Chapter 1: Lost in a New World

Alex Mercer, a man dressed in a black hoodie, white shirt, and denim jeans, not only survived the infection in New York but also became the embodiment of the Blacklight Virus—a destructive force. His journey was filled with countless battles as he tried to uncover the truth about his past, waking up one day with no memories.

His recollections were a chaotic blur of an explosion and excruciating pain surging through his veins. Miraculously, Alex woke up unscathed, only to recall the events leading up to this moment—the Supreme Hunter, The Reagan, and General Randall's desperate attempt to unleash a nuclear strike on New York to eradicate the infection.

As Alex surveyed his surroundings, all he saw was a vast expanse of pure white—snow. How did he end up in this wintry landscape? He pondered this question since New York never experienced such weather. Rising to his feet, he stretched his tired limbs and voiced his frustration to the desolate landscape, "Where am I? I was in New York, but how did I end up here?"

To clear his mind, Alex began a vigorous run, covering miles until he stumbled upon a gateway. Relief washed over him at the sight of this hint of civilization. However, as he approached the gate, a boomerang swiftly wrapped around his neck, and he found himself confronted by a boy wearing blue garments with war paint on his face. Curious yet cautious, the boy demanded, "Who are you, and what brings you here?" Alex replied, his voice tinged with weariness, "I was merely wandering, searching for someone who could shed light on my current location. By the way, what's your name?" The boy retorted, "I am Sokka, from the Southern Water Tribe. And as for your whereabouts, you find yourself at the Southern Pole."

Though Alex concealed his astonishment, his mind raced to comprehend the inexplicable. How did he traverse such vast distances in such a short span of time? Lost in his contemplation, he remained deep in thought while Sokka attempted to elicit a response. Suddenly, a young girl with whimsical hair loops, dressed in the same blue robes as Sokka, and possessing striking blue diamond eyes materialized before them, accompanied by a young, bald boy with arrow tattoos all over his body and a robe. The girl asked, "Hey Sokka, who is he?" Sokka replied, "Yeah, actually, I never got your name. Who are you?" Mercer replied, "I'm Alex Mercer. And what are your names, aside from Sokka?" "Weird name," thought Sokka. "Well, the girl over there is my sister, Katara, and the boy with the arrow tattoos is Aang." Aang asked in an overly cheerful voice, "Will you go penguin-sledding with me?" Alex Mercer's face cringed as he asked, "What is penguin-sledding?" Aang winced slightly, realizing he swore. Unbeknownst to any of them, a metal ship bearing the flag of fire with a red background was sailing toward the Southern Pole and their settlement. The ship's door opened, revealing a man with a scar on his left eye and a portly man with a knot on the top of his head. The old man asked, "Prince Zuko, where are we going?" Zuko replied, "Uncle, I have instructed my men to go to the Southern Water Tribe. I have finally found the Avatar."
