So, this is going to be a really interesting story. I wanted to make a Mortal Kombat fanfic for a while, I am just a casual fan from the game, I didn't know much of the lore, but I know who the characters are and I know how they fight.

The story will involve around the game Mortal Kombat 2009, because it works kind like a reboot of the franchise. I hope you all enjoy this.

The world of pirates is a chaotic one, however it's seen the glimpse of peace from time to time. However, this could change.

In a area far away from the eyes of the World Government corpse were piled up. All of them were all broken in half, with guts and organs being splattered all over the floor. People that were killed in the most brutal way possible.

Among them is a crew that decided to join in the tournament. They were all turned into skull and bones, the only thing being left was a Straw Hat that was pretty much burning up.

The only ones still standing were two man, one called Shao Kahn and another one called Raine. At the moment Shao Kang was pretty much torturing Raiden, waiting for answers.

''Where are the elder Gods, Raiden?" Asked Shao Kahn all serious.

The man with a skull mask laughs as he grabs the fallen God.

''Their pathetic Mortal Kombat shackles me no longer.'' Said Shao Kahn with a smirk.

Raiden was now pretty much bleeding all over his face, he could barely see or breath. He was very close to death, and he didn't know what to do while Shao Kahn prepared his hammer.

''My venom spreads. It is the end of all things. Armageddon.'' Said Shao Kahn.

''STOP!'' Scream Raiden.

''It is done.'' Said Shao Kahn all calm.

The mad man tossed Raiden aside as he prepares the ritual.

''Their time of reign is over, it´s now my turn. Soon the world will know my name and I will be the ruler of all living things.'' Said Shao Kahn.

Raiden then looked at his broken amulet as he started to make a prty to the gods.

''Yes, prey to the worms Raiden.'' Said Shao Kahn

The mad man was preparing the finishing move to kill Raiden, however the God of thunder had one thing left to say.

''HE MUST WIN!'' Said Raiden.

Shao Khan raised his hammer as he prepared to kill Raiden.

In the past

At the Straw Hat Ship

Luffy felt something odd, he waked up early than usual and was even sweating a little bit.

''Uh!'' Said him in shock.

The teen looked around confused, that never happened, and he didn't sense any danger nearby or something else.

''What was that?" Asked him.

He tried to go back to sleep, but unfortunately that wasn't working. He didn't felt like sleeping anymore and wanted to know what caused him to wake up.

''Man! Now i want to know what was that!'' Said Luffy.

Luffy soon went to the kitchen where he saw Sanji, Nami and Jinbei were already awakened.

''Oh Luffy-kun good morning.'' Said Jinbei drinking some coffee.

''Morning captain.'' Said Nami reading the newspaper.

''Morning Luffy.'' Said Sanji.

''Morning guys…oooh breakfast!' Said him all excited.

Luffy went to eat the breakfast being prepared, but Sanji was seeing this coming, so he kicked him right in the head.

The captain of the Straw Hats hit the ground and hard, pretty much feeling a ton of pain from that kick.

''Ouch!' Scream Luffy.

''I didn't say it was ready! Wait for when everyone is awake!" Scream Sanji.

''But I am hungry!'' Said Luffy.

''This is not the case, you already ate 3 days' worth of food yesterday. We need to think of others too.'' Said Sanji pissed.

''You´re a meanie.'' Said Luffy with a pout.

''And you´re a dumbass.'' Said Sanji.

Later

Once the crew had waken up they all had breakfast, it was a calm day at sea so they need it to see what they should do for the day.

''So we are having a calm day?" Asked Chopper.

''This require a good song; I think I will compose a new ones.'' Said Brook.

''Jinbei make sure the ship go straight! We are not stopping today.'' Said Nami.

''Right on!'' Scream Jinbei.

As the crew set on to have a calm day, they were glad that nothing serious was happening with the ship. No pirates, no marines, no monsters, no weird things, just a regular day. However, things turn into a weird once they saw how dark the sky was.

''Everyone! I think is going to rain.'' Said Jinbei seeing the sky.

''So dark and yet I don't sense any wind.'' Said Nami.

''I guess the clouds aren't very good today.'' Said Chopper.

''Oh my! Do you think it will be a hell storm in the future?" Asked Usopp scared.

''I don't know Usopp. Maybe, but we got to keep going if we want to stay on this safe route.'' Said Nami.

''Please! Let's go to an island and stay for the night.'' Said Usopp.

'Island where!?'' Asked Luffy.

''You stay out of this! I don't see any island. If things get worst, then we will go sleep for the night.'' Said Nami.

The crew kept sailing at full speed, Jinbei made sure that they weren't slacking anything and was making sure that nothing stood in their way. However, Zoro of all people saw something in the water, a bottle with something on it.

''Uh?" Asked him.

Zoro knew there has to be either a trap or something serious, who puts a message on the bottle in the New World? Something was up and he wanted to know.

''Hey Jinbei, slow down for a moment. I want to see something.'' Said Zoro.

''What is it?' Asked him.

''I think we have a message in a bottle right there.'' Said Zoro pointing at the ground.

The crew heard that and made sure that the Sunny slow down for a moment, they wanted to know if that was a true message in a bottle or something else.

Later

Jinbei jumped out of the ship and got the bottle. There was a message there and the crew read out loud.

''What does it say?" Asked Franky.

''If you´re reading this then you´re invited to participate into the greatest tournament in all of the New World, the Mortal Kombat Tournament. The winner will have all of their wishes turned into reality and you will have a chance to battle some of the strongest people in the entire world.'' Said Nami reading out loud.

The crew looked confused over that message; they didn't know what was this happening.

''Mortal Kombat?" Asked Luffy.

''What kind of tournament has a name like that?" Asked Usopp nervous.

''Keep reading.'' Said Zoro.

''Normally the tournament is only open to select people, but if you´re reading this and you will show up than you can qualify to participate. The opponent must be strong and brutal to keep up with the previous champions of the tournament.'' Said Nami.

The crew now felt a little bit scared, that sounded like a serious tournament. One that only one person would be left alive.

''A butral tournament.'' Said Usopp scared.

''Sounds like fun!'' Said Luffy.

''Awesome! This day was getting bored either way.'' Said Zoro.

''I agree, if there´s one thing that women love is winners of tournaments.'' Said Sanji

''Are you all crazy! This sound like some kind mess up fight! Who would be stupid to go for a tournament like that?" Asked Nami.

''It says here one of the prizes is 50 Kilos of pure gold.'' Said Jinbei reading the message.

''GOLD! Really!' Scream Nami.

'I guess this is all that it takes.'' Said Jinbei with a sweat drop.

Nami looked at that and if she was smart, they could take all the gold and escape before they could catch them.

''Ok guys, we will participate in this tournament.'' Said Nami.

''Really!'' Said Luffy excited.

''Well I am not the one fighting.'' Said Usopp.

''Oh yeah! This look fun!'' Scream Franky.

''I will do my best!'' Said Zoro.

''Me too.'' Said Sanji.

''I will be honored to fight for our crew.'' Said Brook.

Robin then saw the message; she looked a bit worried then she saw the symbol at the end of it. That little dragon mark.

''Uh?" Asked her.

''What is it Robin?" Asked Jinbei.

''I think I saw this symbol before.'' Said her.

''This dragon? Where?" Asked Jinbei.

''I don't know, I guess from a book that I read. I can't put my head around for the moment.'' Said her.

''Well, they must have some explanation of what this mean.'' Said him.

The crew kept looking at the message, wondering what they should do next.

''It says here that if it's a group, only one person can fight.'' Said Nami.

''Can I use my swords?" Asked Nami.

''No, swords aren't permitted.'' Said Nami.

''Shit.'' Said Zoro annoyed.

''Well I guess it's going to be you captain.'' Said Sanji looking at Luffy.

''Luffy! Make sure to win a lot of fights and know where the gold is!'' Said Nami super serious.

''Ok!'' Scream him.

The crew then saw the map coordinates on the letter and soon they were off.

''Let's set sail to this Mortal Kombat!"' Scream Luffy.

The Straw Hats pirates were off as they were ready to participate in a brutal battle.

In the island of Mortal Kombat.

The tournament wouldn't happen until a few days, those who wanted to fight were already there. One of them was the God Raiden and his disciple Lu Kang.

Raiden however felt some weird presence, almost like something was shaking him.

''What´s wrong Raiden?" Asked Lu Kang.

''Another God will take stage on Mortal Kombat.'' Said him.

''What! Its one of the Elder Gods?" Asked Lu Kang.

''No, I think…it's a small one.'' Said Raiden.

The God of thunder wonders which deity would be stupid enough to set foot into Mortal Kombat. He just hopes to stop Shao Kahn and making sure that Earth realm was safe.

So yes, we have our first chapter. I know in lore you have be chosen to protect Earth from Shao Kahn and company. However, in the movie, it felt that Raiden was like ´´this is what I have to work? Ok´´. Also yes, Luffy will be the Straw Hat fighting because he is the strongest of the bunch, so this will be good for the crew.

How should I incorporate the mortal Kombat characters in the One Piece world. Sonya Blade will be a Marine and so as Jax, this is all I am going to say. I am still wondering what I will do for the rest, I hope you all have a good day.
