Day 2
It was early morning, people started going to work in Kalos. At a specific builders-for-hire store, the chief just arrived and was preparing to set up, but suddenly, he noticed that a man with a cloak was standing outside, he had strong guards around him. He pulled his hood down, revealing to the chief that it was none other than Ethan. The chief recognizes the ex-king and started speaking, "Sir, what brings you here?"
"I need your help to build a device as fast as possible." Ethan spoke with an emotionless face. "Well last night, I believe your brother has gone through the crowning tradition, that must mean you have given up your throne. No offence but, do you have access to gold?" The chief asked with an eyebrow raised."Please, I abdicated, but that doesn't mean my hidden gold storage around the region disappeared." He took out a precious gold bar with the length of a scroll from his pocket. The chief smiled as heslapped his head, showing that he was dumbfounded.
"So, what is so urgent to be built?" The chief asked as a question in general. "I am sure you have heard about the war, I need a weapon that could end it. At maximum, one week limit." One of the guards handed the chief a scroll, it was the blueprint for the weapon. The chief scanned through the blueprint and his face changed drastically. "This is hazardous! It has the potential to destroy Kalos as a whole, not to mention the recoil caused when blasted! And the energy container for the shot... It is unknown isn't it?"
"I know you have questions... The energy is from Xerneas, the Pokemon of life itself. While I was still the king, we captured it in its resting form. Some scientists thought the energy was worth looking into. As for the recoil... I can handle it." Ethan looked down at Floette's box. "What about its consequences? I don't wanna die!." "Rest assured, Kalos will not be affected." Knowing that the chief himself won't be affected, he seemed to be convinced to build the weapon. He left out a sigh.
"So you were saying, one-week maximum? It would be too less for a weapon as large as that!" The chief pointed out. "Fear not, you and your workers aren't the only ones in this. I have contacted tons of building agencies both in the region and out of it. I believe with the billions of gold in total on the line, it would be possible. You are one of the last I have and am going to ask." The chief's eyes enlarged as soon as he heard the word "billions". He let out a greedy-looking smile onto his face in the middle of the conversation.
The chief still had one question he was desperate to ask in mind. "Don't mind me asking, but what is with this urgency? If you expand the time limit, it could be half, even a quarter of what you are offering!" Ethan responded as if he was a hero in the shadows, "I believe using my life savings is worth using onto rescuing the lives of Kalos, even if it means casualties of another region are needed." With that curiosity fulfilled, the chief rushed out of the shop and roamed the street to find all the workers he knew and told them all about Ethan's offer.
Ethan took out Floette's box and whispered, "Wait for me, my friend."
