Legion's Reign Season 01 Episode 04
We see that the Legion was dealing with a space squid of sorts and it'd been proving to be a little more difficult than they thought as Lightning Lad calls out "Hey Diamondhead, little help here?" while looking over at an alien that looked to be a living crystal humanoid.
"Guess playing around it starting to get tiresome." Diamondhead answered back about having his fun and growing annyoed.
He made crystal spikes jut out all over himself like a walking pin cusion causing the alien squid thing to let out a cry of pain and let go of him. Once free Diamondhead then sharpened his arm into something akin to a blade and slashed the squid's tentacle off freeing Lightning Lad in the process.
Lightning Lad began to try to blast the others free and says "This thing's hide is togher than it looks." He'd called trying to blast Saturn Girl free.
Diamondhead charged forwards and slashed the tentacle around the largest member of the Legion outside of Waybig named Colossal Boy freeing him and turns to Lightning Lad calling "Forget the tentacles Lightning Lad. Blast down it's throat!"
Nodding he'd flown over to it's open maw and prepares to attac it while stating "Hope you're hungry ugly."
He'd then blasted into it's open mouth sending his attack to zap it from the inside where it wasn't as protected causing the creature to let out a cry of pain and had started to go limp allowing the other heroes to get free and continued their assault from both outside and inside of the creature.
A large ship had appeared with a group of people jumping out with the larget one calling out "You can relax now kids. The profession..als have.. a.. rived?" He'd began to say but trailed off seeing that they weren't really having any difficulty with the creature.
"Thanks but we got this." Diamondhead called out in response to the newcomers before turning back towards the battle and calls out "Lightning Lad, crank up the juice!"
"On it!" Called the orange haired individual as he'd then made the blasts he'd been shooting even larger causing the squid thing to go completely limp and let go of everything as it spazzed out and began to try to get away.
"Alright, that was impressive." The leader of the group stated to the Legion about them already having taken care of the issue.
"Ya, no duh. We're professionals not kids." Diamondhead then called out to the other group as if that were obvious they could handle everything. "Why don't you guys just make yourself useful, and clean up here."
The Legionaires headed back to dealing with what ever else they needed to deal with leaving the mess to those new guys and we cut off back to them in the ship with Colossal Boy on screen speaking to them all about everything that had gone on.
"Thanks for your help, once I finish patrol I'll head off back to the HQ." Colossal Boy told them all thanking them for the help with the squid creature.
"Right, we'll see you then." Lightning Lad stated as they'd cut the feed and notice Albedo seemed to be off in thought and so questions "Something on your mind?"
"Those new guys, something was definately off about them." Albedo explained about the other group that showed up late to the party "I did some digging and turns out they're not heroes. They're a Mercenary group."
"Well, Mercenaries can be heroes too. You told me Ben was a bounty hunter, cop, and hero all at the same time." Lightning Lad then pointed out to him.
"Ya, but Ben didn't work for smugglers." Albedo then answered back while looking over at Saturn Girl who turned away not wanting any part of this.
"Hey, don't look over there. Look at me, what exactly is your deal today, those guys could be trying to go straight afer all." Answered back the orange haired hero getting annoyed about this conversation that was happening.
"Maybe, maybe not guess only time will tell." Albedo then stated annoying Lightning Lad and they'd gone to a diner where they'd noticed the group was at already.
The group decided to stop and have something to eat while chatting about other stuff and Lightning Lad had looked over at that new group curious about them and decided to go and have a little chat with them about what happened earlier.
"Hey, you're the kid that blasted that Squid and made them spaz out and retreat. You did good work out there. Name's Tyr, this is Wave, that's Hunter, Ran-Karr and Esper. We're the Light Speed Vanguard." The leader of the group stated noticing Lightining Lad approaching.
"I'm Lightning Lad." He'd answered back after the introductions to just who they were exactly and gave his own name too.
"Seems a little old for a Lad." Hunter stated about his name having the word Lad in it as they'd started to get up.
"Here's our card." Esper spoke handing him one of their cards as the Vanguard had stood up and began to leave.
We see later that Albedo and Lightning Lad had been arguing about the same card and getting frustrated as the others looked concerned about them fighting as it was starting to get rough and could turn violent any moment and Bouncing Boy had gotten between them keeping the two at arm's legnth so that they wouldn't do something they'd regret.
"Y'know what, forget it. I'm not even supposed to be here anyway, I'm gonna go see if Grandma Verdona has some way of getting me home." Albedo spoke before hitting the Omnitrix and changing into a strange creature in a cloak that had unfolded revealing that the cloak was actually wings "Big Chill." He'd then spoken in an eerie sorta voice before flying off.
Albdo made himself invisible and the other Legionaired glared at Lightining Lad who questions "WHAT? You all turning on me to? Fine, forget it I'm out of here." and left the building as well.
Later on we see Lightning Lad wandering the city and sighed as he'd looked at the card the Vanguard gave him and traced the symbol on it which cause the card to act out and start to let off a strange energy that had opened a portal in front of him which made him step back a bit. After looking around he'd then walked into the portal as it closed shut after he entered it.
"See, I told you guys he'd come." A voice spoke once he was on on the other side and Lighting Lad had seen that it was Mekt who'd been speaking.
"Look I know we've had our differences and all but I've changed, moved on. I've gone to better things." Mekt stated to his little brother about the situation. "And they want some new blood. I vouched for you."
"If you wanna go back to your little clubhouse we can arrange that." Esper stated to them however Lightning Lad didn't seem convinced.
"C'mon, join us for a mission before you say no to our offer to join." Tyr spoke telling him to at least give them a chance.
They'd gone to a planet where some people in small mech suits were trying to get into a transport that the people inside were trying to protect and Wave spoke up saying "Whatever those Sand Raiders are after must be important."
"Let's make sure they don't get it." Try called while they were flying off to handle the guys breaking in.
They'd all began to fight off the raiders as they'd broken the suits little by little as Mekt blasted some of them as one came up behind him. Lightning Lad had blasted that one and Mekt looked at him with a smirk before they continued to fight. The Light Speed Vanguard had managed to clear out the Sand Raiders and Tyr had gone over to the boss of the group they just helped out.
"You're bill, it's our standard fee." Try stated to the leader of that other group who'd seemed surprised to hear that.
"But we're carrying decontamination units to the Sector Ten Colony. If those people don't get them soon"That's their problem."" The leader began trying to explain but Esper wasn't in the mood and cut them off.
"Your problem is paying this bill, if you don't have the credits now we'll give you a few days." Tyr stated handing the man the bill and turning to walk off.
"You charge people for helping them? That's not what heroes do!" Lightning Lad stated about what they'd just done to them.
"Ha, whoever said we were heroes, this is just business." Tyr stated as they'd returned to the ship.
"You coming little brother?" Mekt called turning back to Lightning Lad waiting for him to make a decision.
"Ya, I'm coming." He'd called and flown over to join them on the ship and turned to look at the people they just helped for a moment before heading back into the ship.
We see the Vanguard's ship flying through space and says "A dozen convicts have escaped from the prison on Reskel Five. We should be doing something about this!"
"What for?" Mek questioned while looking at his little brother unimpressed with what he was reading while leaning back in his chair rocking back and forth. "There's no credits in any of that stuff." He'd then stated rocking back a little too far and falling onto the floor.
"Listen up! The captain of that transport just sent us a transmision, he says they're not gonna pay. I say it's time to collect." Tyr stated coming into the room
We then see that Bouncing Boy was next to some kid holding his breath and Triplicate Girl had come in calling out "Bouncing Boy, we just interecepted a distress call." and so they'd had to leave.
The next scene we see them flying the ship through space with Bouncing Boy at the wheel next to Triplicate Girl, Saturn Girl, and Timber Wolf, the last of whom was speaking stating "The transport that sent the distress signal is carrying decontamination equipment, we haven't been able to identify the hijackers yet though."
"Looks like someone beat us to it this time." Triplicate Girl spoke seeing the ship that belonged to those other guys.
We then cut to the ship where the captain of the transport had been trying to get them to stop messing with the cargo as the others had started taking them from the ship as the man was begging them to stop because of how important it was to the colony.
"We gave you a chance and you refused to pay. These Decon Units should just about cover the fee." Tyr stated to them refusing to listen since they didn't wanna take the offer to pay up. "Lightning Lad, come here. Take care of this guy would ya?"
Lightning Lad had walked over and looked at the man before then back to Tyr and says "Ya, alright. I'll take care of him while charging his powers making the man look worried.
Instead of blasting the man he'd turned and blasted Tyr into a wall as Esper had gotten angry calling "You little!" But something or someone had blasted her with icy cold air causing her to become frozen in a chunk of ice.
"What in the?" Mekt questioned but before anything more could be said the Vanguard's ship had been blasted and that caused the transport ship to tilt slightly throwing the other members of the vanguard off their game.
The Legionair Ship had blasted the Vanguard's ship out of the way and Timber Wolf jumped out tackling Hunter and clawing apart his staff before kicking him in the chest sending him over into Tyr who was trying to get back up and Bouncing Boy had infladed bouncing up and down on top of Hunter and Tyr repeatedly bouncing on them over and over again.
Triplicate Girl had distracted Wave as she'd tried to grab her with her hair and so she'd left one duplitate in place to tangle the hair. The other two meanwhile had gone around with one grabbing her by the ankles and the other using a sharp piece of debris from the Vanguard's ship to cut through her hair. After freeing the third duplicate before then refusing while spinning her around and letting go throwing her into the others.
Ran-Karr had been blasted by Saturn Girl's mental powers and knocked unconscious while Mekt had managed to slip away during all the chaos as Lightning Lad gave Tyr a final zap to take him and the other two out of the battle.
"Man am I glad to see you guys." Lightning Lad spoke about seeing the other Legionairs there to help out.
"Shame Albedo couldn't have been here to help kick their butts. He made it kinda fun." Triplicate Girl spoke sad that Albedo had chosen to leave.
"Who says he's not?" Lightning Lad then questioned confusing the others just what he was talking about.
"You gonna keep hiding or what?" Saturn Girl spoke asking about someone hiding around them confusing the others.
"Boo." The form of Big Chill spoke appearing in front of Triplicate Girl causing her to jump back in surprise having seen them so close out of thin air like that.
"Someone explain, NOW!" Timber Wolf then demanded about why he was there and not with Verdona right now.
In an almost blinding green flash Albedo returned to being human again and began to explain stating "To simplify, I mentally asked Saturn Girl to link me and Lightning Lad telepathically."
"He explained the plan to Lightning Lad and I." Saturn Girl stated picking up where Albedo left off at.
"And we put on the preformans, an act so that I could get close to find out what was really going on with those guys since they didn't seem on the level. Albedo was with me the whole time watching my back." Lightning Lad explained the final part of the plan leaving the others just totally dumbfounded.
