With their new crew mates settled in Tadashi and Thrall returned from the surface. Entering the bridge Tadashi tossed aside his coat shivering as he sat down. "Remind me I'm only going down there once a year got it?" He said mouth still chattering
"Stop crying it isn't even that cold. " Vanessa said rolling her eyes. "I spent a year in Earth's artic as a teen Andoria is only a tad colder well right now" she laughed. Earning a soft glare from Tadashi. "You can be mean sometimes you know that... now everyone's on board let's get going to Bajor so we can start working again" he commanded, spinning in her chair Vanessa worked her console. "Yes boss laying in for bajor warp 8 ah warp 8 wouldn't ever get that from the Hayashi one." She said. "Warp 7 will be nice let's not exhaust our new ship she ain't exactly new new you know she's got a lot of light-years on her"
With a days travel Tadashi took the opportunity to get in a nap with thrall. Sato had gone down to sickbay to meet Lylwat and Xall and Zack were keeping the core going smoothly. Soon enough they were docked with deep space nine.
Xall and Zack had gone off to speak with the stations quartermaster about some supplies, Lylwat was meeting with one of the Bajoran nurses about medical supplies while Vanessa went off to Quarks. They may be doing cargo runs but that didn't stop Vanessa from finding out about anything interesting
Tadashi and Thrall meanwhile went to meet with a officer of the commerce ministry who was onboard the station. Settled into a conference room the officer was reviewing their application
"A Miranda class vessel. That's a starfleet class correct?" He asked. "Yes sir she was given to us by starfleet as a reward for us returning a lost starship she was due to be scrapped but was given to us instead, shes still in great shape runs well and can do warp 8" Tadashi said proudly
"Hmm and ample cargo space as I see. Well Mr Ito I'll say you certainly have a ideal vessel to compliment our cargo fleet. Most of our freighters can't do more then warp 5 or 6. So that gives you an advantage. Not to mention the deep space range of such a ship however I am hesitant with it being a Federation vessel and that is this is your first time running frieght you'll understand I'll need to confirm that the vessel is indeed yours before I can make a official decision but so far everything else looks great. You certainly have experience in deep space being a former salvager. If everything comes back legit your first job will be running medical supplies to the new bajor colony in the gamma quadrant. That is another plus on your side not many are eager for jobs taking them through the wormhole. I'll have my decision In a hour enjoy your stay on ds9" he said. Nodding Tadashi stood with thrall. "Thank you for your time sir.". Stepping back into the corridor Tadashi exhaled. "I think that went well don't you?" He asked "yep we got this one for sure there's no way they're gonna turn is down with just a quick confirm with the admiral once the know the Hayashi is legally ours we're all set. C'mon I'll buy you a drink at Quarks"
At Quarks Vanessa was leaned against the counter as Tadashi and Thrall entered. Approaching her mid conversation. "2 slips of latinum and you tell me where you heard about it...and if we find anything good I may cut you in" Vanessa said to Quark whom laughed. "4 strips and I may remember" he answered. Reaching out Vanessa gently ran her fingers along the lobes of the Ferengis ear. "How about one strip and I don't stop for a minute ?"
Quark was melting like butter shivering and gasping. "Deal" he whispered out. Both Tadashi and Thrall had a grossed out look on their faces "seriously?" He said Vanessa standing up. "What? I was negotiating some information" she said "yes very good negotiating butt out!" Quark snapped grabbing at Vanessas hand. "One minuet?" He asked with Vanessa rolling her eyes and continuing what she had been doing And quark quickly melting against the bar once more.
Thrall and Tadashi took themselves to a open table and ordered drinks from one of the waiters. Vanessa joined shortly after with both men staring at her
"Vanessa what the fuck?" Thrall commented. "Look we're going into the gamma quadrant for the first time and I wanted a little information. I know we're doing cargo runs but that doesn't mean we can't do a little salvaging on the way back. Quark graciously gave me some discounted information on some unclaimed debris fields near the Bajoran colony as well as a rumoured derelict freighter a ferengi merchant ship picked up on outside explored sectors.. now I don't know what it was carrying or what type but if it's intact and repairable. Tadashi freighters do go for a nice amount if they work if it's unclaimed we could easily sell it off to any number of worlds for a decent price" she said
"Uh-huh...no Vanessa last time we found a derlict ship we all nearly died im interested in the debris and shit but abandoned ships no not anymore" Tadashi said. "Oh come on we could at least take a quick look... If we think it's to dangerous we can leave just a look please? I know we need money but I didn't sign up for cargo running I signed up to find old abandoned ships " she pleaded. "please? We actually have a ship that'll get us out that far. "
Tadashi sighed pondering the idea before giving a shrug "fine we'll take a look but I'm telling you V Im not doing another ghost ship haunted by a violent entity. " He said "YES! " Vanessa exclaimed earning looks from various other patrons. At that moment a Bajoran officer approached "excuse me Mr Ito you have a message from the Bajoran ministry of commerce they've reached a decision for you" the officer said. "they said your application was approved and to report to Bajor by tomorrow morning to review your contract and to load your cargo"
Tadashi grinned and stood up shaking the man's hand "great! Thank you very much!" He said Turning to his crew. "Vanessa go find Xall and the others and we'll celebrate with a drink " he said Vanessa nodding and heading off.
"This may be the start of something new for us Thrall. I hope it goes well"
