Once again two clones appeared in another world but for Naruto and Sasuke this place felt and looked a lot more familiar, they sort of found themselves with int the forest in the Fire Nation, The fact is that they first needed to figure out when in time they were, maybe this place was their world, but they could be in any point in time, past, present or even their future.
The Valley of the End did not seem to show any signs of their battle, and the roads were heavily plagued by bandits as they remember it this time was right at the time when Naruto took his last exam, they knew that they would not be immediately trusted, and saying who they were to the guards at the gate to the village would be just begging for someone to capture and send them to the Anbu Interrogation and Torture Division.
They were both back in their teens and the good thing is that they recovered from many injuries, such as Sasuke and Naruto having again two arms, "Look Dobe, we can't be blunt and immediately introduce ourselves to the "eternal" guards, no matter how hilarious you think their reaction would be, at best we would be treated as liars and con artists, and at worst security risks, we need to be stealthy about this, so instead, I suggest we pretend to be Anbu, you take a fox mask because you like that, and I will take a Snake mask, and no we can't make them look like our tail beasts, or they might just want to try and murder us to steal those beasts. We need to keep them secret till we know they will not try to kill us to get them, and because even if they don't, other villages will want to."
Naruto began to shake his head upon hearing this, he was not happy about this one bit, "You are just too paranoid, Teme, these people are our friends, our family, we need to be as open and honest as possible, what could make you think that doing this will make them trust us? When they find out they will be angry and for good reason, but as much as I hate to admit it, I think that until we find out if we are back in our world or we landed in another that looks like it, we can do things your way, even if I hate it."
As both friends decided to use Anbu armor and their chosen masks they came towards the southern gate to Konoha, the two guards that are called the eternal guards that they never get another post, and never even bother to raise in rank, these guards decided to greet them and deal with any potential paperwork or gather information to arrest them should they be intruders pretending to be Anbu.
One of them stepped closer to Sasuke who was wearing his Snake Mask, and looks at him, and asked him what is their position, rank, and reason for wanting to enter the village, Sasuke told him two Anbu returning from a mission, rank Jounin, mission information is classified to those that are not their superiors or the Hokage.
The other guard looked at the one wearing the Fox mask and asked him to at least tell them their names, to which again the Snake mask Anbu told him that it is against Anbu regulations to disclose or reveal their identity to anyone that is not part of Anbu or outside of ANBU Headquarters, and the only person that may ask outside of ANBU is the Hokage. The two came to realize that technically this person is correct, the identity of an ANBU member was highly sought after by enemies, and keeping such things secret was always done by the members of ANBU.
"Look we don't mean to give you two an extra hard time, and we know the traditions and regulations that ANBU must obey, so we understand, but we are currently having a bit of a situation, an hour ago the supposed child of our late Fourth Hokage, failed to pass the academy test for the third time, and for some reason, he decided to steal an extremely valuable scroll, we have to prevent anyone from entering the village lest he might meet the person whom that kid plans to sell that scroll to. Hence why we were trying to keep both of you out, sorry about that."
Naruto looked at him behind his Fox mask and pretended to let out a big sigh, "So that is what is going on, don't worry, had we been inside the village the Hokage would have sent us, along with the other members of our division to search for the kid, but hearing this we might be able to help you find him, Snake and I happen to be good trackers, just keep that a secret, and we might be able to find the kind, even find out what the hell motivated the honorable son of the Fourth Hokage to do something like this."
One of the guards felt curious about how could they say they could find the kid when an entire village of ninjas had not been able to do that in several hours. Sasuke looked at the man putting out as much focused killer intent as possible telling him that the less they know of their abilities, the less likely they will become liabilities, and thus their lives will not be at risk.
Feeling the killer's intent and seeing that it does feel like something a Jounin that has seen heavy combat would feel, they stood aside and let the two enter the village without realizing that they were speaking to shadow clones the entire time, they quickly made it into the forest near the village, Naruto knew that his counterpart more than likely was tricked by that scumbag Mizuki, under the lie of getting the scroll and learning a technique from it was a special test to help him graduate.
No matter how many years pass, Naruto always felt ashamed that he fell for such a lie, and that in doing so he caused Iruka the only teacher that really cared about his students to become injured. As soon as they were far away from anyone who could hear Sasuke decided to ask Naruto about this, he heard rumors that he had defeated Mizuki but never the actual details.
"So Dobe, if this version of you is doing like you once did, where do you think we will find him, and mind telling me why is this happening?" Naruto looked at his friend and told him he could tell him on the way, as for where they were going, they are going to an old hunting cabin that is in the outskirts of the Forest of Death, as to why this is happening Mizuki tricked the younger version of himself, he lied about a special test, and more than likely he intends to kill him and steal the Forbidden Scroll that is kept within the Hokage's office library. "Since people are still looking for this version of Naruto, chances are that either he is training to learn that skill or he is in the middle of his fight against Mizuki, I don't know how strong this version of Naruto is, but to prevent a tragedy we better help, we will also need to treat Iruka who is injured, so enough chatter and let's hurry or we might arrive too late from preventing the death on that teacher of ours, and Naruto from here will be treated as a criminal for stealing village secrets, or worse he could be killed, so less talking and more running."
Sasuke didn't particularly like the rude tone of his voice, but he guessed that he was concerned about what could happen to the version of himself from this world, Iruka was badly injured, if he was not treated immediately he would be unable to ever walk again, so Sasuke told his friend to take off and find Naruto, help him if possible, while he remained and made sure to treat Iruka's injuries, Naruto only had one question, how could he treat Iruka's injuries, he was not a field medic, to only receive a glare from Sasuke as he told him that he learned many things under Orochimaru's mentorship, healing minor injuries like this was not to difficult. As Naruto saw the hands of Sasuke begin to glow a green light, he knew that he could leave the treatment of Iruka to his friend.
It was when he finally reached the place where this version of Naruto and Iruka were fighting, that for some odd reason, the way this version of himself seemed to move was odd compared to how he preferred to fight, the strikes were done with more focused on precision rather than brute strength, the evasions were quite agile and almost seemed like this Naruto was practically dancing around Mizuki, the part that nearly made Naruto freak out was when Mizuki did a low kick and ended up kicking him on the balls, but this version of himself didn't even look like he felt it at all.
His only reaction was pure rage as he quickly created a small army of shadow clones, which proceeded to beat Mizuki within an inch of his life, except this time they were particularly more vicious than even Naruto remembers being. While Naruto remembers that he wanted to avenge himself and Iruka for what this bastard had done, this version of Naruto looked like he was not going to be happy with just beating him up and giving him to be punished under the law of the village, he looked like he wanted to rip his genitals off and force Mizuki to eat them.
Naruto had no alternative but to stop the version of Naruto from this world from basically mutilating and murdering the traitor, he quickly used a seal to send the unconscious Mizuki into a seal designed to hold and transport dangerous criminals. "Relax, my friend is taking care of your teacher's injuries, now let us return to the Hokage so you can explain what the hell were you thinking, taking the forbidden scroll, and what Mizuki planned to do with it after he would have taken it from you, don't you worry, I know you are innocent."
As this version of Naruto heard this, we heard everything and it was quite shocking to see this, for his friend, the version of Naruto that came and landed on this world it was a little more than shocking to see that another version of himself had actually fallen for such an obvious lie, he might not admit it, but he often felt like that was something he would always feel ashamed for. Sasuke may pick on him about it from time to time, but then again Naruto often made fun of him by reminding him how much of a sock puppet he became when he followed the orders and instructions of Orochimaru. These two friends simply were that open and honest about what they thought of each other, which is why they can work so well, trust is important for developing good teamwork.
Naruto looked at the version from the planet they were on, and he couldn't stop thinking about it, so he had to ask, how in the world could he stand being kicked on the family jewels and not scream in agony, he went further and said that it was almost like he wasn't a man at all, his friend simply told the person who asked this that maybe Naruto simply has padded clothing that makes it less painful to receive a strike to such sensitive areas.
The version of Naruto that they had helped had stopped moving and he was covering his face since it was pretty obvious the massive blush that had appeared on his face, "Actually my name is not Naruto, it's Naruko, and I am the twin sister of the person who was born and was supposed to be named Naruto, my brother died protecting my sister when that masked person attacked mother when she was in the throws of labor for both of us, I decided when I first could that I would take up his name and his likeness since such a hero should have survived, a newborn prevented a full grown man from killing a helpless woman, how could I not admire my brother the way I do."
Sasuke looked at her and simply couldn't help but feel that wasn't the entire extent of this, he simply asked if this didn't have anything to do with CRA, and the fact that as one of the very few Uzumaki that remain she wouldn't be forced to basically marry multiple men and do nothing but have babies till the day she died during childbirth. Naruko didn't want to admit it but deep down she didn't like the prospect of being treated as nothing more than a baby incubator and factory. If she was to have to go through the agony and torture of having a child, she wanted that child to be conceived with the man she loves, not simply because it is convenient for people that don't even care about her own happiness.
Sasuke could understand why she would feel like that, it was not a great feeling but it was much worse for ladies that had to go through this, Sasuke still remembered the pressure of having this responsibility himself, to marry multiple women and they made it sound the only outcome that should be considered having as many children as possible, Sasuke on the other hand wanted to marry women with skill, ability and people he could entrust to help each other, a marriage for mere economic convenience never lasts, but one where the spouses are equals and treat each other as life partners that was a different story.
As much as he hated to admit it, that is what he hated about those women that wanted to marry him, they didn't care about him or were willing to work alongside him, they cared about how could they use his status to use as a social stepping stone, to make their families richer, have more fame, achieve glory, and be of higher social status, but in the end Sasuke back then felt like nothing more than a tool, and one they would dispose off once he was no longer useful.
As he told Naruko that Iruka would be back to normal with a couple days of rest, she was happy to hear that and rushed to check on her teacher, Iruka smiled and he looked at his student like always, with a smile on his face, "You can trick the entire world, but you never tricked me, you pulled all those pranks because you know your brother would have done so, you were desperate for attention and recognition, but I knew it was because you wanted to fill a hole in your heart after the loss of your father and brother, but I always knew that you were a girl, nobody can be that emotional if they are not also a girl, so come on, close your eyes."
Naruko did as she was told and that is when she felt something being tied around her head and that is when she felt a cold piece of metal touch her forehead, she knew from the feeling of the cloth that tied it to her head and the coldness of the metal, this was a leaf headband, one she wanted after she graduated.
"As recognition of stopping a traitor to the village, and preventing the theft of one of the most important scrolls that the village possesses, I hereby acknowledge that you have the skills to be a graduate of the ninja academy and grant you the rank of Genin. I should have recognized that Mizuki had done something to your test, and I can only apologize for my blind trust in one of my fellow teachers."
To both Naruto and Sasuke, this was a particularly touching scene, Naruto felt something like this, but even after this happened to Naruko, Naruto couldn't help but to try and stop himself from letting his emotions get the better of him, because he was liable to start also crying. "Well, this solves one major incident for Naruko, which makes me wonder if the Sasuke in this world will also end up being another girl. Well no matter, as soon as we meet Jiji, I am sure he will tell us what we need after we answer all of his questions, the only concern I have is what is preventing him from simply not believing what we have to tell him and simply kick us out of the village."
Sasuke told Naruto that it was quite simple, by now the sensors probably already can notice their Doujutsu, and he is not going to kick out of his village two people with fully mature Sharin-Rinnegan, never mind that he will want to know every secret that we have, the mystery of our appearance and how this could be beneficial to the village, is far too much incentive for him to consider kicking them out of the village. He finished saying this as he pats his own stomach this made Naruto realize that they were also the Jinchuriki of All Nine of the Nine-Tails and Ten-Tails, which would make them an attractive prospect if only for the potential addition to the village's military power.
As Naruto and Sasuke helped Naruko and Iruka return back to the safety of the village, several ANBU were waiting for them, and upon seeing them Iruka relaxed, as one of them lead him towards the village hospital, and the other told Naruko that the Hokage wishes to speak about what happened and the reason for the theft of the forbidden scroll. As soon as he was finished he looked at the two friends and did something this person never does with ease, he smiled and told the two friends that they also need to report their mission to the Hokage.
They both gave a standard salute of the ANBU to a higher-ranked member and Yamamoto found this particularly funny as he watched Naruto and the two friends being guided toward the Hokage tower, Yamamoto had to agree that had he not known that these two were not actual members of ANBU, he would have been fooled by them, their mannerisms and the way they conducted themselves was practically what one would expect from an ANBU except it was very respectful and professional. In the ANBU that he was part of the members treated each other as more as a family rather than being a military unit, but it seems it was different from where these two friends came from, but deep down he knew that eventually he would meet these two again.
There was something however that did make him nervous for some reason, looking at their eyes, made him almost feel an instinctual fear, something in the way their eyes looked made Yamamoto think those eyes hide something he found terrifying.
As Naruko and the two friends finally walked up the long stairs that ran outside of the building, they reached the top floor where the office of the Hokage was located, the secretary didn't bother stopping her work as she was sorting paperwork and told everyone to step into the office since the Hokage has been waiting to see them. Sasuke felt weird after hearing what the secretary said, he could not see her face but something about the tone of her voice made him think she sounded like someone he knew, someone he once was very familiar with.
As Hiruzen saw them step into the office, he put out his pipe and with a swift punch he immediately placed the office in lockdown, the security seals were active as the wall became covered in seals, "Now nobody can hear what you have to say, and there is no need to hide your face, you can remove your masks, don't fret, I happen to know every single person who enters and becomes ANBU, I am present to every single entrance exam after all, and I know you two are not really ANBU, so care to explain why you dressed like that?"
Naruto could not help but laugh, even on another planet Jiji Sarutobi was still able to decypher and figure things out with so little information, he always found this amazing growing up, "Technically speaking Jiji, what you said is correct and wrong at the same time, both Sasuke and I are ANBU, but not ANBU from this world, we are perfect clones of ourselves and all clones were sent into a place called a multiverse, a place where hundreds if not thousands of other realities can be traveled into. As for our plans, we plan to help these two alternate versions of ourselves, even if in this universe they happen to be our opposite gender, we also plan to help you with information and actually help you to prepare for a danger no one in this world knows that it is coming, and it will not negotiate, will not consider peace, they want to devour all life in the universe, for their selfish desire to attain godhood."
Hiruzen couldn't believe what he was hearing, someone managed to perfect the shadow clone's technique to the extent that they became perfect clones of the person who used the technique, something not even the Second Hokage could ever figure out how to do. The reason why he knew this was even more simple, Hiruzen had been a student under the Second Hokage when he was part of a Genin team.
"So you have skills equal to that of a Jounin, but you seem shocked when you found out that the person whom you went to help was not a boy as you first thought, why?" Naruto looked at him and simply said wouldn't he be shocked to find another person that is a version of himself but this version was the opposite gender? Sasuke is more than likely also shocked but at least he attempts to keep it hidden, since the one that is supposed to be him, is also another girl.
"You try to say whatever you like Dobe, I don't care. You just happen to still be angry that I looked in girls something beyond just physical beauty, but I had to say that being accused of being a fairy was not very polite or pleasing." Naruto laughed upon hearing his friend and told him that only happened because he turned down every single date request he ever received from a girl, of course, people are going to think Sasuke must be into men.
Sasuke quickly told him that the fact that the women he did eventually date and marry could each defeat an army says otherwise. "We have the memories of all of our fellow clones, we may be only two present but we are all connected, and thus we are Legion. As such we can share information with you Lord Hokage, things that will happen, things that you need to know and threats you need to prepare for, and how to fight those threats, I was the first person ever to master the Toad Sage Arts, and my friend here is a master of the Snake Sage Arts, to make matters even more interesting we have two of the most powerful Doujutsu that has ever existed, the Sharin-Rinnegan. If that is not enough, I am also the boy who loved you as my surrogate grandfather and do not wish for you to end your life the same way again."
Hiruzen looked at the young man and simply told him if he does consider him his grandfather why not remove the mask so that he can see the face of his own grandchild? As he asked, so it was done, Naruto removed his Fox Mask, and with a glance, Sasuke removed his Snake Mask as his friend asked him to do.
Hiruzen was beside himself, it was like staring at a person who was the spitting image of Minato, it was almost like Minato had returned back to life, with the same hair and eyes, if anything was different about him was the six whisker marks on his cheeks. "As you can see Jiji, we are not lying to you, to make one better, I am the Jinchuriki of every tail beast, all nine of them, and my friend here holds the ten tails."
