Valentine's Day was slowly approaching. As we all know, Valentine's Day is a day where we show appreciation for somebody. Everybody likes Valentine's Day, all except for Good Old Charlie Brown, who's suffered just about every Valentine's Day without getting a Valentine.

As with every February, Charlie Brown was sitting right in front of his letter box, waiting for someone to send him a valentine card.

"Another Valentine's Day is on its way." Charlie Brown said to himself. Ever since I managed to talk to her, I really hope that Little Red-Haired Girl will give me a valentine this year! No, Charlie Brown! You know her name already! I know! She might have sent me a valentine early!"

Charlie Brown got up and opened the letter box, placing his hand inside to search for an early valentine's card.

"Good grief! No valentine's card! I know! I'll go over to Heather's house!"

Charlie Brown was just about to do so when Janice walked by.

"Oh. Hi, Janice." Said Charlie Brown.

"Hello, Charlie Brown." Said Janice. "What are you doing outside the mail box? Valentine's Day isn't even here yet!"

"I'm just waiting for Heather to send me a valentine." Said Charlie Brown.

"Just in case you weren't told," Janice said. "Heather's gone away for the week. She's taking care of her ill grandma. Don't worry. She's sure to return on Valentine's Day."

"She's gone away?"

"Just for the week and weekend."

"What am I going to do while she's gone?" wondered Charlie Brown.

Just as Charlie Brown was about to get up and go to his room, he saw Snoopy walking up to the mail box. He put his paw in and….

"Sorry, Snoopy." Said Charlie Brown. "Valentine's Day is only a week away. It's too early for Valentine's."

"Aw….." Snoopy said sadly.

"Not to worry, Snoopy." Said Charlie Brown. "That leaves you plenty of time to think about making valentines. And that leaves me that amount too. I've got it!"

"Huh?!" wondered Snoopy.

Charlie Brown walked inside and saw Sally working on her valentines.

"What are you doing, Sally?" asked Charlie Brown.

"I'm making some valentines, Big Brother." Said Sally. "Right now, I'm writing a very special valentine for Linus because he's my sweet babboo."

"But he says he's not your sweet babboo, and that he's Janice's." said Charlie Brown.

"What does he know?" scoffed Sally.

"Right now, I'm going to make a very special valentine."

"If you're writing one to that red-haired girl….." Sally said.

"I know. Heather's gone away for the week. Janice told me. I'm going to give it to her when she returns."

Charlie Brown remembered what he'd taught Sally. How to make a heart card.

"Hmm….. yeah. I'll make her a heart card."

Charlie Brown got a red piece of paper, some glue, and some white paper for Heather to be able to read. First, he folded the red paper and cut out half a heart. And then, he put some glue to hold the white paper. Then, as the glue dried, Charlie Brown wrote on the card. Sally looked on, and as Charlie Brown finished, he looked at what he'd written.

"There. All finished."

"Are you finished, Big Brother?" Sally asked.

"I sure am, Sally. Have a read." Charlie Brown said, handing Sally the card.

Sally read the card.

"Happy Valentine's Day… From your Sweet Babboo?! Hey! That's my line!"

The next day, all the kids went into class. As every other kid was called…..

Miss Donovan asked about Heather's absence.

"She's gone away for the week. Taking care of her ill grandma." Charlie Brown explained.

Charlie Brown looked down at his desk, and sighed. He was lonely, with no desk partner. Peppermint Patty was secretly pleased. She shot a sly look at Charlie Brown.

"Did you hear that, Marcie?" smirked Peppermint Patty. "Heather's away for the week. You know what that means?"

"Get that idea out of your head, Sir." Said Marcie sternly. "You already made the decision that Heather can have Charles."

"Aw, come on, Marcie! It's only for the week." Said Peppermint Patty.

"Well, alright, Sir. If you say so, Sir." Sighed Marcie.

"Yes!" Peppermint Patty cheered.

Then she thought.

"I get to be Chuck's desk partner again! But then again, we might get into arguments like we did last times. But on the other hand, Chuck is a sly dog."

"Er, Sir? Are you going to sit with Charles or not?" asked Marcie.

Charlie Brown was still looking down at his desk.

"Oh, what's the use?" he thought. "With Heather away for the week, I'm without a desk partner."

But Charlie Brown needn't have had to think that. Someone walked over to his desk. Charlie Brown looked to his side and saw…

"Frieda?"

"Hello, Charlie Brown." Said Frieda. "Heard that Heather's away for the week, so until she returns, I'll be your desk partner."

Frieda sat down at Charlie Brown's desk, and Charlie Brown felt a little better.

"It's nice of Frieda to be my desk partner," thought Charlie Brown. "but she's no Heather. But then again, she does have red hair. Naturally curly red hair. Ah…. Red."

"Look, Marcie! Frieda's sitting with Chuck." Said Peppermint Patty.

"Well, that means you'll have to remain my desk partner, Sir." Said Marcie.

When it was lunch time, Charlie Brown sat down at the bench, still thinking about Heather.

"You know, my first valentine for Heather isn't good enough." Charlie Brown said to himself. "I'll just have to start all over again."

As Charlie Brown thought about how to rectify his valentine for Heather, Frieda walked over.

"Hi, Charlie Brown." Said Frieda.

"Oh. Hey, Frieda." Said Charlie Brown.

"I know that you're missing Heather already, but it's only for the week as you said. But anyway, you wouldn't mind me spending time with you, would you, Charlie Brown? Well, at least until Heather comes back." Suggested Frieda.

Charlie Brown looked at Frieda, showing a gleeful smile.

"I can be your Little Red-Haired Girl for now, Charlie Brown." Frieda added.

"Don't you mean Little Naturally Curly Red-Haired Girl?" asked Charlie Brown gleefully.

Frieda giggled at this.

"Well, I do have naturally curly hair. And it is red. It's settled, Charlie Brown."

Later, when school was finished, Schroeder was playing his piano when who should walk over but Lila. Schroeder looked up and….

"Wow!" Schroeder exclaimed, admiring Lila's long blonde hair.

"Hi, Schroeder." Said Lila.

"You're wondering if I'm going to send you a valentine this year, aren't you?" asked Schroeder.

"No. Just here to listen to you play your Beethoven music." Said Lila.

"You like Beethoven, don't you, Lila?"

"No."

"No?! Why?"

"I love him. He was a great composer. So carry on with your music." Lila said.

"If you insist."

Schroeder contently continued to play Für Elise, while Lila relaxed at the end of his piano, listening to it.

"Er, Schroeder." Said Lila. "Since Valentine's Day is approaching, may I suggest a love song he composed?"

Schroeder thought and thought. Then, he started to play Melody of Love.

As Schroeder played Melody of Love, Lucy, who was on her way to Schroeder's place, listened.

"Is that…. Melody of Love?" wondered Lucy. "Oh, Schroeder does love me!"

Lucy followed the music all the way to Schroeder's place. This music was proof that Schroeder loves her… or so she thought.

As Lucy got to Schroeder's place, much to her shock, there, at the end of Schroeder's piano, was Lila.

"What are you doing here?!" asked Lucy.

"Who wants to know? Maybe I'm just here for the music." Lila explained.

"If you're going to stay here, you have to like Beethoven." Said Lucy.

"Oh, I don't like Beethoven." Said Lila.

"Well then….." Lucy began.

"I love Beethoven!" Lila exclaimed.

"Rats!" Lucy grunted.

Charlie Brown was walking home with Sally, Charlie Brown feeling a bit more confident.

"You seem to be in a good mood, Big Brother." Said Sally. "Even though that red-haired girl is away."

"I've decided that until Heather returns, Frieda can be my Little Red-Haired Girl, or as I'd like to put her, my Little Naturally Curly Red-Haired Girl." Said Charlie Brown.

"You're weird, Big Brother." Said Sally.

"This gives me high hopes for this Valentine's Day." Charlie Brown said.

"Whatever you say, Big Brother." Said Sally. "I'm going to get to work writing more valentine cards."

"Then I'd best write some too." Suggested Charlie Brown.

As Charlie Brown got home, there, sitting on the porch, was Snoopy with his dog dish.

"Don't worry, Snoopy." Said Charlie Brown. "I'll feed you. Then, I'll get to work on my valentines."

"I'll start myself, Big Brother." Said Sally.

Charlie Brown had prepared Snoopy's dog dish, then placed it on top of his doghouse. Snoopy tucked into his food.

"Good job, Snoopy." Said Charlie Brown.

Then he thought.

"He's sure to get loads of valentines this year."

Sally started off on her next valentine.

"Dear….. Angel….." Sally wrote.

"Hey, Sally. Who's this valentine for?" asked Charlie Brown.

"It's for my sweet angel." Swooned Sally.

"It's not for Linus, is it?"

"Of course not, Big Brother. He's my sweet babboo." Said Sally.

The telephone rang at this moment, and Sally went to get it.

"Hello?"

"I am NOT your sweet babboo!" yelled Linus.

"Isn't he the cutest thing?" swooned Sally.

"I'll go over to Linus' psychiatry booth tomorrow after school." Said Charlie Brown.

The next day, at school, in Linus' class, Miss Othmar made her announcement.

"Aw! Not an assignment for Valentine's Day!"

Miss Othmar made more announcements.

"Yay! We get to give valentine cards!"

Miss Othmar also announced a school dance.

"Yay! A valentine dance this Friday!" everyone cheered.

Meanwhile, in Charlie Brown's class…

Miss Donovan announced the valentine dance.

"Yay! A valentine dance this Friday!"

At lunch time that day, Charlie Brown was having lunch with Sally.

"Since Heather won't be here for this dance, I'll invite someone else to the dance." Charlie Brown said.

"Oh, I know my boyfriend Linus will take me to the valentine dance!" said Sally.

"I am NOT your boyfriend! And I wouldn't take you to a pig sty!" Linus yelled.

"Isn't he the cutest thing?" swooned Sally.

"Not this again, Sally!" sighed Charlie Brown. "How many times does Linus have to tell you that he's not your boyfriend?"

"Oh, Big Brother! Don't you want Linus to be your brother-in-law one day?" asked Sally.

"If it means I have to marry Lucy, then no." said Charlie Brown angrily.

"No, Big Brother! I mean Linus is going to become my husband one day." Said Sally.

"I am NOT your future husband! And I wouldn't marry you if you were a movie star!" Linus yelled.

"Good grief!" sighed Charlie Brown.

That afternoon, Charlie Brown went over to Linus' Psychiatry Booth. He couldn't go to Heather's booth because of her absence. Janice was there too.

"Hi, Charlie Brown. Gee, your sister really embarrassed me." said Linus.

"Oh. That's Sally for you." said Charlie Brown.

"Hey, Charlie Brown." Said Janice. "What can Linus and I do for you today?"

"Since you already know that Heather's away for the week, I want to get her something really special for Valentine's Day. Something really, really special." Said Charlie Brown.

"Why not get her a box of candy, Charlie Brown?" suggested Linus.

"I don't know, Linus." Said Charlie Brown. "Remember when you tried to give Miss Othmar a box of candy?"

"Yeah. But that was because she went with her boyfriend." Linus said.

"You mean her sweet babboo?" asked Charlie Brown cheekily.

"Good grief!" groaned Linus.

"Anyway, I don't know about this suggestion, Linus." Said Charlie Brown.

"Trust me on this, Charlie Brown." Linus said.

"Well, you're right." Charlie Brown replied.

"Charlie Brown. Before you leave….." Janice said as she got out the tin and shook it.

"Alright. Thanks for the advice." Said Charlie Brown as he tossed 3 cents into the tin.

Charlie Brown went over to the gift shop to try purchasing a box of candy.

"Hello. Er, I'm looking for a special valentine gift." Charlie Brown said.

The owner asked Charlie Brown what he wanted.

"I'm looking for a box of candy." Charlie Brown answered.

The owner said the price….

"Twenty-Five dollars? Good grief! Well….. that's all I have." Sighed Charlie Brown as he handed the $25 notes to the owner of the store, and purchased the box in the shape of a red heart.

"Heather will be so pleased when she returns!" Charlie Brown said happily. "I'll just deliver it to her house right now."

Charlie Brown walked over to Heather's house with the box of candy.

"Er, better wait until she returns." Charlie Brown decided. "Don't want the candy in this box to go stale."

Charlie Brown went home and there was Sally.

"Oh, is that my box of candy?" asked Sally.

"No, Sally. I bought this for Heather."

"Rats! I thought it would've been a box of candy from my sweet babboo!" muttered Sally.

As Sally muttered this, the telephone rang and she answered it.

"Hello?"

"I am NOT your sweet babboo! And I wouldn't buy you a box of dish rags!" Linus yelled.

"Isn't he the cutest thing?" Sally swooned.

Charlie Brown put his box of candy under his bed, hoping Snoopy wouldn't get to it, and then went to the phone.

"Now, where was I? Oh yes. Call for my date to the valentine dance. I would go with Heather, but I can't. I know! I'll call Frieda."

Charlie Brown picked up the phone and dialled the numbers.

"Come on, Frieda, answer the phone."

But Frieda didn't answer the phone. Peppermint Patty answered it.

"Hello? Frieda?" asked Charlie Brown.

"No. This is Peppermint Patty."

"Good grief! I dialled the wrong number!"

"Is that you, Chuck?" asked Peppermint Patty.

"Um…. Er….."

"Did you call me to take me to the valentine dance? Well, I accept." said Peppermint Patty as she happily hung up on Charlie Brown.

"Good grief. Never mind. I'll try again." Charlie Brown said.

Charlie Brown tried again, but this time…

"Hello. Marcie here."

"Good grief, not again!" groaned Charlie Brown.

"Charles? Is that you?" asked Marcie.

"Um….. er…."

"You called to invite me to the valentine dance, didn't you, Charles? Well, I've already chosen Franklin." Marcie said.

"Phew." Charlie Brown sighed with relief.

Marcie hung up, and Charlie Brown made a thought.

"I know! I'll go over to Frieda's house and ask her in person."

Charlie Brown went over to Frieda's house and rang the doorbell, and Frieda answered it.

"Oh! Hi, Charlie Brown." Said Frieda.

"Frieda. I wanted to ask you….."

"If you wanna take me to the valentine dance? Well, Charlie Brown. I accept!"

"Well…. Er….. great, Frieda." Said Charlie Brown.

"How wonderful! Said Frieda. "Now what to wear to this valentine dance? Something to go with my naturally curly hair."

Charlie Brown went home, content with Frieda agreeing to go to the valentine dance with him. As Charlie Brown reached the letter box…..

"Hmm…. I wonder if Heather sent me a valentine while I was gone?" wondered Charlie Brown.

Charlie Brown opened the letter box and…..

"A letter! Could it be?"

Charlie Brown looked at the letter and it said:

To: Snoopy.

"Rats!" groaned Charlie Brown.

Charlie Brown walked into the backyard to give Snoopy the letter.

"Here, Snoopy. A letter for you." Charlie Brown said.

"Yay!" cheered Snoopy as he opened the letter and read:

Dear Snoopy.

Just a letter to tell you,

Heather's grandmother is feeling better

every day.

We will be coming home

on Monday as scheduled.

Don't tell Charlie Brown,

but something special is

coming his way on

Valentine's Day.

With lots of love,

Fifi.

"Aww!" Snoopy said happily.

Next, Woodstock flew on top of Snoopy's doghouse with a paper heart, and chirped his scratchy chicken scratch noises. Then, he slapped the heart on Snoopy's nose. Woodstock laughed as his canine friend looked on sternly.

Sally was still determined to ask Linus to take her to the valentine dance.

"If a phone conversation won't work, then I'll have to ask him in person."

Sally went over to the Van Pelt place, and went to see if Linus was available.

"I really hope my sweet babboo takes me to the valentine dance!" smiled Sally.

As Sally got to the Van Pelt place, she was shock to see that Janice had already gotten there.

"Linus. I've been meaning to ask you." Said Janice.

"Yes?" asked Linus.

"Will you take me to the valentine dance?" asked Janice.

"I!" Linus replied.

"Oh good grief! Please say no! Please say no!" begged Sally.

"Yes! I will take you to the valentine dance!" said Linus happily.

"Oh, Linus! Thank you! This will be the best valentine dance ever! My sweet babboo!" said Janice.

"He's not your sweet babboo!" yelled Sally.

"What was that?" asked Janice.

"Oh, that was nothing." Replied Linus.

"Aaugh." Sally groaned.

The day of the valentine dance had arrived. It was also a school day.

Miss Donovan announced the valentine homework.

"Yay! We get to make and send valentines to everyone!"

Miss Donovan said they needed to do it….

"At home?! Awww!"

Miss Donovan reminded everyone about the valentine dance.

"Oh yeah! The valentine dance tonight!"

At lunch time, Charlie Brown sat down on the bench, feeling rather nervous. He'd gotten two dates for the valentine dance. With Peppermint Patty and Frieda.

"What am I going to do? I have two dates tonight!" worried Charlie Brown.

Then, Peppermint Patty came over to sit with Charlie Brown.

"Hiya, Chuck!" said Peppermint Patty. "Looking forward to dancing with me tonight?"

"Er, Patty? There's something I need to confess." Said Charlie Brown.

"What is it, Chuck? Don't tell me that Red-Haired Girl is your date tonight."

"Oh no. It's not Heather. She's still absent. So how can she be my date?" asked Charlie Brown.

"Heather? I'm talking about Frieda!" said Peppermint Patty.

"Really? Oh, er…."

"Admit it, Chuck! Frieda's your date!"

"Yes. Frieda's my date." Sighed Charlie Brown.

"Ah ha! I knew it, Chuck!" shouted Peppermint Patty.

As Peppermint Patty was about to walk away, Frieda walked over to Charlie Brown, surprised to see Peppermint Patty with him.

"Peppermint Patty? What are you doing with Charlie Brown?" asked Frieda.

"Frieda? Alright. I admit it, Frieda. I was trying to phone you to be my date, but I accidentally phoned Peppermint Patty." Explained Charlie Brown.

"Ah, so you didn't want to be my date after all, Chuck! You care more for your Little Red-Haired Girl more than you care for me!" Peppermint Patty said angrily.

"You mean Little Naturally Curly Red-Haired Girl." Said Frieda.

"Oh." Said Peppermint Patty.

"Hold on, Patty!" said Frieda, "I have a solution! Charlie. Why don't you dance with both of us?"

"Hey! Why didn't I think of that?" said Charlie Brown. "Yes! You can take it in turns dancing with me."

"You're gonna dance with me tonight, Chuck?" asked Peppermint Patty.

"Yes." Said Charlie Brown.

"Alright! Put er there!"

Charlie Brown grabbed Peppermint Patty's left hand with his left and shook it.

"You're hold my hand, Chuck. You are a sly dog!" said Peppermint Patty dreamily.

"Good grief!" sighed Frieda.

That afternoon, Frieda got home, and prepared herself for the valentine dance. She'd dyed her hair a much brighter red so that way, she would truly be a Little Naturally Curly Red-Haired Girl. Then, she waited until her hair dye dried. Once it had dried, she'd dressed herself in a turquoise blouse, a turquoise pleated skirt, and added a lavender bow in her hair so that way, she would remind Charlie Brown of Heather. She'd dressed herself in purple socks and white Mary Jane shoes. And then, she looked at herself in the mirror.

"Frieda Rich, looking beautiful, especially with your naturally curly red hair."

Charlie Brown was at home, dressing himself for the school dance. He'd put on a white dress shirt, a red bow tie, and a navy tux.

"Charlie Brown, looking sharp for a blockhead."

Charlie Brown was about to set out when he saw Sally come out of her room in a blue sparkly dress and a sparkly blue bow in her hair.

"Sally! Looking fabulous!" Charlie Brown said happily.

"Thanks, Big Brother." Said Sally.

"Tell me, did you ask your sweet babboo to the school dance?" asked Charlie Brown.

"Yes. He'll be here any minute now." Said Sally.

"Well, I have to feed Snoopy now. Then, I'll be picking up my date." Charlie Brown decided.

"See you there, Big Brother." Said Sally.

Charlie Brown prepared Snoopy's dinner, and then walked out with the dish.

"Snoopy! Oh, Snoopy!" called Charlie Brown.

Snoopy got off his doghouse upon hearing Charlie Brown call his name.

"I'm going to the valentine dance tonight. Feeding you now so you won't starve." Said Charlie Brown.

"Yay!"

Snoopy tucked in, while Charlie Brown walked out.

As Charlie Brown was walking, he saw Linus and Janice. Linus was dressed in a black tux and a blue bow tie, while Janice was dressed in a sparkly red dress and a red bow in her hair.

"Hey, Linus! Hey, Janice!" said Charlie Brown.

"Hi, Charlie Brown!" said Linus.

"Looking so beautiful in that red dress, Janice!" said Charlie Brown.

"Thanks, Charlie Brown." Said Janice. "Say, where's your date."

"Picking them up." Said Charlie Brown.

"Them?" wondered Linus.

Charlie Brown stopped over at Frieda's house. And as Frieda answered…..

"Frieda! Looking fab-u-lous!" said Charlie Brown admiringly.

"Thanks, Charlie Brown." Said Frieda. "How does it feel bringing a girl with naturally curly hair?"

"If it's a Little Naturally Curly Red-Haired Girl, it feels fantastic. Come on. Let's go, Frieda."

"Watch the curls, Charlie!"

Next, Charlie Brown and Frieda got to Peppermint Patty's house to pick her up. There, Peppermint Patty was sitting on the door step, dressed in a green sleeveless shirt, a large green bow in her hair, a green frilly skirt, and green sandals.

"Hiya, Chuck! Come to bring me to the valentine dance?" said Peppermint Patty.

"Sure. Come on, Patty." Said Charlie Brown as he grabbed both Peppermint Patty's hands to take her off the step.

"You touched both my hands, Chuck!" swooned Peppermint Patty.

Sally was still waiting at home for her date.

"If it's not Linus, then….."

The door knocked, and Sally went to answer it. As she did…..

"Harold Angel!"

"Hi, Sally!" said Harold Angel. "I've come to take you to the valentine dance."

"Anything you say, my Sweet Angel." Said Sally.

So both Sally and Harold Angel walked over to the valentine dance.

Upon Sally and Harold Angel arriving at the dance, there were all the students with their dance partners. Marcie was with Franklin. Schroeder was with Lila. Pig-Pen was with Patty Swanson, Linus was with Janice, and much to Sally's surprise, Charlie Brown was with both Frieda and Peppermint Patty.

"My big brother is starting to get all the luck." Said Sally, eyeing Charlie Brown with Peppermint Patty and Frieda. "Come on, Harold Angel. Let's dance."

Meanwhile, Lucy was looking for Schroeder. She was still willing to dance with him.

"Now where is Schroeder? Oh, Schroeder!" cooed Lucy.

Lucy looked over and saw Schroeder with Lila.

"Schroeder?" Lucy quizzed.

At the same time, Violet found Schroeder too.

"What is Schroeder doing with that blondie?" asked Violet.

"If that Lila girl thinks she can take my future husband off of me, then she's wrong!" said Lucy angrily.

"You're wrong, Lucy! He's my future husband!" said Violet.

Violet and Lucy marched toward Schroeder with determination and upon Schroeder turning around….

"Oh good grief!" sighed Schroeder.

"What do you think you're doing, Schroeder?" asked Lucy.

"Dancing with Lila! What does it look like?" Schroeder said.

"You should be dancing with me!" said Lucy.

"No! You should be dancing with me!" answered Violet.

"No, hold it! You should be dancing with both of us!" decided Lucy.

"Fine! If it'll make you happy!" sighed Schroeder.

How is Linus with Janice? Well, Linus and Janice held both each other's hands, and they danced a gentle waltz. They continued to dance until they accidentally bumped into Charlie Brown, knocking him onto the floor.

"Huh?!" quizzed Linus.

Janice looked down and saw…..

"Charlie Brown?"

"Whoa!" moaned Charlie Brown.

"Sorry, Charlie Brown!" said Janice.

"No harm done." Said Charlie Brown.

"Here, Chuck. Let me help you up." Said Peppermint Patty.

"No. Let me help you up." Said Frieda.

"No. You can both help me up." Said Charlie Brown.

So that's what both Frieda and Peppermint Patty up.

"You mean to tell me….." Linus puzzled.

"Yep. Both Frieda and Peppermint Patty are my dates this valentine. But I meant to bring Frieda and Frieda only." Said Charlie Brown.

"Come on, Charlie Brown. Who do you want to dance with first?" asked Frieda.

"I'll pick…." Then Charlie Brown decided. "Frieda. After all, she is my Little Naturally Curly Red-Haired Girl."

"Oh, Charlie Brown!" smiled Frieda.

"Aw, good grief!" groaned Peppermint Patty.

So that was that. Charlie Brown and Frieda both waltzed together, while Peppermint Patty watched on, waiting her turn.

"Alright. Peppermint Patty. Your turn." Charlie Brown decided.

"Wonderful! Come on, Chuck! Slow, slow, quick quick! Remember the steps!"

Both Peppermint Patty and Charlie Brown danced together. Charlie Brown looked at Peppermint Patty in confusion, since she wasn't his original choice for the dance.

When the dance was over, everyone walked home. Charlie Brown walked both Frieda and Peppermint Patty home.

"That was a wonderful dance you did with me, Charlie Brown." Said Frieda.

"You were a better dancer than I expected you to be, Chuck." Said Peppermint Patty.

"Thanks, gals. You're better than I expected too." Said Charlie Brown.

As Charlie Brown brought Peppermint Patty home, Peppermint Patty looked at him with a smile.

"Thanks for inviting me, Chuck. It was fun while it lasted. Goodnight!" said Peppermint Patty.

"Goodnight, Patty. Come on, Frieda." Charlie Brown said.

As both Charlie Brown and Frieda had reached the Rich place, Frieda looked at Charlie Brown with glee.

"Thanks for inviting me to the dance. I had so much fun! Goodnight!" smiled Frieda.

And Frieda kissed Charlie Brown's right cheek. For a split second, Charlie Brown stuck his tongue out, and then blushed as red as Frieda's hair. As Frieda went inside, Charlie Brown walked home with glee.

Soon, Valentine's Day had arrived, and Charlie Brown went to the letterbox to check. As he opened it, a whole bunch of valentines fell out.

"Gee! That's a lot of valentines for me! Any for me?" exclaimed Charlie Brown.

Charlie Brown went through all of them, and saw that all of them were addressed to Snoopy.

"Good grief! Snoopy must really be that popular!" exclaimed Charlie Brown.

Snoopy heard his name, and ran to the mailbox, obtaining all his valentine cards.

"Good grief!" Charlie Brown sighed.

Snoopy went on top of his doghouse where Woodstock started to perch, and then, Snoopy slapped a paper heart on Woodstock's beak. Snoopy laughed as his avian friend glared at him.

Charlie Brown was walking to school, and on the way, he saw Patty Swanson, carrying some Valentine cards.

"Hey, Patty. Sending some valentine cards, are you?" Asked Charlie Brown.

"I am. I'm sending them to all the boys at school I like." Said Patty Swanson.

As Patty responded, a valentine card fell off her pile.

"Patty! You dropped a card!" called Charlie Brown as he picked it up and noticed the initials on the card.

"C.B. Oh. You won't wanna forget this one, would you, Patty?" called Charlie Brown.

"Oh no! Chris Brandon would be so disappointed!" smirked Patty Swanson.

"Rats!" said Charlie Brown.

At lunch time, Charlie Brown was having his lunch, and then, he saw Lucy handing out some valentine cards.

"Hey, Lucy." Said Charlie Brown.

"Oh. Hello, Charlie Brown." Replied Lucy.

"You're handing out Valentine's Cards, are you?" asked Charlie Brown.

"Whatsit to you?"

"Is there one for me?"

"Why should there be? I don't like you, Charlie Brown." Lucy said.

"Aw, I've hardly ever gotten a valentine's card! Can't you send me one out of sorrow?" asked Charlie Brown.

"No." replied Lucy.

"Fine. Have it your way. I didn't want a valentine from you anyway." Said Charlie Brown.

At this very time, Sally was walking around the courtyard with her valentine cards, with Eudora close by.

"These are valentines I made for the boys at school that I like. And these are two special ones. One for my sweet babboo, and another for my sweet angel." Explained Sally.

"Do your sweet babboo and your sweet angel know who they are?" asked Eudora.

"Of course. They know who they are." Said Sally.

Sally gave one valentine to Linus. Upon receiving the valentine, Linus read the card.

"To my sweet babboo,

Happy Valentine's Day,

Signed,

Your Sweet Babbooette,

Sally Brown."

"Heh heh." Sally chuckled.

"I'm not her sweet babboo, and she's not my sweet babbooette!" Linus said sternly.

"Isn't Linus the cutest thing?" Sally swooned.

Sally came up to Harold Angel and handed him the other special valentine.

"To my sweet angel,

The valentine dance was so spectacular.

You danced like a real angel.

Happy Valentine's Day!

Signed,

Sally Brown."

"Oh!" cried Sally.

"Thanks for the valentine, Sally!" said Harold Angel.

When school was over, Charlie Brown walked home, feeling dejected that nobody had sent him a valentine.

"What's the point of Valentine's Day when nobody sends you a valentine card?" Charlie Brown asked himself.

As Charlie Brown got home, there was Linus, dressed as a cupid. Janice was there too, also dressed as a cupid.

"Linus? Janice?" Charlie Brown quizzed.

"Hi, Charlie Brown." Said Janice.

Janice looked at Charlie Brown's face.

"Is there a problem, Charlie Brown?" asked Janice.

"Nobody sent me a valentine this year." Said Charlie Brown sadly.

"Oh, I don't know about that!" smirked Linus.

"Look in the mailbox, Charlie Brown!" said Janice.

"Alright then." Said Charlie Brown.

Sally looked out the window and was enamoured at the sight of Linus. She walked up to Linus.

"Oh, Linus!" called Sally.

"Aaugh!" groaned Linus.

Linus ran away as fast as he could, only for Sally to chase after him.

"Linus! Come back!" called Janice as she ran after Linus, who was running away from Sally.

"Come on, Linus! Don't you wanna take your sweet babboo to a romantic movie? It's Valentine's Day!" called Sally.

"AAUGH!" Linus screamed.

Linus and Sally had reached the park, and Linus was so exhausted, he stopped to rest on the park bench.

"Oh, Sweet Babboo!" called Sally.

"Ugh!" groaned Linus.

Janice soon caught up with both Linus and Sally.

"Oh, Linus!" smiled Janice as she got out a bow and arrow, and then, she fired the arrow at Linus' head.

"Whoa!" cried Linus.

"Happy Valentine's Day, Sweet Babboo!" said Janice.

"I… I…"

"Yes?"

"I am your sweet babboo, Janice!" called Linus.

"You are not!" yelled Sally.

"He is too!" Janice retorted.

"Rats! Oh well. I guess I'll have to focus on my Sweet Angel this year." Said Sally.

"I'm not your sweet angel!" yelled Linus.

"Not you, Silly! I'm talking about Harold Angel." Said Sally.

Sally walked off, leaving Linus and Janice alone.

"Now that Sally is gone, let's spend some quality time together." Said Janice.

"What can we do, Janice?" asked Linus.

"Let's go to a movie!" Janice decided.

"Yes! Let's!" said Linus happily.

After they'd changed back to their normal clothes, Linus went to the Emmons' place. But Janice didn't open the door. It was her Patty-like sister Lindsey.

"Oh. Hey, Linus. If you want Janice, she's coming right now." Said Lindsey.

And as Lindsey said this, Janice arrived at the door.

"Hey, Linus! Are you ready to go to the movies?" asked Janice.

"I sure am!" said Linus. "Let's go to a romantic one."

"A romance is perfect, Linus!"

So both Linus and Janice walked out of the Emmons place, and on their way to the cinema.

Meanwhile, Marcie and Peppermint Patty made their way to the Browns' house to send a valentine card each.

"Marcie, did you put my name on your valentine card?" asked Peppermint Patty.

"Sir, you have your own valentine card." Said Marcie.

"Oh. Yeah. That's right!" chuckled Peppermint Patty.

"Do you think he'll like my valentine the best, Sir?"

"No, Marcie. He'll like mine better. Oh, and Marcie."

"Yes, Sir?"

"Until we get to his place, stop calling me 'Sir'."

"Yes, Ma'am." Marcie said solemnly.

At this very time, Frieda was walking over with a valentine too.

"Oh I can't wait to see the look on his face when he sees my valentine! After all, he does appreciate a girl with naturally curly red hair." Said Frieda.

Charlie Brown was still at the mailbox, still surprised by Sally chasing Linus away.

"Gee, my sister just can't seem to give my best friend a break, can she?" Charlie Brown sighed.

Then, Snoopy came out, dressed as a cupid.

"He he!" giggled Snoopy.

"Oh. Hey, Snoopy." Said Charlie Brown.

Snoopy got out a bow and arrow, and prepared to fire it at Charlie Brown, until…..

"Hm." Pondered Snoopy.

Snoopy jumped up and plunged the arrow on Charlie Brown's head.

At this time, Fifi, who'd just returned, came out of a tree, also dressed as a cupid. She pointed her bow and arrow toward Snoopy,

"Yipe!" cried Snoopy.

Snoopy tried to run away, only for Fifi to fire and the arrow hit Snoopy's head.

"He he!" giggled Fifi.

As Charlie Brown pulled the arrow Snoopy shot off his head, both Marcie and Peppermint Patty arrived.

"Hey, Charles." Said Marcie.

"Hi, Chuck." Said Peppermint Patty. "We saw the look on your face at school today, and knew nobody sent you a valentine. To make up for that, we're each going to give you one."

Both Peppermint Patty and Marcie sent Charlie Brown their valentine, and Charlie Brown read Marcie's first.

Dear Charles,

I saw how you felt today, and boy was Lucy mean.

Not sending you a valentine, I guess she wasn't keen.

This valentine from me to you has no kinds of gnarls.

Happy Valentine's Day, Good Old Charles.

Signed,

Marcie C. Johnson.

"Wow!" cried Charlie Brown.

"Read mine, Chuck!" said Peppermint Patty.

Charlie Brown got out Peppermint Patty's valentine to him.

Dear Chuck,

I'm so happy that you had a proper chance

To take me to this year's Valentine dance.

Thank you for doing so, I wish you good luck.

Happy Valentine's Day, Good Old Chuck!

Signed,

Peppermint Patricia Reichardt.

"Wow! Such a lovely valentine! Thanks, Patty! And thank you, Marcie!" Charlie Brown said.

"Happy Valentine's Day, Charles!" said Marcie.

"Yeah! Happy Valentine's Day, Chuck!

Marcie and Peppermint Patty both walked away.

"Now where was I? Oh yeah!" Charlie Brown remembered.

As Charlie Brown was about to continue, Frieda came over.

"Hi, Charlie Brown! Here, I brought you something!" said Frieda.

Charlie Brown looked at Frieda's envelope, which she handed to him.

"Wow!" cried Charlie Brown opened it and saw a valentine card.

"For me?" asked Charlie Brown.

Frieda nodded, and Charlie Brown started to read it.

Dear Charlie Brown,

I'm happy you decided to show your care,

For a red-haired girl with naturally curly hair.

Your dance with me was sweet without a frown.

Happy Valentine's Day, Good old Charlie Brown.

Signed,

Frieda Rich.

"Wow! This valentine card was so beautiful! Thank you so much, Frieda!" said Charlie Brown.

"Happy Valentine's Day, Charlie Brown!" said Frieda.

As Frieda walked home, Charlie Brown suddenly remembered.

"Ah….. Wait! Janice told me to check the mailbox." Said Charlie Brown.

As he said this, both Linus and Janice came by on their way to a movie.

"Linus? Janice?"

"Have you checked the letterbox yet, Charlie Brown?" asked Janice.

"Not yet, and I'm about to." Said Charlie Brown.

"Thanks for taking me out, Linus." Said Janice.

Then, Janice kissed Linus' left cheek. Linus felt Janice's kiss so much, his hairs went straight and he blushed redder than his shirt.

"Oh…. Er….. let's continue, Janice. The movie won't come to us." Said Linus.

As Linus and Janice continued their way, Charlie Brown opened the mailbox and noticed something…

"Is that?"

Charlie Brown reached in and pulled it out.

"Is this…"

Charlie Brown read it.

"Charlie Brown! It's a valentine! But who'd waste a valentine on Boring Dull Weak Old Blockhead Charlie Brown?"

Charlie Brown opened the card, and it was a card with love hearts and the words: HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY!

"Who could've sent me this?" wondered Charlie Brown as he opened the card and read:

Dearest Charlie Brown.

I've been thinking about you every day.

Something I've been doing while I was away.

I hope you did the same during this time.

I've done all that with no reason or rhyme.

You're the boy I love, and I hate to see you feel down,

Happy Valentine's Day, good old Charlie Brown.

Signed,

The one you admire.

"Could it be from…..?"

Charlie Brown turned around to find who sent him the valentine card. And much to his surprise, he found…

"Heather?!"

Heather looked at him with a broad smile, and both her hands behind her back.

"Oh! I have something for you." said Charlie Brown.

"Hm." Heather pondered.

Charlie Brown went inside to get Heather's something special. He went under his bed and picked out the box of candy. Then, he handed it to Heather.

"A box of candy!" exclaimed Heather. "Oh, Charlie Brown! You are so thoughtful! The most thoughtful person I have ever met! Thank you for this!"

"And thank you for the valentine, Heather." Said Charlie Brown.

Heather closed her eyes and leaned toward Charlie Brown. Kissed his left cheek, causing Charlie Brown to blush redder than her hair.

"Oh…. Er…. Heh heh!" Charlie Brown chuckled with delight.

And Heather hugged Charlie Brown, to which Charlie Brown sighed with delight. This year, he hadn't gotten one valentine. Not two. Not three. But four. He especially got one each from both his Little Red-Haired Girls. One from his Little Naturally Curly Red-Haired Girl Frieda, and one from his true Little Red-Haired Girl Heather.

"Wow." Charlie Brown said happily.

"Say, Charlie Brown. What would you like to do?" asked Heather

"Er…. Go to the movies?" suggested Charlie Brown.

"I would be delighted." Said Heather.

So Heather held Charlie Brown's right hand with her left, and they both walked to the cinemas. Charlie Brown, after receiving valentine cards from four girls who admire him, already decided that this was his best Valentine's Day ever…. Well, his only good Valentine's Day ever.

"Happy Valentine's Day, Charlie Brown!"

"And Happy Valentine's Day to you, Heather."
