Hey everyone finally back with chapter two of Orsay Academy: White Sun I know it was a bit of a wait but I hope you guys enjoy chapter two it was one of my favorite chapters to write so far so I hope y'all like it.
Will's POV
It had been around six hours since our plane took off for Kalos, headed towards Orsay Academy. Flannery and I had slept for most of it, only waking up during the last few hours.
"Hey, Flannery, do you think we'll have the same homeroom? 'Cause they won't give us the schedule until we get there, and I'd rather not be in class with a bunch of randos I don't know."
"How should I know? Also, you can't call people randos when every person is random to you. Your only friends are Broly and me".
"True," I said. I needed to get out there and make a few friends. Lavaridge has nothing but old folks and tourists. I never really had the opportunity to make any other friends.
"That's what I'm saying, dude. Just introduce yourself to someone and say, 'Hey, we're friends now.' It's that simple. I would know. I have at least one friend."
I chuckled, but in doing so, something caught my eye. Looking out the window, I watched the plane pass a great mountain. I didn't know what I was seeing; it was a structure with large broken pillars and ancient-looking ruins. A triangle was carved into the center of the beige stone flooring. I went to tell Flannery to look for herself, but when I turned back, it seemed she had already passed out again. All she knows how to do is eat, train, and sleep. As the engines quietly buzzed in the gentle moonlight, I followed suit.
~~~~Time Skip~~~~
Third Person POV
The time was five thirty-two in the morning, and our duo had finally landed in the Kalos region. The two descended the plane stairs, stretching and yawning.
"Aw, man, ten and a half goddamn hours of sleep?! I've never slept that long. I guess that's what plane rides do to the body." said Flannery through teary-eyed yawns.
"I know what you mean. I don't think I'll be going to sleep for a good while."
"Same," she said as the two shambled to the baggage claim.
"I'm gonna call for a rental car, and we can skedaddle out of here. I'm not tryna be in this airport with all these guys coming to the academy." Around him, several eager adolescents were leaving their planes as well. A young man in a blue rain jacket stood atop the plane stairs, surveying the crowd, eyes stalking the competition. His eyes stayed on one bizarrely dressed individual. His hair was a forest-green mess, and his shirt was reminiscent of an Alolan tourist. Dismissing them, the two made their way to the taxi.
After about a thirty-minute drive, they finally reached the academy. To say the two were flabbergasted is an understatement; the academy was massive. One could see it from the airport about 20 miles away. It was a large red brick building with tons of windows and what appeared to be different sections separating the other classes and dorms. The academy's icon bore a Master Ball with a trident protruding from the top.
"Damn, this is a nice ass building," Will said, taking in the land on the way here. Orsay's impressive architecture had lain dormant in their minds until they had seen the academy. The sight put the magnitude of their journey into perspective for them.
"I'm getting hyped! What are we waiting for? All these other guys are going in; let's go!" she said, grabbing Will's arm and running inside.
As they entered the premises, the two's astonishment tripled. The floors were a pearlescent white, and they doubled as mirrors. The walls were simple white bricks with posters of school events and club sign-ups all over them. There were also signs for guidance on every corner, almost like roads. From the ceiling, there dangled large chandeliers in every hallway, reflecting onto the near crystalline floor. A secretary sat in the center of the entrance hall, filing notes and stuffing papers into manilla folders, as they tend to do.
"This place is luxurious, goddamn!" Will mumbled.
"Oh, hello there! Welcome to Orsay Academy. How can I help you?"
After confirming the paperwork and exchanging pleasantries, the conversation stumbled into uncomfortable territory. Mandatory. Four Roomate. Rooms. Co-ed.
"Ahh, what!?" Flannery yelled.
"There is a bright side! That is, you can choose your roommates. I mean, the two of you come from a rather small town, so it's doubtful that you know any other students, but you're free to bunk with each other."
At that, Flannery and Will looked at each other and knew without words that they would need to find two different people. The receptionist then explained where the two would need to go to set up their dorm, even giving them a pamphlet of the entire academy.
"Alright! I'm gonna find us a sick-ass dorm room. You find two other roommates," she said, sprinting toward the dormitories.
A brief dread welled within Will. Having to recruit others to live with you did not sound like an easy task. He thanked the receptionist and started to walk away when she shouted to him, "Oh, by the way, students are allowed to walk around with one Pokemon through the halls, so if you have one, go ahead and send it out for some fresh air."
"Awesome, thanks for the info," Will said as he reached to his belt and grabbed his partner's Pokeball.
Finally, out of his ball, Broly landed on the ground with a thud, but when he saw Will, he tried to get him to carry him like a baby. "How often do I have to tell you that you're a heavy boy? I can't hold you for more than a minute," he said, struggling to pick the Larvitar up.
After a brief embrace, they walked around the school, not looking for anything in particular. The two had made their way to what seemed like the arena area of the school. Each room was labeled B-1 to B-10. Being the curious duo they were, they entered one of the arenas. The arena was simple, just a field for battles, a vending machine in the corners, and a bathroom close to the entrance.
"Woah. Now this is something I can get behind." Will said, looking down at Broly. Broly looked up at Will, grinning with excitement.
Just as the two were considering training, a menacing feeling spread throughout the room, but none knew where it was coming from. Suddenly, a blur wooshed past the two as Will and Broly jumped back at the sudden presence. Again! Once more, a gust passed him.
"THAT'S IT!" he said as he shouted, "Broly use Tackle when they woosh by again!".
Just as the blur was about to fly by again, Broly used Tackle, sending whatever it was into the wall, dust flying everywhere. The two approached the dissipating dust cloud as they finally saw the cause of the ruckus. To their surprise, it was a boy around Will's age with short brown hair around the same height as Will, and he was bigger body-wise than Will, but not by much. Next to him was a tiny yellow Pokemon. It had insectoid qualities, but it also bore a fine fur-like coat.
"Ah, jeez, what the hell, man?" he said as he started to get up as the tiny yellow Pokemon climbed on his shoulder.
"Dude, what the fuck was that nonsense? Were you trying to hit me or something? How'd you even do that? There's no way that little thing was swinging you around like fucking Spiderman across the place."
"I wasn't trying to hit you. I was showing you the raw dominance of my insect Pokemon!" he said as he got face to face with Will.
"I don't even know you, and I don't care about your stupid ass bugs," Will said, bracing for a fight.
"Hmph," the mystery guy said as he looked down at Broly. "That thing is my problem; you think just cause your goofy ass rock type can beat my bugs, you're better than me."
"Dawg, I truly just don't care about your bugs," Will said, dumbfounded at just *how* much this guy liked bugs.
"You know what, that's it, you and I fight right here, right now. We're already in the arena, so I can beat your ass. I'm about to clap those booty cheeks," the other guy said.
"Pff, ok, buddy, we gonna battle that 5-inch menace on your shoulder?"
"Yeah, Joltik has been with me since birth. He's my partner, so let's get started. I gotta find roommates, so I need to finish this quick," the mystery boy said as Joltik hopped on the floor.
"Alright, let's do this!" they both said as they entered their starting positions.
Will's POV
I couldn't help but think, "What's up with this guy?"
"Whatever, I'll make this quick," I said as Broly entered the arena.
"Broly! Square Up!" I said as he got into his battle stance.
"It's time to bug out, Joltik! Let's do this," the other guy said as Joltik crouched, ready to pounce.
The battle had started, and neither side moved until the mystery boy told his Joltik, "Alright, Joltik, go use Agility and get close, then use Fury Cutter!" he said as Joltik zoomed faster than I could see. Broly dodged, but the Joltik was too fast and landed a forceful hit on Broly, making him slide back.
"Damn, I was hoping for a one-shot with that," he said as Joltik returned to him.
"Tch, it's gonna take more than that to knock us out now that I've seen how fast your Joltik is. We'll just have to go faster," I smirked.
"Faster?" he questioned, looking at me like I was crazy. "No chance!"
"Oh, we'll show you how now, Broly! Dragon Dance!" I said as he began to do a fierce dance, empowering himself. "Use Rock Throw!" I said as his tempered speed allowed him to get behind Joltik and slam his foot into the ground, launching a stone right under Joltik.
"No, Joltik, dodge!" he said as Joltik jumped away from the rock.
"Thanks for falling for that trap!" I said, as now Joltik was airborne and couldn't do anything. "Now use Smack Down!" I said as Broly jumped up and threw a rock above Joltik, smashing it into the ground.
"No, Joltik!" he said as he ran to check on his partner.
It was fun; the guy is not a lousy battler, just my rocks overpowered his bug.
I walked towards him as he returned his partner to his Pokeball and stood back up.
"Well, are you happy you won? You just proved to the world that bugs are shit," he said, looking at the ground, upset about the results of the battle.
"Nah, dude, I said, looking at him; that was a lot of fun. I was surprised to find out how fast your Joltik was. I would have lost if my Larivtar didn't know Dragon Dance." I looked up at him, smiling with my hand out.
"My name is Will Lee. Nice to meet you. Let's battle again sometime." He looked at me, confused. A smile of his own formed as he grabbed my hand for the shake.
"My name is Cody Jacobs. Let's do this again sometime, and it'll be with friendly intent. I'm sorry about that. I got lost in the bug mania. I just wanted to prove myself.``
"Don't worry about it, bro. You had your reasons. Can't blame you for defending what you love."
"Hey, didn't you say you were looking for roommates before?"
"Hm? Yeah, I came here alone, so I kinda don't have anyone to room with", Cody said, looking a little sad.
"Well, why don't you room with me and my other friend? "We'd only need one more person, and you seem like a cool guy to hang around with, so why not?"
Cody then looked at me seriously, "Sure." he said as he calmly accepted my offer. "Awesome," I said. "Well, let's get to that insta-healer over there. I think both of our Pokemon need some rest," I said as we walked over and healed our Pokemon, as a new friendship formed.
