p class="MsoNormal"span style="mso-tab-count: 1;" /spanRebekah Mikaelson was continuing her search for the elusive Katherine Pierce. Her brother, Elijah, had turned it off. It had been because of the death of their other brother, Klaus. She understood, but with it off, he was dangerous. He was worst with it off, because she'd seen even with it on, how much some of his memories affected him. If she hadn't been there a few years ago, the then jogged memories would've been a beacon to their mother, telling them exactly where they were. She never asked what those memories were that their mother had made him remember, but it had been a terrible time for him. Since she couldn't reach him, she was going to the one person that he hopefully cared enough about not to hurt. Or worse. Her search had lasted too long, making her have to abandon her idea of taking a cure to become human. Now, her search landed her in a tiny town that seemed to be just as or smaller than Mystic Falls. It wasn't too far from Virginia though, which she assumed had to have some kind of purpose if she was here. After all, she knew Katherine as a vampire had some kind of connection with Damon, but she never knew much about her. As a human though, she figured Katherine probably was playing everything safe. Being close to Virginia seemed safe enough, since any trouble and she could get help if needed. Especially, when she knew that the only way she'd been able to come here as a human had been having help from Damon. Freya had filled her in so that she could be prepared, before she'd gone looking upon Freya's request. She didn't know everything, though./p

p class="MsoNormal"span style="mso-tab-count: 1;" /spanShe pulled up and parked her black SUV at a diner that looked like it had just had a shootout. It looked like anyone able to get out of there, were making their escape. The Original normally didn't care for Katherine, but that was because she hated the vampire version of her. She didn't know anything about the human version. She hadn't been awake in the 1400's to have met her. Smelling blood and what she vaguely recalled from her short time of meeting her as a vampire, her scent, she got out of her SUV, heading for the diner./p
p class="MsoNormal" /p
p class="MsoNormal" /p
p class="MsoNormal"span style="mso-tab-count: 1;" /spanWhen she entered the diner, there were a lot of people injured that hadn't left yet. Then she saw who she was looking for. With people around, she couldn't just use her speed, so she briskly rushed over to her./p
p class="MsoNormal"span style="mso-tab-count: 1;" /span"Katherine," she said, kneeling at her side. She knew she'd gotten the cure shoved down her throat, so she didn't think she should try her blood. Luckily, she remembered her time as a nurse back in the day. She just hoped she could save her. She could hear her shallow breathing. She then looked over to see someone coming over that wasn't really injured. "Go find a first-aid kit," she told the person. Then she rested a hand on the side of her face, where she wasn't injured. "Stay with me, Katherine." Then, after the first-aid kit had been delivered to her, she told the lady to go. She then looked at Katherine, before starting to tend to her, including fishing any bullets out of her./p

p class="MsoNormal" /p
p class="MsoNormal"span style="mso-tab-count: 1;" /spanAbout half an hour later, she had her in the passenger seat, while she was driving. She was heading for New Orleans. Elijah wasn't there, but she hoped Freya still was. Witch healing was her best bet to save her. As long as she made it that far. Without Katherine, she didn't think they'd be getting their brother back anytime soon./p
p class="MsoNormal" /p
p class="MsoNormal" /p
p class="MsoNormal"span style="mso-tab-count: 1;" /spanWhen Katherine woke up, she didn't feel like she was dying anymore. Actually, she realized that she was healed. She also realized from the sounds outside, she was in New Orleans. Which meant she was at the compound. Then she saw someone in the threshold./p
p class="MsoNormal"span style="mso-tab-count: 1;" /span"You can thank myself and Freya. I found you. Freya healed you."/p
p class="MsoNormal"span style="mso-tab-count: 1;" /spanKat sat up in bed, looking at her./p
p class="MsoNormal"span style="mso-tab-count: 1;" /span"Not that I'm not grateful, but why? You didn't like vampire me last time I checked."/p
p class="MsoNormal"span style="mso-tab-count: 1;" /span"We need your help with something. Besides, Elijah wouldn't have appreciated me letting you die. But he's not here. He's actually the reason that we need your help. I may not like you very much, but I'm willing to set that aside to get our real brother back."/p
p class="MsoNormal"span style="mso-tab-count: 1;" /span"You're gonna need to be a little less cryptic," Kat replied./p
p class="MsoNormal"span style="mso-tab-count: 1;" /span"Nik killed himself to save his daughter, my niece, Hope. Elijah spent too long trying to save him from himself that without him, he couldn't deal with it. He decided to turn it off for a while. If he wasn't being so chaotic, I wouldn't mind, but he's not the brother I know. I couldn't even reach him. I spoke to Freya, and she thought you could. Elijah loved you enough to betray Nik. If he still loves you, I think we can use that to bring him back."/p
p class="MsoNormal"span style="mso-tab-count: 1;" /span"So, you're baiting him with whatever you can, even if it backfires. I still love him, but if he's that out of character, there's no telling what he'll do when he sees me. If you recall, he left me. Not the other way around. I think he gave up on trying to figure me out."/p
p class="MsoNormal" style="text-indent: .5in;"Kat got to her feet, heading over to her./p
p class="MsoNormal" style="text-indent: .5in;""I know you're not a big fan of being put in danger, but we need your help," Rebekah replied./p
p class="MsoNormal"span style="mso-tab-count: 1;" /span"I'll do it, but only for Elijah. Hundreds of years ago, I was the one acting out after I turned mine off. Your other brother killed my mother. I didn't care about my father, but my mother was my best friend. I was actually on my way to kill him, when your brother beat me to it. He did some horrible things. You might have missed the memo, or no one told you, but I had a daughter once. I couldn't find her when I went looking, though. Never knew what happened to her," Kat informed her./p
p class="MsoNormal"span style="mso-tab-count: 1;" /spanKat left the room, heading downstairs towards the parlor. If she was going to try bringing Elijah back, she needed a drink and vervain in her system. She knew better than to face a vampire, emotions on or not, without vervain./p
p class="MsoNormal" /p
p class="MsoNormal" /p
p class="MsoNormal"span style="mso-tab-count: 1;" /spanWhen she entered the parlor, Freya was there./p
p class="MsoNormal"span style="mso-tab-count: 1;" /span"Thanks for the healing. It's been centuries," Kat greeted. "So, where's your usual good brother? Feeding New Orleans dry, or is he elsewhere? Once I get vervain in my system, I'm ready to go find him. I'm not waiting very long to see what happens next with him. Been there. Done that. I was him before I ever even met you. A dear friend helped me turn it back on."/p
p class="MsoNormal"span style="mso-tab-count: 1;" /span"I figured you would be," Freya replied to her saying she'd be ready once she had vervain in her system. Then she handed her a shot glass of Bourbon. "It's already ready for you. Remember. I learned your tricks a long time ago."/p
p class="MsoNormal"span style="mso-tab-count: 1;" /spanKat gave a smile, before starting to drink the shot glass of Bourbon that Freya had already put vervain in for her./p
