Chapter 10: 1889, The End (of Part 1)

Rainy was quite sceptical when they heard of Dio's demise. It was always unwise to conclude anything before being able to see bodies, she had learned. But there was no reason to voice their doubts if they didn't come true.

So, life went on and the wedding day of Jonathan and Erina came ever closer.

"He proposed to me right after defeating Dio," Erina told her friend when they were getting ready, "Still covered in bandages and everything. Speedwagon and I had to help him back up afterwards."

Rainy snorted, "That does sound like him."

Erina was now wearing the ruffled wedding dress that she had inherited from her late mother. Rainy, on the other hand, was wearing a suit to match Speedwagon's.

A knock sounded on the door, "You two ready?"

"We are!" Rainy called back as she left the room to join Speedwagon. Erina would wait for her father.

The two linked arms as they walked towards their positions. They had both been elected as witnesses.

The quiet chatter within the church slowly died down as the organ began to play. Heads turned when the doors opened and Erina was led by her father.

When the ceremony was over, the wedding party reconvened at the Pendleton estate. With the Joestar manor burnt to the ground and Erina an only child, the couple was set to inherit the latter's estate.

This was where Rainy decided to debut their son into society.

"And who is this?" asked Jonathan.

"This," Rainy announced dramatically, "Is my son."

Speedwagon dropped his teacup, "Your what-now?" He was looking between the hobbit and the person who was almost a meter taller than them.

"I'm Ambrose," they introduced themselves.

After a moment's hesitation, Jonathan stepped forward, "Call me JoJo," he offered his hand.

Ambrose looked at it in interest.

"Like this," Rainy demonstrated a handshake, "People say hello here like this. Personally, I just prefer to bow."

Ambrose nodded and shook Jonathan's hand.

"And these are Erina and Robby," Rainy introduced the other two, "We'll probably run into the others later," she looked around the venue.

"I prefer Speedwagon," the man nodded as he, too, shook Ambrose's hand. "So, how exactly did you come to be?"

Ambrose looked at the man in confusion. Although they were good at hiding it, they weren't fluent in English by any means.

Fondly remembered of early memories with Rainy, Speedwagon grinned, "Well, I suppose it doesn't matter. We should be enjoying the festivities!"

Erina nodded and began to pull Jonathan along, "We have to cut the cake, JoJo!"

"Alright, alright, I'm coming!" the blue-haired man laughed but didn't make a move to stop his eager wife from pulling at his arm.

Unbeknownst to any of the attendants, this would be the last time they would all be this happy together.

When Jonathan and Erina left for their honeymoon in the Americas, Rainy and Ambrose decided to leave England behind as well.

"Are you sure you have to leave?" Tattoo asked again.

"Well, I don't have to. But I want to! Zeppeli said it's where he learned hamon! They're probably gonna know a lot more cool things to do with it. And I bet they'll be interested in Ambrose as well. Plus, he might be able to learn hamon as well."

They were enveloped in a bear hug by the man, "You better come back soon!"

"I make no promises," the hobbit replied as they hugged him back.

When Tattoo let go of Rainy it was time to smother Ambrose, "Come on, little guy," he prompted before the hugging commenced.

"Do make sure we see you again," Speedwagon told them as they hugged as well.

"Don't worry, Robby, you won't be rid of me that easily."

After saying goodbye to Speedwagon once more, they turned to John. He wasn't overly fond of human contact and so just held out a package to them. Going by the smell of it, it was filled with food.

"I made this for your journey," he explained.

Rainy grinned, "We'll make sure to savour it!"

John nodded once and took a step back.

"Ready?" Rainy asked their son.

Ambrose nodded and the two boarded the ferry that would take them to the mainland. They had a long journey ahead of them to get to Italy.

Unbeknownst to the little family, underneath the Atlantic Ocean, Dio lay in his coffin. After having taken the body of Jonathan, he fell into a deep slumber.

While his body was unmoving, his mind was still conscious. If he ever escaped this watery prison, he'd be a changed man.

All that was clear at this moment, however, was that the world had not yet seen the end of Dio Brando.
