Never surprise a Winchester, considered Dean as he barely avoided getting brained by his brother.
"You," accused a startled Sam, awkwardly lowering his iron crowbar. "So, I'm guessing you saw the same news report?"
"Y-yes," said Dean cagily.
"I deliberately searched out a hunt to complete on my own, but since you're here, I suppose I could use your help," Sam offered grudgingly.
Dean nodded, gratefully recognizing it as 'Winchester code' for forgiveness, not mentioning his search had been strictly for Sam.
"But you need to follow my lead," Sam demanded.
"Sure," agreed Dean, crossing his fingers behind his back.
