"Shower through there; I'll go and cook us something to eat," said Ron, and he left the bedroom and shut the door behind him after she had a shower, put on a full-length black dress, and returned to the kitchen and the best meal she had in a long time. Tara stayed up as long as she could until heading to bed; after changing into a nightie, Tara just sat on the bed and cried; how could she ever let Ronald go in the first place? She should have fought for him.

A Second Life

Chapter 2

The next day would be very different; life as he knew it was starting to look up. Ron took out the block of ice with his card inside before going to bed; he was thinking about why he had been so stupid as not knowing how much Tara Liked him in high school. If only there were a way to go back and start all over again.

The following morning, Ron placed the card into his wallet and made Tara a huge breakfast. He had just finished making Breakfast by the time she walked into the kitchen wearing the same nighty she found last night. As she ate, "Ronnie? Why are all those clothes in the cupboard black?" asked Tara

"Well … I don't know why! After the invasion, I found them in an abandoned shop and thought Kim might like them, but she never saw them. We could go to the department store and buy you new clothes if you don't like the color. Money is no option," said Ron.

"No, I love black, but I would like to get some underwear. I lost most of mine when I was mugged, and these are a little tight," said Tara.

"Okay, but then I like to check our old high school in the old Middleton area," said Ron

"Why? I thought the government abandoned it?" asked Tara

"They did, but I have just bought all the land that old Middleton high school is built on. I thought if I can rebuild it, then Kp may come back to me," said Ron

"Oh, Ronnie?"

"I know; call me sentimental if you like. But now that I found you, life can be a whole lot different," said Ron

"I know it will be; I won't leave you this time. Now eat up, and we can get started," said Tara. After Breakfast, the two spend most of the day in Go City shopping. Tara even spent some time in the beauty parlor getting make-up to look beautiful for Ron. The items they bought for her had to be delivered to the unit by a small truck the next day. That day was very busy for the two, and Ron spoiled her rotten.

Ron and Tara drove through the condemned parts of Middleton before they visited Tara's old home. Tara did find some of her old clothes, which still fit her. She even found items left behind when she and her mum left after the invasion. It was one of many places left untouched by the aliens and the homeless criminals who were in the area. Bonnie's place was in the same condition as Tara, and they found just as much left behind as well.

The next place was Kim's, but they only found a few broken pottery pieces. The Aliens destroyed her house during the invasion; since then, the house has been used as firewood. Kim's family did remove all their personal things before they, too, left.

Then they stopped at their old high school and began walking through the halls and classes, remembering the good old days. Some of the school buildings were still standing; many were still badly damaged and looked too spooky to enter. After the invasion, most residents left to either Go-city or the state completely. Those that wouldn't leave move to Upperton or Lowerton. Old Middleton, as this area was called, became the home of drunks, stoners, and the homeless, and Ron knew he had to get Tara out of there before dark.

The two walked through the school, checking out the canteen, the auditorium, and their old lockers. "I wish we knew what we know now back then," said Tara

"So do I; life would be very different than it has become," said Ron.

"I would have fought for you than just giving up," said Tara.

"Only if I understood that you had liked me back then as well," said Ron

"But I gave you plenty of signs I fancy you," said Tara

"But back then, I didn't understand girls at all," finished Ron. As the two checked their old lockers. Tara finds one of her old cheerleading uniforms still intact.

"Wow! It still here!" said Tara as she put it up against her, "And it looks like it still may fit,"

"Take it with you; love to see you in it when it's washed and repaired," said Ron.

"Oh, you kinky boy, I would love that," said Tara

"Let's go home; it's getting dark, and it's not safe to stay here at night," said Ron.

"I know," said Tara. Just as they stepped out of the door, they heard the tornado warning sirens blasting across new and old Middleton and wondered what was happening. Tara then yelled! "Ronnie, look!" she said, pointing to a giant yellowy-red fireball approaching them. Grabbing Tara and throwing her over his shoulder, he turned blue and ran as hard as he could until everything around them was encased in fire and smoke.

Ron and Tara woke up in a strange place; mountains were floating around the world. Planets of all shapes and sizes were visible. They were now standing on one of those Japanese floating gardens that were also floating around them. "Are we dead?" asked Tara

"I don't feel dead! But we were hit by that comet," said Ron.

"LOOK!" said Tara as she pointed through the clouds, showing all Middleton burning. Ron couldn't say anything. "What is happening? Why are we here?"

"I don't know! Maybe they may know?" said Ron as the two saw a long colorful dragon approaching.

"Who is that?"

"It looks like a monkey riding some sort of mystical Rainbow dragon," said Ron. As the Dragon came closer, they saw a monkey riding on his back. The Dragon stopped on the large floating garden rock where the two were standing on, and the Monkey jumped off the Dragon and stood in front of the two. Then the Dragon turned into a Panda and stood next to the Monkey.

"Hello, I am the Monkey King, and this is the Dragon Warrior," he said

"Hello, I am not well known in this world of humans as I am from another realm. I am known as the Dragon Warrior, and I am here by the will of the elders," said the Panda

"My name is Sun Wukong, and I am known by many names all over your world?" said Sun Wukong

"Better known as trickster god?" said Tara.

"How do you know me, girl?" said Wukong

"I looked you up on our internet from history gods at school," said Tara

"You must be that girl Tara that the gods told me about," Tara nodded. "Well, I am blessed to meet you. Now, before you ask, you are not dead, just in the spirit world," said Wukong

"Why are we here?" asked Ron

"We have been ordered to come to you and talk about your future or, should I say, your past. Many thousands of years ago, the old Elders removed my powers and placed them in the idols you destroyed. Then I was imprisoned in that comet that hit you. These so call old gods then selected you as their chosen one when my powers hit you, but because I wasn't there to teach you, they understood why you failed. So they decided to release me and call on the Panda to give you a choice," said Wukong

"Failed! But I stopped the invasion?" said Ron.

"Yes, you did, and the gods are happy about that. But you were meant to prevent the invasion from ever happening," said the Panda.

"But how could I have done that!" said Ron

"By ending those who brought them to earth," said the Panda

"Ending? What do you mean" asked Ron

"My powers would have helped you to remove the powers of the rainbow god, then those who called the aliens would have been imprisoned," said Wukong. As Ron was thinking this through, Tara asked.

"I don't understand why am I here?" said Tara

"You were selected to be the chosen one partner ever since your pre-k years!" said Wukong

"Partner!" said Ron

"What do you mean, Partner?" asked Tara.

"You both were meant to be together to execute punishment to those who do evil, but you both were distracted by Kim Possible and Bonnie Rockwaller," said the Panda.

"Okay, just wait a minute. Did you want us together since pre-k to execute the villains? But we were just kids then, and killing was still very wrong for us?" said Ron

"Who said anything about killing? Let me make this very clear! The idols gave you the powers to remove Shego's powers and prevented her from helping Drakken escape from prison," said Wukong more clearly this time, and Ron understood.

"I could have done that!" said Ron

"With some teaching, yes!" said Wukong

"That is the reason why we are all here now. The gods want to give you a second chance at another life! But it is your choice. You can return to the past and fix the timeline! Or continue with this timeline and help repair your world," said the Panda

"What about Kim and Bonnie? Will they still be with us?" asked Tara

"That will depend on the two of you; if you want them in your lives to help you as soldiers, or you can have them slaves?" said Wukong.

"Slaves?" said Tara

"Will I still have my MMP if we start again?" asked Ron

"Not until you are zapped with those powers again, but this time! Do not destroy the idols! Then I will be able to instruct and give both of you your reward," said Wukong

"To help you this time, the elders agree that you will still have your memories and skills of your old timeline if you decide to return and start again, but please use them well," said the Panda.

"Do you want to start over?" asked Ron to Tara

"Will my father be alive if we go back?" asked Tara

"Everything in the past will stay the same up to the point you return," said the Panda, and Tara hung her head; her father had died before she was born, so it didn't matter how far she went back; he would still be dead.

"In that case, I will do anything Ron wants," said Tara

"I have no memory of Tara being at Pre-k with me then, maybe because I was to focus on Kp. So this time, I would like to go back and be with Tara more than Kp," said Ron

"Then so be it," said the Panda, and he slapped his hands together, and everything turned into all the colors of the rainbow, and the two disappeared from the spirit world.
