To Ruby, Penny is the sun, bringing light and hope and happiness into her life. Her smile is warm and her laugh is infectious. She can always count on Penny to believe in her no matter what, to listen to her even when everyone else has given up. Penny is a shining example of optimism and faith, a reminder of all the good things that she's fighting to protect.
To Penny, Ruby is the moon, a comforting, warm, bright presence in the dark sky. Penny had never imagined that she could have a friend, let alone the many friends that she can count on now, until Ruby came into her life and lit up the darkness, showing her the beauty of the world around her and pointing out all the stars in the sky. When Penny wants to give up in the face of fear, she closes her eyes and pictures Ruby, imagines what her friend would do. Ruby always gives her the courage to keep fighting and trying no matter what.
