Stephanie's Point of View

I woke up slowly hating myself and dreading the day until I realized I wasn't alone. I went rigid and then relaxed when the scent of Bvlgari filled my nostrils. Strong arms curled around me and pulled me to him. I noticed the clock read 9:07 before I rolled over to look into the chocolate brown eyes of my dreams.

"What are you doing here?" I whispered.

"You're here. Where else would I be?" Ranger responded.

Ignoring the elephant in the room, I went with "It's well after your gym time. Aren't the guys worried about you?"

"I didn't want you to wake up alone. I need you to know that I will always be here whether you have a ring on that finger or not."

I diverted my eyes, but I could feel the tears developing. "I was scared. I shouldn't have run, but…"

"Babe. You know I'd never expect you to be a burg wife. I just want you, Stephanie. I want you to know I'm here for the long haul. I want the world to know I am yours and you are mine, but a ring isn't required."

"It was a beautiful ring," I replied. "Can I see it again?"

He studied me for a few seconds and scooted to pull the box from the pockets of his cargos. He handed the box to me, and I flipped open the lid. I stared at the ring. It wasn't overly extravagant which I appreciated. I smiled. He watched me with curious eyes.

"Yes", I said. "Yes."

He lowered his mouth to mine and we celebrated.
