vests block the bullet barrage, and Kirei covers himself with his fists to avoid head shots or anything like that that would spill his life over.

"Bullets are useless against me. I have garments that can block small arms fire and even assault-calibre weapons. Your rapid-fire pistol is an outdated antique," Kirei proudly boasted with the smugness that characterises the fake priest.

Kiritsugu Emiya ignored the fake priest's speech and instead thought to himself, "The origin rounds aren't working. No, I get it now: he is using command seals as his mana source, and by the time the round strikes and its magic takes effect, the command seal mana source vanishes. Since he does not use his own magic circuits for attacks, the origin-round magic will not work. But if I land a solid hit, the origin round can still kill him."

Kirei gets into a stance that is all too familiar to those who practise a certain Chinese martial art. "Don't think you will escape next time; now that I know you are moving at double speed, I simply have to adjust the distance to compensate for it." Kirei dashed forward at blinding speed in an irregular attack pattern that surprised Kiritsugu, who was astonished at the level of speed on display. However, he doesn't get the time to be in awe forever as Kirei lands a fist near where his heart is and punches it, sending him flying a couple of metres backwards, which causes the concert wall of the arena hallway to be crushed and leave a giant hole in it. At the same time, in the arena centre, where the theatre room is, the corpse of Irisviel Von Einzbern transforms into the lesser grail as she becomes the golden cup in the centre, which is now levitating slightly above the theatre stage room. Kirei, in the hallway of the stadium, walks away as he sees Kiritsugu. Emiya, his mortal enemy, is on the ground; however, he hears gunfire behind him as his mortal enemy has gotten up and is rapid firing his calico. Kirei, having to block a second time, does so as he tries to hold against the onslaught of bullets with his arms and armour. "Time Alter Double Accel '' as Kerry speeds up his own time by a factor of three, tosses away his calico, and arms himself with another origin round for his Thompson Contender. Meanwhile, Kirei uses another command spell to try and boost his speed up to kill Kiritsugu again as time resumes normally, and he tries to block the origin bullet with his left arm. As the bullet passed through his left hand, it caused him an unbearable amount of pain that cripples his left arm for good at this point. He staggers a bit but stays still and looks at his attacker with sharp eyes. Kiristugu is still against the wall and thinks to himself about the possible options. "I am at a massive disadvantage at close range, and I have lost my calibre; my contender needs reloading, however, Avalon."

"He has a regeneration ability that allows him to instantly heal a destroyed heart? Then I have to go for the brain next time, but my left arm and hand are dead at this point. I must use my right solely from now on." Kirei thought quietly to himself. "Avalon works even on self-inflicted wounds; I have a knife I can use and two grenades remaining," Kiritsugu thought in the meantime. "I have 12 blades remaining and about eight spare command seals left to kill this man," Kirei thought as well. Just as he thought he won, he hears the dreaded words "Time Alter Triple Accel" as the gunman is now right in front of him as he uses the butt of his own Thompson Contender to smash Kirei to pieces, but Kirei uses his broken left arm to halt it as it causes even more searing pain, breaking his bones in that region even more so. Kiritsugu used his knife to try and stab Kirei, but the priest's reflexes and skills were far too great to be let off by a mere knife, as he blocked and swatted it away each time. Kirei used his foot to dislodge Kiritsugu's balance as he was tilted and falling back and tried to strike his head with his right arm and fist. Just as it was about to connect, he heard that dreaded word again, "Time Alter Square Accel," as Kiritsugu dodged Kirei's fatal blow, dislodged himself while in midair, and threw his knife into Kirei's leg, which didn't do anything to the priest as it was harmless. However, this gave him the time to reload his contender, and he is now ready to kill this man, but at the same time, Kirei uses three black keys and dashes forward and throws those black keys as they come tumbling towards Kiritsugu at high speed as he closes in on himself, Kirei, at high speed, ready to finish him off. Kiritsugu uses a risky move at this point to get down, and he shoots Kirei at his foot, which causes him to tumble to the ground in agony as he uses the chance to escape the black keys that were oncoming as he did so by using Double Accel barely. Next, after that, he goes up the stairs to where the lesser grail has overflowed and shines a bright white light that looks like a second sun that causes the grail mud to overflow on the ground below. However, soon after, Sabre arrives at the scene too and is on the opposite end of the place, as she entered from the side entrance and not the front one. When she does so, she hears a voice that she doesn't want to see again forever. Sabre, you're late. What kept you being late? Let me guess it's that black armoured mad dog that gave me trouble very well. Then you are now here."

The Golden Armoured Knight says, with that oh-so-dispensable black hair and that rather iconic style of beards, that only belongs to one civilization.

Sabre: Archer, you mad tyrant here, aren't you giving that grail to me, you spoiled child who has everything he needs and then some?

Gilgamesh: Oh Sabre, you are at your most enjoyable when you're being delusional and disobedient. But why obsess over such a fickle thing as a grail that is supposedly all-powerful and can grant every wish? Sabre, lay down your blade; become married to me; stay with me; fight with me. We shall enjoy our lives here and stop aspiring to these higher ideals. These foolish nonsenses that weaklings believe to become powerful become my treasure, and I shall give you the pleasure of the world and heaven too.

Sabre: No archer I will not yield to a manbaby like you who has rich toys.

Archer shoots his polearms, and it strikes Sabre down in revenge for Sabre humiliating his pride as she is growing in pain and stumbles downward. However, Archer speaks up.

Archer (Gilgamesh): Sabre I will let you answer as many times wrong as you want until you get to the right answer. After all, to be under me and experience the greatest of all things, you must first understand the pain of defying my will, which binds heaven and earth as one.

Sabre: I don't have time for your childish rants. Archer I shall not become your thing, which you can use as a tool whenever and wherever you want, greedy child.

Sabre, however, in return for this roaring statement, gets another halberd from the GOB as a punishment for defying the king of heroes yet again.

Gilgamesh: Sabre, stop this nonsense now and stop defying my will so obstinately for the last time. Become my wife, and let us enjoy this world together!

Sabre finally gets up and decides to take out the halberds that had pierced her sides, much to the delight of Archer Gilgamesh.

Gilgamesh: Ah, Sabre, you have finally decided to make your decision. Once again, I applaud you.

Kiritsugu Emiya finally makes his decision after having tasted the horror of the "holy grail." Before making his way here, he decided on only one course of action.

Kiritsugu: In the name of Kiritsugu Emiya, by my command seal. I order you to kill the archer-class servant NOW.

Sabre obeyed the order that was given to her, as she was imbued with the energy of a command spell.

Archer: No, Sabre, what are you doing? You're supposed to join me, not destroy me, mongrel. How dare you, mongrel, interfere with my garden and treasure?

The golden armoured knight was screaming as Sabre was boosted by the command seal and dashed forward at blinding speed, such that not even the golden knight could counterattack as Sabre cut his head clean off, and he was a headless spirit with no voice or will to defy this act as his body disappeared into spirit particles.

Sabre felt a sigh of relief after killing the golden knight who was obsessing over her only as an object. She felt proud for killing this arrogant and entitled simp and pervert who only saw Sabre as another treasure." She then looked back at Kiritsugu Emiya, her master, as he had another serious look on his face as if he had another command for her to do one last time.

Kiritsugu Emiya: In the name of Kiritsugu Emiya, by my last command seal, I order you to use your noble phantasm at full power to destroy the cursed grail.

Sabre is shaken as her sword begins to take shape and swell in light as she questions, "Why give me the holy grail now? What made you want to destroy the holy grail?"

Kiritsugu: That chalice is not an omnipotent wish-granting device. I had trudged through the mud that this cup had spilled, and let me tell you, it was awful. The toll it demanded was far too great for what it could offer. It has every curse in the world; it only exists to make everyone else suffer as painfully and brutally as possible and to bathe them in the world's evils and misfortunes. Therefore, you will not have your wish granted, Sabre, and any attempt to try will end in tragedy. Do you really need such a device after all? Why not destroy the grail now?

Sabre raised her sword, and she screamed as she blasted the cursed chalice and its equally cursed contents with an Excalibur blast that devastated the stadium and vaped not only her master but everything else, including the lower floors, which is where Kirei was sulking after being crippled by losing his left foot. Kirei looks on at the bright shine of light as it burns him up and destroys the area. It shined so bright that even people from miles away saw the bright light, which shines as if it were a second sun. Kiritsugu Emiya, her master, is vaporised as well by the surrounding light, and everything is cleared up as Sabre stands there at her own deed. She pondered as she was finally free at last to do whatever she wanted, and she then wandered around. She found her scabbard, Avalon, as she retrieved what had rightfully belonged to her, and she then took off as she had nothing left to accomplish at this point and had thus wandered around as a sort of punishment until she vanished, which she did about an hour later as the fourth holy grail war came to an end.
