Legion's Reign Season 01 Episode 02
"These Belts are pretty cool how they let us breathe in space." Albedo stated about what they were doing while flying over to the creature they were supposed to deal with. "Hey are those ships inside of that thing?"
"Ya, Mal really knows his stuff. That thing by the way, is a Mortsacs and those things will eat anything." Lightning Lad spoke blasting at the thing as it had reflected his attack back at them.
"It's ugly is what it is." Albedo stated back to them about the creature while dodging their attacks.
"Haven't you two got rid of that thing yet?" Saturn Girl questioned from inside the ship while the two were dealing with the creature.
We then see Albedo and Lightning Lad on a screen as the Mortsacs wrapped a tentacle around the orange haired hero and dragged him away as Saturn Girl had been watching and put her hand on her face. They'd then gotten some sort of alarm going off on another monitor inside the ship.
"What's going on?" Bouncing By questioned about who was setting off the alarm while walking over to Mal.
"We are recieving a Transmission on the emergency channel, look." Mal stated in response pulling up the feed onto the larger screen.
A scientist had appeared on the feed stating "Legion of Superheroes, this is Mar Londo on Raal please I need your immediate assistance." Before the feed then cut.
"Guys, forget globby and get back on the ship we have a mission." Saturn Girl called out as we cut back to Albedo and Lightning Lad fighting the thing.
"Alright enough playing around then." Albedo called out hitting the Duotrix and changing forms calling out "Fourarms!" as he did so before then grabbing the tentacles and tying them together then swung them around in a circle and then let go hurling it out into space away from everyone.
"Couldn't you have done that in the first place?" Lightning Lad questioned as they were flying back into the ship.
"Where's the fun in that?" Fourarms questioned as they both entered back in and went to meet back up with the others.
When they'd gotten up there they'd seen Mal trying to mess with the controls that Bouncing Boy was at and in a near blinding green flash Albedo returned to his normal form calling out "MAL, Leave him be. He's a big boy he doesn't need auto compensators."
"Just gotta.." Mal spoke pushing one of the buttons and the console beeped with him then stating "Uh oh.." and the ship then began to spin out of control.
"That felt like we hit something." Saturn Girl states to them about what just happened while trying to get back up.
"Technically we did, the planet Raal. We've just entered the atmosphere." Malware 7 answered back as Bouncing Boy went off to the controls.
"Buckle up everyone, it's gonna be a bumpy one!" Bouncing Boy called out as they'd basically crash down onto the planet even hitting a rock formation by mistake.
They'd all had to use the flight rings to get out of the ship because of the way it had been sticking from the ground and got out to assess the damage. "I've seen worse." Albedo stated first flying around the ship.
"Uh, maybe we should focus on the rescue mission first then worry about the ship." Lightning Lad suggested and they flew off.
The others followed but Saturn Girl felt like something was watching but quickly flew off to catch up with the others. "Raal is filled with various wildlife that most would classify as unfriendly. Asside from Doctor Londo's research station little else is here." Mal stated to them about the situation.
"There's too much noise for me to find them but back at the ship I'm pretty sure something was watching us." Saturn Girl stated to the group about what's going on.
"Found it, follow me." Albedo told them flying off towards the facility and landed down on the ground next to it with the others following.
A gate opened up and the man from the transmission says "Thank you for coming Legionairs, please come inside." leading them into a large chamber before stating "My repair facility is at your disposal but I ask one thing in return. Make it safe for me to continue my research here."
"Safe, from what?" Saturn Girl questioned just what exactly it was that he needed protection from.
"A creature out there. This creature has destroyed everything dear to me. My research, my team.. my son." He'd explained showing them a holographic photo. "That's Brin, remarkable young man, takes after his father. He had so much potential but now.. I want it caught and I want it brought back to me."
"We'll find your creature and make sure it never hurts anyone again." Lightning Lad spoke telling him that they would do it.
While Bouncing Boy and Mal stayed behind to fix their ship Albedo went with Saturn Girl and Lightning Lad, the latter of the three stating "Y'know you two have been awefully question back there. You're not scared are you?"
"I'm fine!" Saturn Girl snapped at him, though the two turned to look at her as she sighs and says "I'm sorry okay, remember when I said I couldn't get anything? That wasn't exactly true. I've been getting impressions, sound really as if hundred of lifeforms are calling out for help. Something's going on here. Something bad."
"Well considering the Good Doctor was lying to us I have to agree with you." Albedo stated in response to them.
"How do you know he was lying?" Lightning Lad questioned discovering something and picking up a sparking machine part. "Check this out, think our creature did this?
"Probably, as for the Doc I've been trained by the best to learn when someone's lying." Albedo answered back.
A bunch of machines with spider-like legs appeared and Lightning Lad blasted one of them wth the machines then going to attack getting closer in retaliation for attacking the one that he did, and so they'd had to start fighting them. The Machines were a little more difficult to deal with than they were expecting and Saturn Girl had to created a psychic blast around her before dropping onto the ground.
A strange creature had attacked the machines that were closing in letting out a sort of howl before snarling and bashing and slashing the machines appart with it's claws and the guys had tried t rush over but both the creature and Saturn Girl were gone when they got there.
Saturn Girl had woken up next to a fire alongside the creature who seemed to be tryng to communicate and she tried to read it's mind seeing the doctor and a bunch of animals along with some sort of experiment as the creature roared out in anger at what she's seen.
"What have they done to you?" She questioned standing up in surprise while backing away slightly.
"Get away from her!" A voice called out as we see Lightning Lad and Albedo flying towards the creature.
"Lightning Lad STOP!" Albedo called getting between them to keep him from blasting the creature that was there in front of them.
"Why should I after he attacked Saturn Girl!?" Questioned the orange haired individual about why he should stop.
"Because he didn't attack me, he attacked the robots around me and brought me to safety." Saturn girl explained to them about what's going on.
"He kinda looks like a Lunar Loboan." Albedo stated about the creature and it just looked at him confused. "I'll explain later. Any luck figuring out what's going on?"
We move back to Mal who'd been finishing repairs on his own and begins to go to leave to find bouncing boy who calls "Hey, a little help here?" being tied up by some robots.
Mal extended his fingers and zapped them all releasing Bouncing Boy and then helping him up "What happened?"
"You aren't going to like this." Answered Bouncing Boy as he got up and led him over to a lab where a lot of different species were in cages. "Don't leave the Hanger huh? I can see why."
"I assume we'll be snooping?" Mal questioned looking at Bouncing Boy who'd gotten a mischevious look on his face.
"Oh yea." Bouncing Boy answered back and the two began to snoop around as we return to the others.
The others had contacted Mal and Bouncing Boy Psychicly and they'd come to their location where the creature was and we then see they were about to try to get through to the creature.
"We need him as calm as possible so put your fists down." Saturn Girl told Lightning Lad and began to try to connect with the creature again.
She'd seen the Doctor doing some sort of experiment and the creature strapped to a table with all kinds of other species all around them and saw an arm that had been human looking suddenly growing their nails into claws and their arm growing dark fur over it.
The creature let out a howl as Saturn Girl calls out "You aren't a monster, you have control, cocentrate!"
The creature had began to shrink down to a more humanoid form as Malware 7 says "Interesting, he must have been in some sort of super agitated state." while poking the now shrunken down creature.
The creature let out a groan and looked up at the questioning "Do you mind?" while looking annoyed at them and Mal couldn't help himself but to poke him again making them growl and he'd stopped pulling his hands away.
"Do you, have a name?" Bouncing Boy questioned the guy wondering if his species did the naming thing.
"His name is Brin." A voice called as they saw various creatures along with Dr. Lono standing there. "Brin Londo, welcome home son. Well done Legion, I could have never brought him back on my own."
"You aren't bringing him back at all." Albedo stated stepping between them as Brin had began growling at them.
"Brin, don't let him get to you, you're the one in control." Saturn Girl spoke as Brin nodded in response calming down and smiling at her.
"You leave me no choice then. Take them all!" Dr. Mar Londo called out to his beasts and to his robots as they charged at the others.
"Let me show you a real monster." Albedo spoke hitting the Duotrix and changing into the form of a werewolf like creature with a double jointed snout that he split open in front of them calling "Lycanthrowler!"
"Oh that is so gross." Lightning Lad spoke seeing Lycanthrowler splitting his snout and jaw down the middle instead of opening it normally.
Lycanthrowler then let out a sonic howl that knocked away all of the beasts as he'd moved his head to look at all of them. He then snapped his snout shut again charging at the robots and slashing through them with his claws ripping their heads off from the neck joints and snarling like a mad beast before looking up at Mar baring his fangs at them growling out at him.
Dr. Londo having seen this used his hover device to fly back to the base as quick as he could and rushed inside. Once in the lab he disengaged the systems lock and released the beasts who decided they should attack him instead. Brin had come in with the heroes group and let out a snarling roar making the beasts all back up.
"Better start talking Doc, or should we just let you get eaten?" Lightning Lad spoke as Lycanthrowler and Brin both let out dangerous growls.
"Alright, what should we talk about first, my creations perhaps? All of them perfect specimins, marvels of nature but not quite human enough. No I needed a better subject for my crowning achievement." The Doctor stated looking over at Brin with a smug sense of worth.
"So you used your own son as a test subject?" Saturn Girl asked, though it was more like a statement than a question.
"To see him transformed into the most formidable creature ever created for battle. He should be thanking me." Mar stated to them about what he's done showing no remorse.
"The Legion will help him learn to control this power." Saturn Girl stated stepping between Brin and Mar while glaring at the latter of the two.
"What about him?" Bouncing Boy questioned looking at the others while gesturing over to the Mad Doctor.
"This sector is outside of any Jurisdiction. Not even intergalactic law can touch me and why would they? My work is a gift I create life." Mar stated to them clearly having no remorse for everything he's done.
"What you create is suffering, and the forest out there is filled with it. Children expect their parents to protect them, the only thing I've ever been to you is a science experiment. Your own son!" Brin stated angry and then began to break everything he could before taking a deep breath to calm down stating "Never again."
"A thought occoured." Lycanthrowler stated to the group while looking around the room. "There's no law here right?"
"Ya.. but we don't kill." Malware 7 stated back jumping to conclusions about what Albedo might be thinking.
"What no, who said anything about that? I got a more fun idea. Let's shove this bastard into the Null Void!" Lycanthrowler stated confusing them even more.
"The Null what now?" Bouncing Boy questioned not having heard of that which made them sigh about the others looking confused.
"I'll show you." Lycanthrowler stated hitting the Duotrix symbol and in an almost blinding flash changed into a little red devil-like creature in an old timy aviation outfit. "Juryrigg!" he'd then called out and began letting out a mischevious laugh before calling "Break, breakbreakbreak break!" while starting to tear stuff apart in the lab.
"Uh, what are you doing?" Lightning Lad questioned confused about just what exactly he thought he was doing.
"Fix, fix, fixfixfix!" Juryrigg answered back starting to put random stuff together before then changing to human again and tossed what he'd built over to Brin. "Pull the Trigger and stand back, won't kill him but it'll sure teach him a lesson."
Brin looked at the device and pulled the trigger as it let out a blast that tore open a portal as a strange mass of tentacles grabbed Mar and pulled him inside since he was the closest and he'd let go after being caught off guard making the portal close. "What.. was that?"
"A Null Guardian." Albedo stated casually picking up the projector gun he'd build with a shrug. "The Galvans discovered an empty pocket dimension and built a prison there. The Null Guardians are supposed to help keep them locked up, place eventually became a prison colony."
"May I study that?" Mal questioned curious about just what the Null Void and the projector were and how they worked.
Albedo tossed him the projector to check out and they'd all left the facility and were able to get airborne and headed off back into space with Bouncing Boy questioning "What do you think?" as Brin had a new orange and dark red almost brown costume on.
"It's a little tight." Brin answered while opening and closing his hand trying to get used to how it feels.
"You'll get used to it, so you ready?" Lightning Lad stated opening up a box with the belt and ring set in it.
Brin put the ring and belt on and held up his right hand with some other members of the legion on the screens and says "To the Legion of Superheroes I make this solom pledge. To use my powers for good. To fight for justice and to protect the innocent. To aid my fellow Legionnaires in times of peril and to keep their secrets safe. I choose a new name to honor the heroes of the past I am Timber Wolf."
