It had been 12 days since Ash left Pallet, in that time he and his Pokémon spent it training hard, in the surroundings of the town, now that he knew all the movements of his Pokémon he dedicated a large part of the training to give his companions a basic mastery of their movements well this more in the case of Charmander meanwhile Gible sought to improve the domain he already had over his Movements, mastering a movement and knowing it were very different things, knowing them was the fact of being able to perform the attack while dominating them was based on the effectiveness with which that movement could be made, so until Charmander could perform a good part of his movements with some mastery they would not advance to Viridian.
This would take several days of training where Ash had established a schedule to maximize training without causing a noticeable build-up of tiredness, he was not a Pokémon breeder but so much time helping in the professor's lab and training with Gible had given him an idea of how much he could push a Pokémon before it became overloaded good Charmander and Gible had dragon blood in them so it was a bit more Easy for him to make them train to exhaustion although he had to be careful not to permanently damage the development of his fire-type initial because he was still relatively young, luckily the initials grew fast.
He had set his schedule on the first day and had been following it without fail.
His schedule is based on waking up at 5:00 am to practice the movements that his Pokémon had available, he focused on Charmander because he was the youngest and had been practicing with Gible for years.
Around 8:00 they would have a short breakfast, rest for an hour and practice some more, followed by a few rounds of light sparring between them, which was practically Gible playing with Charmander while he tried and failed to keep up, this would continue until lunch, followed by another hour of rest while they reviewed the mistakes they made during the sparrings.
Without wasting time after the break they would begin to have battle against the Pokémon or trainers that were in the vicinity something that Charmander enjoyed after so many defeats against Gible and helped Ash to earn money, and some objects in case the bet of the battle has not been money or had included something else, They would eat some berries for dinner and then go to sleep when the sun was on the horizon and repeat this pattern the next day.
Ash had not seen any Pokémon worth joining his team so he remained without catches wanted quality and not quantity so he was not surprised to find nothing special in the forest other than a Caterpie, Metapod, Beedrill, Pidgey or the occasional Spearow nothing that they could not handle with extreme brutality if necessary.
He planned to capture a Pidgey soon, after all Pigeot was a force to be reckoned with once he was trained properly but he didn't want a Pidgey of the bunch, of course in the long run he would get the same results, but he wanted one that liked to fight or at least has no problem doing so.
I wanted to reach the top any Pokémon that wasn't willing to train, fight, sweat, and bleed for that goal wouldn't do.
Today he finally gave his training by finished and began his way towards the Pokémon center of Viridian city to spend the night, it would be good to sleep in a bed after so many days sleeping in his tent, he would arrive around the end of the day if he went quietly step what in his opinion was good to finally capture a Pidgey and have some more battles.
After spending the night in Viridian he would leave for Pewter City through the Viridian Forest for his first Gym medal, his battle against the rock leader should not be a problem considering that he would use a team for rookies and not his real team for combat, he also wanted to see if he had luck in the forest and captured a certain insect-type Pokémon that are known to inhabit that area although it was Hard to find and would probably have to go a little deeper into the forest.
Even so, it would be worth it if he managed to find and capture him.
Thinking again about his Gym battle he realized that as much as he wanted to test the strength of his Pokémon against the titular team of the stone prodigy as the leader of the Pewter was known, he knew that they were not yet ready to face the power of a full-blown leader maybe if Gible evolved to its intermediate stage he would have a decent chance against one of the leader's Pokémon, but he preferred to wait until the power of his entire team was optimal to start fighting really against the leaders of Gym.
As he focused on his thoughts he heard a voice coming from his back "You're a coach, right?" The voice was soft and a bit melodious so I conclude it was a girl.
"Yes, I started recently" he spoke as he turned and found a thicket orange hair, the young woman was two or three years older than him judging by his height, the aura of confidence he exuded was refreshing and made him alert so immediately his combat senses lit up in search of a challenge.
"A one-on-one combat" She said when her sea green eyes collided with her own eyes matching the challenge.
I don't need to answer, so I just pull out his Pokeball and summon his first partner, this wasn't his first battle with Gible, but he would admit in his mind that this girl might be the toughest opponent he's faced since he went on his journey so Charmander might still not be prepared to face her.
I wish I didn't disappoint him, after all he loved intense fighting.
"Gible show up for battle" called her partner who showed up with a soft roar eager for a fight, the trainer seemed to think about it for a minute before deciding.
"Seadra to battle" called a Pseudo Dragon Pokémon to match the challenge "A Gible is quite rare in this region so we will show you what a Kanto dragon can do" The young woman commented with a small wink.
Ash didn't have the heart to tell him that Seadra wasn't a dragon yet, but he decided not to destroy the rhythm of the battle he and Gible would show him who the superior dragon is anyway.
Deciding to take the first step Ash called his Pokémon "Gible come and use Toxic"
When she saw the land shark approaching Seadra who was not yet so good at moving on land, the young woman frowned at her command and decided to play hard from the start.
"Icy wind don't let it get closer"
Seeing how cold winter winds with some fragments of ice came out of the opponent's Seadra and came towards his Pokémon, which narrowly dodged the attack Ash frowned, if one of those touched it would do a lot of damage.
"Change of plans Dig, then Toxic"
Without giving even a grunt of confirmation Gible dove to the ground almost instantaneously and Ash was grateful to have spent so many afternoons in the vicinity of the professor's laboratory reducing the time it took for his Pokémon to enter underground.
The young woman growls at the movement knowing that she couldn't do much to harm the Pokémon underground.
"Seadra Alert" Warning your Pokémon to avoid the blow that would surely come in your direction.
Unfortunately he could not react in time when Gible appeared on his side connecting a blow imbued in earth energy immediately after his mouth came a purple liquid that surrounded his opponent giving him a faint purple color in some parts of his skin indicating that he was venomed.
Toxic is a movement that poisons on contact with the skin, so it is one of the most effective movements in Pokémon with less hard skin, so rock or earth type Pokémon are especially resistant to the poison type and the elemental energy of these types can help resist the poisonous damage done by movements of that type.
The metal type on the other hand is immune to poison-type attacks as long as they do not pass through their armor once injected into their blood, the poison will also affect them, but the metal-type energy will purge the poison from their system in a short time clear this depends on the potency of the poisonous energy in the poison and the metallic energy in the infected Pokémon.
In other words, how strong are the Pokémon that make the movement and receive it, a high-level metal-type Pokémon will not even notice the effects of the venom of a low-level poison-type Pokémon and in the opposite situation a low-level metal-type Pokémon despite the advantage provided by its type can suffer from the venom of a high-level poison-type Pokémon. level and even die for it.
Of course, this also applies with other types an example is that Lance's Dragonite would not suffer from the toxic of his Gible and even the poison would be cured in an instant if it was even poisoned, even a grass or insect type Pokémon of Lance's Dragonite level would be cured in an instant from a low-level poison type move.
So not only toxic if not all state movements depend on the power of the Pokémon that performs it and the power of the Pokémon that receives it, and even its types can affect, a poisoning of a poison-type Pokémon is more lethal than that of a Pokémon of another type.
An example was the Seadra that despite being suffering the effects of the poison, does not suffer as much damage compared to the damage it would suffer if the attack was carried out by a poison type.
Of course, this does not mean that he does not suffer damage, a fact that Ash was going to take advantage of immediately.
"Dragon Pulse"
Gibble closed his mouth as his eyes shone a sign that he was gathering power, took two seconds to gather the necessary energy and immediately opened his mouth allowing a dragon made of purple energy to leave in the direction of Seadra who is still resenting from the poison.
It should be noted that he could not dodge.
The attack made him fly against a tree causing him to collide with it still conscious but not with much energy to continue.
Ash was going to finish it off with another dragon pulse, but the young woman's voice stopped him.
"Enough is my defeat"
Gible saw Ash who nodded so he calmed down and walked in the direction of his trainer.
"You did well" congratulated his companion as he caressed him and saw the young woman checking on her Pokémon that besides some bruises and minor injuries had not received lasting damage.
"Take" Ash called her while throwing a Meloc Berry to deal with the poison, with the power of Seadra that berry should be more than enough to counteract the poison in the body of the little one.
She received it and posted a quick "Thank you" as she gave the berry to her Pokémon and then returned it to her Pokeball.
"It was a good fight, after that Dragon Pulse I knew the battle was over for me" I speak the orange movie while sighing for defeat.
"You're right it was a good fight and don't feel bad you preferred to end the battle to avoid unnecessary damage to your Pokémon, it's better than what many trainers do" the young woman smiled and nodded in agreement with him.
"We'll meet again" She spoke as she walked away and he did the same thing after all he still had a Pokémon to catch.
"By the way, what's your name?" I ask with faint curiosity the girl who stopped him in his tracks.
"Ash Ketchum a taste" He answered his question with a smile on his face it was good to meet someone close to his age who was not a total jerk.
"Misty Waterflower equally" He replied with his own smile and without saying more both went their own ways without saying another word.
I walk a couple of minutes without saying anything while checking the forest for wild Pokémon "It was a decent battle" Ash commented simply as he looked at Gible who walked beside him.
His Pokemon gave a nod indicating that he agreed as he wandered away among the trees aimlessly Ash hummed to himself as he continued walking, ignoring the fact that Gible was gone and focusing on his thoughts. Waterflower was the surname of the family that ran the Celestial City Gymnasium, one of the main gymnasiums in Kanto.
Possibly Misty belonged to that family, although whether she was from the leader's direct line or not was something she did not know, it was well known that some families were in charge of some Gymnasiums in some cities around the world and were in all but name the rulers of those cities had too much influence in the league and in the city to be considered less than that.
Well, it wasn't as if the leaders had more influence than the mayor of the city where their city and the surrounding area were located.
Except it was.
So she wouldn't be surprised if Misty had one or two high-level psychic Pokémon following her from a distance to ensure her safety or if she herself had high-level Pokémon delivered by her family for the same reason, plus that, although it may not be very obvious due to her battle not lasting long and Gible winning without damage, She seemed to be a skilled coach in her own right.
He kept walking for a few minutes until he stopped.
His little follower had gotten close enough to be in Gible's range after all.
"Crush it against the ground"
His command was heard in the area and a moment later a rumble in the trees, a squeal of pain, followed by the sound of something falling to the ground.
A few seconds later Gible appeared carrying an unconscious Pidgey, his wing bleeding as an indication of where he had bitten his Pokémon.
"Good job Gible, although you should be a little less tough next time I think you almost broke one of his poor guys' wings" He commented dryly as he took out some bandages and medical supplies to give first aid to the little flying guy.
This Pidgey had been watching them for the last three days he had left him thinking that the place where they had settled was possibly the home of said Pokémon and he was waiting for them to leave, but today after they left he began to follow them he was going to let him approach on his own but he was not so patient to wait and the truth that they observed him so much was making his hair stand on his feet. So he decided to take a direct approach to speed up his meeting with the little guy.
After giving him first aid she decided to wake him up.
"Hey bedtime is over boy" Ash called the Pokémon while gently tapping his head which ended up waking him up.
He seemed bewildered for a few seconds, but when he saw Ash so close, he poor jump of excitement hurting his wing more.
"Don't move too much your wing is still a little fragile, I gave him first aid, but we should go to a Pokémon center to be healed luckily it's nothing serious"
This apparently made him remember how he ended up so he saw Gible who was watching him with boredom with a grudge nothing hidden which caused a giggle in the dragon, which caused more anger to the flyer.
"Enough you two" I call stopping them even though I would admit to myself that it was a bit entertaining.
"Why were you following us?" Ash asked deciding to go to the point.
Pidgey pointed at Gible and then pointed to the Pokeball where Charmander was resting.
"Are you interested in his training and battles?" Ash asked earning a nod from the flying guy.
"You know you could join us to train if you came with me, although I warn you that there will be a lot of sweat, blood and tears, I expect the best from my Pokémon after all" The young man from Pallet invited and warned the little one giving him time to make his decision while taking out an empty Pokeball.
"Oh and you can have a rematch with Gible" I add as an afterthought.
That was all it took to convince Pidgey who jumped by hitting the device and getting caught by it.
Immediately his Pokedex registered the data of his new Pokémon giving Ash the official ownership of Pidgey, which means that for better or worse unless he releases it Ash is fully responsible for Pidgey's actions from now on, it was the same for Charmander and Gible after all.
Pidgey. The Little Bird Pokémon. It is of normal and flying type. Pidgey doesn't normally like to fight, but he won't hesitate to attack if provoked.
This Pidgey is male, has the ability Keen Eye, knows the movements: Sand Attack, Quick Attack, Wing Attack, Aerial Ace, Tackle.
"What a Quick Attack is unexpected, but not unusual, but Aerial Ace if it is a surprise, although I do not complain at all even so with its size I doubt I can use it effectively, well I will see it later for now it is time to go to Viridian City" Ash hummed while putting away his Pokedex and put the Pokeball on his belt next to Charmander's.
Gible next to him nodded as Ash started walking, but stopped abruptly.
"Before that" he closed his eyes and concentrated on the surroundings invisible to most beings blue waves came out of Ash echoing through the area and after a few seconds he stopped.
"There's nothing," he said to himself as he continued on his way as if nothing, Gible by his side in case some wild Pokémon attacked suddenly.
After all, although Ash relied on his Aura Sense, he could never be completely sure.
