Legion's Reign Season 01 Episode 03
Lightning Lad was in racing gear standing next to a vehicle as Albedo walked over alongside Phantom Girl while looking around at the massive floating structure that had crowds of people all over it.
"Impressive turnout." Albedo stated looking at the crowd that was all around them at the moment.
"Ya, the crowds love me." Lightning Lad stated in response while waving around to the various viewers as Phantom Girl looked unimpressed.
"Must be the altitude." Phantom Girl stated as they'd seen the Diplomatic Skybox had arrived and the Announcers had been talking about it.
"We've got a lot of atheltes out there but we know who's got this Dodecathalon in the bag. From the Planet Winath it's Mekt Ranzz." They Announcers spoke suprising Lightning Lad to hear the name.
"You didn't think they were talking about you did you Sparky?" a guy with why hair spoke looking smug and turning to look at Lightning Lad and the others saying "See you at the finish line." before walking off.
"You know that guy?" Albedo questioned watching as that other guy had walked off to take care of something else.
"Ya, he's my brother." Lightning Lad answered back about just who that was that had spoken to them.
There was an announcments for the contestents to report to the starting area and Lightning Lad looked at the other two saying "Better get to your seats. I'm gonna win this." and heads off to where he needed to start at.
Albedo began to fly off and noiced that Phantom Girl wasn't following so he'd turned back calling "Hey, you coming?"
"Ugh, fine." She'd spoken annoyed about going and flown beside him "I hope you realize what I had to go through to get us into this thing."
"Can't be all that bad can it? Might as well enjoy our time now that we're here." Albedo answered back as they were flying up to the diplomat box.
"Easy for you to say, we're sitting with my mom." Phantom Girl stated with a sigh as they were making their way up.
"Oh, the President, cool. Anyone else I should know about before we get up there?" Albedo then stated as if it were no big deal and just asked who else was there.
"Well, there's a lot of powerful people and the Legion runs on donations from them and others so try to make a good impression." Phantom Gril answered back about the people they were going to see.
"If you mean you want me to be a kissass that's not happening. However I'll be nice to them so long as they're nice to us." Albedo answered back about all that.
"That's fine I guess. But one more thing, don't mention the age of the Anodite Collective please." She stated to him and he'd nodded as they'd finally gotten to the platform and gone into the sky box to watch the games.
They'd walked over twards a table and Albedo noticed some crab legs poking from a dish that looked like a shell in the shape of a jellow mold. "Good evening Senator." He'd spoken as the legs began to move and a face popped out of the center.
"You new?" The Crab creature questioned seeming to have been surprised they didn't just automatically assume he was crab legs on a plate.
"Sorta, new to the Legion anyway." Albedo answered back with a shrug as Phantom Girl had looked at Albedo.
"Head's up here they come." She'd told him as we see a woman with dark hair like Phantom Girl coming over talking with a grey haired woman.
"No no no, the private reconstruction bill. The Terraform Act can't fund a climate reclemation bill. Is that clear enough?" The dark haired woman spoke as they were walking over.
"Yes, I understand. Can't believe they thought the funding could be sent over when we could manage the time much better and on much less of a budget." The gray haired woman spoke about the situation.
"Ah, there you are Tinya, and who is this handsom young man that's with you?" The Dark haired woman spoke to Phantom Girl revealing that her actual name was Tinya.
"Mother, this is Albedo." Phantom girl answered back revealing that the dark haired woman was her mother.
"Greetings Madam President, hey Grandma." Albedo spoke going from formal to Phantom Girl's mom to casual with the grey haired woman.
You could hear everyone quieting down surprised that Albedo could be so casual with the respected leader of the Anodite Collective and had even gone so far as to call her Grandma even though Phantom Girl asked him not to mention her age.
"Do you know who that is?" Phantom Girl spoke immediately trying to diffuse the situation at hand.
"Verdona, She's my grandma. Like, biologically she is my grandma." Albedo answered as if it were a dumb question to have asked him that. "Though to be fair, since the older me probably died hundreds of years ago so I suppose you all wouldn't really know about that."
Verdona however had been laughing about the situation which helped to diffuse the tension in the air and she walked over hugging Albedo. "It's good to see you again, though you do seem a bit younger than I last saw you."
"Time Travel." He'd answered back casually as if that'd answered how he was younger now and had hugged her back.
"Verdona, you never told me you had a grandson my daughter's age." The Dark haired woman answered back.
"She doesn't, I'm actually from like a thousand years in the past or so. Helped the Legion take down the fatal five and now I'm stuck here until the time bubble gets fixed or Paradox shows up." Albedo answered back casully surprising and confusing them in the process.
They watched the first round as various racers were crashing but something seemed off to Albedo about what's going on down below. Lightning Lad had managed to take first place and Phantom Girl had the race muted when the announcers started talking again.
"What do you think?" She'd then questioned looking over at Albedo asking what he thought about the race.
"It's alright, not as exciting as the Kinet Grand Prix though. Round one of that race you're dodging Lava gushing up from the ground and giant lava snakes that snap at anything that come too close." Albedo answered back about the race that they were watching.
Phantom Girl's mom came over and sat down next to them saying "So, you two make a cute couple and he's Verdona's grandson too, that's a plus."
Phantom Girl had placed her hand over her head and let out a sigh of dssappointment stating "Somebody zap me."
Hearing this Albedo took out his pole weapon that Ben made him carry around so he could fight without the Duotrix if needed and he gave her a small jolt from the end of it making her jump slightly in her caught off guard and letting out a squeak from actually having been zapped. Phantom Girl then turned to glare at Albedo who just looked smug giving her a side glance with the pole still in hand but then going back to watching the race.
"Uh, we're going out for snacks." Phantom Girl spoke dragging Albedo away before her mom could say anything, and then once outside she says "You didn't have to actually zap me y'know."
"Ya, I know. Though I am curious about something. The way you phase through stuff reminds me of Team Phantom. You ever tried to see if you could Go Ghost or something?" Albedo answered back before asking about her powers.
"Uh.. I've never heard of something like that before." She'd answered back not sure what he was talking about.
"You ever had your powers studdied before?" He questioned back about what he was referring to.
"Mal did once, he said that they gave off trace amounts of a substance called Ectoplasm." She'd answered back about her powers.
"Then you should be able to go ghost." Albedo stated back to her as the next round was about to start. "I wanna check on something, you go ahead without me."
Phantom Girl nodded and Albedo went off on his own hitting the Duotrix and changing into a form of a ghostlike creature "Ghostfreak." He'd spoken to himself and made himself invisible flying over to the judges box and watched in silence behind them.
He watched as Lightning Lad's turn came up and kept an eye on his brother Mekt rather than what Lightning Lad was doing. When he saw Mekt shove another competitor into the path of Lightning Lad's board he waited to see what the Judges would say about it. When none of them did he'd moved int possessing one of them and hitting the button to buzz for a foul.
"Mekt Ranzz has just shoved another competitor into the path of Garth Ranzz. Playback the feed focused on the other competitors!" The judge called out while being possessed by Ghostfreak.
Doing so revealed to everyone Mekt had in fact cheated and so the judges discussed quietly what to do about it and finally another Judge, not the one being possessed by Ghostfreak called out "Mekt Ranzz will not be allowed to take part in the current event and shall be marked as earning zero points for this round while Garth Ranzz will be awared full points he would have gotten had he landed without incident."
The judge being possessed by Ghostfreak smirked and watched as the final round would start and once the contestants were off racing across the place he'd released the judge and headed back to the booth changing back where no one would see before goint to sit down next to Verdona and Phantom Girl.
"Where have you been?" Verdona questioned Albedo as to what exactly he'd been up to for him to have been gone so long.
"Oh, just making sure things were fair." He answered back as they watched the race as the obsitcals had started taking out the competition.
Garth had been in first place when both he and his brother landed on a stone pillar that had been damaged by some of the magma bubbling causing it to sway and tilt. While Mekt continued to try to win this Garth stopped to help the other competetor that had began to fall pulling him up to safety and seeing how far ahead his brother was he'd said something the others couldn't see and the other guy nodded.
Garth began to spin him around as hard as he could and let go once he'd gotten fast enough sending the other guy flying over at Metz and making them land next to him before continuing to rush forwards as Garth had followed after the two and the four armed yellow guy had leaned forwards just slightily while running and managed to just barely pass Metz getting to the finishline first followed by Metz and then Garth, then the other competitors who'd fallen into the non lethal obsticals.
"Happy with yourself little brother?" Metz questioned looking angry at Garth for helping the competition beat him.
"Ya, actually I am." Garth answered back stating that he was happy with what he'd done. "I may not have won but I did make sure you lost for cheating and that's just as good."
We then move to the Award Ceremony where Mekt pulled out a device from under his uniform and Garth questions "What's that?"
"No idea, one of the judges gave it to me to press during the award ceremony for looking the other way. Shame the other judges noticed, still I'm just returning the favor." Mekt answered back pushing a button as a blast of energy shot out and shut down the dome. "Ow, that's not good."
The Fatal Five had come in fast and were ready to rumble as Albedo just sighed looking annoyed. "I'm not in the mood to deal with you today, can we do this later?" He'd questioned the five in front of them.
"Fraid not hero boy." The Emerald Empress stated telling him they had to fight them before adding "Unless you wanna just get out of our way so we can take the president."
"That's not happening. So I guess you give me no choice time for me to get big." Albedo stated activating the dial on the Duotrix and turning it to a particular spot before hitting it down and changing into a massive alien with bladed arm fins and a head fin that was also bladed as well calling out "Waybig!"
The transformation easily dwarfed Validus and the rest of them with the supposed giant barely managing to make it to Waybig's ankle and he'd punched his hand together creating a loud boom cracking his knuckles making sount like tree trunks snapping. Mano looked like he was going to say something while holding up his index finger but Waybig slammed his fist onto the Five imbedding all of them into the ground inlcuding the Emerald Eye.
"Take them away." Waybig spoke to the Science Police who'd finally snapped out of their stupor and arrested the five with Albedo then changing back to human after they were all taken into custody.
"Damn, when you said Validus barely came up to your ankle you meant it. Mal would have lost his mind seeing Waybig." Garth stated to them as they notice that mekt had snuck away during the distraction.
