"And that's how my first date went" all the others girl squealed and Zatanna's story causing her to blush a little. It was a girl's night out again and of course they had to have the traditional boyfriend story and hers just happened to be her first date, the movies with Dick. It was quite a while ago but he has been the only person she's dated and funny enough after her breakup she managed to see him at least everyday and there was never any tension between them. "So correct me if I'm wrong but he's been your only boyfriend?" Meghan asked her to which she nodded sheepishly, since their breakup she just hasn't had the time or courage to delve into another one.

"Well I mean where else is she going to find the perfect man" Barbara scoffed from the edge of table with that comment from Cass, "correction! He's a boy and can we get him off the topic" the others laughed at her as they all knew how Dick was essentially the youngest of the original team and how Zatanna use to be plagued by cougar comments.

"But where is he now anyway…he claims he's taking a break but…." Karen started

"Batboys don't take breaks" the girls all said in unison and laughing and soon Cassie was put on the spot for her relationship with another Batboy, Tim Drake.

Meanwhile

'Boom' the explosion had all civilians and bankers rushing out of the building, whiles the thugs continued to fill their bags with money, totally oblivious to the two birds watching above them. One was in an all black suit with blue outlines and blue bird runnning down the center whiles the other wore the traditional robin suit but with a hood on, Nightwing and robin jump down to meet the convention of robbers who were a lot by the way. "How many people does it take to Rob a bank"

Robin said as he equipped staff and lunged at the criminals, every swing was carefully calculated as he bounced from target to target. He run towards two goons and using his staff to propel over them and leave some mini stuns right under them immediately flashing them allowing Nightwing to knock them out easily. Nightwing was also approached by 5 goons with two charging him from both the left and right, he's able to dodge each thrown punch nonchalantly and grabs the final one pulling out his stick with his empty hand and knocking him out and kicks the knocked out goon into into the other. The remaining three behind him get ready to Launch an attack but Robin runs towards Nightwing and it's thrown into the sky by him from where he's able to knock them out with birdrang.

The two stand back to back as they gather the goons only to meet a Man with a tattoo popped from the safe room. "I got him" Robin said as he charged at him not hearing Nightwing's call for caution, as he closed down the distance he saw the man's hand light up and emit red hot flames at him. Nightwing threw his birdarangs at the now identified meta-human, they exploded with little droplets of water coming out from them, halting his attack the meta jumped back to avoid the water being sprayed from it. Robin was unharmed by the flames seeing that he used his cape to shield himself.

"See…they can't take breaks" Artemis said as she pointed to the TV screen just above them.

"It's a meta-human, this time with fire" He spoke to Nightwing as they had dodge another onslaught of fire from the meta-human. 'Plan needed' Dick thought as they continued to back away from the meta, it's flame thrower like ability a far reaching one and if they don't deal with him quickly they'll be tasting like Christmas Dinner. Star labs was able to give them a dampener for the meta but God knows how he's gonna manage to get close to him.

"They're like 15 minutes away, shouldn't we help them?" Karen's suggestion had them all in thought by they brushed it over, especially Barbara. "They'll be fine, plus we shouldn't interrupt their brooding time"

"Should we stall for backup? Wonder girl and the girls are like 10 minutes away" Dick cringed, he was not going to be saved by Barbara! She'd never let him hear it. They continued to dodge until Dick had an idea pop off he looked to ceiling and saw the emergency sprinklers, he glanced at Tim who glanced and ceiling and nodded at him. They were already activated but if he could increase the pressure. He launched Robin into the air again in an attempt to draw fire just so it would destroy the sprinklers, the plan worked as water became spray down profusely at the meta who wailed as he tried to avoid the sprinklers. "Just a little more" Nightwing said patiently and unfortunately the sprinklers seemed to run out of juice. 'Shit' me muttered under his breath as he and Robin retreated backwards, they would like try to contain the fight here rather than have it spill to other areas of the bank.

"duolc niar" suddenly a cloud appeared on top of the meta as heavy rains begin to befall it and then an arrow erupts trapping the beast in high density polyurethane foam before Wonder girl smashes it into the wall. Dick sighed as he turns to meet the girls, he was definitely not living this down, he walked over to place the dampener on the meta turning him back to his human form. He watches as Cassie engulfs robin in a hug and kisses him, 'eh I'll let him have it'. "Ite epor" Zatanna said as ropes bind the meta-human and she catches his soft smile as she lands beside him.

"Thanks for the help Z" Artemis and the others appear around them and Artemis shoots him a soft glare, "because Artemis and Cassie didn't deal some damage" she said nudging him in his arm causing him to recoil childishly. "Thank you everyone" he said as he made his way toward the incapacitated target.

"I'd like to ask but where have you been for the past 6 months? You said you needed a break but you're doing you know not taking a break" he rubbed his hair sheepishly at Artemi-Tigress and stared back at the target. "Well you know, you guys have been spread thin elsewhere so Batman thought I'd look into these meta-humans for him and also I don't do breaks" the girls all stared at each other leaving the two of confused.

"did we miss something" they said in unison as the girls began laughing.

"Well it's been good but I have to go" Dick said as his bike appeared from out of nowhere into the street, he glanced at Tim who was still talking Cassie and then at the meta. Tim caught a glance at Dick who shook is head signaling him to stay with his girlfriend, he's not Batman, Robin needs some freedom here and there. "Can you guys tell Miss Martian too pick up the meta? There's another thing I need to catch up on" with a wave he zoomed away on his bike.

"Still as busy as ever" Zatanna said as she turned to the others excluding Tim and Cassie who stood just a bit separated from each other, "well girls I think we can call it a night" Zatanna said as she stared at the others and Cassie soon joined them with a little nervousness on her face. "I'm going to umm" the others nodded at her and she jumped to Robin and to left via rooftops. "They are cute" Meghan said as she came out from the bank and stared to the others. "Nightwing left you a souvenir to give to our wonderful mates at Star labs" she sighed and signalled the ship over.

"Goodnight girls"

Zatanna wobbled into her bed room and threw herself onto the bed, she'd just returned from the league meeting after the hangout with the others and meeting Dick again for the first time in like 6 months. But hey at least he was okay, speaking of the devil her phone belled as Dick texted her. She had not changed the sound of his notifications since they broke up, she didn't even remember she had a special one for him.

"Hey"

"Hi, what's up"

"I'm good, you?"

"Been better"

It had been about 5 minutes since he read the message and started typing his reply, 'what the hell is he typing' she yelled out in frustration. She sighed as she realized she's been clutching her phone waiting for his reply like she used to back when they were dating. Good times.

"Thanks for the help today. It was nice seeing you again :)

"It was nothing. And it was nice seeing you as well and you know, you're always welcome back"

Yes. Nightwing officially left them 'on break' six months ago, he never explained why to where but it's barely been a break for him. He's busted several drug busts, mob crimes and meta human sightings all on his alone, this was much more labor than he'd done at with JL and YJL in the past year but yeah he's on 'break'

It had been five minutes since he read that, hopefully he wasn't actually mad. She should clarify that she was joking, she picked up the phone and noticed she'd already done that and groaned.

And she didn't hear from him for another month, but he was still all over the news. She didn't blame though, they both had jobs to do and that was just the name of game. Today though was another hassle for her, maybe she needed a break as well but not his type of break. The members of the league had called for an emergency meeting immediately so here she was first member called to arrive. She knew it had something to do with these 'meta humans'. She watched as he entered the room, well of course he had to be here he basically started this operation after all. "Hey Z" she smiled back as he took his seat beside her.

"Hey"

"You're here early" He said as she glanced at the time on his watch. "Well it was an emergency" he chuckled, 'well they always say that but then again'. Next in line to walk in was Artemis and blue beetle and then Batman. "It seems like everyone is here so I'll keep it brief. The reach succeeded in activating majority of meta-genes in humans and it seems like some people here are trying to improve on their work. We've located 2 places in which meta-human crime has been at a high and also high readings in meta-human radioactivity. We've sent one team to the meta-crime dense area which is located just outside central city. However the place with the most radioactivity is Bialya, native to the light's Queen Bee therefore we need utter quiet in this mission hence the reason I chose you two" Batman concluded the latter pointing to Tigress and Nightwing.

"And you two are the only available leaguers I trust to back them up if anything goes south. The mission is just to inquire anything else comes up you run by base first. Miss Martian will deliver you guys just before the border. Dismissed"

"Can't wait to work with you again" Dick said as he looked to her and Artemis.
