An ominous evening breeze swept over the hill as the moon rolled into the night sky. Beneath the shadow of a large rock, the evil Vampireling known as Violet Vamp held a crystal ball as she studied the many different Inklings and Octolings.

Violet Vamp licked her lips, eager to bite and infect a fresh squid on such an evening as this.

"Oooh, so many souls and so little time." The sinister being cackled, "How there are so many I can sink my fangs into? But where to start and who to choose, that is quite the challenge, especially as there are so many that I bit into already that I can see. But tonight is the night for a bite, it's only a matter of time until... wait."

An image appeared in the crystal ball, a tan Inkling boy with green hair in a sweater. Violet Vamp giggled with glee, studying this lad further. He didn't look like someone she'd already bitten and infected, perhaps he tasted quite well.

"My first victim of the evening. Let him become a vampire-zombie and, apparently, this Alex has fire powers. Oh, soon, people will be running in fear of the vampire-zombie Inkling who wields fire."

Violet Vamp rubbed her hands together and waved a hand over the ball, allowing it to show her where the Inkling named Alex was located. She smiled with glee and laughed in a maniacal manner, then she dispelled the crystal ball and morphed into a bat, ready to take flight. The sinister Violet Vamp flew into the sky, heading off to sink her fangs into Alex 'Makerboy10'...

Somewhere outside of Inkopolis, Alex walked outside a hut with a towel on his shoulders and a smile upon his face. He stopped to breathe in the evening air, tonight was warm and it felt perfect, despite the chills that he felt in his nostrils.

Alex opened his green eyes, taking in the view of the Salty Star Springs. It was very inviting with the smooth rocks, tall palm trees, bright pink sunflowers, and the steaming water of the hot spring. He smiled happily, knowing that this felt like the perfect night to kick back and bathe in the steaming waters of the finest hot spring resort in Inkling history.

He walked onward, unaware that a bat had come in for landing in the trees. Alex walked closer towards the rocks and set down the towel, then he kicked off his shoes and unzipped his sweater.

The green-haired Inkling removed his shirt, revealing his lean body. Alex removed his pants, leaving him in his briefs. He walked past the rocks and stepped into the water, feeling the steam swirl around him while his skin adjusted to the temperature.

'Man, that feels so nice.' Alex thought.

Close behind him, the bat descended from the tree tops and its eyes gleamed. And then, in a puff of smoke, Violet Vamp assumed her true form. She eyed Alex from behind, licking her lips excitedly. The Vampireling floated above the ground and slowly glided towards the teenage squid, approaching him from behind.

Alex walked deeper into the hot spring, feeling the water was up to his thighs. The full moon gleamed above, casting a glow upon the steamy water and the smooth rocks around him. The palm tree swayed in the breeze and Alex closed his eyes, feeling the warmth.

Violet Vamp closed in, like a rouge phantom preparing to strike the living. She bared her fangs and moved closer towards Alex. The Inkling stopped walking and stared to the sky, regarding the beauty of the night.

That was when Violet Vamp made her move.

She grabbed his arms, leaned over, and bit into his shoulder. Alex's eyes widened, taken by surprise.

'What the...?'

He could feel the presence now. Violet Vamp retreated and Alex turned around, nursing his bitten shoulder. The green-haired Inkling's eyes widened and he stared at the Vampireling with surprise, Violet Vamp stared at him, wondering when her bite would take effect.

"You look like that vampire creature who gave Spider and his friends a ton of trouble." Alex commented, "I didn't know you were still alive... Ow." He rubbed his shoulder.

Violet Vamp's smile faltered.

'He wasn't affected.' She thought, 'Usually, my bite affects them, but how is he immune...?'

"You better get out of here!" Alex warned, the palm of his right hand began to glow with flames, "Otherwise, I'm gonna have to make these hot springs hotter, you crazy vampire Inkling-Octoling thing! I bet you're probably from another universe, especially since Violet Vamp was pretty much vanquished."

Violet Vamp studied Alex a little more. Then she shrugged, morphed into a bat, and flew off into the dark. Alex tempered his fire powers, and wiped some sweat from his forehead. And then, he sat down in the hot spring, letting the hot water soak into his body.

Alex sighed and threw some water over himself, ignoring the bite in his shoulder. Thankfully, there was no danger of him turning into a vampire zombie, especially since he was immune...
