Yo! What's up guys? Hope you are all doing well! I got another chapter for this story here! I know a lot of you are waiting for Shattering Lies to be updated, but I'm waiting on the next chapter of the Manga to drop before I start writing as I want more information as how the manga's ending will develop. So, with that you'll all have to wait, sorry.
Next thing is pairings for Naruto. I am leaning heavily on C.C. and maybe Nunnally. But someone brought up a good point and that's that people like Nunnally will make Naruto feel like more of a monster and that actually make me think of a good plot point lol.
Also, no, Naruto is going to have his Chakra restricted.
With that out of the way, enjoy.
"Who are you?" Naruto's voice was cold as steel but devoid of emotions and that terrified Lelouch. For the longest time, his father's voice is what terrified him. It was unwavering, firm, full of self-confidence, and carried an underlying threat. This day Lelouch's opinion changed. This…boy or whoever he was, was in a whole different league. His voice held no emotion, and he was sure that if he looked at his face, he'd see the same. This was the voice of a killer.
"M-My name is Lelouch Lamperouge and I –" Lelouch stopped as the blade dug deeper into his neck.
"Lie to me again, and you're going to be joining these people," Naruto warned him causing Lelouch's eyes to widen. Does he know? If so, how? He knew for sure that he had been careful! Whatever the cause may be, Lelouch knew that his life was at the mercy of this boy. So, gritting his teeth, he said his real name, a name only a few knew.
"My name, my REAL name is Lelouch Vi Britannia, former price of Britannia and its sworn enemy," Lelouch answered, his voice finally finding its authority as he said Britannian with as much venom as possible, something that Naruto took note of.
"Former?" He questioned further. He was in a new world, with little knowledge, with no allies, all potential enemies. His Root training had kicked in and he had sought questions by interrogations while staying hidden, but many of the soldiers he faced either did not know the language or what they did know was broken. And while the enemy commander did speak the same language, it was broken.
"I was exiled to Japan by my father, the Emperor of Britannia. Before he invaded the said nation and sought to kill me and my sister." Lelouch answered truthfully. It's funny how when someone held a blade to your neck you're willing to spill everything for your life.
"Why?" Naruto questioned. Lelouch gritted his teeth as the day of his mother's assassination flashed through his head, the memory repeating over and over again. His mother's body was riddled with bullet holes, his sister was left crippled and blind.
"Because…because he did nothing after my mother was brutally gunned down! In the Imperial Palace no less! And then he abandoned me and my sister and worse sought to have us killed during the war." He answered the rage in his voice barely contained. While Lelouch's simmered with rage, anger, and hatred, Naruto was thinking.
"He isn't a foe, but he isn't an ally either. I should kill him right here and now. However, he can be of use. I need information, more importantly, I need an ally." Naruto thought, his Tantō still at the older boy's neck.
"I want information, shelter, and other perversions." Naruto finally spoke as Lelouch thought over it.
"Aren't you with those terrorists?" Lelouch questioned. Why would a terrorist want all of that from him? Surly he had people that could provide him with that.
"No." Naruto's response was curt and to the point, much to Lelouch disappointment. He had hoped to get some information out of Clovis's killer.
"Then, why did you kill Clovis?" Lelouch questioned as Naruto looked slightly right at the now cold body of the dead prince. Why had he killed him?
"Because I know you're a good person, Naruto-kun." Her voice rang through his head, her blood-stained smile as she bled out in his arms.
"Because he was the enemy that ordered the massacre of innocents," Naruto responded as Lelouch's interest peeked at that. For the briefest moment, he heard the killer's tone change, it was…softer. Maybe, the two could come to an agreement.
"Let's make a deal." Lelouch started, but Naruto instantly got on guard.
"Go on." Root doctrine suggested that you gain the trust of your asset. Make them think that they have the power and once sufficient trust has been gained you either terminate the asset or keep them around for as long as you need.
"I think that both of us share a common enemy. Work with me and I'll provide you with whatever you want. Information, housing, supplies, whatever you require." Lelouch offered as Naruto thought to mull over that. He could instantly accept the offer, no, that'll show desperation. This Lelouch would become his first asset and once he was of no use, he'd terminate him. With his mind made up, he leaned a bit closer to Lelouch's ear.
"Cross me and they won't even find your ashes." He warned him as he slowly withdrew his Tantō. Lelouch released a sigh of relief as he brought a hand up and massaged his neck. He slowly turned around to face the killer of Clovis. He cursed internally as he saw that the killer's mask had no eye holes, there was no way to use his Geass, he needed a direct line of sight.
"You're a kid?" Lelouch questioned. The boy was a bit shorter than him; his clothes were in tatters. The only distinguishing feature he could see was the blond hair.
"What of it?" Naruto questioned stoically as Lelouch almost flinched at the coldness of his tone.
"Just an observation," Lelouch stated as he turned his attention to one of the command modules and walked over to it. He couldn't see the kid's eyes, but he was sure that he was watching his every move.
"What are you doing?" Naruto questioned as Lelouch pulled one of the dead bodies over, holding back his lunch as the dead body made an impact with the ground, kicking up some blood that had begun to now pool the entire command floor.
"I wiping all the video footage, data logs, and all other information," Lelouch answered. Lying would do him no good if someone could tell that he was lying.
"Is he related to that girl?" His thoughts shifted to the green-haired girl that had given him this Geass power. He'd have to get to the bottom of that. Naruto meanwhile said nothing, he hadn't taken such possibilities into consideration, because he didn't even know if that was even possible.
"Making him an asset was the right call." He thought as he walked over to one of the dead and pulled out a piece of paper, an exploding tag. Lelouch glanced back and saw that boy walking over to the many dead that littered the command floor.
"What are you doing?" Lelouch questioned him, curious.
"Booby trapping the bodies," Naruto answered, letting a few bits of information, and answering assets questions was a good way to gain trust.
"Is that really necessary? They are dead." Lelouch questioned him, slightly disgusted by the thought of desecrating the dead like that.
"Dead bodies can hold vital information," Naruto responded, he'd say no more on the subject. Lelouch raised an eyebrow at that but thought it was best to leave it at that. He quickly entered the final commands, purging the database of everything. He stood up and turned to see that the boy was finished doing what he was doing.
"Can't you at least tell me your name?" Lelouch questioned as Naruto stiffened. His name. For the longest of times, he had no name thanks to his memory being suppressed. Only a code name; Foxhound. He wouldn't give his real name, and he had no love for the code name Foxhound. He thought over what he wanted his codename to be. And then a memory began to play in his head.
"I like your name, Hinata-chan! It means Sunflower, right?!" He asked excitedly at his new friend as she blushed slightly at the way he referred to her.
"Y-Yes." She answered as she played with her index fingers, looking down at them and not being able to look up at him. Naruto chuckled as he brought his hands back up to his head and leaned back onto the tree.
"B-But I like your n-name more N-Naruto-Kun." She stated as Naruto looked at her and blinked.
"Why?" He questioned her as she smiled slightly.
"B-Because it m-means maelstrom." She answered as Naruto looked at her in slight surprise before he began to laugh and pulled her into a surprise hug.
"Thank you Hinata-Chan, but your name is way better! Sunflower!" He exclaimed as she blushed at that and fainted.
"Sunflower…" He spoke, his voice soft, tender as he recalled that memory. That's what her name meant. A sunflower that faced the sun. To him, that was what she was. A strong sunflower that withstood adversity, always waiting for the sun to shine upon her.
"What?" Lelouch questioned. Did he hear that right? Sunflower? Was that his name? A codename? Naruto nodded slightly.
"You can call me Sunflower." He said with finality. He wanted to remember her. Her eyes were a reminder of his failure to protect her, to save her and he'd always hate himself for that. But he wanted to remember her forever, her memory.
"A codename?" Lelouch questioned but Naruto didn't respond. The older boy frowned at that. Getting information out of his new ally was like getting a stone to bleed. He was tight-lipped, but what he could tell was that Sunflower was a trained assassin.
"Let's go before more arrive," Lelouch said as Naruto nodded and began to follow the older boy.
"Remember Lelouch, crossing me won't end well for you." Naruto left the threat hanging and Lelouch understood that well, not because he didn't believe him, no, he saw the countless dead all around him and all had their throats slit with precision. It was the way he carried himself. No wasted movement, booby-trapping the bodies, going straight for the enemy commander?
"Sunflower is clearly more clever than he lets on." Lelouch deduced. Analyzing people and digging up information about them was something he prided himself in, but Sunflower was an unknown. No face, no name, an assassin that killed without remorse. He was young too, younger than him.
"A child soldier. He has no love for Britannia. Chinese maybe? E.U.?" Lelouch's mind was working overtime to deduce the origins of this mystery assassin.
"Understood, Sunflower." Lelouch finally responded. Aside from having his plan foiled by questioning his half-brother and having a deal with a child assassin and almost dying by the said assassin, his day went rather well.
An hour later:
Lelouch led his new ally through the ruined city. Slipping out and through the Britannian forces was easy. They were in disarray, scattered all over the city, and were now pulling back per Clovis's final order before his throat was slit.
*Boom!*
Lelouch stopped and looked back as a set of massive explosions rippled through the G1 Command Unit they had left. He didn't know how Sunflower did, but those pieces of paper were more than just paper.
"Some sort of compact explosives?" He thought as he watched the rising column of black smoke and shook his head.
"You disapprove?" Naruto questioned as he quietly stood behind him. Lelouch narrowed his eyes and turned around and began to walk again.
"You didn't need to use explosives. Wouldn't leaving the bodies sent a better message?" Lelouch tried to probe into the assassin's logic.
"The bodies were merely used to attract as many of the enemy soldiers as possible. Once sufficient enemy forces gathered, the explosives automatically detonated. From the twenty dead, I managed to kill at least sixty more. I'm sure many of them were officers." Naruto explained casually as if killing a hundred people was business as usual.
"How can you kill so willingly?" Lelouch questioned. He had seen death and he gagged at the thought of actually killing someone. He was sure that he could do it, but could he stomach it?
"A heart of steel. It is what I was trained to do." Naruto responded; his voice devoid of emotions. The killing was a natural part of a Shinobi's life. Lelouch didn't show it, but he was appalled and horrified by that answer.
"Sunflower…how old are you?" Lelouch questioned, surly asking that wouldn't be asking too much.
"Thirteen," Naruto responded curtly, seeing no harm in answering that question. Lelouch's eyes widened at that. He was only a year younger than his little sister.
"And the way he acts…he's killed before. Killing doesn't phase him at all and he treats it as if it's normal. Just what kind of training did he go through?" Lelouch thought to himself. The mere thought of training children so young to kill…even Britannia wasn't so cruel, according to his knowledge.
"I see…" Lelouch spoke as the two walked in silence.
"You didn't have to kill him." He spoke up as Naruto kept following him.
"He was an enemy commander." Naruto countered.
"I wanted information out of him." Lelouch pointed out. He wanted to use his powers on Clovis to find out his mother's killers.
"I do not care." Once again the answer he received was curt and to the point. Lelouch frowned but withheld his tongue. No point in getting sour over spilled milk. The two neared the city limit of the old, ruined city, with the new city coming into view. Lelouch at that point had begun to discard the soldier's uniform and store it in a case.
"You might want to change clothes. You'll stand out too much." Lelouch pointed out, but Naruto shook his head.
"I'll follow you from the shadows," Naruto spoke as Lelouch raised an eyebrow and looked back, but the assassin was gone. He looked around himself and did not find the assassin. Schooling his features, he began to walk back to school.
"I better be careful around that one." Lelouch thought to himself. He couldn't trust Sunflower, but he could work with him for the time being.
A few Hours Later:
Naruto didn't know what to think. He went from the ruined city to a new city that seemed to be teeming with people. It was a new experience for him. Having lived for so long underground in a small cell for most of his life, the life he would remember, this was new. He felt so out of place. The city had vibrant colors, people were going about their days while he was stuck in the shadows, following his asset.
"He'll definitely be useful…" Naruto thought to himself. He needed as much information as he could get his hand on, to learn the language, history, etc. And once Lelouch had outlived his usefulness to him, he'd tie up all loose ends.
"But what then?" He thought to himself. He was a tool, a weapon. Training to be emotionless, no desires or goals. What did he want to do after this? He was free now…
"I feel lost, Hinata…please…tell me what to do…"He said to himself. She knew what to do, after all, they never broke her. Even in the end she refused to break and obey.
"Live…Naruto-kun…" He remembered her words. Live. She wanted him to live. But what did that mean? What did it mean to live? Even before he was brought into the Foundation, into Root, he wasn't living. Everyone but her hated him, despised him. Before his cell underground he called a small run-down apartment his home.
"I will live…for you…." He whispered as he ran his fingers across his mask where his eyes were, where her eyes were. Brining his hand back down, he focused back on his asset and saw him make his way to a large compound, a very large compound. It was walled, had several buildings, open fields. He wasn't sure what this place was, but he noticed that all the other people also wore the same uniform as Lelouch did.
"Soldiers in training?" He thought to himself as relocated himself.
Several hours later:
Night had set in as Naruto stood atop of the buildings. Apparently, this place was called a school where children attended to gain education. He had first assumed that this was a training facility, much like how the Foundation had its own programs for training Root operatives and agents.
"They are attending for education…" He thought to himself. He was left perplexed at that. What more education did they need other knowing how to kill? He didn't understand. He couldn't wrap his brain around this concept. But they all appeared to be happy. Going about their day, doing whatever it was they were doing.
"O-Of all the places you have to go, why the roof, Sunflower?" Naruto didn't bother to look back as Lelouch came up to the roof, huffing at having to run up onto the roof.
"How did you make that man answer your question?" Naruto questioned him without turning around. Lelouch raised an eyebrow at that. What?
"I…don't follow?" Lelouch responded. This time Naruto did turn around and before Lelouch knew it a blade, a Kunai, shot past him and he heard a thud behind him. Slowly turning around his eyes widened. It was that girl! The one who gave him his powers! Lodged in her head was the blade that Naruto threw as her blood pooled around her.
"How is this possible? I saw her die!" Lelouch mentally shouted to himself. He didn't notice when or how when Sunflower appeared before the body, but he wanted answers. He recoiled slightly at how casually a boy four years younger than him had to casually not only thrown a blade and killed someone, but also how he casually retrieved his blade.
"I might not understand the language." Naruto started, now that certainly got Lelouch's. So, Sunflower didn't know English? He could use that to his advantage.
"But I saw how you interacted with the man, that teacher I assume." Naruto continued as he stood up and wiped the blood off of his Kunai, but didn't store it away yet. Lelouch while externally was calm, internally his mind was racing. Did he know?
"When you first approached him, he was relaxed, but when you asked him whatever it was, his entire poster stiffened, his eyes glazed over and he answered your questions without break, hesitation or thought." Naruto continued as Lelouch gulped. Sunflower was FAR more observant then he thought him to be.
"And afterwards you asked the same question, I know. I might not know the language, but the words sounded the same. And yet that man laughed you off. So, how did you do that?" Naruto questioned, Kunai still in hand as Lelouch mulled over his response. The fact that he had kept the Kunai out meant that any wrong answer and he'd be dead.
"That's because he has Geass, the power of a king." Naruto's reaction was instant as he spun around, Kunai ready to lodge itself into the new comer's throat, but he stopped. No, not possible. He had sent a Kunai straight into her head, her brain. She should be dead.
"How?" Naruto questioned simply as he jumped back slightly.
"Create distance, observer the unknown enemy." He thought mentally as his Root training screamed at him to follow the doctrine. The girl he had just killed, was smiling at him as her wound sealed shut, but the blood still remained on her head and her white clothing. Her green hair also was now covered in her own blood. Her golden eyes looked at him with amusement
"I'd say that's the second time I have been 'killed' today." She let out with a light chuckle as Naruto narrowed his eyes.
"Are you implying that you have been killed before?" He questioned her as she slowly walked over to him. He stiffened as he raised his Kunai, ready to strike again.
"You could say that. But to answer your question, Lelouch has the power of Geass, of a king. People do as they are commanded when they gaze into his eyes." She explained as Lelouch narrowed his eyes.
"How did she know my name? Better yet, how did she find me?" He questioned himself. He had quickly learned the general abilities of his power. He could make someone do whatever he wanted, but it was a one-time use, and he needed direct line of sight.
"Genjutsu?" Naruto questioned bluntly. If that was Genjutsu, then why did he not sense any Chakra?
"Illusionary techniques?" Both Lelouch and the girl thought at that.
"There is no illusion, it's all real." The girl replied as Naruto said nothing causing the girl to look at Lelouch and smirked.
"You have an interesting friend." The girl commented as Naruto stiffened at that word. Friend. No, he had no friends and he'd never want any. Not after what he did. He didn't deserve friends.
"We are not friends." Naruto spoke up, but his tone was different, it was almost regretful. The girl shrugged her shoulders at that. Lelouch at that moment decided to finally speak up.
"And just who are you? What did Clovis want from you?" Lelouch questioned as she raised an eyebrow. His pointed look and authoritative voice were certainly a feature of his parents.
"Who am I? Hmm, well, I guess you can call me C.C. A s you why Clovis wanted from me? Hmm, well, that's for me to know." She answered as Lelouch gritted his teeth in annoyance. Great, another person that preferred code names and withheld information. Naruto said nothing, his Kunai still in hand. Either she had an extremely advanced form of regeneration or…
"Immortality." He spoke as C.C. blinked and looked at him in slight surprise. That was the quickest anyone figured that out. Lelouch's eyes widened at that. Did he hear that right?
"My Kunai went through your skull and into your Frontal Lobe. You shouldn't be thinking, speaking, moving or have any memory. And your skull would be cracked from the impact. Either you have a highly advanced regenerative ability or your immortal." Naruto stated flatly. Immortality wasn't a new concept to him. Many targets that the Root had been hunting were seeking that, especially the Snake of Konoha.
"My, aren't you educated on human biology?" C.C. stated with a smirk. Naruto kept his guard up at that. While he didn't sense any ill intent from her, something about her told him to be cautious. That feeling increased when she began to slowly walk over to him.
"I was trained to kill, to kill in the most efficient way." He responded coldly as C.C. stopped right in-front of him as she slightly looked down. He was clearly shorter then her, thought she assumed that was because he was still young.
"How interesting. Tell me, would you too like the power of Geass?" She questioned as she brought her hand up and reached for his mask slowly, but Naruto would NOT allow her to touch it. He quickly brought up his hand and grabbed her wrist.
"No." Was his curt response as C.C. raised an eyebrow. She never had someone in the past ever refuse the power she offered. While Geass manifested differently for each person, it was still a power that people jumped at once they learned of it. Lelouch himself was wondering why Sunflower would not want such power.
"Why? You'd be a king amongst mortal men. A different life, a different providence. You could have power such as the world has never seen. As you have already seen with Lelouch's eyes" C.C. tried to entice him, that always worked, but Naruto's grip tightened at that.
"I will not let you desecrate her eyes." He responded, and this time he responded with anger. The mere thought of desecrating her eyes unleashed a torrent of emotions inside of him, with the biggest one being anger. Her eyes were the one of two things he had left as a reminder of her.
"Her eyes?" C.C. questioned in confusion before Naruto realized what he had blurted out and let go of her hand before he vanished from their sights leaving the two on the roof.
"I have never known anyone to refuse the power of Geass." C.C. thought to herself outload while Lelouch raised an eyebrow.
"And just what is the power of Geass?" He questioned her. While he had experimented with his power, he still didn't fully understand it. He reasoned the best way to do so would be to ask the source of it. C.C. in return gave him a coy smile.
"Nice try." She answered before she turned to leave.
"That boy with the mask, what did Lelouch call him? Sunflower. He is interesting, very interesting." She thought to herself as a grin slowly formed on her face. She had never run into someone as interesting as him and she had lived for hundreds of years.
"Maybe you can make my wish come true…" She trailed off. He hadn't hesitated to lodge a kunai into her skull, he aimed to kill. Maybe someone like that could do it, someone like that could make her wish, her dream, turn into a reality.
And that's it for now. So, we got an immortal witch, a vengeance exiled princess and a mentally scared Root Nin from across realities. Sounds like the start to a bad joke lol. But now they have all met. How will Naruto deal being in this new and strange world he cannot comprehend? What will C.C. do to get Naruto to take on a Geass? And how will Lelouch now act going forward after having the contrast of a cold killer that is Naruto to himself? Find out more next chapter!
