Chapter 3: Explanations - The Expedition to the Northern Water Tribe

Alex had a lengthy explanation to share with everyone who had witnessed his actions: Katara, Aang, Sokka, and the others. Their faces showed a mix of fear and shock as they tried to comprehend what had just transpired. In that moment, Alex recalled the danger he had faced when he was held at knifepoint. Swiftly, he retaliated by elbowing the man in the stomach and flipping him over. As he looked at the man, a spark of recognition ignited within him—it was Hakoda, the father of Katara and Sokka.

Now on his feet, Hakoda regarded Alex with a threatening gaze. Alex responded with a smile that gradually morphed into manic laughter. He fell to the ground, rolling with tears streaming down his face. After regaining his composure, he stood up, wearing a casual expression and maintaining a smile. But then, his countenance abruptly changed, conveying an intense message: "I will inflict unspeakable horrors upon you, making heaven or hell seem like the kindest places." Sensing the threat, Hakoda retreated.

Alex shifted his gaze to Katara, dropping his face into a deadpan expression. "I suppose I owe all of you an explanation, right? Well, let's find a place to sit because this is going to be a lengthy journey." With the tension dissipated, everyone looked at him expectantly. He proceeded to recount his story—from waking up in a morgue to being pursued by almost everyone, except his sister who provided crucial intel for his missions. Most importantly, he revealed his true nature: a living embodiment of the Blacklight Virus, a deadly contagion for which no cure existed in this time period. Horrified, the trio and the others listened intently.

"I won't divulge any more details. You three," he pointed at Aang, Katara, and Sokka. "I heard about your plans to go to the Northern Water Tribe. I want in." The trio were shocked beyond belief. How did he come to know about their plans? Katara sighed, realizing there was no way he couldn't convince her. "Fine," she replied. "We'll get packing. You can talk to Granny in the meantime." Alex got up and asked for permission to join the trio, promising not to harm anyone. Kanna, the granny, pondered for a while before reaching a decision. "Alright," she said. "I'll let you go, but if anything happens to her, I'll beat you to kingdom come." Alex chuckled. "The law of the universe says that an angry mother is scarier than anything in the world." Kanna chuckled at his words. "You better go now and make this world a better place," she said. "Yeah, okay," replied Alex. They boarded the sky bison and took off into the skies. Alex screamed in exhilaration during takeoff.
