Legion's Reign Season 01 Episode 05
We see the Legion ship flying through space as they were trying to get into contact with someone and Lightning Lad calls "Triplicate Girl, open another channel!"
"I'm trying." She'd called back continuing to work at the console managing to get it stable so that they could talk.
"How are you holding up?" Lightning Lad questions the people on the other end worried about whatever was going on.
"The storm is getting worse, United Planets ships are on their way but we fear they won't make it in time. We need help, Lightning Lad please hurry." One of the people answered back as the feed started to act out again and they were cut off.
"Bouncing Boy, increase speed to full power." Albedo called as the ship began to speed up but was starting to act weird.
"With this kind of turbulance outside it could tear the cruiser apart." Bouncing Boy called back to them.
"This isn't just any planet that's in trouble. It's my home." Lightning Lad had told them while getting up from his chair to get closer.
"Maintain Speed. I'll go in to stablilize." Albedo called to Bouncing Boy hitting the Duotrix and in a green flash he'd changed into a robotic humanoid alien that ws black and green with circuitry patterns on it similiar to that of Malware 7. "Upgrade!"
After transforming He'd then melted down into the floor as his cirutry patterns had began to spread all over the ship and changed it's outward appearance as well as the inner workings stabilizing them and helping to increase the speed while keeping them all safe to move about inside the cockpit.
"Floor's your Lightning Lad." Upgrade spoke as Mal looked impressed and facinated by Upgrade's powers since his species was different to theirs.
"Right, I'll keep this brief to get you all up to speed. Winath is the bread basket of the galaxy, it supplies food for most of the quadrant Silo Alpha can store a Decade's food supply. Cosmic Storms in this sector always made Winath a target for destructive weather until we built the core diffusor station. Now it turns their enegy into useable power." Lightning Lad explained to everyone about his planet.
"But the station was built to absorb atmospheric disturbances up to one hundred and fifty megabars, from the looks of this one it's at least five hundred possibly more." Malware 7 chimed in about the problem that they were facing.
"That's why the first priority is to make sure that the station doesn't overload." Lightning Lad then picked up again.
"Cosmic Storms are how the To'kustar species comes into existence, I wonder if we'll meet a new one once this is all over." Upgrade stated while still fused with the ship. "That's Waybig's species." He'd then added when they looked at him confused.
"I find that to be doubtful the To'kustar have been extinct for over three hundred years." Mal answered back about Waybig's species.
"We're approaching the planetary orbit." Colossal Boy stated checking the monitors and seeing the information.
"Saturn Girl, can you get a read on my people?" Lightning Lad questioned looking over at her hoping things were okay.
"Yes, everyone had been evacuated to the main storm shelter they're afraid but otherwise unharmed." She'd answered back using her powers to check on the planet below.
"The Cruiser wasn't built to handle five hundred megabars either." Bouncing Boy stated as the turbulance was getting rougher even with Upgrade helping them out.
"Everyone to your seats, buckle in I'm pulling back to just outside of orbit." Albedo told them as everyone buckled in and once they were a safe distance away he'd then reformed the humanoid body letting go of the cruiser and everything both inside and out returned to the normal form again.
"Bouncing Boy, you and Triplicate girl man the cruiser, the rest with me to the battle pod." Lightning Lad called as they'd unbuckled and headed off to the pod launching out to get to the planet.
"Colossal boy, are you sure you can't shrink any smaller?" Mal questioned finiding the pod cramped and Upgrade fused with it making it extend giving everyone more room and in response to this Mal then adds "Oh that's much better thank you."
"We're going down, brace yourselves." Upgrade told them as he'd change the shape of the pod to have something like a sled around the bottom and a ram around the front causing it to dig into the ground and slide without recieving too much damage.
"We're on planet and everone's in one piece." Colossal Boy spoke to Bouncing Boy over the communicator as they'd opened up the pod and Upgrade let go returning to humanoid form again and they'd all ran into the building.
"Alright looks like we got here just in time. Now the first we gotta do is"Say hello to your long lost leader."" Lightning Lad began to say but was cut off by a voice as someone in black and purple walked up to them.
"Cosmic Boy, what are you doing here?" Questioned the Electrokinetic hero about the guy in front of them.
"We were on our way to Earth when we got the distress call and so headed here to see how we could help." The Guy named Cosmic Boy stated to them as another guy came up with a costume on that hid his face and says "Meet Ferro Lad."
"We can talk about that later, right now we've got a job to do." Lighting Lad then stated about the whole thing.
"The system is nearing maximum capacity it's going to take every hand we've got to tackle this." Cosmic Boy stated to the group having already checked things out.
"Colossal Boy, Ferro Lad, Lightning Lad, you three helpe stabilize the building. Cosmic Boy, Malware Seven we're going to the core. Saturn Girl get to the controls and see if there's any emegency shutoff switch to keep it from overloading we'll need you keep us all in contact with your powers with the storm causing communications to malfunction." Upgrade stated to the group as Cosmic Boy looked at them both surprised and confused.
Upgrade his the symbol on his body and changed forms in a green flash becoming Diamondhead again and punched the ground creating a flat crystal looking at Saturn Girl and says "This crystal is damn near indestructable, I kept it small in diamater so you could carry it easier, use it as a shield just in case there's falling Debris."
"Right, thanks." She'd nodded making the crystal float around her using her powers and they'd all split up heading off in different directions to handle the situation.
We then see Mal with Diamandhead and Cosmic Boy as Mal says "There's too much interfereance, I can't run repairs with it it being overloaded too many malfunctions."
"I'll try to contain it as much as i can." Cosmic Boy called out and used his power to try to stabilize it.
"You just focus on repairs I'll handle the excess." Diamondhead spoke hitting the symbol again and changed into a black humanoid creature with M and F plugs on their body and began to siphon the energy while calling out "Feedback!" as he'd done so.
'Saturn Girl, any luck finding an emergency kill switch?' Feedback questioned while still absorbing the energy.
'I'm looking but nothing yet.' She'd answered back in her thoughts as they were all trying to get things under control 'Lightning Lad how are things on your end?'
'I've managed to get some of it welded back into place, Colossal Boy and Ferro Lad are working on fixing the turbines now.' Lightning Lad thought back to them about how things are going.
"I've got it, but the storm's excessive bursts are still going to be a problem if we don't do something about that." Malware Seven told them all having managed to stabilize the core while the storm outside was still causing problems.
"I've got two options, let's home Option One works because I've never tried two before." Feedback called changing into a containment suit and called out "NRG!"
"You all might want to stand back a little." He'd then told them with the two backing up a bit to give him room.
He'd opened the suit and flown off into the air straight into the eye of the storm and began trying to sifon things off and the storm began to slowly calm down. Everyone watched as the storm began to slowly dissapate while the energy being form that Albedo had changed into was growing larger.
'Saturn Girl, get to the shelter to calm the inhabitants they're gonna need the reassurance Mal try to upgrade the systems to handle another storm like this I'm taking the storm with me off planet and getting rid of the excess energy and will return shortly.' NRG thought to them and began to leave.
Flying higher he continued absorbing more of the storm as he'd went until it completeley dissapated. He'd then flown off past the cruiser and to a wide empty part of space before blasting out the energy in all directions shrinking down as he'd done so and returned planet side going back into the containment suit and changed back to human in a green flash.
"I think I'm gonna be sick." Albedo told them while putting his hand over his mouth trying not to hurl from the experience and sat down breathing heavily trying to collect himself.
Once it was over Saturn Girl opened up the shelter and let everyone out seeing a bunch of ships stating "United Planets, right on time." as people had started to run past.
Once everything was over Lightning Lad had visited with his parents for a bit before having to head back off as Colossal Boy says "Thank goodness that's overwith. I hope I never see a storm again."
"I'm sure the folks on Winath feel the same way." Triplicate Girl stated as they were all in the Cruiser heading off.
"With the upgrades they should be able to handle up to six hundred megabar storms now." Mal told them about the upgrading he'd done to the core.
"Good thing we got everything back online." Cosmic Boy stated while leaning against part of the console.
"Always have to be right don't you?" Lightning Lad then questioned from where he was sitting arms folded.
"Is there something bothering you?" Cosmic Boy questioned standing upright instead of leaning like he'd just been doing previously.
"As a matter of fact there is." Lightning Lad answered back standing up to look him in the eye as he'd spoken to them before asking "What makes you think you can leave the team for months and still be in charge?"
"I didn't leave the team, every day I'm out there trying to bring us legitimacy, a lot of people still don't trust us." Answered back the guy in the purple and black costume.
"Well maybe you should be team Diplomat instead of team leader." Answered back the orange haired member of the group.
"Well, if that's how you feel let's put it to a vote." Cosmic Boy suggested stating they should just let the Legion decide who should be team leader.
"For section eight of the legion constitution an impromptu election can be held anytime there is a challenge and concourance." Mal stated citing the handbook about the idea of just letting the Legion decide.
"I challenge." Lightning Lad stated to Cosmic Boy glaring at him as he'd puth his hands on his waist resting his knuckles against them with his hands balled into fits.
"I concure." Answered Cosmic Boy with a smirk on his face agreeing with letting this whole thing happen.
They'd all began casting balads as those not in the room had been doing so by transmission and they'd started to tally up the votes.
"Alright the votes are all tallied up, and the new leader of the Legion of Superheroes is.. Albedo." Mal stated seeming slightly confused but not all that surprised with how he'd started to take charge little by little anyway.
"Congratulation Albedo, I'll see to it that you get the Leadership badge as soon as we get back to Earth." Cosmic Boy stated offering Albedo his hand.
"There's a badge?" Bouncing Boy questioned hearing what Cosmic Boy had said to them about Albedo being the new leader.
"Doesn't surprise me one bit, Albedo had been stepping up to take charge of the different sitautions, guy's able to put a plan in motion to at a moment's notice and adapt on the fly. When he's taking things seriously that is." Lightning Lad stated to them about Albedo's role as leader of the team officially.
