Tracy's Heart

Chapter 1: Little Girl
Tracy Anderson had just turned three, and her parents, Kurt and Blaine, were throwing her a birthday party. Soon, Tracy's uncle, Noah Puckerman, entered wearing cut-off shorts and green body paint. Tracy nicknamed him Uncle Hulk after witnessing his temper on her second birthday. The moment Tracy saw Noah, everyone else might as well have been on Mars as far as Tracy was concerned.
As Noah tossed Tracy into the air, Quinn Puckerman, Noah's wife; Beth Corcoran, Noah's daughter; Burt Hummel, Kurt's father; and Rachel St. James, Tracy's mother, chuckled as Kurt said, "Oh, no, not Puck! Couldn't you like anyone else, Tracy?" Beth then elbowed him as they watched Tracy and Noah play.
Beth looks at Blaine as she tells Kurt, "Tracy, look at Daddy Puck. When was the last time you saw him that happy?" Kurt glances at Quinn, who is hiding behind Burt but says nothing. Soon, Noah falls to the floor, clutching his chest while still holding Tracy.
He soon wakes up in the ICU and sees Quinn holding Tracy as she cries. Noah then reaches out for Tracy and says, "Tree, see." The doctor soon informs Quinn that Noah suffered a stroke and that half of his face is now paralyzed.
Noah and Tracy cried themselves to sleep, then woke up in a hospital room and saw Quinn asleep on the couch. They heard a toilet flush before Burt exited and told Noah, "Puck, your mom, and Sarah are on their way."
Burt looks at Tracy as he continues, "Quinn said Kurt asked him if you two could move in with them, and they thought someone would miss you too much if you returned to Lima." Tracy glares at Burt as Noah chuckles. Noah and Tracy argue in Hebrew as Quinn wakes up.
Quinn chuckles and whispers to Burt, "I'm glad we're all in Washington. Beth thinks Puck needs Tracy, and so do I. Plus, I think Tracy has Puck whipped." Burt chuckles and elbows her as Noah and Tracy continue their argument.
When Norah and Sarah Puckerman arrived an hour later, Noah and Tracy were still arguing. Norah asked Quinn, "So, how long has Tracy been trying to convince Puck that he's a hero and not a loser?"
Quinn chuckles and says, "For about an hour, Puck could only speak clearly in Hebrew, and Tracy's been yelling at him since he woke up."
Tracy searched through Quinn's purse and then handed Noah a compact mirror. She shouted, "Hulk, hero!" as Noah looked at himself in the mirror. Meanwhile, Beth sneaked into the bathroom, hiding herself from Noah's view, and motioned for Quinn and Norah to follow her.
She quickly said, "Mom said I can stay for the summer. We already planned this before Tracy's birthday, but she didn't get to talk to you about it. I told her, I'll go back with Rachel if you aren't okay with this."
Quinn hugged Beth and said, "I'm okay with it, but Tracy might not like it."
Beth looks at Tracy as she says, "She'll get over it. He is my dad, and somebody has to help Kurt keep Tracy away from Daddy Puck."
Nora elbows Beth and says, "Yeah, well, I doubt anyone can keep those two apart."
Noah soon noticed Beth and said something in Hebrew to Tracy. Tracy says, "He wants to talk to Beth and wants Grandpa Burt and his mom to stay. Mama Rachel or Queenie can stay, but he just wants Grandpa Burt and his mom here."
Tracy had her sit by Noah's bed and said, "Sorry, Beff."
Beth glanced at Tracy and said, "No, I'm sorry, Daddy Puck. I shouldn't have tried to shut you out. I want to make it up to you by spending the summer getting to know each other better."
She glanced at Tracy and joked, "If Mama Tracy lets me."
Everyone but Tracy laughs, and Noah says, "Chill, Lil She-Hulk."
Beth sat on Noah's hospital bed and put Tracy on her lap as she told him, "I had plans to spend the summer with you before this happened. Mommy was going to tell you at the party, but we didn't get to. If you want me to go back with Rachel, I will."
Noah glares at Tracy and asks, "Are you cool with that?"
Tracy pouted and said, "If it helps you, I'm okay with it."
She hugs him and says, "I'm sorry, you remind me of my Grandpa Burt now." Burt chuckles as Noah glares at Tracy before they argue in Hebrew again.
Rachel and Norah chuckle as they glance at each other. Then Rachel says, "Puck is trying to tell Tracy he is nothing like Burt, and she is making a good argument about how he is like Burt." Burt says nothing but crosses his arms and glares at Tracy and Puck.
Tracy puts her hand up to avoid looking at Burt as she tries not to laugh; meanwhile, the others notice Burt acting the same way during the argument. As it continues, Tracy points to Burt and says, "Look!"
Noah and Burt chuckle. Then Burt shows Norah a picture Noah posted on Facebook of himself holding two guns, wearing the same clothes Burt has on. He chuckles and says, "He posted this on my page on Kurt's birthday as a joke, and Blaine spent a week trying to get him to take it down."
Norah glanced at Noah and said, "When the others saw that picture on your page, they started calling him Mr. P because they call you Mr. H. Puck went from being compared to his dad to being compared to you. Tracy was the only one who saw him as someone other than you or his dad."
Noah starts to cry and hugs Tracy tightly. She says, "Noah's upset because he fears he will die like Grandpa Burt's first wife. He doesn't think anyone will see him as anything else but a loser, and he doesn't want to be worse than Uncle Artie. He couldn't feel his legs and peed himself when Beth sat on the bed. He's wearing a diaper, but I don't know why."
After a nurse changed Noah's diaper, Quinn and Norah spoke with a doctor. Then Quinn said, "You said his face was only affected."
The doctor looked at Noah and said, "He peed himself twice while we were running the tests to see what was wrong. I told his dad and thought he would tell you." They glanced toward Burt but said nothing as the doctor left.
Quinn soon walks out and begins walking around the hospital. Burt and Norah find her looking at some babies through a window in the NICU. Quinn sees Burt's reflection, but sees Noah instead, as she starts singing along with Shania Twain's "The Woman in Me" as it plays on the radio. When Quinn sees Burt and not Noah, she breaks down, and Burt comforts her.
They returned to Noah's hospital room and heard Tracy and Noah arguing. Soon they noticed Carole, Santana, Rachel, and Blaine standing by Noah's bedside. Santana had Burt go back outside, and she told him, "Brittany is at Kurt's; all this made her think of Finn, and she couldn't take it. Tina and Artie will be back in a couple of days. Artie thought Puck would end up in a wheelchair like him and thought Puck might want to talk with someone older than Tracy." She looked away and said, "I lost Finn. Mr. H. Puck is my best friend; I can't lose him, too."
Burt sighs and says, "Puck is a tough guy; I doubt he will let this get him down for long." As they go back into Noah's hospital room, they hear Quinn singing along to Hold My Hand by Lady Gaga as it plays on her phone while Noah cries until he eventually falls asleep.
When Noah woke up, he found Beth and Tracy on either side of him in bed. Quinn then emerged from the bathroom and said, "The others are at Kurt's, and Mr. H went to get some coffee."
Beth soon wakes up and looks at Tracy as she tells Noah, "Blaine tried to get her to go home, but she refused to and said she wasn't leaving until the doctor says you can go home."
She chuckles and continues, "I nicknamed her Mini-Me because I think she acts like me."
Noah looked at Quinn and said, "Tell Kurt I'm sorry. I love Tracy too."
He looked at Beth and said, "I'm sorry, Beth. Tracy became your substitute. She was here, and you were in New York. She saw me and didn't judge. I didn't have to prove myself to her. Quinn saw husband; friends saw Mr. H; Mom saw dad; Lima saw loser; and she saw me." Then Quinn went to the bathroom and broke down.
As she exited the bathroom, Burt had her come with him to the cafeteria. They sat at a table near a window in the hospital cafeteria. Then Burt said, "When I brought Kurt to see Elizabeth, I cried in the bathroom a lot. Kurt only saw what I wanted him to see. It wasn't until he started high school that I couldn't control my emotions anymore."
He takes Quinn's hand and says, "I don't know if Puck will live, but we can't lose hope, Quinn."
Looking out the window, Quinn says, "When you had your heart attack, I told Kurt to not lose his faith. Now, I get why he became an atheist."
She sighed, looked at Burt, and broke down again, saying, "Rachel lost Finn; you lost Kurt's mom; and Mrs. H lost Finn and his dad. I know you've moved on, but I don't want to lose Puck. I can't lose him! When I saw him with Tracy and Beth earlier, I thought of what Kurt went through while you were in the hospital. As Kurt did, I don't want Tracy to stop believing in God." Soon, Burt hugged Quinn and noticed Norah on the phone, yelling at someone.
Although he couldn't hear what was being said, he knew she had to be talking to Quinn's parents. Soon, Santana approached them and took Quinn back to Noah's hospital room while looking at Burt. Then Norah stormed in and saw Burt. She sighed and said, "Carole told me about what you went through with your former in-laws. Quinn's parents want her to return to Lima alone."
To be continued in Chapter 2. Judge not, that you be not judged. I know what Mark did was unforgivable, and as I said. I wouldn't be a good Christian if I continued to judge people who died over their sins in life.
