Author's Note: I thought I would write this as the alternative to the Epilogue cutscene where Edward meets his daughter and as an extension to Pirate Republic where Edward says he will find his and Mary's daughter to Kassandra. Also the cover photo for this story is the same one that Edward sketches in his pirate journal of Mary to give you a clearer idea.

7 years after the events of Black Flag, 1728 - London, England

"Father? What was my Mother like?" A young girl of around seven years of age asked Edward

Edward chuckled, stroking his daughter's cheeks. "She was brave and dangerous all at the same time. Also beautiful too"

Edward looked at young Jenny with her sandy blonde hair, tied up and braided. She was a far cry from Mary and had taken after him, but her features eyes and nose resembled that of Mary if you looked closely, even though the hair was different.

Jenny piped up, distracting Edward's train of thought. "What did she look like? Do I look like her?"

Edward smiling, seeing a mental image of Kidd and Mary winking at him. "She had black hair and brown eyes, so no. You took after me, but you are definitely hers. Let's just say we both did some things that led to you coming here"

Jenny nodded. Another question popped out from her mouth "How did you meet Mother?"

Edward chuckled at his daughter's curiosity. She was quite wise for her age, and certainly very curious. "I met her about a decade ago, . Thatch introduced me to her"

Jenny looked confused. "Who's Thatch?" she frowned

Edward laughed even harder at her confused and innocent expression. "Blackbeard. The Pirate. Didn't the governor teach you that?"

"No" Jenny frowned. "He says he hates pirates. Wish they never existed and that they were a menace."

Edward tutted rolling his eyes. "What do I pay them for eh? I should of known from my time with them that they would cut that part out"

Jenny gasped in surprise. "You were a pirate? Was Mother a pirate too?"

Edward nodded. "Aye she was. Me, her and Thatch along with another few were. She was part of Thatch's crew at first, then she joined mine. I even had a ship, she was called the Jackdaw, named after a bird"

"Cool. I want to be a pirate" Jenny mused

"No, Jenny. Being a pirate isn't as grand as you think. Trust me I've been there" Edward got up, tone changing

"Awwww" she pouted towards Edward.

Edward upon seeing his daughter's drooped down unhappy face, lowered his stern tone.

"I'm Sorry Jenny, but being a pirate is also what got your Mother killed. She thought she could get a better life for us, and me too. I was foolish to think that, and because of that. I live everyday in guilt thinking that if I wasn't so foolish she still may be here with us"

Jenny, feeling guilty, went up to Edward and wrapped her chubby little arms around her Father. Edward hugged and stroked her hair as they both embraced.

"I'm Sorry Father. I shouldn't of asked. I know talking about Mother upsets you"

"It's alright, Jenny. You deserve to know. Perhaps When I'm ready and when your a little bit older - I'll tell you more about her and our story. Until then, I have a little something for you" He said passing a battered journal to her

"Oh wow what is that?" Jenny asked pointing to the battered book with a skull and crossbones on the cover

"A book. I wrote it while I was at sea. It's got stories of my time and my adventures at sea as a pirate. I also drew a sketch of your Mother in there, so you can see what she looks like" Edward said smiling presenting the book to her

"Thank you, Father" She said as she enthusiastically grabbed it

Edward laughed "Your welcome. Consider it an early birthday present. Oh and go to the page where it says "Kidd" the drawing of your Mother should be there" he said before leaving

Jenny flicked through the yellow pages, going to a bookmarked page that had "Kidd" written on it in scrawled handwriting.

In a black and white sketch, was a drawing of a woman with a red bandana, black hair tucked behind a ponytail smiling and smirking. It was Mary in her Kidd attire.
