Legion's Reign Season 01 Episode 07
Albedo had actually managed to damage the sun eater but had totally drained himself in the process and was recovering on the ship while the others were working on more repairs as they were traveling through space. He'd began to wake after having passed out from exhaustion during the last encounter and began to sit up.
"Easy there, just relax and try to recover." Phantom Girl spoke telling him not to try anything sudden and just take it easy.
"Hey, I'm tired not injured." Albedo spoke with a stretch as he'd fully sat up and turned to dangle his legs off of the bed before standing up completely.
We then move to see the others going over the information once more in the cockpit of the ship trying to figure out some way to stop this things.
"There's got to be a way to stop this thing." Cosmic Boy stated with his arms crossed trying to think of a way to stop it.
"W don't have enough manpower to throw at it. Mal, any idea?" Lightning Lad stated back before looking over towards Malware 7.
"There may be one way but with our current manpower it would be too difficult to manage before they got to earth's sun. We'll need help, powerful help." Malware 7 answered back to Lightning Lad's question.
"Then that's exactly what we're gonna get." A voice called out as they'd turned to see Albedo coming into the room while leaning on Phantom Girl to keep himself upright.
We fade off to a planet that was one big prison before then moving further into the prison planet and over to a door that had just been forced open by three individuals with masks on. Once inside they'd taken their masks off with it being revealed that it was Saturn Girl, Ferro Lad, and Phantom Girl.
"Phantom Girl to cruiser, we're in." Stated the young hero with the phasing ability while going over to the controls seeing the Fatal Five in cells that were stationed there.
"I new we needed help to sotp the sun eater, I just never thought it would be the Fatal Five." Ferro Lad stated about what they were about to do exactly.
We then see the screens all cutting out as the console was sparking slightly and a small girl appeared from inside the panel and started growing a bit larger so they could better pay attention to her.
"The Nanowires are crossed, I've got the monitor systems crossed from here to the vault." The girl stated to them.
"Thanks good work Shrinking Violet, get yourself ready for phase two." Phantom Girl told the smaller hero calling her by her hero name. "The rest of you let's go."
Ferro Lad had ripped a door out of their way and broken part of duckt of sorts leading them off to where they'd needed to go as Saturn Girl and Phantom Girl followed after him. Once at the top Phantom Girl phased through the laser grid and shut it down so that the alarms weren't triggered and off they went once the grid was down.
They'd gone to speak with the five as Emerald Empress questions "Alright let me get this straight, the Legion is busting us out of prison? You must be pretty desperate to need our help."
"Well, do we have a deal or not?" Saturn Girl questioned walking closer to the stasis field waiting for an answer.
"You do realize we'll need to collect a few personal items?" The Emerald Empress then stated to them about the idea of helping them out.
They'd gone to the vault and opened up the storage on Persuader's Axe and The Emerald Eye allowing the five to reclaim them with Persuader then cutting the cuff off of Mano. The Empress then walked to in front of them all and puts her hands on her hips.
"Remember boys a deal's a deal." She'd stated to the other members of the Fatal Five about helping them out.
"But after we stop this thing, all bets are off." Tharok stated claming his mechanical arm's claws shut into a point.
Phantom Girl phased her fist through Tharok's chest from behind in response to what he said and says "And you'll all end up right back here. Count on it."
They'd returned to the cruiser as Validus had growled and Colossal Boy made himself as large as they were and Persuader readied his axe with Ferro Lad making himself metal.
"Knock it off, all of you!" Albedo called out walking in front of them with his arms crossed. "You're here for a reason after all. Now, to cut to the chase the only thing standing between the sun eater and earth is you. Malware has devised a plan on how to deal with the situation so listen up for your assignments."
"Thank you Albedo, now if we can build a solar transducer we could turn the sun eater's powers back onto itself and destroy it from the inside and make it devour itself." Mal then stated to them about what they were doing.
"It would take months to gather enough quantum particles for one of those to work." Tharok stated about their plan.
"That's why you're all here, to help speed up the process. We've prepared assignments for all of you." Albedo stated to them about speeding up the process.
"Lightning Lad and Saturn Girl, you two will take Validus to gather Galimite Crystals." Malwere Seven then began to state as they'd nodded and gone off to do that.
"Persuader, we need Quantum Ore, so head over to the Tidal Cluster and start chopping." Albedo then spoke as Persuader then headed out to do that.
"Timber Wolf, Colossal Boy, a band of scavengers was reported on Vega Three. Go shopping and get that pronto." Mal then told them as the two headed off to where they needed to go.
"The Tyberian Nebula will supply the anti-matter we need. Star Boy and Mano, go." Albedo then told them as the two had headed off next.
"Bouncing Boy, a stabilizer coil is waiting for us on Rhimbor, they're also sending Jo Nah to help." Mal then told Phantom Girl who'd nodded and headed off as well.
"Guess that just leaves me." Phantom Girl spoke about her being the only one left at the moment who didn't have a task.
"You're going to take charge for the moment while I go and find the controller to take them down." Albedo told Phantom Girl about what her job is gonna be.
"Controllers are notoriously elusive and immune to untied planets laws. You can stop him but you can't arrest him." Malware 7 stated to the acting leader of the team.
"I don't plan on arresting him." Albedo answered back and went to get on one of the smaller ships to take off.
"I've outfitted your fighter with dimensional displacement sensors and other kinds of known radar and so it should help you locate them." Mal stated over hologram as he'd already have taken the fighter ship off to the Cheyenne system.
"Thanks, I'll take it from here." Albedo told them before cutting the feed so that he could get to work.
He then began to fly around the system trying to get any sort of signal of the controller with the Radar doing it's job to help him find them. The Radar began to show a blip on it and Albedo smirked getting out of the ship and flying off towards where the ship belonging to the Controller was located.
While he'd found them the others were working on the device while Phantom Girl was overseeing the project and the emerald eye had snuck up on her to look around at what they were doing seeming to be a little curious freaking her out when she's spotted it.
"I have to give you credit, it takes guts to face certain destruction." The Emerald Empress stated walking over to chat.
"The only thing certain is you getting ejected if you don't get that creepy eye away from me!" Phantom Girl stated not liking how close the eye was and so Empress walked away with the eye following her.
We then see Lightning Lad giving the device a charge as it began to glow and light up thorugh the circuitry. "It's ready." Mal stated to them.
"Phantom Girl, report to the bridge." Saturn Girl called over the intercoms to let the temperary leader know something is up, when they came up to see what was going on she'd showed them the info stating "The sun eater just entered into our solar system."
"Calling all Legionaires, form ranks and prepare for battle." Phantom Girl stated over the communications.
Moving back to Albedo he'd gone up to the ship to see if he could get inside and a door opened up for them so he'd flown inside. "Not gonna greet me in person?" He questioned looking around the strange area that they were currently in.
The area distorted and he was on a platform with someone in front of him hooked up to the ship stating "Welcome Albedo Tennyson, few have seen the controllers as we work." The controller stated to him. "You have been given a great honor."
"Let's cut to the chase shall we, why are you here?" Albedo then demanded deciding to skip the pleasantries.
"Most of my kind believe that perfection lies in order, I believe that it lies in chaos. Your united planets does not suit me." The controller stated to him about why he was doing all this.
"So you're just going to destroy countless lives for your own end goal, what the hell is wrong with you!?" He'd yelled out at the man at the controls.
"It's not me that has something wrong, it's all of you. In the aftermath there will be perfection." The controller answered back about why he's doing all of this.
"You're forgetting one thing." Albedo then stated to the controller telling them that they'd forgotten something.
"And what's that?" He'd questioned back to the alien hero wanting to know just what he might have overlooked.
"Me." He'd then stated hitting the Duotrix and calling out "Fourarms!" before charging forwards to hit them but he'd struck some sort of forcefield and been blown back.
"Your choice of combat is primative, however as a guest on my ship I'll gladly indulge you." The controller told Albedo as his controls and chair that he was hooked to had changed into a battle suit.
The controller charged at Albedo and went to strike at him but he'd hit the Duotrix symbol chaning into Big Chill and phasing through them blasting freezing cold air them, but it didn't seem to do much as they looked at the panels.
"It appears your friends are making a last stand, I'll be sure to keep you alive long enough to see them fail." Stated the psycho controller having some twisted sense of wanting to break him mentally.
In response Albedo hit the symbol again changing into Upgrade and went to fuse himself with the suit but recieved a powerful shock launching him off of the controller and onto a panel that he tried to fuse with but was again zapped. He hit the symbol again and changed into a larger being in yellow armor called Armodrillo and changed his hands into a spiral drill striking at the ground and being zapped by it.
"You're a slow learner." The Controller stated picking up Albedo by the neckline of the armor but he'd hit the symbol again seeming to vanish.
He'd changed into a tiny form called Nanomech and flown into part of the pannel blasting the inside of it but the defense systems ejected him from the pane and he hit the symbol once more changing into Jury Rigg and ran off messing with the pannels just hitting random buttons while laughing like a maniac causing the propulsions to go out.
The Controller backhanded Jury Rigg into a wall and while getting up he'd changed into Canonbolt curling up into the ball form charging forwards slamming into the controller returning the favor.
"Alright, let's see how your ship handles the strongest things I can throw at it!" He'd then stated hitting the symobl and changing once more into Atomix before calling out "HAA-MEE-NA HAA-MEE-NA HAA-MEE-NA HA! NUCLEAR WINNER!"
We see outside the ship that the blast actually put indents into the ship but it had absorbed most of the blast and we then see inside it that the ship and controller had returned the blast back at him along with their own defenses blasting him at the same time causing Albedo to revert to human. But he'd stood up hitting the dial on the Duotrix only for it to show that he'd timed and let off the sound that let him know it was recharging.
"Your little toy won't help you now it would seem." The controller stated walking over and striking Albedo intto the gut slamming him against the consol as it zapped him because of impact.
Albedo had coughed blood from the hit and says "There's still one more trick I got up my sleeve asshole." as the controller was waiting to hear just what that would be. "Duotrix activate self destruct code zero zero zero destruct zero, set timer to five minutes and activate."
"Countdown time set, self destruct in five minutes." The Duotrix spoke of it's own accord confusing the controller.
"What is this nonsense, blowing yourself up won't solve anything you'll simply die before watching your friends go up in flames.
"Maybe, but then maybe not. Ever heard of the Galvan Cylindra Power Cupling?" Albedo answered back asking them a questioned as the controller looked surprised to hear what he'd just said.
"You're bluffing that tech was lost to four hundred years ago." They answered back not believing him.
"I'm from over a thousand years in the past, and this was stabilized properly by the first thinker Azmuth himself, as in the creator of the Omnitrix. You're welcome to try to stop me but the failsafe won't allow you to kill me or to remove it." Albedo then stated looking a bit more smug as the device was counting down.
Meanwhile the device they'd buit turned out to be a dud and failed to destroy the sun eater with Phantom Girl questioning "What just happened?"
"There was a malfunction in the device. Sadly it failed to fully activate to turn the sun eater's power against itself." Malware 7 explained and was trying to figure out what happend and how to stop it.
"Well, if this is our final moments it's been an honor to fight alongside each and every one of you." Cosmic Boy stated to the Legion ready to face their final moments.
The controller meanwhile had gotten frustrated at the siutation they were now in and tried to strike Albedo as the Duotrix dial activated on it's own accord and everything began to slow to a complete and total stop and in a blinding flash Albedo found himself in a cluster of stars.
"Am I dead?" He'd questioned looking around and spotting two floating faces that appeared to be more like masks since they didn't have anything else but the face part, no inside of the mouth or eyes or anything.
"No, you aren't. You are however insane, willing to blow yourself up to take the controller with you without even trying to consult us first." The grumpy looking face stated to them.
"I am Serena the voice of Compassion, and this is Bellicus the voice of Rage, we are Alien X. A long time ago Ben helped us learn to be more cooperative with one another and we decided to give you a chance to set everything right." The more happy looking face stated to them.
"Whoa, so this is what the inside of Alien X looks like? It's like an endless void filled with stars." Albedo stated looking around.
"PAY ATTENTION!" Bellicus yelled at him making Albedo turn back towards them. "It's your job to get us to agree to help save everyone."
"If we stop the sun eater then countless lives would be saved, and it'd screw over that jerk that wants to destroy everyone so if we start there that'd be a good place." He answered back not sure if he was doing that right.
"You must call for a movement." Serena explained to them about how they do this "Then we put it to a vote."
"Okay, I move that we not just stop the sun eater but erase, no I think I got something better Alien X can warp reality and do literally anything right?" He'd began to state to them but paused to ask a question.
"Yes." Bellicus answered back to the young man in front of them "We can do anything you can think of so long as we are in an agreement."
"Okay, first I move that we stop the countdown timer on the Duotrix so that we don't blow ourselves up." He'd stated to them thinking that should be first.
"Seconded." Serena spoke agreeing that would be a good idea to handle that first before moving onto the next thing.
"Agreed, unanimous vote." Bellicus answered back as well also agreeing with Albedo about stopping the self destruct override.
"Now I move that we take the sun eater away from where it is now so that we can save countless lives, then teleport it directly into the ship's core to take both it and the controller out at the same time." Albedo then stated for his next idea about what they should do.
"Seconded." Bellicus stated this time having been the first one of the two to agree with his plan to take them out and save everyone.
"Agreed, unanimous vote." Serena stated as time then began to resume and the controller spotted Alien X.
"What trickery is this?" He'd demanded to know but they didn't answer him at all almost as if they were ignoring him.
They'd then teleported away to the sun eater where Ferro Lad was about to try to do something but Alien X stopped him and put his hand up and swipped it to the side while closing it making the sun eater vanish before teleporting away again.
"Uh.. what was that?" Lightning Lad questioned about who or what that was that just took away the sun eater.
Meanwhile Alien X had returned to the controller's ship and held out their closed fist before opening it as if dropping something with the sun eater reappearing though inside the tube that was the power source and it caused a malfunction that made the ship and the sun eater implode taking the Controller with it.
"Alright, I move that we go back to the cruiser I'm exhausted and need a safe place to pass out now. Please." Albedo told the two of them.
"Seconded." Serena spoke and turned to look at Bellicus as Albedo did the same waiting for an answer.
"What the hell, unanimous vote." Bellicus called in response and Alien X teleported back to the cruiser before changing back into Albedo in a blinding flash.
"Whoa, now that was a powerful transformation." Cosmic Boy stated impressed by what Albedo had done.
In response Albedo smirked before starting to fall forwards and passing out while Phantom Girl had moved catching him before he hit the ground. "He's injured, but I believe he will make a full recovery." Mal stated to the group doing a scan of their leader.
We then see Phantom Girl gently playing with Albedo's hair with a relieved sigh and slowly fade out to a scene of Albedo standing at a podium stating "I think it's time I finally made this thing official since I'm still stuck here for awhile, and since I'm leading this group now."
"Well then shall we?" Phantom Girl spoke ready to get this little thing started already while being a little excited too.
Albedo then raised his hand before stating "To the Legion of Superheroes, I make this solemn pledge. To use my powers for good. To fight for justice and protect the innocent. To aid my fellow Legionnaires in times of peril and to keep their secrets safe. I choose a new name to honor the heroes of the past. I am Albedo."
