Much against his will Tadashi was dragged into the transporter room. Joining them was Xall and Sato "ok I get why Xall wants to go but Sato no... Thralls kicking my ass over there but I don't want you coming" Tadashi said strapping on a phaser and tricorder attached to a belt. "I've studied alot on the Borg and their technology. I think I'm the closest thing we have to a expert and honestly I need to do something" he said "Sato I said no" Tadashi stood firm "and I said I'm going! I'm tired of being the useless one around here! Always stuck pushing buttons watching the ship moving the cargo while you and Vanessa and Thrall go out make deals handle the fun stuff! I'm fucking tired of it!" He yelled "I'm going or I'm gonna punch you in your fucking dick!" He then took his place up on the transporter padd leaving thrall and Tadashi speachless. Xall meanwhile slid past them and onto the transporter. "If your family squabbles are finished I much like to carry on with our mission and free this freighter from it's cybernetic clutches. Let us go gentlemen!"
Vanessa entered the room sipping coffee as she took place at the controls. "You four don't have to much fun and if you need help kicking Borg ass call me. Only reason I'm sticking round is cause Sato asked nicely.. ok byeeee" she said energizing before Tadashi could sass back.
The golden blue beams deposited the four adventurers in the middle of a pitch black corridor with them all activating wrist lights. "My when they say no power they do mean no power" Xall commented taking out a tricorder "still a atmosphere within though so that's a plus but these power conduits are completely dead" he continued. "It's hot as fuck In here I can barely breath" thrall said. "that's a Borg ship for you. Their often warm" Sato commented
"Well. Where do we start where are we even at? " Tadashi asked. "If I'm not mistaken we are not far from the center hanger. There should be a variety of catwalks and walkways that should lead us . This way" Sato said as he began to lead them. Along the way Tadashi made note of the various bodies of deceased drones they were stepping over. "Wonder what killed them.. what shut down a entire Borg vessel" he said "any number of things honestly the Borg aren't indestructible as much as it may seem." Xall said. "Perhaps I should have consulted Lylwat perhaps something aboard the frieghter brought about their demise" he continued. "Oh great virus's and diseases that's what I need! Fuck you Thrall!" Tadashi said punching his boyfriend in the arm. "Shut up oh my god. We're here might as well push on" thrall said .
The soon came to a four way corridor and we're taken back by a stumbling drone "we are Borg...we are Borg...assimilate...unknown. Assimilate must comply" it spoke in a raspy voice as Tadashi shakingy reached for his phaser
Thrall stepped in and stopped the drone pushing it against the wall shining it's light in it's face as it winced. A fearful expression on it's face
"Identify!" It commanded as thrall looked to Tadashi then Sato "it looks like he's disconnected from the collective he's confused" Sato said as the drone struggled and pushed against thrall who pushed back
"What happened to this ship" thrall asked firmly and Tadashi was ready with his weapon. He didn't trust this drone to not snap and attack them but right now it seemed more scared then anything
"Comply!" Thrall said his tone dropping as the Drone visibly winced "unknown life form detected in grid 77653. Sphere S-1173893 dispatched to investigate. Dominon freighter detected vessel brought in for assimilation. Unknown life form detected in subjunction 6973. Cascading power failure followed collective link severed unable to function!" It rambled off before sinking to the floor
"My golly the poor thing doesn't know it's up from down. I would say it poses no threat and drone or not it is a humanoid in need of our help.. " Xall said as Sato moved over and kneeled beside the drone gently reaching out . The drone looked young probably around his age and certainly a humanoid species. their eyes made contact and Sato gazed for a moment before standing back up and looking at his brother. "Let's help him.. please?" He asked
"Sato no... I'm not risking taking a Borg drone onto the Hayashi... But I can tell starfleet about it giving help to severed drones and rehabilitating them is their job. Besides they'll want to investigate this ship and possibly destroy it... Let's keep going to the frieghter so we can get out of here" Tadashi said
"Brother we can't just leave him... He's scared.." Sato began. "He's a drone Sato he hasn't been a person for a long time believe me if this ship powers up or they link up somehow he'll kill you without any hesitation" Tadashi said coldly "I didn't realize my brother had become a heartless prick..." Sato spat out and that stung Tadashi hard "ok guys let's not argue... Tadashi we could beam him into one of the brig's. Let Lylwat sedate him till we get him to ds9..yeah?" He said trying to offer a compromise
Tadashi sighed "fine but I want Vanessa keeping a eye on him. I know these things have locator beacons on them for recovery have Zack find a way to disable it to... This ship coming to life is one thing to be afraid of but it's big brother the cube coming to find it is what I'm terrified about. Borg recover their ships" Tadashi said then tapped at a combadge "Vanessa... Lock onto this locator I'm placing on a Borg drone we found... It's severed from the collective and Sato wants a new pet.. beam it to the brig and have Lylwat and Zack head down there I want it's locator beacon disabled and the drone sedated"
There was a pause "didn't realize we were a drone shelter for lost Borg but ok" ah that typical Vanessa sass as the drone vanished in a blue beam.and Sato hugged Tadashi "thank you" he whispered. "Thank me later the faster we get outta here the better now let's go"
