After the Collector's celestial display, Camila took her back inside the Owl House, right up to her old room so she could get changed. She looked at herself in the mirror, waving her hands up and down over the unusual fabric. She didn't wear dresses very often, but she liked to put one on and feel pretty from time to time, and the demonic aesthetic this one was too cool to pass up. Luz didn't just feel pretty putting this on. She felt mature, like everything she'd been through had truly been worth it, and she felt every ounce of love and admiration poured into each stitch. Then, she felt Camila zip her up and place a tiara on her head, completing the look.
Her mother stepped away and looked at Luz with such delight. "Oh, te ves tan hermosa. Mi hija ya creció." Camila wiped her tears away while taking her daughter's hand. "If he could see you now, your papi would be so proud of you."
"Gracias mamá," said Luz, giving her mom a hug. "How long have you been planning this?"
"We put it all together while you were studying for finals. You've given so much of yourself to this magical place, that we wanted you to have something in return. You've earned this, mija, and you deserve it. Now, come on. We shouldn't keep our friends and family waiting."
The dress' bloom made it necessary for Luz to go down the stairs first, and when she reached the ground floor, she was greeted by none other than her girlfriend Amity. The cotton candy haired witch had changed out of her messy work clothes, and into a green suit and knee high boots. Both young women looked each other over, entranced by the other's appearance.
"Qué belleza," said Luz.
"Luz," Amity stared in awe, "you look absolutely gorgeous!"
The human blushed, "Thanks, I feel gorgeous. But you're just...yowza wowza. It seems like ages since I last saw you in green."
"Well, it's a special occasion," Amity grinned while closing the distance between them, "and a lovely lady such as yourself deserves an equally dashing escort." She took Luz's hand and kissed it. Camila stood in the stairway, smiling. The girls took notice and let the proud mother snap some pictures before Amity nodded to the door. "Luz de mi vida, your celebration awaits."
The couple walked out the door with applause from the partygoers, Camila following close behind.
"And now, we can really get this party started," Eda winked at Raine. The bard cleared made their way to the corner along with Derwin, Katya, Amber. Skara also pulled out her harp to join the band.
Raine counted them off, "One, two, three, four..." And the back yard of the Owl House was graced to the sound of their music. Amity didn't say a word. She simply looked at Luz and smiled. Luz in turn gave her a nod, and the couple joined hands and started into a dance. Many of the other partygoers started moving to the beat. Willow, in particular, stepped into the rhythm and pulled Hunter into her arms with a spin. The young man was flustered for a moment, but soon got into step. Gus conjured a spotlight with illusion magic and shown pointed it toward the guest of honor, still dancing with her girlfriend, lost in each other's eyes. As the music came to a crescendo, Luz leaned forward. Amity did the same and their lips met as the chorus swelled. Pulling away as the song died down, Luz placed her head on Amity's shoulder, smiling contently as she wrapped her arms around the witch. Amity hugged Luz in the same manner, and they slowly swayed until the music stopped, and was met with applause from the crowd. The party continued well into the night, and it was a night Luz Noceda would never forget.
