Yes, we have a lot of problems, but we have a reason why. We have the Zealots of the Order to the Western Borders, and the Hedonistic Mamonos to our North Eastern Border. Hence our Military have the SRD, Army, Navy, Air Force, Anti Corruption Unit or ACU, and the Militia.
The SRD or the Strategic Response Division are the Special Forces Units are the equivalent of the Israeli's Sayeret Matkal, that was deployed to rescue any Zievians that are kidnapped by Dark Elves or Forcefully Recruited by the Order Inquisition. They can also be deployed to protect any villages, towns or small cities if the Army is not available, both Army and Militia are in need of reinforcements or the Local Militia have been compromised. And can do excursions in our neighbor's' territorial areas.
The Regular Forces of Zievian Federation was what you can consider the average Modern Day Bundeswehr. While there's still conscription, it was often after they've completed their education. Their role was to protect our territory and our border from our neighbors. However, after the Remilitarization has been approved, they were allowed to do excursions to save any Zievians that were captured and can even join forces with the SRD. The same case can be said with our Navy and our Air Force. As our Navy have to watch the seas and coastline for any Mamono of Poseidon. And our Air Force, dealing with Dragons and Hordes of Birds.
Our Militia Forces, often either too far from our City State or often have to rely on Muskets or Spears... We managed to provide them weapons from Konstantinov Concern. Or our world equivalent of Kalashnikov Concern of your world.
As for the Anti Corruption Unit, you could consider them as the Anti Corruption Bureau on Steroids. They hunt down, any extremist group, that's either a Pro-Order or Pro-Mamono. Including hunting down anyone powerful that abuses their own people. Hence our... complicated relationship with our own Civil Rights.
Our Economy is Very Strong, along with out Political Freedom, although for the case of Civil Rights... It's a bit complicated...
Due to our recent conflicts with the Demon Realm's Hedonists and the Order Religious Extremists... I bet they've followed up on their technology in order to gain a leverage against us. Hence we also advanced in technological advancement.
We might be alone in this world... As we might be the only nation and organization, that focus on technological innovation and progress...
Who knows... We might get lucky to meet a nation that also have the same values and technological capabilities.
