Maze stretched out in bed, the linen wrapping around her as she reached out to the empty space beside her. Her head perked up, looking at the empty space where her wife once lay. The room they shared held only her and the sweet smell of pancakes radiated through their flat.

She stretched out her long legs, swinging them off the bed as she followed the smell into their kitchen where Eve stood, apron wrapped around her small waist and long dark hair pulled into a high ponytail. The kitchen was a mess, flour and cracked eggs lay across the countertop and Eve hummed to herself, flipping the frying pan in her hand.

'What are you doing?' Maze crossed her arms, a slight smile gracing her face. They never cooked themselves, almost always had takeout, she was surprised Eve even knew how to use a frying pan, let alone that they even owned one.

Eve whizzed around on her heels, her apron and face covered in flour as she wore a big grin on her face. 'I thought we'd have pancakes this morning! I found a recipe on the internet!'

Her positive energy was contagious, Maze smiled at her, walking up to her as she turned sliding the pancakes on a plate ready for serving. 'You know, it'd be even better if you were only wearing just the apron.' Maze purred in her ear, and she embraced Eve from behind.

'Oh, I bet it would be!' Eve turned within her embrace, wrapping her arms around Maze's neck. 'But today you'll have to put up with just the pancakes.' A sly smile on Eve's face as she broke the embrace, taking the pancakes to their small dining table. A slight sigh leaving Maze's mouth as she followed her to the table.

Eve clapped her hands, handing the syrup across the table to Maze who examined the pancake in front of her. 'Well, it looks edible, that's a start…' Maze shot Eve a sly smile, seeing the fake hurt in her expression.

'Try it!' Eve clasped her hands together, watching as Maze took a mouthful.

Maze smiled at her wife, 'It's a little sweet for my taste, but it'll do.'

Eve grinned at her, for Maze that was the highest compliment she could have expected.

They finished their pancakes, making plans for their day, Eve promised to continue her escapades with cooking, an uncertain glance from Maze wasn't going to put her off.

'Why don't we take some of these toppings to the bedroom and see how sweet it could really be?' Eve smiled as she stood, taking off her apron and grabbing the whipped cream as she headed out of the room.

'You don't have to ask me twice.' Maze followed behind her wife, she could get used to pancakes in the morning.
