Tim Taylor walked out of the garage straight into the kitchen, having returned from taping a recent Tool Time episode. He finds his wife, Jill, sitting at the dining room table with a face that looked like she was about to cry.

"Hi, honey." Tim said.

"Hi." Jill replied miserably.

"What's the matter?" Tim asked her.

"I just found out that Karen has moved to California." Jill replied. "Not only that, work wants me to research an article about domestic violence."

"Karen Kelly moved to California?"

"Yesterday." Jill sighed. "I can't believe she didn't have the courtesy to say goodbye!"

"Don't beat yourself up about it, Jill." Tim reassured. "Remember when you gave me that pep talk about Stu Cutler?"

"I remember." Jill said.

"So, why did Karen leave Detroit?" Tim asked.

"She found a new boyfriend named Gary. He works in real estate in Sacramento." Jill replied.

"How long have they been dating?"

"About four months."

Tim was shocked. "Four months, and she's already made the move to Sacramento?"

Jill nodded her head.

"I still can't believe it myself." She said. "I mean, Karen's my best friend. She helped me get this job at Inside Detroit."

"I'm sorry, Jill." Tim said, before pulling his wife into a hug. "If it makes you feel any better, I had a bit of a bad day, too."

"Why, what's happened?" Jill asked him.

"Lisa's left Tool Time." Tim replied.

"Oh, no. Will you get a replacement?"

"We're looking into a few candidates to be the new Tool Girl, but there's two in the running – Heidi Keppert and Rachel Meyers."

Jill managed to smile.

"Well, I suppose I better get started on researching that article on domestic violence." Jill said, getting up from the chair. "My boss wants me to finish it by the end of the week."

"Oh, Jill?"

"Yeah?"

"I'm sure Karen will call you." Tim told her.

"Thanks, Tim." Jill said, smiling.
