PROULOG
He knew exactly why he came here. The world seemed small, it was understandable that it would when your gazing upon it from a very high building. For the first time ever since he came up here Alexander wondered:"will anyone be affected by my death.. or will they not care?"
CHAPTER 1
Alec woke up. It was a surprisingly very bright outside, it usually isnt, in the Institute of Mew York, which was usually clowded to the endless lenghts of the sky. "oh well" he thought to himself. He got up and made his way to the cafeteria, not minding anyone, througout the hallways. Alex! Someone called his name. He slowly turned only to realize it was Jace, his parabatai, running towards him like a bullet only to be, seconds later, be embraced in his hug. "Its too early for this" So he just, somehow, shoved him off of himself. Good morning to you too man he said as he saw Jace's features feature a smile.
So when are we planning on going patrolling? I was thinking like.. right now maybe? Jace uttered without a second thought. Ye sure, lemme just gear up and ill meet you downstairs ye? (All the shadowhunters rooms were upstairs since all the equipment had the highest priority) Alec was going to eat but he didnt feel hungry anyway so he just turned araund and left for the equipmemt room. There he geared as fast as possible to avoid unwanted attention or questions. When he was all ready he almost ran to the front door of the Institute when a familliar voice called out for him Alexander what a surprise to see you here so early? he quickly turned araund only to see the owner of the voice wasnt even in the Institute. "Again?" He just sighed and opened the door he was aiming for just to see Jace leaning on the churches wall lazingly. if you want i can go alone He said.
Jace's smile dissapeared as quickly as it showed signaling Alec to shut up. Let's go As he said that Jace started walking. They were mostly walking in silence when Jace thought abaut asking questions abaut ridicouls things and explained to Alec all the things he thought he should absolutly know. Alec just rolled his eyes, sighed to answer any question asked, when they heard a scream... A female mundane scream. They both ran to the source when Jace pulled out his seraph blade Alec realized hed left his bow and quiver at the NYI and panicked. Jace he whispered i forgot my bow and quiver he tried to say words as quietly as possible. Jace turned araund so quickly that he almost fell down he glared at Alec like he was a madman and all Alexander could do is shoot apologetic looks. But they didnt have to argue on simple things like this, they had a woman to save, so they ran araund the corner to maybe identify the demon and what they saw shocked them so much they froze in place. The demon had red eyes unlike any and his growls sounded thousands of miles away, his skin was smooth but in some places scaled like a fish. His teeth were sharp and there was thousands of them all over his body. Jace of course held his courage and charged against the demon, for the first time without Alecs support, who was incredibly nervous when the demon was swinging at Jace in hopes of slashing him with spikes they suspected were poisionus.
And then it all happend so quick, Jace jumped into the air only to be knocked out by the demon, Alec running to his parabatai and held him in his arms while the demon approached.
He grabbed Jace's seraph blade and stood up facing the demon, he wasnt as experienced as Jace but he knew enough abaut how to kill a demon. The demon prepared for battle with relaxing his muscles to release or shoot his spikes all over the premises which Alec was unaware of as he ran closer and closer to the demon. Alec felt a sudden urge to run at the demon and die, he's had these kind of urgent thoughts before but not this severe, they started ever since Jonathan was on the loose. The demon shot the spikes and Alec who couldnt have turned around even if he tried was hit by 13 spikes in total most of them landing on his torso. He fell to the ground in agony, the demons poison was the most painful thing he had ever experienced, but he pushed through the pain and stabbed the demon through the heart. He fell on the ground hitting his head hard.. in his final moment before slipping into uncosocios
