"We did it," Ruby says, her voice a harsh whisper. She's exhausted from battle and definitely a bit worse for wear, but she's still alive and on her feet. "Salem is gone. Remnant is safe at last."
"It's hard to believe that she's really defeated," Penny murmurs. The battle had been so fierce and terrible; it's hard to believe that it could really have ended. "What do we do now?"
There's a long pause before Ruby replies. "I don't know," she admits, reaching over to hold Penny's hand. "But whatever we do, we'll do it together."
