I'll be damned, Norma mused.

The man she met in Portland turned out to be a cop and not just a cop, he's the Sheriff of White Pine Bay. Sometimes, she wanted to laugh with how the universe is treating her. It's not supposed to be an issue but after the whole Keith Summers thing, it is now.

Alex Romero.

She cannot wrap her head around it. After that night in Portland, he's been in her mind since. It's safe to say that he has ruined her for other guys because no one has ever treated her the way he did that night. Her entire being is craving for it to happen again but she cannot allow that to happen. He is the Sheriff and she…she just stabbed a man to death in her kitchen.

Thing is, it's a small town. She didn't expect to see him when she went out to buy some groceries. She had done her best to put Keith Summers behind her and Norman is doing his best as well but when she saw Alex's SUV, her heart pounded. How long would it take for him to connect her to a missing person?

God, she hopes that day will never come.

"Norma", she closed her eyes when she heard his voice. "Fancy seeing you here", Alex greeted.

His stance is stiff, face stoic, but there's something in his voice that sent shivers down her spine.

"Well…I am now a resident of White Pine Bay so I doubt this will be the last time you'll see me here", she deadpanned.

"Listen, I've been meaning to talk to you about something. Can we go somewhere else?" he asked.

At least, he is not inviting her to the station.

"Sure. I'll follow you with my car",

She didn't know where they're going but Alex stopped in the middle of the woods. She got out of her car and went to him next to his vehicle.

"What do you want to talk about that we have to drive out here?" she asked.

A lot of things went to her mind like how Keith boasted that he knew the cops in town. Could Alex be one of those cops?

She didn't expect him to cup her face and kissed her senseless though. Her back hit the side of his car as he took the air out of her lungs. God, help her. It's exactly how she remembers it. The man can definitely kiss and she can just get lost right there. She felt his hands on her arms, her waist, and then her ass. Norma just melted. When he pulled away, her body protested.

"Sorry…I just…god…I've been wanting to do that since I saw you again", he said.

His pupils are dilated with lust and she knows that hers are too. "Don't be sorry. I am not complaining",

Alex smiled before kissing her again. This time, she allowed her hands to do the wandering. She misses his body. She misses the way he took her, the gentleness, the care. She just misses him.

"As much as I want this, are you sure we're doing this out in the open?" she asked in between kisses.

He didn't respond but instead, he opened the back of his truck and Norma got the hint. They went inside and once the door is closed, she straddled his lap. His hands shot up straight onto her ass and knead. She can feel her hard member through his pants and she couldn't help but press herself against him.

"Fuck", she cursed out loud.

"Norma…"

"If you dare tell me we have to stop now, I am going to strangle you", she threatened.

She heard him chuckle before his hand disappeared underneath her dress. His fingers swept her underwear to the side and entered her swiftly. Norma moaned as he played her masterfully.

"Alex…"

He groaned against her neck before he helped her with unbuckling his belt and unzipping his pants. She's not a teenager anymore to make out and have sex inside a car but she found herself not caring anymore about it. She wants him. She needs him. She could care less about where they are.

Once she sunk down on him, she somehow felt complete. It's strange because she hardly knows the man. They spent one night in Portland and that's it. Their next meeting involved her lying her way through her teeth to avoid being thrown to jail.

"I missed this…" he muttered before latching his mouth onto her breast.

"Oh yes…" she moaned and moved in earnest, chasing that release that she knows only he can give.

He let her set the pace while doing a great job pleasuring her. It's addicting. She just couldn't get enough. She rode him harder and it didn't take long for her to reach her peak and she crested.

"Alex!" she screamed as her release hit her hard.

She didn't even realize that he had followed her. They were both panting once they're done. The entire vehicle is filled with the scent of their joining. She stared at his face, he looked so satisfied and at the same time, there is something in his expression she couldn't decipher.

"You do know I own a motel with a lot of rooms, right?" he chuckled. "Next time you want a repeat, we can have more space to do this", she suggested.

He kissed her again.

"You are driving me crazy, Norma Bates", he admitted.

She could say the same thing. It's like he is fire and she's a moth being drawn to him. She's so attracted to him that she's literally risking her freedom just being with him right now. She's getting too close.

Suddenly, someone spoke through the radio and that is their cue to get going. He helped her get dressed and walked her back to her car.

"Norma",

"Yes, Alex?"

"I'd really like to see you again. I mean…somewhere not surrounded by trees", he said.

"I'd like that too", she replied before driving away.

She didn't realize that they will be seeing each other sooner than she thought. Alex showed up that night in her porch but this time, he's not Alex. He's Sheriff Romero.

"What can I do for you?" she asked, keeping her voice even.

He is with his deputy who has been eyeing her from head to toe. That made her want to squirm. Couldn't he be subtle?

"Mrs. Bates, we would like to ask you a few questions if you don't mind coming down with us to the station", Deputy Shelby said.

"Questions about?" she asked.

"…about Keith Summers. He has been missing for a week now and someone had seen him here talking to you", Alex answered.

Fuck…fuck, fuck, fuck!

"I don't know him really. He just came here, yelling about how he owns this place. He left after that", she said.

That's not a lie. That part really happened.

"…and you never saw him after that?" Deputy Shelby followed up.

Norma shook her head.

"No",

She caught the way Alex frowned at her.

"We would like to search your house", Alex then said.

Her body just acted on impulse and blocked his way before he could reach the door.

"I do mind that part. Don't you need some sort of warrant to do that, Sheriff? I don't know much about law enforcement but I know you can't enter someone's house based on a meaningless conversation on my front porch", she said.

Alex looked stunned while Deputy Shelby is definitely amused. Yes, she slept with the guy twice but she's not going to let him just order her around.

"You really should cooperate with me here, Mrs. Bates. You wouldn't want me on your bad side", he warned.

Was that a threat? Did he just threaten her after they had sex in his truck in the middle of the woods just a few hours ago?

"Sure", they stared at each other for a while. "Is there anything else I could help you with?" she asked.

"That would be all, Mrs. Bates. We would let you know if something come up", Deputy Shelby answered instead.

Alex kept on staring at her until they turned around and left. Norma went inside the house and exhaled in relief. She got a problem. If they start investigating her, it's only a matter of time before they find out she killed Keith. She could run but all of their money is tied up in the motel. Norman just started school. She couldn't just uproot him again.

The next day, Dylan arrived.

It changed the air in the house real quick. She has not seen her eldest son in two years and now, he's waltzing in her house like he owned the damn place.

"Why are you here, Dylan?" she asked once Norman left.

"…because I am your son and I lost my job and I got nowhere else to go. Why did you move here without telling me?" he asked her back.

Norma scoffed.

"Oh, I don't know, maybe because the last time we spoke to each other you told me to drop dead bitch", she spat.

There's an irony in there somewhere because she almost did die but she's not going to tell him that.

"Nice place you got here. How were you able to afford it? We barely have enough money to feed ourselves. I've been working since I can remember and now you bought a house and a motel", he asked.

She sighed.

"Sam's insurance. I used it to get this place. The house and the motel came in cheap at the bank so I bought it", she answered.

Dylan chuckled while shaking his head.

"Was it all planned from the start or did you just come up with it? I wouldn't blame you. Sam's an ass",

"What are you insinuating?" she asked, not liking his tone.

Dylan shrugged.

"Nothing. It's just so convenient. That's all. Sam dying and you getting the money to buy all of this", he answered.

Flashes of how her husband died came to mind and she fought the urge to cringe.

"No, it wasn't planned but feel free to think what you want about me. Nothing ever stopped you before", she muttered before walking away.

Alex showed up again inside the motel office that afternoon. This time, he's alone. He went in and locked the door behind him. That scared her because she doesn't know what's going on in his head.

"Alex, what are you doing?" she asked.

"Why did you lie to me?" he asked her back.

"I don't know what you're talking about—"

"Norma, stop. I know you've seen Keith again after he came to your porch. His truck has been found just a few meters away from here. You better start talking now, Norma", he cut her off.

His truck? Fuck! She didn't think about whether he brought a car with him that night. How can she be so stupid?!

"I know nothing about a truck", she lied and it's obvious that he knows it too.

Alex sighed.

"Norma, I can't help you if you won't be honest with me. What do you know about Keith Summers' disappearance?" he asked again.

The urge to lie is there. She wanted to lie but for some reason, he can read her like a book. He knows when she is not telling the truth. She just couldn't hide. He did say he wants to help her, right? Could he?

"He's dead. Keith Summers is dead", she confessed.
